Jenny Biltcliffe: This is a wonderful yoga centre with highly skilled and empathetic teachers. I have been attending a women’s intermediate class taught by Frances for many many years and love it. The Centre is light and airy and just being in this space makes me feel calm. Frances is extremely knowledgeable and excellent at giving helpful individual feedback to everyone in the class. She is able to offer adaptations to the poses to help with particular ailments or injuries. I wholeheartedly recommend the Sheffield Yoga Centre to beginners and the more experienced practitioner alike.

Arianna Giovannini: I have been taking classes at the centre for 5 years and I absolutely love it! The quality of teaching is of very high standard, and teachers are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive and understanding. There are classes for all levels and the approach to yoga used at the centre is suitable for everyone, irrespective of age or level of fitness. Last but not least, the centre itself is a peaceful place, with the most relaxed and positive atmosphere. I would highly recommend Sheffield Yoga Centre, without hesitation!

Caroline Anschutz: I have been going to this centre for many, many years. The atmosphere is very welcoming, the venue has a calming feel and the teaching is superb. Frances and all the other teachers are so supportive and encouraging. As there are many different classes you can find the one that suits you without difficulty. You do not need to bring your own equipment as new mats, blocks, blankets, belts are there for everyone (and are cleaned after each class). I cannot recommend and praise Sheffield Yoga Centre strongly enough. It has supported me during recovery from mental illness and after my hip replacement and continues to give me strength and equilibrium.

Anna Cowlishaw: I take 3 intermediate classes a week at Sheffield Yoga Centre. 2 in person with Frances and Bridget, in the centre and 1 virtually on Zoom with Pascale. The centre offers a beautiful clean and quiet environment to practice Yoga in a COVID safe manner. The quality of teaching is of a consistently high standard whether virtually or face to face. Cues, modifications and adjustments are offered on an individual basis to help students get the best experience of the practice regardless of their personal limitations. I would highly recommend Sheffield Yoga Centre to anyone looking to practice Iyengar Yoga as a beginner or wanting to advance their practice.

I started as a mature beginner and have attended various classes which have all been excellent. I have found the teaching to be highly skilled and very supportive. The centre is well equipped and provides a lovely environment for yoga practice. Iyengar yoga helped me manage my osteoarthritis and the centre's excellent therapeutic class was key to my fantastic recovery from knee surgery.
Toni Frascina: I’ve never been sporty and I find most forms of exercise quite boring. But Sheffield Iyengar Yoga Centre teachers put together interesting and varied classes which can be challenging, but never feel like a slog. Sometimes I don’t feel like going – too tired, fed up, a bit achy etc. etc. but I always make myself go because I know I will come out of the class feeling energised and with a lighter mood. The longer term physical benefits for me include less stiffness, better balance and increased muscle strength. Whatever your level of fitness, body shape or age, this place provides the support and expert guidance to explore what Iyengar Yoga can do for you.

It's a haven of calm as well as being fully-equipped, and the quality of teaching and events on offer is excellent. During the pandemic the centre switched to online teaching so that classes could continue through lockdown, and blended classes are now available, offering great flexibility. Classes at different levels allow you to progress, developing your practice of physical postures (Asana) as well as breath work (Pranayama), chanting and philosophical study. Highly recommended!

John Evans: Hanna and Chris are so good at teaching and make the classes really enjoyable. Since Covid-19 issues have been in play I have participated in the live online classes, these are excellent and you feel almost in the room like a live class. Yoga has brought so much to my life over the last 18 months or so and I give so much thanks to Chris and Hanna. I would strongly recommend Sheffield Yoga Centre to anyone thinking of taking up Yoga.

Marco Haring: I highly recommend Sheffield Yoga School to anybody already on their yogic evolution and to those still thinking about starting. The instructors are highly knowledgeable which reflects in the fact that classes are a lot more than just physical fitness lessons. The lessons knit the physical, cognitive, and emotional aspects of yoga together into a well-being — but no less physically challenging — experience. The regular classes can be augmented with additional high quality workshops and courses with some of the best yoga teachers in the UK. I'm not particularly fit or agile but there are always easier options to the more challenging positions. The online library is great too - lots of different practices to try out. marta crispo: I mainly go to R1SE Yoga for the areal classes which are always great fun. Plus I found a lot of benefits as sitting most of the day the class help me to keep my spine and neck healthy! Beckie is a great and fantastic teacher and always try to teach us new poses. The hot flow is also a very nice class, challenging but rewarding. The team is also always very kind and always try to accommodate your requests to ensure you can always benefit of the membership /classes booked.

milly: I went to my Hot Flow trial session at R1SE Brook Place today and loved it. The second I walked in I was welcomed by the staff and shown around the studio. The class was brilliant and Beckie explained the flow so clearly (even if you get confused, there’s a large projection of her in the side wall so you don’t have to keep looking up). The class ended with a cold towel and we were offered complimentary tea. Such a great studio and I can’t wait to go back - highly recommend :)

Goshilla: I really love Yoga Nature classes and workshops - Jo and Ben are the best yoga teachers out there, very knowledgable and friendly. They make yoga accessible to everyone and I always feel uplifted after the class. I particularly enjoy the fact that the classes extend beyond the posture work by throwing in bits of history of yoga and generally showing how to live the yogi life day-to-day. I have tried so many different classes in the past and finally found home at Yoga Nature. Highly recommend trying it for yourself :) xx

Rachael Lowther: I joined R1SE in October last year and have loved it ever since. I’m not someone that had done much yoga previously but I wanted to try something new. I started with a trial which was 4 classes over 2 weeks, it was addictive! I signed up with R1SE for a monthly membership straight away. There’s something special about R1SE that keeps you coming back for more. There’s a variety of different classes to choose from to suit everyone. My favourite class is Flow, just the right balance between challenging and relaxing. Doing a class in their hot studios is a great calorie burner and relieves your body of stress and toxins. I always feel so refreshed after a session and if I could come every day I would! The team and instructors are so friendly and passionate. They all go above and beyond; you notice the personal touches like hot towels and complimentary tea that set aside this place from the rest. If you’re reading this review deciding whether to try out R1SE please go for it, you won’t regret it! ⭐️🧘🏻‍♀️❤️

Eric gives clear instructions and explains what we are dong and why.Eric creates a safe and supportive atmosphere and the class is fun.I sometimes feel I could go a little faster - for example we have been doing downward dog for years, so I would like just the basic instructions so that we moved on rather than the detailed description every time.I would like to do more strengthening poses too.However - I find that the content of the class is good for me and I always feel better for having done it.Thanks Eric.

He is clear, approachable and we all love him!
Peter Race: Eric is an experienced and knowledgeable yoga teacher whose classes are always well planned with a clear focus gradually building up to give class participants a better understanding of how bodies work. He generously shares his skills and kindly gives advice when asked and makes sure everyone is safe in class. In short, I cannot recommend Eric highly enough. Power Of Yoga: what do users think?
Anita: I have recently completed two six week courses of the beginners class. I found the delivery of tuition pitched at the right level to support students new to yoga. Louise was patient and encouraging and made time for everyone in the class. As I enjoyed the beginners so much I enrolled for a second time. Who knew how flexible my unbending body had become in just six weeks? What a bonus!

When I had back problems a few years ago I went right back to basics with the beginner session while my back healed. I was supported to practice safely and at an appropriate level.I cannot wait for Power of Yoga to open again; I have really missed it!

Having sustained a knee injury (not yoga related) and now recovering from surgery, the classes and instructors are a key part of my recovery both in body and mind. The moment I walked into the beautiful studio for the first time I felt a sense calm and serenity, with a wonderful scent of essential oils. As a beginner, the instructors were amazing and helpful, gently guiding me into good form and posture without pressure or intimidation. I never felt self-conscious or like I had to ‘keep up’, everyone is so kind! I also have fun private 1:1 sessions with Louise to help me learn simple changes and tweaks to get more during classes and protect my knee. And... I love their workshops which are insightful and varied to help grow my inner peace and learn how amazing my body is. I honestly can’t say enough about Power of Yoga and highly recommend for beginners to yoga wondering what it’s all about - you’ll be surprised, I was! Give it a go, your body and mind will love you for it!
Irma Kennedy: I started at Power of Yoga two years ago and have never looked back. The passion and commitment of the teachers is second to none. The small classes allows for individual attention ensuring you learn the poses well. The teachers encourage you to develop but at a pace you are comfortable with and vary the lessons to keep them interested.The variety of classes available for people at different levels, giving the individual a choice is also a key point.The ambience of the room is so relaxing, well set out and the decor makes the whole lesson a great experience. Believe me, there is no comparison with yoga classes at the large gyms which I found to be so impersonal and unhelpful to the individual with the cold ambience and such large numbers, not different classes for people at different levels. In addition the equipment and cleanliness all round is to a very high standard. Mats are cleaned after each lesson or you can bring your own if you wish.The classes help me to relax, improve my insomnia and focus on the here and now.I really can't recommend these classes enough. I just love, love love them!

The staff were lovely. The facilities were everything you’d need. Just take a towel and a water bottle. Fantastic first experience. The pod itself is such a great experience, so warm, clean and inviting. The session is soothing and good for the senses as the light is subdued, the pod is really warm and so relaxing. Definitely worth a try. Good for the soul. Would recommend.

Katie Barber: I've been going to HotPod for a few weeks since it opened and I'm stunned. I feel amazing after I go.I love the atmosphere, it feels like you're almost not even on this planet, like you're nestled in a giant spaceship womb. The heat allows you to stretch deeper. Let's face it - cold church halls are not the best for yoga and usually hot yoga is ridiculously expensive - not so at HotPod.The classes are challenging but the teachers always provide alternative poses and make it clear that you can take breaks whenever you need to, this makes me feel like I can really focus on the spiritual practice of yoga rather than watching what other people are doing and trying to get my poses right.It's perfectly located if you work or live in town. I do neither but my spa is round the corner so it's great to go to hot yoga before swimming 🏊‍♂️If you're worried about the heat: it's not as intense as you'd expect. I've found that an hour of heat in the darkness is far easier to tolerate than a whole day in the sun - a totally different experience. You'll get sweaty if you do a flow class, so bring a towel and a large water bottle (maybe with a pinch of himalayan salt in it). I know from being a regular sauna user that your body builds up a tolerance to these things and once that happens the difference in your body is amazing - for example it's far easier to exercise without getting too hot.I will definitely be a regular at HotPod 🧘‍♀️
