Central Library: what do users think?

F12 G11: I like the fact thatthe library provides a quiet space for people who want to study. Plus, newspapers in other than English such as Arabic which reflects the diversity of Sheffield. In addition, the kids section is down stairs & it needs to reach the Arabic Japanese...etc weekend schools & invite their students & offer enough books in other than English too. Many thanks for the wonderful staff

bob mynors: A great place. A proper library where books remain the focus whilst activities, IT systems and all other media exist around them

Han Whiteoak: Love this place. Good selection of books and a very comfortable reading room (on the left as you enter the building). Regular groups for creative writing, poetry, etc along with talks and art exhibitions in the gallery upstairs. Claire who runs the writing and poetry groups is extremely welcoming to all. A library card also allows you to borrow from several branch libraries around the city.

Fiona Slaughter: A lot of books to choose from. Other things available too such as computers for online research, magazines and newspapers. Also has a modern boardgame collection that you can use in the reading room if you have a library card.

Derik Potts: Pretty old fashioned. It reminded me of what libraries were like 20 years ago.
Tufty “Tufty”: Staff always on the pc or talking..
Phillip Taylor: I've been to Sheffield central library for the reading ahead challenge really enjoyed myself .The staff are really friendly from Phillip
bob mynors: A great place. A proper library where books remain the focus whilst activities, IT systems and all other media exist around them
amaka Topaz: Visited the library yesterday. It was large and spacious. However the reading table and chairs were so low and not ergonomic. Not good especially for tall persons. You have to bend a lot more forward in order to write. The reading chair backrest were too low and not supporting the back .If you try to sit upright, you realise the back rest is low beneath the level of the mid back.If I read there for one week, I will surely develop a back pain.A lot of things need changing as they are old.The toilet on the 3d floor is old as well.It needs more modernising and color .The should also be signpost like 'pls remain quiet , this is a library'.Some people just make loud conversations without considering others.Staff were helpful and nice.
Marinela Ciopron: Friendly people
Trevor Back: Helpful Staff
Nathan Burroughs: The reference library is a great place to sit quietly and study, and the staff were very helpful in setting me up with a card for the lending library. Not only that, they went out of their way to ask if there were any specific books I wanted, and then when they didn't have them, ordered the entire rest of the series to be bought by the library for me to read!
Janet Willis: Lovely and peaceful. Staff are very friendly and very helpful.
Paul “TaLL-PauL” Ottaway: Sheffield Central Library is a wonderful place, either to take out books, or to use the internet. There's plenty of places to sit quietly and read. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Graves Building, which houses the Library us a lovely Art Deco structure from the 20C.
Chris Wild: Such a great selection of books from memoirs to fantasy to natural history well worth a visit.
steve clark: Great helpful staff. New books to borrow
Interior Designer: Sheffield Central Library is located in the heart of Sheffield City Centre. The place is quite and is spacious. It is offer free Wi-Fi service if you come with your equipment. So, you can spent more than the normal PC booking time. It offers range of books and references. They do organise different activities, such as enterprise workshops and learning basic skills. It is your one stop learning, studying and stationery stop. Staff is always helpful. The problem is with no toilet facilities. Food is not allowed. Don't surprise if you see someone in the library is sleeping! On average the service is good. When compared with other photocopies services, the central library is cheaper. It is a place to read, research and study.
Colin Hague: This is at worst a lifeline for so many readers and at best the most magical experience yu can ever imagine.Everything from reference to adventure to music .Choose and enjoy.
Ricky Sheldon: Fantastic library excellent staff.
Mr Frost: It's a magical knowledgeable land of books and floor's and more👍👍👍👍👍👍
stefan middleditch: Staff were pleseant and helpfull
Zaynab: Great place to read and study. A nice variety of books to read and helpful staff :)
Andy Staves: Hope you don't need the loo here!

Frecheville Library and Learning Centre: what do users think?

BERKLEY MCQUAID: Only just joined today but first class service so far and larger range of books than I imagined

Stephen Burgin: The library is now open with covid restrictions. The volunteers are welcoming, helpful and very knowledgeable about books. They also have lots of new book releases and so I recommend a visit.

June Mckenna: Love the library everyone make you welcome cannot wait until we get back to normal and library opens up again good work keep it up

Sarah Peacock: Great community run library. Friendly with loads of activities happening. Great selection of up to date books and fab bookshop.

Paul Heenan: Lovely place and helpful staff.

Lyndsay Bracken: It’s a good little library & we can use it to access many more books from other libraries & use the computers there.

Ann Gleadhill: Lovely friendly well stocked library.

Andrew Angel: A cracking little local library. Now run by volunteers but still a well run venture and local meeting place.#LoveYourLibrary

Amelia Browse: really good library

David Needham: Nice books
Matthew Smith: Inaccurate to describe as open a Service which was withdrawn by the council in 2014.The nearest council run and staffed libraries can be found at Crystal Peaks or Manor Libraries. As for this volunteer led book swap / Community Centre, the volunteers do a great job keeping the building open but please don't call it a library; it's offensive to library staff who have trained hard to make a career of library work and who have in many cases dedicated decades of their lives to providing a professional service to Sheffield library users. It's also offensive to library users who have paid for a staffed service via council tax. Bring back council library staff to Frecheville Library.
Vicky Precious: Very friendly volunteers

Sheffield Sling Surgery and Library: what do users think?

Tom Taylor: My wife and I paid for a sling lesson here to help us find something that suited us and the way we wanted to carry our baby. The staff at the sling library were really friendly and helpful. We were shown how to use a variety of slings and were able to borrow two slings to try at home.

Frances Taylor-Cook: Really friendly, knowledgeable and supportive place to get information on baby carrying and trial and buy different slings. Would highly recommend a visit.

Holly Kitson: Excellent resource and great service

Sheffield Schools Library: what do users think?
Naina A: Huge library which carries a vast range of books, DVDs and posters. They have everything that I need for reading material for my class. Shelves are clearly marked with relevant key stages to help you choose age appropriate books, and they also offer the national curriculum steps as guidance -which is particularly useful for guided reading. The people working here are very friendly and helpful, and will assist you in any way they can.

Karen Beech: So much happening regularly. Very community based.
Just Jaye: Stopped by to drop off a library book and get food. Staff friendly and helpful as usual.
Keith Tomkins: Great local library.
Peter Trezise: helped out by a very nice lady called Gillian.I was in the area and had already tried numerous post offices and libraries to get the use of a photo copier, to make 5 simple copies of an A4 document.Gillian was in the queue at the post office as i was advised by the cashier that they do not provide such service.Gillian overheard our conversation and said she could open the library as she worked there and do me the copies. She was a life saver for me this day and i very much appreciated what she did,m a very kind and thoughtful lady.thankyou
Evita Anderson: Lovely library with a brilliant cafe situated in side. Lovely friendly people always happy to help you. Come alone and enjoy a coffee and a Victoria sponge cake.
