Char: I went for bottomless brunch with my friends. It was £25 and I had the Tatertots. The food was great, just wish the cheese sauce was allover rather than in the middle. The portion was huge and I only managed half so shared the rest with my friend. The daiquiris were really good too. Service was brilliant!

James Kenny: This is a really querky bar, I liked the decor. The staff was really friendly and the drinks were really tasty. Shame I was going somewhere else for a meal otherwise I would have eaten there as well. From what I could see meals looked fantastic.

Craig Oxley: Awesome place! The service was excellent. The server was funny and very helpful. The chicken is amazing. The atmosphere is great with heaters you can turn on yourself. We will be back.

susana teixeira: I really liked this place. I had dinner here with friends and everyone had a great time. Food was very well presented and tasty. Kids menu has also good options. The decoration is also unique and the lights setting in the evening is very pleasant. Great location and reasonable priced.

Food is brilliant for the prices, hidden away, in Sheffield, this restaurant is perfect for couples celebrating, first date or for a group outing. That treat for a love one in the family. Tony Behan: Delicious food in a well presented former boys school building. Two flights of stairs (lift available) were very dimly lit. In contrast the restaurant tables are lit with spotlights - straight in your eyes, causing ridiculous long shadows at the table. Desserts (also delicious and well presented) were ordered with coffee to follow. The coffee, brought before the dessert, had long been drunk when desserts finally arrived. No apology or offer of refill when mentioned to the server.
Sam Milner: Beautiful bar and restaurant in a great location. Menu really good, trendy and inventive but something for everyone. Fabulous cocktails and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
Editor Maisie: Great tasty food, a bit pricey but great service and really really yummy. Atmosphere is great as everywhere is has decoration and make you feel comfortable. I recommend the broccoli, halloumi skewer and the fried onion starter, also the mock-tails are delicious.

Filip Brzoza: As a participant of a recent Christmas Ball held on these premises I must say that the place is stunning. There are many reasons for it, including beautiful decorations, helpful and friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices for alcoholic drinks. Will definitely come back at one point for a smaller dinner!

Alexandra KOHN: I would describe "The Botanist" as a hidden gem, literally. You first need to go up like 3 flights of stairs before entering the cute little restaurant that will only then reveal its magic. Right upon entry, warm and cozy lights welcome you just to lead you into a high ceiling room with lots of plants and trees. In the middle of the hall there is a pavilion that looks like those you could find in a movie. Overall, it's very homely and cozy.There is a nice selection of drinks and food, all very affordable. The food is tasty and the service fast and kind.Perfect place to meet up with friends or family if you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere. Sometimes there is also live entertainment, when I was there, they had someone singing and it made it all more magical.I truly recommend this place!!

My company visited from Canada and were looking for a fun place to either start our night or enjoy brunch, and this place filled every function. We celebrated team dinners here and also took our business partners here and it was lovely. Our server Summer was also an angel with a well versed knowledge of the menu and excellent service to make our experience memorable.We know we will have to return to Sheffield for business, but we'll be returning here next time we are in town too!

Will Aldred: Went out for a meal last night and the service was atrocious. We sat down at 8:30 and didn’t get asked for drinks for a good 40 minutes. 3 out of the 4 of us decided to have fish and chips and by the time the waitress came to us she told us they had none when she could have said when we sat down so it took another 30 min for a waitress to come back and ask for food. When the food came we didn’t have cutlery on the table. We asked for ketchup and got a little tub with two squirts in. No waitress asked how our meal was. We had to hunt down staff when we finished our meals for deserts as we didn’t get asked when our meals finished, also took about 20 mins for them to bring card machine. All in all the staff spend most of their shift in a corner chatting to eachover instead of servicing tables and very slow and lazy.

Martyn Davis: Dined here late afternoon / early Friday evening. The food was average tasting, although presented well. Service was friendly and efficient. Very little whisky in the Irish coffee. The ambience of the place was lacking for me. Too much din from all the voices having to shout above others to be heard. This got worse the busier it got. Clearly this is not a problem for some people as the place seemed popular. Probably more suitable for office parties.

Flame Kho: Had a fantastic evening meal during weekend. Friendly staff recommendation for the soup of the day and I had others straight from the menu. Meredith Grace: Absolutely fantastic place! Lovely atmosphere, they bring water to the table when you arrive which is a nice touch and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Sarah Lou: As always, had a lovely time at Ego. The menu has a wide variety of dishes, that also vary in price, along with a prix fixe menu that is excellent value. So while it can be expensive, there are also plenty of less pricey items on the menu to choose from. Every dish we have tried here has been top quality, including excellent steaks. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Always have a great time here.

iftekhar choudhury: The place looked amazing, could not fault the vicinity. Toilets good and clean, tables tidy, good size condiments, tiled look tables. Open area and booth seating areas for large groups. The waitress really need some etiquette teaching, so unpleasant to talk to and no conversation, very rude, considering with a family, who caused no fuss but we had a gluten allergy child who needed some options and the waitress was horrible. Barely made a smile,.the tension was high because she created this intense atmosphere. There was no glutenfree pizza bases that day so limited options for my daughter. Thankfully the chef had some ideas and the food for the adults was amazing, great taste and fresh!! The general area, parking and food and facilities was amazing but the welcome and waitress needs kindness training and be polite and welcoming.

Cidane CG: Hidden gem!Pizza dough tastes freshly made. The seafood platter is tremendously huge. The cous-cous tastes a bit stale while seafood is not fresh. Peter Smith: What a great place, even packed out on a Monday night. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary recently and on discovering this they greeted us with two glasses of bubbly which was a nice touch.Every course was excellent and their own named keg beer which is actually Abbeydale's Heathen (Mosaic Hop) was very welcomed.

The staff were great and very accepting of us as a family, with disabilities and complexities, but the food was middle of the road at best.Leeks with cheese foam was leeks in a heavy, dense cheese sauce, the sea bass was two overcooked, cold inch square pieces of fish, the venison was tasty but again cold, cheese board was sub-par and just boring - bright spots were the scallops and the truffle popcorn, but really bemused by the recent Michelin write up I'm afraid - had better food on Sharrow Vale :-(

From poorly mixed cocktails so crammed full of ice cubes that the cheap cardboard disintegrating straws can't drink them, through to some food that tasted on a par with what you could buy in a supermarket (avoid the pigs in blankets).The service was good. We had an efficient, courteous & attentive waitress but the 'small plates' concept of mixing, sharing food works only if it comes out in a way you can genuinely share. Also, interpretation of classics is to be expected/desired but some options were just pretentious vanity dishes (the crumble is an insult to the dessert)There is clearly skill in the kitchen but for a place of Michellin quality, there was no wow-factor and our whole party was underwhelmed.
Lynda Gray: Just dropped in and really enjoyed our visit, it wasn't what we was expecting but on viewing the menu it was a little confusing but the waitress was very knowledgeable and described the food to perfection. This is a different kind of dining as it is not the quantity that everyone is accustomed to but the quality and taste is absolutely out of this world along with the presentation. We had the four Hunters collection and two sides and that was more than enough for two. The wines are of a good quality with a good selection and the cocktails being of a high standard. It's therefore stuck in the middle and not as good as it could be for either. Jamie Roche: A bad Sunday lunch. The food was bland and overall disappointing given the expectation of good reviews and a Michelin recommendation. The roast potatoes were better described as boiled with no crunch whatsoever, the roast pork was dry and overcooked which is shocking given the fat was completely raw and unrendered and as a result no crackling, the stuffing was anaemic with no texture, and finally the gravy had little flavour and weak colour. Overall very disappointing, basic cafeteria food advertised as high end dining. Wouldn’t go again or recommend. Lazy cooking, needs a serious overhaul.

Damian Hardy: The food the service and staff are first class. Despite been part of a chain this remains as one of the best places in Sheffield to eat. We always try to get a seat in the conservatory as it can get loud in the main restaurant, needs something to absorb the sound in my opinion, regardless it’s 5 from me.
