Sheffield CBT Practice: what do users think?
Sally Jervis
Sally Jervis: I recently received treatment from Jane here I was able to trust her and work through things that I needed to! I feel the experience has improved my quality of life! Would recommend to anyone in need. Many thanks again
Greg Atherton
Greg Atherton: A fantastic, respectful service provided by Jane. I’ve learnt so much from our meetings. Totally pressure free environment and would definitely recommend to anyone- whatever your particular issue is.
C Foster
C Foster: My son has recently been referred querying ADHD and ASD so while waiting for his referral to go through we decided to search for a child therapist to advise us how we could support our son in the meantime. Sarah was absolutely amazing, she offered great support over the telephone and suggested simple things to put in place to help day to day life more manageable for our son. I felt she genuinely cared and showed so much empathy towards our situation. Its only been a week since we put new measure into practice but already we are seeing fantastic improvements! Thank you so much Sarah!
Jo Liddle
Jo Liddle: I sought Jane’s help when my eldest son suffered from a severe and unexplained fear of dogs. He was 8 at the time and he struggled with everything from play dates, trips to the park and family walks. Although I’d read about how to help him nothing seemed to work and his fear was affecting his ability to join in with his peers. Jane has a wonderful and warm nature. She quickly got to grips with my son’s fears and gently helped him (and me) with strategies to overcome these. My son thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. Despite his initial resistance , Jane had a wonderful way of making him feel really positive. I’m delighted to say that the sessions could not have been more successful. We now have our own dog who my son adores. We would not have made this progress without Jane and I’m so grateful to her for her help.
Alana Edwards
Alana Edwards: I came to see Jane McClaren for some help with my anxiety and how it affects me in a relationship. She has been really helpful and was really easy to talk to and work with. We have put together a plan of action that has really assisted me in managing my anxiety on a day to day level. Now I just need to find Mr Right to see if my relationship skills have improved too! I would highly recommend anyone to try CBT and see how it can improve your life. Its so simple but effective and makes perfect sense!
Response: Thank you for your review Alana, I am pleased that you benefitted from seeing Jane at Sheffield CBT Practice. I hope that you are able to continue to be your own 'therapist' now that you have ended treatment. With best regards Sarah and Jane Sheffield CBT Practice
Lauren Hales
Lauren Hales: Jane at the CBT Practice has been both delightful to work through my challenges with, and immensely helpful in guiding me to a happier, healthier and fuller life. Friendly, caring and supportive yet also efficient in use of time and money, I would highly recommend this service!
Jake Richardson
Jake Richardson: Great experience receiving help from Cara - huge change in my stress/anxiety and general outlook from before I started. Would highly recommend if you're struggling with phobias and panic attacks.

Shari Woolley CBT: what do users think?
Laura Kelly
Laura Kelly: When I first started sessions with Shari, I had already been in a form of therapy with a different therapist for several months dealing with extreme anxiety. I contacted Shari for her availability and a consultation, due to a city relocation, and she was helpful, eager and able to set appointments up with me quickly. Although I had improved during my time with my previous therapist, the speed at which I was able to face my fears, form habits and consistently do exposure work once I started my sessions with Shari was incredible. She really spends the time getting to understand your personality and what might work best for you and recommends tools that fit this. If something doesn’t quite work for you, she’ll take your feedback on board, explore options and find the thing that DOES work. The thing that truly sets Shari apart is her dedication to maintaining your mental health and ability to ‘be your own therapist’ post-therapy. She will build a relapse prevention plan with you and schedule future check in sessions. This sort of after care is not something I’ve encountered with other therapists, and shows how much Shari cares about her clients.
Response: Thank you Laura for taking the time to write a testimonial. I’ve been so impressed by your courage and determination and it has been wonderful to see your progress. 🙂
Isobel
Isobel: I was quite hesitant to reach out and seek help to begin with, since I almost didn’t want to admit to myself that I was suffering, but Shari gave me a lot of confidence from the outset that I would improve with only a few sessions, which I did! Shari is a great listener, and is clearly very skilled in what she does. She used multiple techniques in the sessions, and always adapted them to what suited me best, whilst teaching me useful tips and support mechanisms to utilise in between sessions. Shari has also helped to ensure that I still have support mechanisms in place following my last session, by helping me to create a ‘relapse prevention plan’, and pointing me towards numerous other long-term support mechanisms, along with arranging a follow-up session for a few months’ time, demonstrative of her diligent and thorough approach. I couldn’t recommend Shari enough- she really has helped me so much over the last few weeks and I never imagined that I would be in the head space that I am having had under 10 sessions!
Response: Thanks Isobel, you have been a star ⭐️
Alex
Alex: In just 7 sessions Shari helped me find new ways of dealing with unhelpful thoughts and identify the values I want to consistently work towards. My relationship with my family is improving and I am learning to accept my feelings and let them come and go without getting hooked on thoughts that are not useful to me. Shari allowed me to move at my own pace, and adapted exercises to meet my individual needs. She made sure that I had a relapse plan in place so that I could continue my work after our sessions ended. Her approach is warm and open, yet totally focused on my goals - just what I needed to keep me moving forwards! I can’t recommend Shari and CBT highly enough.
Response: Well done Alex and thank you for your kind words :-)
bailey
bailey: Phenomenal. I contacted numerous psychologists when I encountered my problem but what made me choose Shari was her attentiveness which was a cut above the rest. In addition, she was very understanding and flexible with appointments and schedules which felt like it wasn’t just a session and that she really cared about her work. Furthermore, at the most random times Shari would send you useful things that were specific to your previous session which really made it feel like she went above and beyond with her work. I would highly recommend and if you put in the work it may surprise you just how beneficial this therapy can be.
Response: Thank you Bailey, this is lovely for me to read and really valuable feedback for my future practice. I’m so pleased that you have benefited so much, it’s been a pleasure to be part of your journey.
Luke Shepherd
Luke Shepherd: Highly recommended for those looking for guidance in difficult times. Working with Shari has given me a much more positive outlook and allowed me to take control of my life again after difficult times. She finds methods that work for you and builds on them, then ensures relapse into issues are prevented at the end.
Response: Many thanks for your review Luke, you have worked hard to become your own therapist and are doing an impressive job 🙂
Gabrielle Smith
Gabrielle Smith: Shari is an experienced therapist who goes above and beyond to support your needs and the goals that you want to achieve. During a hard time, she gave me the tools to ease my anxiety and gain back my confidence.
Response: This is great to hear, thank you. I’m really proud of what you’ve achieved. Keep up the great work and good luck 🙂
Joe
Joe: Shari has helped me massively with providing the tools and information on how to over come OCD by using CBT therapy. I couldn’t have asked for a better therapist to help me on my journey. I encourage anyone who feels they want to experience some professional guidance to contact Shari. Thankyou for helping me as a person but also providing me with the courage and determination to create my own path and not let mental health decide who I want to be! Again, Thankyou Joe
Response: Thank you Joe, this is so good to hear, I’m super proud of your hard work and it’s great to see the benefits of this. Best wishes Shari
Paul Scott
Paul Scott: I was having real difficulties when I first started my sessions with shari. But she has helped me so much and I’m very grateful. She is very patient and understanding and I can’t recommend her enough. Thank you
Response: Thank you Paul, you have worked so hard in therapy to conquer your fears and it’s great to see you experiencing the benefits. Well done and good luck 🙂
Emma
Emma: Excellent experience.I have tried therapy previously before and never made much progress with understanding my anxiety and intrusive thoughts, until I tried therapy sessions with Shari. Shari truly takes the time to understand the problems you’re facing and equip you with a varied toolkit to not only tackle your fears in the session, but in real life as well. I found her sessions to completely alter how I view my thoughts, feelings and approach to them and in turn I’ve been able to start on a path to becoming my own therapist. This kind of therapy can be effectively applied to day to day life so you’re always strengthening yourself and moving towards a life you value. I can’t thank her enough for the really important work she’s doing.
Emily Edwards
Emily Edwards: My sessions with Shari completely enriched my life. Looking back at my struggle with anxiety months ago versus who I am now, I have transformed into a better version of myself with a valued quality of life thanks to the skills she’s taught me. I cannot thank Shari enough and I highly recommend her!

St Georges Community Health Centre: what do users think?
Louise Corker
Louise Corker: I'm currently going to st George's for CBT . My worker is lovely I really like her. However I've given 2 stars based on the receptionist. I was waiting to see my worker last week and a different member of staff was in the waiting area. The receptionist said out loud " is this one yours " meaning me. I was so upset. I said I'm a person. You shouldn't refer to me like that. She made out she wasn't t talking about me at first. I challenged her and she apologized She then came over to me and apologized again. I told my worker and she said it's not acceptable. I've not formally complained . I'm there for complex trauma and I've been referred to as all sorts in my life but this is the icing on the cake. The lady I'm talking about is very very scruffy looking with unbrushed hair. She looked very dirty. Not presebtacke at all and with her attitude I definitely think she should get a different job. I'm meant to be there today but I'm not sure I feel like going because I dont want to see that receptionist again.
Shelby Birkby
Shelby Birkby: First off I got referred to this service and then discharged after 6 months after not even having an appointment. According the letter I received, I was discharged because I had not responded to an appointment letter, when I called to enquire about this (has I had not received a letter) they refused to talk to me. I enquired with my GP and they had no record of a appointment letter been sent, so the GP referred me again.Fast forward I don't know how many months, I missed a call (whilst at work) from this service. So I called back, the guy (can't remember his name) I spoke to was lovely and he informed me that I am now on a waiting list and due to Covid-19 things were taking a bit longer however I should receive an assessment in around 16 weeks. I also informed him that I have serve anxiety and will not an answer phone calls from unknown numbers but will respond to voicemails, emails and texts. He understood this and said he'd make a note on my record of this so they knew to contact me by one of these methods. So after the battle I had to even begin to get an appointment, my experience of calling to respond to a letter was degrading and rude. I received a letter stating that the team had tried to contact me on several occasions but with no success, however no-one had left me a voice mail, text or email (like I'd requested). I called St. Georges and explained to receptionist what the letter said, her response was unfriendly and she reluctantly forwarded my call onto the secretary to try and find a solution. After waiting on the phone for a good few minutes, the secretary finally answered. She was also unfriendly and was acting like it was a big inconvenience that I called and it was as if she couldn't wait to get me off the phone. I apologised several times about missing calls and explained that when I last spoke to someone, he agreed to put on my record that I don't answer unknown numbers and to leave a message. The Secretary repeatedly said this didn't matter and that the assessment appointment I could have had was now gone, I said I understood this. However she was really rude about and kept complaining that she had tried to contact me. The secretary (who didn't and wouldn't give me her name) asked who my support worker was and I explained I didn't have one, this was met with a rude and unkind response, she also asked who managed me when I was in crisis, I explained that I only had a GP and no-one that supports me. She coldly asked "do I still want their service" and I said if possible please (I thought I'd been took off the waiting list), she snapeed "I suppose that's a yes then". The secretary sighed and acted like it was an inconvenience to keep me on the waiting list, she rudely said she'd try to find me another appointment (after again reminding me that she'd tried to call me before and the appointment I could have had was now gone) and then call me back (I'll be surprised if I get a call back). I also had a few questions to ask but I gave up trying as the rude, unkind and frankly unprofessional manner put me off trying and I was made to feel like I had to end the call because I was an inconvenience and wasn't worth the time. This phone call was horrible and has now left me very anxious and paranoid about using the service. I really hope the mental health teams aren't like this and that this was just a badly trained Secretary (if you're answering the phones for mental health services, you really need to be aware that the patients may be anxious when they call).I would formally complain however I can't without their names, and when I've complained about the mental health services and their staff before I've just received a fake apology and a promise of it won't happen again however it does.
Jo Collis
Jo Collis: St George's has been my life line. The dedication of my therapist Victoria and my consultant John have been second to none. I couldn't have got through some of the very dark days I have experienced without their expertise and unconditional help and care. They are truly an inspiration to their field and st Georges. I am forever grateful. Thanks Jo

Martin David Reiki Master: what do users think?
Lucy Smith
Lucy Smith: I went for my first Reiki session with Martin recently after becoming interested in energy healing. I am a born worrier and often find negative thoughts creeping in and overwhelming me. I have no doubt that I experienced some kind of energy shift and a release of bottled up tension and fear. Martin was very good at explaining the nature of energy and how it flows around the body. He put me at ease right away and made me feel very relaxed. Since my treatment I have felt very positive and able to enjoy life in the present rather than worrying and focusing too much on the future. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to take a more holistic approach to their health and wellbeing. The body has the ability to balance and heal itself and Martin is a fantastic facilitator of this process. It's not necessary to see it to believe it, you can feel it. Thank you Martin.
Daniel Potticary
Daniel Potticary: My name is Danny from Huddersfield I have been i agony for over 12 months with neck pain, I have had every type of treatment available, I was told by my doctors I had arthritis and there is no cure, they referred me to pain management, I was desperate and depressed one session with Martin and I drove home laughing not believing I was out of pain, thank you so Much Martin, your like a breath of fresh air
Glenn Postlethwaite
Glenn Postlethwaite: Hi my name is Glenn from Sheffield , I am a 33 years old , married man with 3 wonderful beautiful children. It’s a pleasure to share my story with you , I am a manager in charge of 33 highly skilled staff involved in a technical engineering environment. I recently felt so unwell , I couldn’t function, I was having a mental breakdown , I went to the doctors and was diagnosed with depression which knocked me for 6. Once I accepted the fact I was mentally ill , which was such a massive hill to climb , I am a man , a proud upstanding man to be diagnosed with depression was making matters even worse . I needed to find help fast .. I have a home and a family to support . Then a very good friend of mine recommended I should go to see Martin David . I can honestly say I was sceptical at first but now I can’t speak highly enough of the treatment I had from Martin David and how I feel now. It’s absolutely amazing , I personally had an experience I won’t forget but also too hard to describe, the closest I can explain is feeling totally relaxed and as though water was blasting through my body exiting through my feet and washing away unwanted stress . Since going to see Martin David my attitude to life has changed , I am more creative and positive and I’m so confident it will stay that way. I have returned back to work and have the same responsibility . Thank so much Martin David , my wife , our children and our relatives also thank you.”
