Lucy Jackson: First order j placed was great, super helpful in store and brilliant delivery guys. My 2nd order was delivered yesterday and delivery guys very unhelpful/rude and refused to carry concrete posts around the back of the house. I understand that the weather was bad as I was soaked myself and road works made it more difficult but as a 5ft 5 female carrying concrete that weighs the same as me is impossible. I managed to lift the 5ft fence panels and hoping the posts aren't stolen by the time I put the fence up. I only asked them to carry 3 posts and 3 kick boards due to weight j was ok to do the rest and it would have only added on a couple of minutes to the delivery which is charged for.

Nikki Cunliffe-Lang: Purchased just 4 6x5 ft panels which were delivered yesterday. Absolutely thrilled with the quality and workmanship of them. You wouldn't believe they were the cheaper priced panels. Delivery guys were lovely and professional too. Will be placing another order very shortly.
Steve Loane: Probably the worst customer service I've ever encountered. Not sure if it was because it was close to their 12 noon closing and a very sunny day, or the Blades badge in the back of the car, but a little common courtesy goes a long way!

The website is full of errors and miss informtation, can't proceed to checkout and no advise why, no one anwsering the phones, call back system not in use (only advised after filling in and submitting my request, what a waste of time). Very poor communication and customer service. I've ordered elsewhere to good effect.

Paul Gilbert: I would highly recommend this company. I have collected today by appointment, one single sheet of plywood in an over size, which few, including themselves carry. I tried a few other local companies without joy, however Timber Specialists offered to order in this item specially. It arrived into stock on time (despite current Covid related issues). I will most definitely use them again.
Gavin Richardson: I have used this place twice after a recommendation. I have no idea why they have may decent reviews unless it’s from friends and family. Inept and ignorant staff! Dreadful customer service, called in advance on both occasions only for know one to have may idea where the order is! Forty minute wait on both occasions, poor quality of ply on both occasions. Told to speak with Steve Simpson in particular but can never reach the man. Christ knows how this shop makes money, terrible service.

This is more for the builder and the CLS used in that, its a pity because Sheffield has shocking suppliers of quality hardwoods for such a big City. Staff have always been friendly, but I dont understand why they dont offer a cutting service.....
Response: Hi we stock possibly the largest selection of timber in the uk ,timber from 4mm thick up to 12 inch x 4 inch lengths up to 7.2 metre long. Hardwoods we keep in stock Sapele 50mm thick /63mm /75mm . Ash 50mm / 63mm . Oak 25 mm /50mm / 63mm/ 75 mm .Meranti 50mm / 63mm / 75mm We can and do regular order other species of hardwoods as a special order please email or call and will try to help on any enquiry. We dont have the facility to offer cutting services on timber sorry

Wagwan 123: No problem with products but poor delivery service. Ordered 1 bag of stones for top of back long garden and grit sand for front of garden. When I phoned and ordered was told i could have stones delivered at back over fence (which they have done in previous years) and sand at front of house just to give instructions to driver. Then when delivery guy came refused to put stones over fence and dropped both at front of house. As a single mum this is not practical as now I’ve got to do numerous trips with small buckets to take stones to where they should be. I have always gone to QT for my garden stuff and never had an issue with delivery before. So disappointed on this occasion. Have called QT and given my feed back on delivery as this can be improved on future customer deliveries or if can only do one drop to specify that when customer is ordering!

Go to the photos to see the results.Original post.I had been looking for a local supplier of "proper" rough sawn timber for a number of projects I have and found Sheffield Timber on line so gave them a call.They were very friendly and extremely helpful helping me choose some timber and, as other reviews were very positive, I settled for 10 lengths of ash for some Toy Box commissions I have.I have cut and planned some test pieces since taking delivery and the quality is very good. The rest is set aside to acclimatize and I am exited to get started once it is ready.They showed me around when I went to collect and they have other varieties of interest for future projects so will definitely be going back.

Michael Dungworth: Shocking service from here recently.Ordered 10th June for first drop this morning (24th) promised between 7:45 and 8:15am today. I rang the branch at 8am to see where the order was to be told the order wasn’t going to be with us until between 9-10am and that the 56 bags of plaster I ordered was going to be just 10 because of ‘allocation'. The branch made no efforts to contact me to 1 inform me that the delivery was going to be late or 2 that I was short of 46 bags of plaster. I was then told I would be contacted in order to sort the rest of the order out and I have yet to be contacted. The incomplete order eventually arrived at 10:35AM.There’s clearly a number of issues here that need addressing. Mis-managing customer expectations is a massive one. Surly the branch was aware a day/week before that they may have been struggling to get this order to me and if they had let me know I could have got product from elsewhere.Communication is KEY! Tell me this before the time of when the product i being delivered. Be proactive - Mr customer, we’re having issues if you really need 56 bags of plaster on X date you should look at other suppliers then I could have called to Wickes and got some.
