David and Jax Parkin: Excellent treatment ... visited today for Eye surgery. Waiting time was minimal. Parking was easy, right outside the building with accessible parking spaces close to the entrance. Staff were kind, caring and really helpful. They answered all the questions I had. The building is ground floor and easily accessed. People are encouraged to wear a mask. Toilets are located just off the waiting room. Staff made a scary experience easier.

Jean Black: Just had second cataract operation and both went very well. All the staff here were absolutely lovely making you feel at ease. The Clinic was well run very professional right from the initial assessment. The actual operation was over within no time at all. Post operative had no problems at all and looking forward to not wearing distance glasses. I would highly recommend SpaMedica.

Sylvia McCormick: The majority of the staff are wonderful, the place is superb, well set up. Do not expect to be treated if you struggle with your back. I quote " We are a private hospital not set up to deal with people like you. We even get sent people in wheelchairs who we are not set up to deal with" Further if you struggle with masks as I do there is no provision for you to remove it and the staff do not wear face shields, only masks.

David and Jax Parkin: Visited this private hospital earlier this week with my mother for a first appointment to discuss cataract surgery. There is plenty of car parking with spaces quite near the door for those with mobility difficulties. There is a lift to the first floor where the assessment took place. Waiting / assessment time was approximately 3 hours. Staff were friendly and supportive. My mother was given a cancellation date for two weeks time for her surgery which I thought was really quick and efficient.
SkyChaser High: My dad is/was under the of SpaMedica care for cataracts.Great location and easy to get to just a min off the M1. Simple enough to find just look for the Yorkshire Water building.Dad has nothing but praise for the service provided.Dropped him off and they call when he is done (if it's a long appointment) never had bother parking up.
Paul Skinns: Apart from an hour wait at the beginning, could be due to many things, a really good experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the whole procedure was so relaxing I feel a sleep during the during surgery, brilliant.

Evie Reverie: Great service from the staff for the actual medical procedures but god forbid if you get there before 10 minutes to your appointment (due to the lovely 1 bus an hour schedule), its straight outside in the freezing cold and whilst its raining. Appalling place for surgeries and check ups location wise.
Deb Sheff: This is not an NHS clinic and should not be advertised as such. You charge the NHS and make a profit but to do so, you use all the referral systems paid for by the NHS, employ staff that have been trained by the NHS, and use NHS marketing.

Marilyn Howard: I visited on Monday with an eye problem that was worrying me, I was seen and dealt with within half an hour, good old NHS! The nurse practitioner who sorted me out was professional, thorough and kind, he’s a great example for nursing.

Tahira Wilkinson: Went to the eye clinic for a very bad stye which hadn't gone down for weeks. My GP referred me and when I got there the nurse was so rude to me saying I shouldn't be there and it is cosmetic surgery and they have strict protocols now. I explained my sister had been there previously with a stye and they managed to help her and she said it wouldn't have happened and she has been there for 5 years. So basically she is calling me a liar!! So rude!! I hate the place! So I have a stye that is painful and refusing to go away!

David and Jax Parkin: We've had two positive visits here in the last couple of weeks. The staff were helpful and friendly enough. We were seen promptly and pretty much to the appointment times. The outcome of the consultation has resulted in further surgery but this is to be carried out at the northern general hospital, I hope the waiting time isn't too long, we were told 2 to 3 months...we will see.
David Kay: Went this morning after my GP had contacted them. Was met by a very rude nurse/ancillary staff member called Sue; she suggested I shouldn't have been there and that my GP was incompetent for not following procedure. They had but she didn't apologize. I had done my best to avoid going to the clinic by first visiting a pharmacy, then GP and only went on their referral. I wold never be abusive to NHS staff or anyone else for that matter - surprised there is a need for signage to remind patients not to be abusive but perhaps this needs to be extended to staff members who think it is acceptable to humiliate patients and make obvious their contempt for other health care workers.

Emma K: Had to have my eye laser surgery done twice didn't work the first time, the second it was marginally better for a little while. Eyes remained dry no matter what I did. Five years later (and I was in my 20s when I had it done) and I'm back to paying for and wearing glasses. Told I can have it done again and I'd have to pay in full. Accept no responsibility at all. Absolute waste of money for me, wish I hadn't put myself through the massive cost and pain that followed for just five years....Regarding your response below, this feels like just an automatic response. I've spoken to your team who told me there's absolutely nothing they can do aside me having surgery again at my own expense. They told me it's in the small print that my eyes could change (it doesn't say in five years it says with age, I was in my 20s!!) and disputed the fact that you'd expect it to last longer than five years. They didn't care, one single bit and did nothing to help me aside try to get more money out of me!!
Dan: STAY WELL CLEAR ! ..Where do I start with the shambles in service...was told new lenses would improve vision wouldn't need glasses, paid £500 of the £7000 up front only to have appointments cancelled...then had appointment with a surgeon told 10am waited till 11:45 to be seen to be told she wasn't a retina specialist and wasn't sure if surgery would be beneficial, she didn't even have any eye drops at hand to dilate eyes and couldn't contact nurse who was downstairs gabbing with the staff at the front desk , SO she USED DROPS OPENED AN USED ON a PREVIOUS PATIENT !!!! The woman wasn't even the surgeon we was due to see and we couldn't hardly understand her poor English !...for a £7000 private service I was disgusted at the lack of hygiene/ competence/ professionalism and organization...U don't want someone who says she isn't an eye specialist cutting out YOUR lenses really do u !... cancelled hole thing because they don't seem to know what the hell they are doing AND the service was so unorganized , then because we want to cancel we get the silent treatment...no phone calls, no messages I'm trying to get refund on deposit nobody wants to call us back told refund can take up to 28 days TOOK YOU 10 SECONDS TO TAKE IT when you didn't even know if I was eligible ...total scam what a terrible service give me my refund disgusting behavior!!!

The gentleman kindly fit on a replacement frame although I didn’t ask for it. He answered all my queries and helped me through the entire process of picking out new frames. It was brilliant customer service and I would recommend anyone that needs new glasses to visit the store.

Steven Williams: I have been here a couple of times now.So much easier to get to.I was worried about parking as the main road was full of cars, on speaking to NHS staff at the top car park they stated I could gain access by driving down the next entrance.There was plenty of car park spaces specifically for the eye hub and it was free.Friendly volunteer staff to help you as soon as you arrive and professional staff to make the visit as relaxing as possible.

The man (and lady) who dealt with us engaged with my son straight away and made what is normally a difficult experience fantastic. He had him chatting away and he came out bouncing. Nothing was too much trouble and even after spending 10 mins making up their super hero football team I didn’t feel rushed out or unheard. Thank you

It was a very pleasant and comfortable experience and a lot better than the ear syringing I have had over the years at my GPs. I would highly recommend this type of ear wax removal for those who are a little unsure, definitely worth the cost for me !!

Laura Reader: I took my Nan for an eye test here yesterday, mainly because it's close to where she lives. I've previously took her to other places and didn't find the level of customer service there to what The Eye Place offered. My nan is nearly deaf and the optician was so patient and friendly with her it made her day. Would highly recommend!
