Brook Place Apartments, Sheffield, United Kingdom: what do users think?

Jeremy Fry: We spent 18 months living at Brook Place ahead of going travelling. We loved the place - the location is perfect, the apartments are well designed with a great contemporary feel and have good sized kitchens and bathrooms. As a new building the heat insulation is superb so we rarely needed the heating even in the depths of winter. Grainger is a highly professional company with a great team of staff who are always welcoming and friendly. Add in the roof terrace, gym, bike storage, concierge for parcel delivery and it’s probably hard to beat.

Martin Lever: Stayed here for 7 months 2020-21. Manager Mark and front of house staff were really helpful throughout. Thanks to them for excellent service and attention to detail. The apartments are well appointed, close to the city centre (walking 10mins) and 1 min from the action on Ecclesall Rd. My studio flat was warm in winter and my heating bills were very low during this period. Was sorry to leave Brook Place, enjoyed my time there and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of moving in.

jing li: I have a wonderful time in Brook Place! Thank you to Mark and Jack for helping me with the transfer of my contract and to Bev, Emma and Isaac for your continued help, especially with the collection of my parcel , I really appreciate it!So sad to leave Brook Place , hope you are all well my friends

Angélica Cabello: My husband and I moved to these apartments last year looking for a centric and spacious place. We didn’t find what we had on our mind, we found more than that! Brook place has given us a home, a warm place to come after a cold day. A place to start our family. A place where we found great friends that became family. Everyone in the administrative area has been lovely, very responsive, responsible and caring. Alejandro Escobar, our administrative agent in Brook Place, was the reason we decided to move here as he is very honest and great to help you find what you are looking for. Him and all the team have been always the best with us. I highly recommend this place to live!

Someone: The level of service I have received from Emma at Brook place has been above and beyond! She stayed late to help us with our check in even though we arrived late at night and nothing has been too much trouble since. These are lovely flats with great on site facilities. The gym and communal work space is kept clean and has all new equipment. Due to Covid the team have done well to set up sanitation areas. All the team have been very friendly and welcoming which has made moving to a new city much easier. Emma thank you for everything you have done and always with a smile!
Alex Holmes: Friendly and great place to live :)
Doris Zhang: Definitely a place I would recommend to others. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The building is kept very clean, and there is a wonderful common area.
Joseph Welch: The amenities, staff and buildings are really good. Staff in particular are excellent.Only issue I had in my time here is that it's a bit annoying that the communal spaces are closed early and all day on Sundays, basically makes them unusable for hosting and renders the large kitchen completely pointless.
Devika Bapat: This absolutely amazing place to stay. The staff is also very helpful. Very clean building and amazing common place

mo: Really caring and attentive accommodation team, great facilities, close access to facilities on Eccy road, London road, city centre and Sharrow, plus it's pet friendly! Best place I have rented in the city
Ragnhild Yndestad: I moved here in September, and have only positive experiences. Beautiful facilities and the staff is so lovely. I have a certain phobia against bees, and when two came through my open window I could not get them out. I told the reception, and they were so nice and understanding and came and helped me, gently taking the bees back outside. I'd given more than five stars if I could:)
Vegangie ALS: I'm in the application process at the moment for this place and the staff have been so helpful, respond quickly and are very understanding. Very easy to communicate with :)
Asmaa Saad: We 've been living in Brook Place for almost a year now and we're loving it. The apartment is very cosy and the building is secure and tidy. We feel at home and happy here thanks to the wonderful efforts from everyone in the residential team.
Ines Klepic: So happy with our experience at Brook Place! My partner and I have been living here for almost a year now, and can confidently say that this has been the best place we’ve lived at! Beautiful facilities, always clean and well maintained. The terraces are one of the best things about this place, there are lovely lounges, tables and bean bags to relax and socialise, as well as table tenis, big outdoor chess board and football table! At the ground floor there are more common social areas which are very stylish, as well as a lovely clean gym! And ofcourse the staff - this place wouldn’t be what it is if it wasn’t for the always helpful staff who put so much effort into making it nice for their residents. Really could not recommend this place more!
Carlos Brambila: Brook Place offers adequate rental accommodation with helpful on-site support from Alejandro
Rebecca Brambila: Brook Place is a great family & pet friendly place to live. The apartments are bright & airy & the building is well maintained. The reception team are always very helpful. Alejandro always answers my queries quickly.
Yuri Mejia: I'm living here from about 5 months now, the studio is warm, tidy and completely new. Alejandro helped to find the best place to spent this time for work at home.
Lidia Infante: Brook Place is an absolutely amazing place to live in. I moved to Sheffield from Barcelona during the second lockdown and I really couldn't have done it withour the support of the amazing staff here. Alejandro has been so helpful every step of the way, helping me connect with others within the building and helping me navigate life in the UK as an expat.

Katie Ward: We moved in to Brook Place a week ago after an incredibly easy and friendly letting process. The flat is perfect for us - it is warm, comfortable, quiet and clean. The WiFi is fast and reliable. Looking forward to enjoying the terraces in warmer weather! All the people who work here have been friendly and welcoming. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Park Hill Flats: what do users think?

稲垣碩人: I went to Park Hill on Tuesday. I saw appearances and aisle of this building. It is changing. It is changing from old to new. Its appearance is colourful and beautiful. It’s being modernized. In addition to, if you go up to floor, you can see beautiful scenery of Sheffield. One of interesting things is graffiti. It says “I love you. Will U marry me?” It is romantic. However, it has bad things. One of them is openness. We can see inside of rooms because the windows of this building are very big. Residents can’t do things near the windows. Rooms isn’t big. Many British people have big body. Therefore, you may feel cramped. I don’t recommend this building for living. You should choose the room by thinking how comfort it is, not by how beautiful it is. However, you can go to CityCentre easily from this building. If you want to go CityCentre frequently, this building is good for you.

Eliot Collins: Previously a site of back to back houses, the current brutalist construction was completed in 1961 as affordable housing. There is an exhibition about it in Weston Park Museum. The council moved tenants into the flats near their neighbours from the houses there before to maintain the sense of community. Although it was listed as Grade II in 1998, many people have low opinions of the buildings due to their state of apparent disrepair and neglect. The new renovations by Urban Splash are set to be finished in 2022. They stripped and rebuilt much of the building, cladding it in the iconic red, orange and yellow. There is commercial space on the ground floor and a new park near the railway station too.

liv wyk: Very nice! Lovely views, although there was this weird old police box out front that was a bit of an eyesore.

charlie williams: Classic Sheffield landmark partway through modernisation.

David S. Kim: Quite good and vivid place for residence

steve barker: Were this is England 90 was filmed gadget and Harveys flat
Matt “rodentracing”: Site manager is very helpful. Awesome architecture if you’re into that sort of thing. Car park spaces are tight.Walkways in the sky are fab, most of the refurbished flats are stunning, good office spaces. Glass lift gives nice views across Sheffield.
Rich Deerdog: Iconic flats, mostly now refurbished. You may recognise them from various films over the years.Looming presence over the city. Not shy. Modern classic.
daniele tanzi: POINT TO FLY ... IF YOU KNOW HOW TO OPEN THE PORTAL ...
Héloïse LHUINTRE: Tea at Yaz's !!
Alan Duncan: Great sat of flats
Mohammed Asif: Very convenient helpful staff
ᛏᛅᚠᚢᛁᚴᛁᚾᚴ (Deaf Viking): Good exploring when was abandoned few good photos on roof
Ali Hameed: It’s really worth to visit
Abdulrahman Almuhaidib: On the 13th of August 2019, I went there with my class and we went to the top floor to enjoy the view of the entire city of Sheffield. The compound is famous for being so big and in one of the highest areas in the city. There are more than 1000 houses other than offices.Park Hill has a very nice view of the entire city. The place seems luxurious one. I liked the glass lift.On the other hand, I didn't like the idea of putting the corridor on the view. People at their offices and houses would like to see the view from wherever they are. Why do they have to get out of their houses to enjoy the view?Personally, I think it's neither worth visiting nor a nice place to live in. I really don't suggest coming if you are afraid of heights, someone had an unpleasant time :)
Nomura Mitsuki: I went to Park Hill with my classmates and my teachers. Park Hill is famous because it has history and is colorful and beautiful. When we went to it, we went up and looked landscape which can be seen from it. We took a lot of photos.Good thing is very beautiful about it. It is big and colorful. So many people live in it. Many years ago, " I like you, will U marry me? " was written here. It is near the Sheffield station. So it is easy for people who live in it to go to somewhere. There are many bugs, for example, bee, mosquito and so on. I don't like them. So if I have lived in it, I would clear it of them.It is a great place in Sheffield, therefore, I recommend people to live in it and it is suitable for person who likes height, landscape and history and doesn't mind that there are many bugs.

Woodall Homes: what do users think?

Charlotte Watson: Positive: ResponsivenessExcellent customer service, nothing was too much bother and all queries were answered immediately. Every single member of staff were responsive and made buying a new home a great experience. Would 100% recommend!

Aishah Begum: 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You hear so many bad reviews and horror stories about new builds but Woodall homes have made my first experience a 10/10 journey, right from the first initial meeting with Fiona to actually handing the keys over! Everything was on time, the team from the sales team to the builders are always on top of any queries, repairs & just any help needed! You will always get snagging in a new build home, you have to give the property time to set, so when we have had any issues all the work has been done as and when said it would be! Literally no complaints from them with the 100000 of questions I asked to any repairs I have requested them to complete! The after care from the team is outstanding, it’s not a “they have bought the home now so let’s forget about them” they still treat you as lovely as they did from the first meeting of selling you the home! The finish of the home which we purchased is absolutely amazing! The kitchen right down to the carpets, the doors and extras offered, the quality in the build is amazing & genuinely no complaints! Me and my husband are so happy with our home and so glad we went with Woodall homes, if your thinking about purchasing from them then I would 100% recommend because you genuinely will not be disappointed as they honestly do go above and beyond to make sure all their customers are happy! Xx

Lyn Keeling: Moved in to our new home in June. A beautiful house on an equally beautiful development. All the fixtures like kitchen units, flooring etc are excellent quality. We’ve had a couple of snagging issues as we expected with a new build home but Woodhall have been excellent at rectifying these speedily. I’d buy with them again if I ever decide to move, which says everything.

F T: We have reserved a property with Woodall and have received excellent customer service from George, Fiona and the team! We have not once been made to feel as if anything was too much trouble in the run up to putting our reservation down. We had looked at other developers in Derbyshire but after a lot of looking around Woodall are definitely of the highest standard and specification. Would highly recommend!

Gleeson Homes (Head Office): what do users think?
bryan s: Critical:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueAvoid this firm should be closed absolute bunch of cowboys
sarah !: Service:Home addition constructionCritical:Quality
diane reardon: Bought my house from them 2021 absolutely devastated with all the issues including having to move out for 6 month for the house to be repaired due to drains flooding my home. Terrible after care. Took over 12 months to admit there was a problem until the final flood in which I lost most of my possessions. Don't buy Gleeson houses in my opinion not worth the stress.Services:Home building,General plumbing services,Exterior finishing
KINGBILLY616: Do not buy from this housing developer they are terrible.
Daniel Catton: No answer
Susan Fox: Bought aCork house been in it 6 month and I have 3 faults they said Ibeen in the house to long for them to do anythingWe were told we had a 12 month cover from gleesons what a load of rubbish they talk, I wish I'd never heard of gleesons
Jonty Green: Service:Tiny home buildingCritical:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
Bailey: Service:General repairs maintenanceCritical:Professionalism,Quality,Value
Steven Chivers: We moved into our new house at end of November since we moved in none of staff seem to care anymore once the sale of house went through and keys where handed over they don't care. Most of the snagging which tbh is just very bad workmanship still needs sorting but if they didn't fit damaged worktops and kitchen cabinets to start with then they wouldn't have to replace them. Overall just a really bad experience all together plus road constantly full of sludge and mud because road never gets sept like we said it would be.
Joanna Arnold: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
J Roberts: Critical:ProfessionalismAbsoloute pirates.
Jayne Evans: No reply after a week answering our query about buying from them
Rana Usman: Critical:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueGreat service until they have your money, then the customer service stops. Waiting for 11 months now to get Default fix nothing happens very disappointed unprofessional staff
Emma Johnson: Amazing service
Allison Richardson: Show home workmanship very poor.
graeme turner: Not very responding to your complaintsSeem to get pushed under the carpetsAnd there response of 5 day acknowledgement is a jokeStill waiting after 4 week complaints
James Brown: After dealing with a member of staff at head office I would not recommend this company. Behaviour was rude and out of order.
pamela collier: Very friendly service
Paul Gartlan: Tossers never answer phone
Jhenifer Nogueira: Positive:Professionalism,Responsiveness,Valuewe couldn't be happier, all our waiting was rewarded, our house is wonderful and we thank the whole team that took care of our process, but especially our site manager Paul and our sales advisor Lynne (Lindswood Park). Thanks for everything, you were amazing.
Zack Vehit: Absolutely awful company to deal with. They are not interest in anything other that making a profit from houses that are built using shoddy craftsmanship and shoddy skill. Absolutely disgusting attitude towards buyers who have had issues and have requested that they be corrected. I have ended up having to have solicitors involved on numerous occasions regarding defects in and around the house including subsidence and electrical issues, some of which arose due to numerous leaks under, sinks, shower trays and toilets! Overall, disgusting.

Sky-House Co: what do users think?
S OH: My experience with Sky-House Co has been above what I would expect for a new house builder. I've bought a new home before, and there was a lengthy delay of 18 months, so I'm familiar with the issues which are most likely out of the developers control. Our house is incredibly well designed, solid, warm and sturdy. The local area is beautiful, and as young buyers, we are surprised to admit we might have even found our forever home. The team have always been very understanding, they have offered a lot of time and empathy towards any concerns I may have had. I am very proud owner indeed. One thing to point out is the timescale, although we were waiting five months longer than the original estimated completion date, this in my opinion is to be expected. My advice to all potential buyers, when purchasing a new build off-plan, is always expect that you'll be waiting for the house to be built and you'll be rewarded in the end with more bang for you buck and money will be saved. Finally, I'd like to point out the customer service. The responses we've received have been snappy, and someone is always on the other end of the phone (no automated call managers here). The service has felt intimate, and everyone is friendly and I can tell there is a deep level of genuine care. All in all, Sky-House has been a great choice.
Hope Robison: Buying our Sky-House in Waverley was one of the best decisions we have ever made. We moved in 2019 and still love it 3 years later. Our home is lovely and bright, we love the size of the windows and the small details that set them about from everyday new builds.
Lorna Grace Vibert: I moved into a sky-house terrace, advertised as a sustainable and low running-cost house finished over 3 months later than originally planned in April 2022 This was supposed to be my final house move, into a development where the advertised ethos matched my own as far as sustainability and green credentials stood. I’ve now been in for ten months and what a total disappointment. The Solar panels, promising reduced power bills, are the lowest and cheapest that the providers do, they told me so themselves. They are not, and can not, be registered and so any unused power (if there is any) goes straight to the grid for nothing and we can’t get paid for it; there’s no sunlight on them in the afternoon due to overhanging trees. Once in I was told they’d probably generate enough to keep my background standby devices running, and maybe a washing machine or dishwasher once in the morning in the summer. Heating is electric radiators only, sort of controlled by an incredibly badly documented app - they appear to have a life of their own, then costing an astronomical amount to run. (£87 a week for single person occupancy in a “well insulated” brand-new mid terrace property). I’ve had to put draught proofing tape, a roll at the bottom and curtains in front of front door to fix the howling gale that comes through, also at French doors to the rear. I was told that this only happens when the wind’s in the wrong direction so isn’t a fault. The promised super double glazing isn’t “super”.The Kers heat pump system for “incredibly low cost” hot water apparently needs a temperature of 18 to function correctly. I can’t afford to keep my house that warm!Customer Service is dire and after the appointment of a new customer service manager it’s gone even further downhill and is now appalling. My garden had standing water for months and when it began to rain was under water. I sent videos of water rushing down the wrongly angled back pathway under my back gate, and stills of the lawn under centimetres of water but nothing happened until my male next door neighbour complained. They then repaired an open drainage pipe and put extra drains into HIS garden. They didn’t do mine. After a further complaint they put drains in mine, wrongly angled path remains, lawn ruined by waterlogging.Only one of the 7 Solar lights along the back pathway works, I’ve reported it, nothing has ever happened. The car park is too small and it can incredibly difficult to manoeuvre into space, yet silver birch planted behind which could’ve been tarmac and used as car parking. Advertised well-lit car park non existentThe drive is too steep.Brochure stated each house was provided with a digital aerial. I was told I just needed to plug in the TV in the sitting room and three bedrooms ( although the bedroom ones located where the wardrobes go ). There’s no aerial and no wiring. If I plug in the aerial socket nothing happens. Inside aerial doesn’t work either. They say it wasn’t promised. It’s in the brochure with one or two other things that never appeared like the stainless steel low energy hob. Replaced by a 13a induction hob which doesn’t recognise small pans, and only allows one ring at full power and one at a level of 3 ( out of 9).Loos block up & a nasty brown sludge remains for a few days after. This sludge was present when I moved in. I’ve was told to clean my toilet with bleach and drain cleaner.Upper floors light circuit blew after Xmas. Sparks has been, needs a mate in order to fix. Now scheduled for 20 Feb so am using a spur from the light switch in the airing cupboard to a trailing 4 gang socket on my landing to power the upstairs lights.Other residents have had leaking roofs and a multitude of other problemsThese are the major issues; I could go on but why bore you any longer, this gives you the flavour of this award winning (how?) building company
L H: A company that has a glossy exterior with little substance behind the scenes. We reserved our plot in 2021. Sky house have repeatedly told us we ‘reserved very early’ as justification for numerous delays we have experienced. We were also told we should be thankful we reserved when we did, as the asking prices have since increased. We didn’t reserve early, we reserved when the plots became available, at the price they were available.Updates are very rarely shared. Since reserving, we have received very few photographs of the interior of the property and zero phone calls. We have been within several days of completion, to be told there is almost a one month delay over email. Our house has been almost two years in the making, and we are still without a confirmed move in date. Our personal items are in storage, we are living with family and there is little to suggest sky house are a compassionate organisation. They regularly use the excuse they are not a ‘national house builder’, which seems bizarre given they will have a smaller customer base, and therefore you would imagine are able to dedicate more time to each customer. Very disappointing. I hope this will change in the near future.
Thomas Nicholson: What a joke of a company! The house is 9 months late and they currently cannot give me a completion date. I have been forced to move into temporary rented accommodation which I initially thought would only be for a month or so but is starting to feel like I'll be here forever! I would not recommend this builder to anyone they have really messed with mine and my partners mental health.
Bobby B: Reserved a house in Spring 2021 originally told completion date August 2022 currently no sign of the house being anywhere near finished, my mortgage offer has expired and now the developer is saying they won’t give me my deposit back. Avoid these cowboys!!!
Dennis Gillibrand: Excellent company
Kate Grigsby: Really disappointing experience with Sky House. I know new builds can be delayed but the completion date has been pushed backed 7 months. We’ve only got these details through repeated contact. The company have not been transparent or provided timely updates. When we’ve complained they have no empathy and don’t provide detail nor reasoning. We feel like we will never move into our promised new home.Edit: We actually pulled out of purchasing with Skyhouse. The developer we have gone with could not have been more different. The house is ready on time and the customer service is excellent. The Skyhouse is still not ready, around 8 months later! We aren't the only ones either, this isn't an isolated incident. I would definitely avoid.
Arne Warrilow: Excellent properties and amazing company to work with

St Paul's City Lofts.: what do users think?
waqas hasan: There is no denying the location and arrangement if the building. However it lacks maintenance and one if the lifts is almost always broken. One cannot take the stairs upto the 32nd floor and residents are highly dependent on this lift. The picture shown is depicting the lift that was broken 2 weeks ago and as I write this review there seems no schedule apparent to fix it and conceirge are not aware of any date in the forseeable future this could be fixed. Perhaps a miracle could happen and it gets auto fixed, but paying such a high rent and council tax you really dont get your value of investment.

Apollo Residence: what do users think?
Lin: I've never lost a parcel since living at Apollo. Jessica at reception is very nice and can answer all questions patiently. It is a great choice for living.
Erin Li: We were having fun and full of joy to decorate the easter eggs!❤️
Tahmina T: My experience with YPP (Sheffield) has been fantastic since the beginning. The flats come in great conditions, and the staff members are absolutely wonderful with information and maintenance wise. The location is a bonus.
Beth Martin: Apollo is a great place to live, everyone is so friendly. Jessica on the front desk goes above and beyond in everything she does. Whether that be decorating for seasonal events or just general communication. On the rare occasion, if there is any issues the maintenance team are efficient at fixing them. Overall, such a lovely place to live.
M A: I have moved out from this property from August, it is now October and I have not still received my deposit back. Not only that, they are charging me £300 for cleaning, although I have left the apartment cleaner than I first received it. Also, they are charging me for re-decoration and damages for things that were already present before and are listed in the check-in inventory.I still haven't got the deposit and they already have deducted more than £400 and giving me the worst excuses ever. In the emails, their sayings keep changing and apparently they do not seem to care about it at all.I'm truly unsatisfied with this situation and all of this got me really disappointed with this property. They are robbing my money, so watch out for yours and do not get fooled. If you are staying there, I would suggest you take a picture of everything as evidence because theses people will take every chance they got to take money from your deposit.
Dhuha Aaa: I love Apollo, great place & friendly ReceptionistThe problem is they are kept raising the pricesAlso if you want to renew your contract and you don't have a guarantorYou will have to pay 3 months for the new contract even if you have to pay the 3 months for your current contract (at the same time!
Zoe Poole: Maintenance crew Damon and Gary were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for helping sort out my flat :)
Meshal Almutairi: My experience with Apollo Residence was amazing, everything was great, the staff were very helpful especially Jessica Smart, she is very supportive and welcoming, she is really a great person helped me a lot in many issues, I highly recommend Apollo Residence for everyone. The only thing that I didn’t like during my stay in Apollo Residence is the noise which comes from outside the building from I think a night club nearby, but this has nothing to do with Apollo Residence.Last but not least, the location is the best as it is in the heart of Sheffield city, near to all facilities ( train station, restaurants, supermarkets, cinemas, etc),
Kendel Glapion: Jessica Smart has made my experience here at Apollo Residence one to remember. She always shows great enthusiasm and willingly to go above and beyond with her help & generosity. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me.
SAMUEL HOLMES: Called out maintenance yesterday to fix an issue with my flat. Gary arrived today and completed the job quickly and efficiently. Displayed excellent customer service and was both polite/courteous. Jess and Travis alongside Cheryl from the Leeds office have also been incredibly helpful throughout the entirety of our tenancy. This building is a great option for anybody looking for a city centre apartment.
Samira Farida. S: Jessica at the front desk is the most adorable and pleasant lady ever ! Always in smiles and ready to help always ! She never grumbles . Thanks you Jessica
Rahul Mahey: Garry from the YPP Maintenance team was very polite and fixed the problem promptly, really appreciate the fast response and his welcome manner thank you
Olivia Rao: Onyx Residence I live in is really a nice apartment which almost have everything I need and want, well organized, convenient, cheap with a washing machine!! What could I ask for! And Travis is a really nice and warm guy who’s really kind and easy going, I’m glad that I’ve had a really experience here.
Bilyana Icheva: Big thanks to Garry, who took great care of the issue in our flat and sorted it the same day !
mustafa alsalem: The overall experience with this place has been a nightmare. When we first moved in, the moving date was delayed for weeks as the building was not ready. It did not stop there, maintenance work continued for at least another month compromising our privacy. It felt like a museum seeing workers in my flat almost in a daily basis in some weeks. Speaking of a museum, the flat was put online for viewing almost nine months before the tenancy end date, even in the beginning of the pandemic. Apparently this is somehow normal. Last but not least, after almost five weeks of the end of tenancy, we still have not received our deposit back. Thank you YPP!
Hyejeong AN: One of my windows didn't close properly but the day after Garry came in and closed the window for me. He was very kind and polite during the visit. Great maintenance service!
Farida Mohammed: Garry, Fixed the faulty chairsHe was Very polite and did a good job.
Joshua Haigh: Really good maintenance service from Garry at Apollo. Came in and fixed a tap and two door handles in no time at all and was very friendly during his visit.
Chih-Ting Hsu: Please check all of the one star comments before you rent.God blesses you.同志們考慮清楚喔 : )
Jack Herbert: DO NOT RENT WITH YPP!I've been living here since October 2019,. I would give zero stars if I could. They have been terrible from start to finish. They first delay the move-in date FOUR TIMES, putting tenants in a hotel with insufficient compensation, then they move tenants into the building which is not finished. For the first few months, we were woken up by workers outside on scaffolding doing construction work. This is my experience as of March 2020: The fire alarm goes off all the time (I've been woken up on many occasions). There are still maintenance problems. The maintenance guy is super nice, but why are there still problems in March? They still have scaffolding and a gate from the construction site on one side of the building. It's very clear that they rushed the building to get tenants in (and they were still late!), but the issue is that it shows very clearly. Moreover, the windows in this building are from the previous office block. So, they are over 50 years old. They let in loads of noise and draft. YPP will tell you the noise is due to where it is situated; that's not true. It's due to the awful windows that they don't fancy replacing. How do I know this? Because when I was staying at the hotel just across the street, there was a huge difference in the amount of noise you can hear from the streets. We've also had workers coming into our flat to switch off the water because of serious leaks. This has happened on several occasions. It also took them months to sort out an issue with the radiators which affected most, if not all, apartments. This place used to be an office block. It really feels like it too. It's a poor attempt at a refurbishment.YPP are a company that spends money on the superficial stuff. They are happy to put sweets on the counter at reception and throw a welcome party, for example. But when it comes to sorting out problems, nothing is their fault. I have not heard them take responsibility once. The management are terrible. The truth is that the apartments at Apollo Residence are nowhere near worth the amount YPP are advertising. If you live here, you will be calling maintenance regularly, you will also be woken up by the fire alarm regularly... You have been warned! The building is well-situated, but you can find FAR nicer and cheaper places than this. Do yourself a favour and stay clear of YPP.
Zoi Pisourika: Although there was a delay in our move in date because of the building developers, which was frustrating, the staff really helped us to settle in and fix any issues we had at the beginning. The flats are very cozy and well designed, while also very warm so I definitely recommend Apollo Residence for anyone wanting to live in Sheffield city Centre!
