Terry George: After a lengthy wait I received a call from Sophie at Goldsmith advising that the watch I wanted was available. It was my plan to surprise my nephew Luke for his 30th birthday five months later. I kept in contact with Sophie and together we devised a plan to surprise my nephew when visiting the Goldsmiths Rolex boutique on a random shopping trip to Meadowhall. Thanks to Sophie this went smooth and to plan. She arranged the watch to be presented and a birthday cake and balloons for my nephew. He had no idea that once trying on the watch it would become his, all the staff joined in singing happy birthday and it was delightful with tears of joy from his mum and his wife also. Sophie was incredible and went above and beyond to make this experience memorable for us all forever. Thank you to Sophie and all the staff at the Goldsmiths Rolex 🙏

Anthony Hull: Called in end of October after an online enquiry about an oyster perpetual pink dial 34 for my wife . It’s a good job we made an appointment because the store was very busy. We Got a very warm welcome on entry . The sales assistant luke really knew his stuff and was very accommodating. It was important that we made the visit because after trying on various sizes and looking at colours in the flesh, my wife decided in the end to register for a date just 36 mint green ( beautiful piece). Luke was open an honest about the possible wait for these models which is no surprise in todays crazy world ( ask the car industry !!) . Got a phone call last week to say the watch was here . Made an appointment to look at the watch that night . My wife loved it ! The experience was good and the staff were very friendly . My wife hasn’t taken the watch off and has a lot of comments about it from friends . I’d always recommend this store . The opening times are very convenient and the staff are very knowledgable . We have always been made to feel welcome . I’d always recommend making an appointment to get the full time and attention from the dealer .

David Clayton: Goldsmiths allways seam to go that extra mile, Sophie still remembers our names that makes us feel special and shows she cares. The staffs knowledge is exceptional and now the new showroom in the upper mall is fabulous, you must try a cocktail if you visit on a weekend.

Kirsty and her colleague were helpful and patient answering all our questions even the repeated ones. When purchasing a high value item like this it is important that you feel able to try various styles and the team were happy to assist us. The item I purchased was a considerable valued watch, but the team were happy to suggest alternatives despite them being cheaper options. I would recommend and we will return to see the girls in future.

I called in the Tag boutique in Meadowhall to ask if they were able to take a link out of the strap. I can’t recall meeting two more friendly and welcoming staff in any store I’ve visited. Jackie Hurditch: The lady was very helpful when my husband bought me a ring for my 60th birthday but the ring lost a stone after 4 weeks or so. When I took it back to the shop, I was told that I had broken it as the claw had broken off and that I couldn't have a replacement straight away as it would have to go to the repairers to see what the cost would be. Luckily (or is it!!) my husband had taken out insurance on the ring and so if it needed to be repaired the cost would come off that amount. Surely a ring should last more than a few weeks - I have retired so don't do a hard manual job or even work with my hands baking or crafting, so I am lost as to how I could gave 'broken' it. The young man said I could have done it drying my hands on a towel!!! Not a ring that is fit for purpose is it! I have now been waiting over 2 weeks for a response from Hinds and to be honest, I don't really want the ring back as I will be afraid to wear it which is a total waste of my husband's hard earned money.My husband has always bought his jewellery from Hinds but has said he won't be buying any more.

Charlotte McGonigle: Excellent service and super friendly and helpful staff. After my engagement ring got a bit loose I went into this store to get it resized. Millie was extremely helpful in explaining the process and letting us know how long it would take. I received it back in less than 2 weeks and it came back gleaming! My wedding band was also too big but luckily I was able to exchange. There was a slight problem with the setting of a stone so I went back. Millie was again extremely helpful and spoke to the manager who would then speak to the repair centre the next working day. True to their word the Manager, Kelly, rang the next working day and was able to offer me a few options were extremely helpful. I was inundated with options, after deciding I spoke to Debbie who helped put everything in motion. I did double check this morning to see if everything was progressing and I spoke to Jenny who made sure everything was in place. She rang soon after and wedding band was available to collect. We leave for our wedding in just a few days and they have been so accommodating and helpful. It felt like nothing was too much for any of those who we dealt with. Thank you so much, you’ve all really made such a difference to our big day. :)

We were looked after by a member of staff called Lyndsey who’s attitude was exactly what we needed. Pushy sales staff give us the ick and Lyndsey was far from that! She gave us advice and real life examples of why certain rings work better for certain people. Although we didn’t end up buying our rings that day Lyndsey wrote them both down and I ordered from the website. My ring just arrived and it is spot on!

Although it isn't our closest store we chose to go to Meadowhall to tie in with our plans for the day and I'm really glad we did. Scott, Helen and their colleagues I have spoken to both in the store and over the phone have been absolutely amazing from start to finish.Scott understood exactly what I was looking for in my engagement ring and was patient while I tried many, many on and explained the whole process of ordering into the store and the insurances perfectly with no pressure.I have subsequently tried my ring in two different sizes and all interactions to arrange this have been quick and easy, after a rather disappointing trip to the Nottingham store when I was misinformed on the process of arranging this. I'm really glad we chose to stick with Meadowhall, even being a 1.5 hour round trip for us, it was well worth it.Even with awkward payments, valuation requests, which I'm pleased to say the store sorted for me perfectly and the sizing, I've now got my perfect ring and have been impressed with the service from start to finish.I hope the team, particularly Scott, get some recognition from these reviews as they've been fantastic!
Perrie Watson: Really disappointing service. I bought a ring in December and by February a diamond was lost. I was told it was my fault and I was to pay for a new one (this ring wasn't cheap or flimsy so shouldn't have lost a diamond within a few months). They took my ring in February and I've still heard nothing in terms of when I can pick it up. I've sent 3 complaint emails to customer services and heard nothing back. This ring is a replacement of a stolen sentimental ring. Shocking customer service. Will be requesting a full refund and spending my money elsewhere.

Nasir I: I brought an engagement ring from here two months ago I rung up today to insure the ring since I’ve been away due to work only to be told that I can’t insure a ring after 30 days. After having a conversation with one of the workers from the Meadowhall store over the phone and informing her that I asked whoever helped me with the purchase ‘ could I insure this ring at any time as long as it’s in good condition’ they happily replied ‘yes’. But now I can’t because it went past 30 days. How can they only be a 30 day window to insure something so valuable and precious? How can you not inform someone before hand when purchasing such an expensive gift?I will happily inform individuals to avoid this shop when purchasing a ring or anything similar as they only care about profits and will use a special moment of your life such as an engagement to scam you and make profits. Clearly if it was a shop that worked on good ethics they wouldn’t be a 30 day window to insure such an expensive item and especially not inform the customer regarding this important piece of information.

It needed a repair now and we also ask for it to be plated as turned goldish.4 months later my ring came back from the workshop and …. It wasn’t made as the original ring. It was very poorly fitted diamond ring. It didn’t look the same as mine/ original one.All staff persuaded me that’s it’s exactly the same ring and because I didn’t have it on my finger for long time it might look weird to me. I wasn’t happy with it and I didn’t accept the repair as I was sure it’s not my my ring.I’ve asked to order the same / new ring to compare. After the new one has arrived everyone at the store could tell that they’re not even close to match.Diamond was positioned differently (if actually it was a diamond! As didn’t look like the original one!) and the ring was still goldish.They were trying to charge me few hundred pounds for repair where actually nothing was done.The ring is damaged now as it has been bent in few places.That was my engagement ring and It has sentimental meaning to me.Also the manager and assistant manager don’t give a fuss about the whole situation.It’s 5th month now and they didn’t come back to me how they want to resolve the problem. I am the one who keep calling the store and asking. In their favour should be to resolve this issue.I am not gonna mention their lies when they were trying to charge me for the repair stating it’s the same ring! They are clearly ripping people off! It’s not right to charge people for service that wasn’t provided.You should be paying me back for my ring that your workshop has damaged !Also some of the staff are arrogant, and disrespectful.I felt discriminated.My next step will be contacting Ombudsman Services as I would like to have my ring finally back.Will not shop there anymore.

Richard A: Tonight we had the pleasure of being served by James at Meadowhall branch whilst picking up a wedding ring for my wife to be. What an absolute star he was, professional, pleasant, funny and an all round good guy. As we decided to shop for a ring for myself, we were then passed over to Vicky, who was a breath of fresh air and made us feel totally at home. She had the patience of a saint as she showed us the selections. We had such a fun evening, chatting, browsing and storytelling, which added to our experience and ensured our repeat custom. Maria G: I paid for an item online and had to pick it up from this store due to it not being available for delivery. I tried ringing the number provided to check if I could take the car to the back door to collect due to it being a heavy item. Unfortunately it was an automated message then the phone line went dead. The next day I went to pick up my item and asked at the counter if they could leave it at the back door for me to put straight into the car. The lady said they are not doing it due to covid situation but I could use their trolly to take it to the car. Fair enough. A guy came with my item and dropped it in front of me. I asked for the trolly and he said no. I told him that the lady had already offered for me to use it. He just shrugged his shoulders. I asked how can I get it to my car as the nearest parking is far away, especially for heavy items. He just shrugged his shoulders again and acted like he didn't care! His customer service skills are non existent! Luckily a nice member of the public offered to take it to my car for me. I will not be shopping at this branch ever again and would not recommend. Can't wait for my usual branch to re open.
Daniel David-john (The Retail Trader): Went there yesterday to get a monster truck and a remote control car. I can't fault the products. However it's my 2nd visit there and there is this man who works at the counter and has the worst customer service skills going. The 1st time he served me he was to busy telling his colleague how he was in a argument with a customer. The second time her served the man in front of me and was speaking so down to him I wanted to step in. He also.l spoke to me in a way I wanted to make an issue but having two kids I didn't want them to see me.angry. This guy clearly should not be working with customers and should be kept in the warehouse.

Rohima Yasmin: Earlier today I ordered a trike for my son in the Meadowhall store as I needed it urgently. It was 20 minutes before the store closed ( I was there 40 minutes before the store closed but took some time choosing) and I asked if someone can help me take it to my car as I had my 1 year old with me. The man that brought the trike out immediately said no and looked annoyed. I said I could wait until the store closes and will bring my car to the front and he seemed angry with me but agreed. I was outside with 8 minutes to go and could see Julie coming towards me with the trike. I’m not ageist but I could see younger people working in the store and was fuming that they sent Julie. Those guys working in the store, especially the man who brought out the trike should be ashamed. If I was working there I would NEVER allow Julie to carry a heavy item to someone’s car! Julie exceeded my expectations and deserves a pay rise as this isn’t the first time she’s done this for me and I’m certain she’s done this for many others. Julie has a heart of gold which you can see if you have any interaction with this sweet lady.
