Sport Sheffield: what do users think?

Anika Chowdhury: Decent medium-sized gym with two floors. It can get really busy at peak times so you can’t always use the machines you want. There’s a swimming pool which is a bonus! It costs me £33 monthly since I’m not a student and an extra £39 for swimming lessons which is not included in the monthly membership. Very expensive in my opinion, which is why I’ve given it 4-stars but staff are nice and friendly!

Avik Mukherjee: Great sporting facilities, from football, squash, swimming and what not. The gym is very well equipped and the staff members are very helpful. Always emails well in advance in case of any changes in the schedule. Convenient opening hours and plenty of on-street parking are just icings on the cake.

King Edwards Swimming Pool: what do users think?

Dr.Akhilesh Kirane: I visited for parent-toddler session with my 2 year old. Nice and clean pool, it was a weekday but there were about 15-18 children with their parents, no long waits - changing rooms are good. Poolside temperature is well controlled, water temperature is excellent. Lots of seating arrangements poolside. Loads of floats and toys in the pool, max depth 1.3 meters with gradual slopes from both sides. We could see three lifeguards on duty and they seemed quite friendly. Anti-slip mats and floorings in place everywhere. Two minor suggestions - Prams or buggies could be taken to poolside but no ramp at the entrance, will help if we can have that. Parent- toddler sessions could also be scheduled on weekends.

Kelly Knight: A very nice pool. My first visit and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The changing rooms were nice and clean and the pool was lovely is a little on the warm side. I’m still getting used to swimming in a longer length pool and as the deepest section is only 1.4m It’s a good pool to practice in. I also like that you don’t have to book like most other pools in Sheffield.

Andrew Burgar: Love the over 50s swimming. Staff very friendly. Good crowd. Baths ideal for my limited ability. I can just have gentle swim within my capabilities - no one cares how good or bad you are. All in all a nice session.

Lizi Attwood: This is a great pool for kids as it is shallow at both ends (slightly deeper in the middle) and kept very warm. The facilities are very basic, no lockers but you can just carry your stuff through and leave it at the side of the pool. There is a great selection of lessons and activities here including a laid back adults lesson on Monday nights.

Sam Barthram: Boiling hot but kids love it. Needs updating

Helen Jesse: Good changing rooms, warm water, lots of toys in water for toddler session. Little one loved it. I just wish there was parking

Daniel Okuo: friendly staff.warm pool in winter
Richard Munoz: Sons have learned to swim here. They are both much more confident in the sea and other swimming pools
Phoebe Cooper: Lovely swimming pool, went with my baby and he loved it, the pool was filled with beautiful floats and balls, which he loved! The changing rooms were really warm which made getting changed less stressful.
Lindsey Bielby: Booked our daughter’s birthday party. You get one hour but that includes getting changed, a swimming test for each child individually and changing time at the end. The pressure for one child of the ‘test’ was enough to leave her in tears and some of the children who showed they could swim were told to wear armbands “in case they get tired”. The test took 15 minutes as each child had to swim up to 4 widths individually which eats into your hour and we were told to get out of the pool with 15 mins left of the session - this meant we only had 30 mins swimming of an hour booking at a cost of £100. When we asked if we might stay in for another 5 minutes the lifeguard started crying! Also we were allowed to bring a cake in but not allowed to cut it in there. Very rude lifeguard and absolutely no flexibility. Would never recommend for a party booking. Very disappointing.
Joanne Burgar: Great over 50's swimming for which I just qualify😁👍🏊‍♀️UPDATE.....I just managed over 1,000m today and the pool is as good as it always is👍😁🎉
Vic: The changing areas (i went into) was very clean. I usually have issues with swimming pools and dirt on the floor from peoples outside shoes but with this swimming pool that wasn't an issue. Very reasonable prices the student price is under a fiver which is cheaper then other swimming pools I've been to. The staff are friendly with the little interaction's I have had with them. The loyalty card they give (every seventh time is free) is great way to get people (ie me) to come back regularly although their membership would only be worth while if you plan on going more then once a week. All in all great swimming I frequent often
msarhsh 1309: very clean swimming pool. i always saw the staff clean the changing room and spray the chairs.
jessica nettleton: No disabled access or way up stairs for prams
Debbie Fieldsend: Great pool for little ones!

Ethan ren: In King Edwards Swimming Pool, I didn't feel any goodwill and friendly treatment, Without any help, I have been discriminated against,Choose swimming here very regret, Children swimming for the first time we felt very unfriendly, Behind me to change to another more fundamental curriculum, My child was a little afraid of water, Teachers ignore us,They not provide any help, I was traumatized. I felt unfriendly discrimination in three courses. When I wanted to cancel my course, But they told me no return money back。
terry needham: Great place nice and clean
Michael Hughes: Cold and very wet!!
Stuart Brown: Our children love the swimming lessons here. The staff here are fantastic. Would highly recommend coming here. 👍
Weebrahim: A nice quaint swimming pool :D not the busiest but that's for the best, you want all the space you can get, love the fact that you don't require booking although maybe the pricing can be much for a lot of people, but hey it goes to charity too
Mischa van Kesteren: The parent we've toddler swim sessions are great
Sarah Lydia: Good pool!
David Kemp: We hired this pool for a kids party. IT'S AMAZING.
Rob Marston: Old fashioned swimming baths offering lessons. Friendly staff and very clean changing rooms, showers etc.

Zest Centre: what do users think?

marcia powell: Gym swimming pool cafe library love it here

Peter William Clayton: Started my management of depression course. Hope the rest of the course goes as well as the first session.

Luke Bailey: Lovely help from Mr Khan. Great advice helped me and kids through a tough time 👍the good lad needs a raise I’ll tell ya now..,

Jodie Downs: Staff are friendly and helpful with anything that you may need while using the centre. The cafe Is great when open and saves tonnes of food waste. The gym and pool are back open with hourly slots that you can book by the app, which they tell you about, and is cleaned and sanitised between sessions.

Emma S: Lovely visit to the Zest centre to collect some Foodworks meals and have a slice of cake and a cuppa. Also had a look at the library and swimming pool which looks great. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Rachel Parnham: A fantastic community space - have just joined the pool as a member - whilst the pool is not the biggest, it is by far the best value option for swimming regularly near to where i live.

Nicola Preston: Love the swimming bath here - great for lessons with children and babies. Water is warmer than many pools which is great for little ones. The cafe is well run and an interesting concept. We use the library here regularly and love the children’s area.

Dianne Dogwalker: Citrus cafe rocks! Who would believe the great work of this project food cafe using ingredients that would go into a landfill otherwise. The ratatouille was the best I have tasted, from many times. I have made a donation to the crowd funding page as I am.so impressed with the whole project. The staff are great too. You will not be disappointed to support such a wonderful resource.
Tracy Jarrett: Wonderful amazing place a great access to the community
John Anderson: Great community pool - friendly, good value and nice facilities. Recommended.
Beverley Lancaster: Great centre
annette greaves: Very accessible for all disabilities
pauline harper: Idea for toddlers and elderly, disabled due to nice water temperature. Helpful staff
Nicola P: Love the swimming baths here. Water is usually warmer than average. Great place to take babies/toddlers and children for lessons.
Nathan Baskerville: I've since moved away but I miss zest! I found most of the staff welcoming and helpful. The gym membership was cost effective and had all of the basic equipment that you'd need. Zest is a wonderful service serving its local community with something for everybody, including a library, computers, meeting areas, swimming pool sessions, low cost cafe and local services for people in need. It's a true hub for the community and a gem in these recent times where services like these are being cut back and defunded. Thank you for all of the hard work zest staff.
Shaun: Brilliant 👏 place.Easy access pool.Friendly staff.Sometimes quiet session can get a bit busy.Café Great too.
Ella Godfrey: Good community hub with friendly staff. I use the gym which is limited but does the job. It's quite small but not too busy
Joe Collins: Good place for swimming and exercise. Friendly helpful staff. Good cafe at very reasonable prices.
david warwick: Good range of facilities
Dmitri Armitage: Great centre with a very cheap gym and pool. Definitely would recommend.
Ethan Mcmanus: Great swimming coaches 👌
Janet Pike: Great for small meetings
wafaa omar: مكان جميل
brenda whitehead: Brilliant can't fault it from going through front door to leaving,Brilliant staff 👍
Karīna: Very supportive staff
Stephen Jones: Great 👍
F12 G11: Friendly people. The point was the most community around the library is Arab who speaks Arabic. If Zest library considered the "inclusion " concept, they would make the books representing the community living around. I was surprised to see no one single Arabic book! I'm sure they would be positive toward this idea 💡.

Concord Sports Centre: what do users think?

Lucy m: Was there for a dance competition and the floor is big and clean. The staff were very attentive and were on hand to help to signpost people where they need to go. Great cobs and coffee on offer.

Krystian Wika: Free car park and two good squash courts. It would be worth to refurbish them soon though.

Linda short: Went here for physio, not for sports facilities. No problems, plenty of parking.

Antony Leach: We use concord because we play badminton 2 or 3 times a week , the courts are very reasonably priced and the centre itself always seems to be kept very clean

Jack Lakeland: Great sports centre. Gym, pool. Sauna. Steam Room. Swimming. Lessons for kids. Outdoor all weather pitches.

Abz Farooq: Rachel at counter was very helpful in getting me my monthly membership, thank you.
Habib Aleinzy: Gym Ect Top Notch Experience really fun and cheap prices i highly recommend you to visit
david l humberstone: Excellent service. Thanks to Helen

furqan bashir: Good
Sharon Glave: Move More are outstanding, my physio is a god!
Seth Fothergill: Very Positive experiance for me
GLEN In Sheffield: Concorde Sports Centre gym: New this week to the gym at Concorde. Presently concentrating on Cardiovascular and core, with a few weights thrown in too. Pretty good set-up at Concorde, although it would seem most customers are so focused there is no time to acknowledge anyone, which some may find to be a challenge. Usually manage a quick chat / thumbs up if you're lucky. Staff are attentative and willing to assist. Hygiene is of a high standard too, with all the equipment regularly cleaned. Unfortunately, there are some guys in the changing room and showers who discard paper, empty containers on the floor. There is a bin in there, so no excuse. Yes, impressed with the venue, we all need to look after it and treat the hard working staff there respectfully.
Errol Mustafa: I train here 6 days a week. Gym is never top crowded and it doesn't have a bunch of instafags taking photos in the gym constantly. Swimming pool is clean and the showers are amazing. I don't even bother to shower at home much anymore as I prefer the gym showers. Only marking it a star down as it could do with some longer opening hours at the weekend.
Mark Ullyett: It ok,needs updating abit
Danny: Clean and tidy. Nice showers
Selim Osmanoğlu: Perfect
Mel Chalker: Went here for the healthy holiday events they had on during the Christmas holidays. I didn't use any of the facilities here but my son did and he thoroughly enjoyed both the football and the swimming he did here.
Karen Wallace: Needs a update
Sheila White: Come twice a year for dance competitions. Always well organised
Joyce Taylor: Helpful friendly staff

Heeley Pool and Gym: what do users think?
Abbie Cooper: Came here on one of the just swim sessions after not swimming at all for about 6 years so I was really nervous but I loved it! Simple facilities but they do the job, feels safe and well attended to, and the pool temp is lovely
Sarah Tadman: What a lovely little Victorian baths. I came for a 7am swim this morning for the first time and loved it.You need to book a slot as they get filled up pretty quickly, but I think you can pay on the day too. The pool was a lovely temperature, and not over crowded with most spaces gone. Individual changing cubicles are along each long side of the pool, keeping in keeping with the history of the building. Did read some reports of the pool area being dirty, but going for the first session of the day was very clean. There is also a small gym on site, and by the reception area are some vending machines.Excited to go back!
Stuart Stokes: Friendly staff and lovely old fashioned pool. There is a slight difference in the pool temperature in certain spots when doing lengths but this should be expected with an old and functioning pool. Nice and warm
Peter Mara: Great pool, no gimmicks, proper swimming, clean and tidy and friendly staff, value for money.
Naomi Nicholson: Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The online booking system is straight forward. There never seems like there are too many people in the pool at once. Lanes are a good width. All in all this is a great place to swim.
Rinchen Blake: Very good all round
GillPeter Kaye: Good for a simple swim but could do with improving toilets.
Aref Alkadi: Old and required complete renovation
Laura Knowles: Staff very friendly and love this place! Good value for money for the swimming sessions and really enjoy the ladies only sessions
eileen barter: Love the place...not much evidence of lycra! Friendly and no ageism. However the roof leaks!
ezra durand: Good 4 the swimming lessons very old school pool with changing rooms leading straight into pool a Blast from the 70's early 80s cause if your looking for wave machines, killer slides and beach island scenes with cafe serving brevarages & food while you watch the kids swim for a bit..... Then forget it chlorine filled pool with steps to get in and out the pool plus a shallow & deep end
Katie Lee: Really dirty, the smell shows that the changing rooms haven't been cleaned properly for months
david walker: Go a few times a week great pool
Kat Edwards: The swim sessions here are nice and relaxed .. lots of individual changing spaces. Staff are friendly. The pool is quite small though.
Andrew Flanagan: Its great that this place is still there, open and serving the community for a lower cost option to health and fitness. It is basic and has minimal facilities but it does serve a purpose.Swimming was fully booked when I cam here on a Thursday afternoon but it didn't affect things too much.
Kate Maklout (Keeka Zwina): So happy to have a pool that offers ladies only, slightly pricey though
Zainab Asif: Such a wonderful learning environment for children... pool is clean n staff is v friendly...
Jane Marsden: Easy on line booking not to busyGood on price nice staffOverall always a great swim
Leoni Wrigley: Nice clean pool/changing rooms. Took my little one for his first swim, he really enjoyed it. Was slightly cool in the pool but if you kept moving didn't really feel it.
Jan Hedge: Great pool, friendly staff and well organised
Mike Naylor: Great little pool. Retains its old skool charm but with modern day touches. Now has a little sauna and a nice little gym.Great staff. The swimming teachers are great and really push to get the best out of the kids.

David Muzyczka: Should get more tills opened, it seems answering the phone has more priorities than people waiting in a queue, especially if you're on a lunch break. Not enough staff serving.
Mervin Palmer: Renewed my season ticket 3 April, young girl with the personality of a robot was very unhelpful when asking about a vacant seat for my 5yr old grandson next to me she did not seem to have a clue and even asked where my seat was even though she'd just done my ticket renewal, as a blade for 60 yrs and a season ticket holder for 40 i expect a bit better , no season ticket by the way for disappointed young blade .

Virgin Active: what do users think?
Alex Jones: free weight section is too small for how many people use it, the quality and variety of equipment is good however there isn't enough of it, this section is always busy . The cardio section is way too big for how many people use it, there is a wide variety of bikes, treadmills etc but there simply are too many machines and half go unused at any one time. pool is good. spa is alright. the jacuuzi section is cold but the surrounding saunas and steam room are good. Staff are friendly and helpful. The opening hours are ridiculous and they keep closing earlier and earlier
Archie Beresford: Been going here about a month now.Pros:+Good variety of equipment, dedicated strength and bodyweight areas, punch bags are a nice touch too+The Climbing wall is decent, the route setting is okay but given that its a gym not a climbing center it's good.+Staff are friendly, and the changing rooms are well maintained/clean+Spa area is brilliant, steam room + saunaCons:-Opening times are poor, for £50 a month the center should be open till 10 on the weekends.-Hidden £10 induction fee to use the climbing wall, not a massive deal but this wasn't made clear on sign up.-VERY busy at peak timesOverall a good gym!
Harmony Hypnosis Sheffield: Great gym with good facilities and friendly staff.
Miriam K: Having only had the induction and the tour recently all I could say is that I was very impressed with the services that they provide, whether it be the clean family female changing rooms, the wide range of equipment and not to mention the view. I was very pleased to see that they had a diverse range of boxing equipment having been a fan of boxing since forever and so happy to see friendly professional staff at my assistance. Also I particularly like how compared to the other gyms that they have a tv screen added to their treadmill which you can scroll at your convenience and also pretend that you are running in San Fran. Basic equipment which you’d see at every other gym, I,e. Medicine balls, cross trainers, mats, dumbbells, skiers and rowers and so forth. Highly recommend. 👌.
Jemma Coleman: The gym itself is good and nice and clean but the spa area is full of leering LOUD men that shout at each other and who all seem to know each other. They treat it like their own private spa and have zero regard for anyone else.Makes it an intimidating environment for women who just want to relax and enjoy what they are paying for. This is near impossible tho when these men are leering, shouting and messing around in what should be a relaxing environment..It’s also extremely irritating when towels are tossed on the sun loungers when I would like to lay there. There are plenty of hooks for towels so idk why they aren’t used. Also opening times are appalling when paying £50 a month I’d expect 24hours like other places are doing now. 8pm close on weekend is a joke.Almost feels like a children’s daycare at times. Overrun with screaming children. Adults Are the ones paying for gym membership not kids. Swimming pool often unusable due to sheer amount of children and swimming clubs and lessons.Ban the kids. Also if you ever try to call the club for any reason expect a wait time of 20 mins plus. However if you select you are wanting to join you get out through to sales who answer very quickly…Cold changing rooms.Have to go at weird times if you actually want to be able to move around and breathe.Cafe closes very randomly and has very poor hours. 3pm close on a weekend really????? Reception Staff unaware of cafe opening times and don’t see bothered to find out. Why don’t they know this vital info?? It should be put up on a big sign. Also if you fancy going to one of the classes expect to book weeks in advance.
Cameron Amiri: Staff are so nice really good gym and steam room.
Ryan Maw: I literally cannot wait for my membership to be over my lock has been cut of my locker after having the same locker for 10 month now being told if I want to keep a locker it will be an extra £10 a month, for a locker really?Ridiculous already £46 a month don't think so. Definitely won't be rejoining
Pete S: This gym does a lot, but it does nothing well.I won’t be renewing simply because I can’t use the gym enough due to the terribly short opening hours. It’s 2023, closing at 8pm and 10pm is ridiculous. The gym floor is ok but is getting really dated now, cheaper facilities have better, more up to date equipment and this place just hasn’t kept up with the times.
Lizzie Walmsley: Use to love virgin, but I have been waiting for a refund for over 100 pounds from them and have had to chase them at the front desk 5 times already and still nothing. They have owed me a refund for over a month now, I keep getting told I will receive it and never do. I’ve tried calling multiple times and no one ever answers, I rang for 45 mins straight once and still nothing. Prices are far to high but then also don’t like to give you the money back like they’re short of it.
Claire Green: Things seem to have improved since my last review regarding customer services so I’m bumping it up to 4 stars. This is a very well equipped gym with great facilities for families so I have always been pleased with this aspect. The reception staff are much more helpful than they were when I last posted a 3 star review. This has considerably improved my experience of the gym.We had a mixed experience of the crèche when little one was a baby but she’s loving it now (age 2).To get to five star…Coffee in the cafe could be better. Changing rooms could be cleaner in family changing - they are dirty first thing in the morning.
Kay Phillips: Gym facilities are great. Staff are brilliant.Pool could do with being better managed. Spa badly needs refurbishing. More investment is needed generally from higher up.
Ed Chard: Main pool shut this morning. This is not good enough Virgin Active. Better servicing and investment is required at this site. Not what you pay nearly £60 a month for.Staff are excellent but let Down by Head Office.
Jeanette Pugh: Like most comments on here it saddens me to leave 2 stars. The 2 stars are for the staff because they are very helpful and friendly but due to the behaviour of other members I have decided to cancel my membership.I have seen on so many occasions young men spitting on the floor in the steam sauna ( it was a good clear out kind of spit) and also around the spa area, swearing and in general being very loud.I did report one of the spitting incidents to a member of staff who said she would radio someone to come and clean it but no-one came. It's a crying shame because there are no other gyms that offer the facilities virgin have near me.
Karen Guymer: Facilities are kept very clean. Good range of equipment. Staff are friendly and welcoming.Thank you
JUST GET ON WITH IT!: Best gym I've tried, and I've tried alot of gyms.Would be great if they have some Electronic vehicle chargers whilst I workout that would be so handy.
Ella Hill: I started at Virgin in March 2022. Not only is the gym absolutely brilliant but the staff are too. I began PT Sessions in August with Jon Ainsley and he is incredible. If anyone is looking for a personal trainer who doesn't put loads of pressure on you, gives you great tips and advice and just overall makes your time in the gym enjoyable, I'd highly recommend him. I had have trouble with trainers in the past who want to train you till failure and while that works for some it puts me off. Jon isn't like that at all, he listens to your goals and supports you all the way.
April Bentley: Decent range of equipment but insanely busyIn terms of your reply, yes, I've been using the club occupancy feature but it's almost always 80%+ full and the climbing wall is usually occupied with inductions and kids classes. As such, I definitely wasn't enjoying the experience and I cancelled my membership last month; it expires tomorrow. Thanks for the attempt at keeping my custom though.
Olivia Grasier: I’ve rejoined this gym after relocating back to Sheffield. I do like it and think the price point is fair. The staff at the front desk are really lovely and helpful, decent amount of gym equipment and spa facilities are nice. However, there isn’t an appropriate place for people to perform floor work like hip thrusts.I was in the circuit area before 8.30 using the boxes to perform a hip thrust, and one of the coaches (Tiffany Cavill) would not stop looking at me. No one had informed me on the timetables of group sessions and I was more than happy to move upon realising. When de loading my equipment, she grabbed the barbell off me and told me to de load elsewhere. This was still before 8.30 when her session started. As instructed, I deloaded the weight at the back. I then proceeded to start a new exercise at the very back of her class and was well out of the way. She then spoke to me very rudely and said I was in her way when I wasn’t.She made me feel extremely intimidated and I think it’s a shame someone who is representing the brand endorses such behaviour. I tried calling several times through out the day to log this incident but no one at reception picked up - wait time was upwards of 20 minutes.
Mignone Silveira: Good gym with swimming pool, sauna steam and jacuzzi and cafe. Can do with more strength equipments. Can get very busy.
Eric Mac: Very difficult to book classes despite the initial sales promises. Not all classes offered at every gym. Also still waiting for response about swimming lessons to an email enquiry sent last week.
ali o: Expensive with 0 interested off them investing in better equipment upstairs

Angel Desireux: Went to an evening event & bars shut way to early turning queues of people Away
Mark Taylor: Good fun for all the family
Debbie Clayton: 90's live was fab
Michael Brown: This website is rubbish. Let’s you create an account but then you can’t login because it doesn’t let you set a password. Then it doesn’t let you enter a forgotten password, so you can’t reset it that way. It would be nice if DCLT showed at least some competence or professionalism.
Robert Bekas: Overall everything is fine, but I suggest to rebuild website, it's terrible, difficult to find what you're looking for, all the time redirecting to wrong place. Confirmation emails don't come sometimes. Apart from that very good place to spend time with family
Warren Rook: Good facilities great for events
jodie bishop: Why cant you just walk in pay for what ever you want to use...its all over complicated ...if your a member show a card and enter fgs!!!!!
Sura Jasim: I love it
Darren Kirby: Way too expensive now for gym use, with so many cheaper options with better facilities now across doncaster with more opening soon. They need to move away from this idea that having access to gyms across doncaster is a benefit and worth £30 a month. Most people, if not all just use the local gym, classes should be extra and £15 a month at most. JD makes dclt look awful from a value perspective and has better facilities too. Also with another gym opening at the old exercise for less site, I really don't understand the value perspective anymore. Along with no memberships for disability members even though by law they really should provide these or atleast make exceptions.Dclt has privatised your local fitness centre and made health and fitness into a corporate machine with no care for the community the sites sit within.I have a friend that is mentally disabled and when their health detoriated I interviened and asked to stop the membership, this was denied. Even though they said that you can cancel anytime to bad health. Took 4 months to get this cancelled for them with 34 emails sent and a letter to the Ed. Milliband. (local mp) All the while threats and debt collectors to a disabled vulnerable persons door.Be careful when signing up, this is a full credit agreement for the year value. If you don't pay they will harrass you as the agreement is not with Dclt but with a seperate finance company. No other gym does this, it's made this way to extract as much money as possible and ensure they get it with no way to cancel as after you sign you owe the money to the finance company not Dclt.

david griffiths: It was overcrowded and wet . No point going if you want a decent swim ?
steven rowbotham: Great price for swimming
Antony Allen: Gym facilities and staff at Adwick are excellent, only gripe is very poor telephone customer service. On hold for 30 minutes each time I call. If the online booking system was better designed to allow changes to bookings then you may get less calls into your switchboard and answer customer calls more swiftly.
