Daphne D: It’s a lovely jazz bar. Good atmosphere, very quiet. I mean it’s not a noisy bar. The day I went to had a live jazz performance, which is quite nice. It’s a good place to chill with your friends and enjoy jazz. Drinks are nice. Quite strong for me, but I liked it! Nibbles are a bit expensive though. Not suitable for sharing. Good experience!
Boglárka Rácz: Great atmosphere, kind and caring service. Delicious menu with tasting plates, wide range of gin and other lovely cocktails. Highly recommend their wine tasting events!
Andrew Davies: Had a meal here for a birthday celebration and experience was very good. Especially loved the desserts, the food plates are small but not overly small so still a decent portion. Staff were very friendly and the live jazz band was a lovely addition to the atmosphere. Car parking on street is expensive but there is a much cheaper car park literally one street behind it. If I had to make a suggestion we had steak but would have been good to be asked how we wanted it as I prefer mine quite well done but it was still enjoyable.
Carlos Peralta: We went to the Trippets last night with my wife and a group of friends for her birthday’s drinks. It had a great atmosphere with live jazz, great selection of drinks and a professional and friendly customer service. The manager and our Greek waitress ensured our night out was enjoyable and relaxed, and brought my wife’s birthday cake and candles at the right moment. This was my second time there, and will definitively come back soon.

They have live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, they also have a Sunday brunch which is great. Such good quality drinks, served by Debbie and the team. Mike Clifford: Nice team but the menu was disappointing, some odd combinations, which tasted ok. Wine choice was poor. Partly our fault as we were looking for a nice restaurant for a family meal, this place was recommended as we were from out of town, but it was not what we were expecting. Would not go again.

Jo Bailey: We absolutely love Trippets, and have been going since they opened seven years ago, we always have a brilliant time. The bar is extremely well stocked with so many gins, fabulous wines, quality beers and lagers, Debbie and the team keep the drinks coming. Carl the chef produces fantastic food, the quality is excellent and the menu changes regularly. They have live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, also Sunday brunch. It's always a pleasure and everyone receives a warm welcome.

Kir Turner: Visited at the recommendation of friends. Plenty of drinks to choose from, some interesting options to try! Live music was playing when we arrived, which changed during our visit. Was good to experience both. Definitely would recommend visiting
Len: They’re not allies for young women. I knocked over a beverage on the bar which lead to who I assume to be the bar manager - a ginger haired woman having me removed from the venue, which in my eyes is fair enough. Once I was removed the security staff left to return back inside the venue. My friends are heavy smokers as am I, so I was able to catch their attention to move onto the next destination. I dread to imagine what could have potentially happened if I was in a more vulnerable or intoxicated state left in the street without being able to contact a friend. It’s 2022 West Street Live, we need a safe space for women not to be left in vulnerable positions.
Megan: Disgusting and dangerous behaviour from security I was enjoying a night out with some friends when a bartender told security I was “too drunk” while ordering at the bar, which was definitely not the case as I had only had 2 drinks. I was escorted out immediately and not allowed to collect my belongings or talk to the friends I went out with. I couldn’t go home as my house keys and phone were in my bag which I left inside but was not allowed to collect. Several other patrons tried to help me but were all dismissed by the security guards who brushed me off as an “attention seeker”. I told a security guard the name of my friends who I was out with to help me find my bag, and he returned and told me that there was no one in the venue with those names, claiming that I was lying for attention. He was luckily proven wrong when my friends came looking for me, but his actions would have been extremely dangerous to another young person in my situation who was stranded alone and then lied to that they were on their own. I spent between 30 and 40 minutes stood outside the venue waiting for my friends to realise I was outside as I had no way of contacting them, during which time the female security guard repeatedly called me a ‘petulant child’ and a drunk for not simply leaving. The actions of these security guards and the bartender involved I find totally disgusting and reprehensible, with absolutely no care for the people they are dealing with. During this ordeal I talked to an older woman who had similarly been kicked out for having tomorrow’s lunch in her backpack which was deemed suspicious by the same security guards. This is absolutely ridiculous and in desperate need of a change, as I fear much more damage could be done by these people due to their attitude and lack of care. I am lucky I was out with people who were able to confirm my story to security and bring me my belongings, but the night could have ended much differently if security had their way with me leaving without my belongings, determined to prove that I was lying. The behaviour of the security guards I dealt with was self-serving and irresponsible, and should not be allowed to continue.
phoebe matthews: Doesn’t even deserve one star, bouncers are awful completely disgusting service having worked in a nightclub I know the work that goes into looking after drunks but the way we where treated was vile. I was verbally attacked by several men when I was protected by others we where the ones removed will be taking this further.

But then they were pulled aside again and even taken to the managers office where they were shown security footage of them dancing as a flat. In this footage they were not stealing anything, it was just them dancing and having fun, yet the boys were kicked out anyway despite it being clear that they had done nothing wrong. Do not go to this club.

Emily Higham: my friends were racially profiled here last night. on two occasions they were pulled outside and searched. clearly they had nothing on them but their own personal belongings. on the second time they were shown cctv photos of them “stealing phones” except all that was in these photos was our group dancing. the group are literally on one of their home screens to prove this. after being searched for a second time, again with none of these “stolen phones” being found , they were kicked out. not sure if it was management or security themselves responsible for this but either way it is disgusting behaviour from a place we used to love. don’t give your money to this place, avoid it.

They was no warning at all. I bounder took exception to me i was then thrown to the ground, kicked in the lower looking at him. He said "don't eyeball me". I commented on his attitude to which I was then dragged outside the venue, by my neck. I was kicked in the back and head by a guy in a gray hoodie and his mates. The bouncers who are there to protect the public did nothing to stop me been assaulted. Absolutely disgusting place and extremely dangerous.dosnt help when a female doorstaff goads people and uses profanity and racist remarks. Stay away from this venue. It should be closed down.

Freya Glazebrook: Great student drinks prices (with your student card) and a lively atmosphere with a lot of character! Decent live music on at the weekends and fun bingo/quiz events on during the week. Would recommend everyone visiting at least once :)

This was seemingly played, on mobile phones. No paper or pencil in sight !. A world I am slightly unfamiliar with !. Power to the young folk I say. Lucy Scruton: I love Mollys, the bar staff and drinks are great. However, the bouncers are HORRID! You should be ashamed of yourselves with how you treated my friend. Shouting at her when my friend was clearly in distress because of a man in the bar being creepy. She had an anxiety attack because the bouncers were yelling at her to take her drink inside and move out of the way. Honestly, vile behaviour.

Jack Grundy: I visited molly malones whilst at university in Sheffield, and I had an amazing time. The music selection catered for all audiences and the drinks prices were great for students. All the staff were very helpful and I would definitely go back.

Louise: Horrific transphobia amongst bouncers.Went out in a large group of around 15 and everyone was admitted entry other than our trans friend who was the only sober one. We asked them to give a reason why and all they could come up with was come back in half an hour. They said she wasn’t stumbling or slurring her words and couldn’t provide any explanation to the denial of the entry. When the rest of the group came out to join us the bouncers went to other establishments down west street and told them to not admit our friend either. We were visibly upset but not rowdy or agressive when discussing this with them and the only explanation we could come up with is blatant transphobia. Horrible night that has ramifications beyond the bouncers imagination to our friend who is likely to be affected by this situation for years to come

Really reasonably priced and the team were very accommodating and flexible with regards to furniture, food and music. It was a great night, just what we wanted. Thank you!

Shauna T R Naylor: I really liked this gig space. It felt small and intimate yet spacious enough to get away from the action for a breather if I wanted to. The bar staff were super lovely and welcoming and I felt it was a very non judgemental safe space. Well done to the staff and managers.

Georgia Kennewell: For my birthday, I purchased tickets for Shy Fx and went here last night. Upon arrival, the staff were very helpful and the bar was great. As we waited to show our tickets and have our ids scanned, I noticed there were no bag checks or pat-downs. People were being let in with bum bags which could have had anything in. There was a sniffer dog on-site but people could have been carrying weapons with them. I was having a great time in the first hour, but then I noticed more and more people appearing around me. As soon as Shy fx came on stage, the place became cramped, and as the night went on, I was pushed into the barriers at the front, I was getting drinks thrown at me, and people were pulling my hair. In my panic, I had to push a group of people behind me because I couldn't breathe at one point. Walking out of the venue took a while as the venue was so packed. I accidentally pushed people over because there was no room to move. People fell and drinks were all over the floor, making it difficult to walk out. Several bruises cover my body due to people hitting me by accident. I understand that raves are supposed to be chaotic, but they shouldn't get to the point where people are getting squashed and hurt. The fact that I had to leave just over an hour into the show was really disappointing and upsetting to me, I was so excited to see Shy FX and it is a shame that I could not even dance or have a good time when he was performing.
James Ratcliffe: Nice safe atmosphere and cheap drinks compared to other clubs. Unfortunately caught a horrible illness and was off work for a week after. Probably wasn't worth it for ABBA.

Dave Thompson: It gets a 3 because of 2 things. 1) the reasonably priced drinks and 2) the music on this occasion. (Craig Charles - out of this world) The negative biggest for me was the dance floor. People were dancing with drinks in their hands with drink spilling over onto the floor making it slippy at best and sticky at worst. Atrocious behaviour to what could have been a decent platform for strutting your stuff.
Isaac: Expensieve drinks for a students union and the venue has no character. Bouncers are really chill though and they have a good variety of events.

Ed Brown: We have just come back from seeing "judge jules live" and we really enjoyed ourselves. We had no problems with security, and despite what we had heard about the gatecrasher events held there, the bar prices were very reasonable. It's a great underground feel and is a decent size club with 3 arenas. There is an ncp carpark right opposite which is very handy if you are traveling by car. I wouldn't hesitate to go to another event here.

Nick Clayton: Brilliant intimate little venue that is all about the music. Thumping basement with superb acoustics and a cool relaxing bar upstairs. They always match the bands up well for each night, so that if you head there for one specific act, you'll probably like the others.

Mason Sargeant: I held my Album launch party here in May and whilst it is a cosy venue, it's one of my favourite places to play. It's very easy to get this filled with people and the atmosphere created here on that night was something I'll never forget.Not only that but the fact that upstairs has the bar and a range of foods just adds to why this is one of Sheffield's premier live music venues.

I love in the apartment complex across the road, and it can be heard up to the 12th floor it's so loud. Lost many nights of sleep to this place, and the staff are so rude.
