Haleema Hussain: I’ve been getting my hair done from a mobile hairdresser for about 4 years now was reluctant to try some place else. Read the reviews and took the plunge to give the hair salon a try. I am soo glad that I did! The lady who washed and blow dried my hair was absolutely lovely (didn’t catch her name sorry!) and Andrea gave me a haircut who was super nice too. She cut my hair exactly the way I want, I’ve had long hair for years and was anxious about going short. She reassured me and made sure not to cut a huge amount off and kept checking with me which I love and appreciate so much. So pleased with my hair and will definitely be back! Staff are so lovely too :)

陈威利: From the hair allergy test to the chemical hair straightening appointment and cut, I was welcomed and felt comfortable with all the staff in the salon. The business is family run and you can really tell with the sense of friendly community (and also the cute dogs) :). I was told in detail all the steps that will be taken for my hair straightening as well as suggestions for how I should cut and maintain my hair. Staff constently check up on you and make sure you’re feeling okay during the entire process and whether you need anything, like teas coffees etc… I’ve had my hair chemically straightened at other salons but it’s safe to say that this might be my best experience so far, will definitely be coming back in the future when my hair needs touching up! gillian timms: I visited this salon to have my hair straightened in February and I am so impressed! It is still straight 6 months later. It takes me less than half the time to wash and dry. My hair is naturally wavy, coarse and dry and was impossible to keep straight. The slightest amount of moisture and it was ruined no matter how much I straightened it. I just can’t believe how long it’s lasting and what great condition it is in. I will be back to have it done again when it returns to it’s wavy state. Thank you 😊 The staff were very friendly and explained each step. I would definitely recommend this salon.

Chris Sellars: Many years ago I went to Wigs and War paint training day as I have strong fine and very straight hair and found the teachers could always give me a good cut, so I decided to try them again for this morning’s training day I found all the staff very welcoming and the main Training lady called Claire was excellent made me feel at ease and explaning to the class each stage of the style of cut i wanted, one of the students asked if wanted a drink which was really nice and another student washed and learned how to massage my scalp with Claire’s demonstrating this to her students. As I have straight her Claire was able to sort out the wrong cuts I had had for some years which was good for the class as I know short ladies hair is very difficult to learn to cut. Elizabeth Hope: I got my hair done by Jade almost a year ago in May and it was fabulous I was so pleased with what she did. I then took almost a year break and went back yesterday to her to get my hair cut and get balayage again and honestly she couldn’t have done a better job my hair always feels so soft and healthy after she’s done and the feel lasts for so long. I’ve had all sorts on my hair over the years (bleaching my own hair, box dye, cutting it my self and so on) and I trust her completely with my hair to the point where I ended up just asking her what she thinks would look best and let her do it she is the only stylist that I would ever go to for my hair. Charlotte Louise Coltart: First time going to this salon, I was running late and I totally understood that I wouldn't be able to have my hair styled after my cut which I was fine with as this was my fault however the hair stylist Millie seemed to be so rude throughout the appointment and said she won't cut my hair as they are extensions (I just wanted them trimmed) I agreed to just the fringe and blow dry where she burnt me with the hairdryer multiple times and tugged at my hair really hard that my scalp is now red. The whole appointment she felt annoyed that she had to do my hair and honestly I felt uncomfortable, I'm glad I wasn't charged for a full cut however the customer service was terrible. Also she left my soaking wet hair to soak through to my top which isn't ideal.
Frog Lover: I had half a head of highlights done by Millie. I tried to make conversation but she didn’t really talk back, which is fine as I thought she might just want to concentrate on her work.My bleach on my head was left in for quite a while and when it was washed off it was a lot lighter than my previous highlights already in my hair. My hair was toned with two different toners, which looked okay at first but after a few washes has revealed the top of my head is much lighter than the bottom, and the front extremely light and damage.I may have caught her in a bad day but Millie seemed pretty rude during the service and it was off putting.I have had to have a different hairdresser fix my hair which they were shocked with how the highlights had been done.Unfortunately I used to love this salon, but will not be returning in the future.Services:Hair coloring,Hair highlighting

Lauren and the team are amazing with personal experience of Sarah and Martin respectively but I have my haircut by Lauren who is amazing I had mine cut and finished last weekend 15/09/18 and the comments I received about the look and especially the way my hair had been cut by Lauren is what has led me to post the comments amazing, exquisite super neat and straight amongst other comments are what we’re said about my hair so get yourself down and booked in with where I think is the BEST hairdressers in Sheffield! Response: Hi Gemma, many thanks for your review. I’m sorry that you felt this way. I have spoken to the staff and reviewed the cctv. I can assure you that the staff would never have made you feel like scum, you asked for advice on your hair as a walk in and immediately informed the staff that you are allergic to colour but wish to colour your hair dark. The staff responded by explaining that unfortunately due to insurance purposes, now that we know you are allergic to colour, we would be unable to colour your hair and wouldn’t feel comfortable in doing so. The staff in question are really kind and gentle staff and would never intentionally be rude and the cctv really does back this up. We don’t want you to be disappointed but unfortunately we just wouldn’t be able to provide a service knowing that you are allergic as we wouldn’t put you at risk. Yasmin Ali: Have used this hair salon on a few occasions previously as do many of my family and friends, NEVER AGAIN ! Left feeling extremely distressed after the disaster and my hair feels terrible. I have been growing my hair for 18 months and working on the condition during the lockdown, not using straighteners or heat on my hair. Chloe sat me down and discussed what I wanted, which was simple trim to the length and my long layers, as she felt my hair she said u have “lots of good hair (not any more) I questioned Chloe several times over what she was doing as she cut my hair wet, stylists have never done this before always dry first. She was using a razor and said was putting the layers in, at the end when dry she got the straighteners out to curl my hair, I mentioned as previously that I did not use any more on my hair, Chloe replied it would look nice, so I said ok as I thought she is the professional. After she used the straiteners she then said she was pinning the curls up to make them last, I didn’t mind as I wear a headscarf so was covered. When I returned home I removed my headscarf and the pins and was extremely distressed at what I saw, my hair had 2 long pieces at the front and the back was what I can only described as butchered. I phoned the salon and they did offer me a return visit to look at what had been done, I had an appointment with Jade & Verity - Jade said all she could do was cut shorter to at least give it shape, no conversations were had to apologise or make me feel at ease. Verity was then sent to style my hair again no talking, at the end all that was said was I will leave you to sort yourself out as there is no charge. No one cleared the cut hair or my robe and I was left to remove myself and walk out. I feel traumatised by this experience how I was treated after that woman butchered my hair and am extremely disgusted and disappointed that they treat customers this way, not one apology or any care given.
Barbara Santos: Really lovely salon, has a great atmosphere. As a girl with really curly hair I have had lots of difficulty finding hairdressers that know cut and style my hair properly. Since finding Another Kind and having Patrice as my hair stylist, that has really changed. She is very talented, always friendly and up for a chat, making the whole process very easy and enjoyable. holly lithgo: Left feeling a little disappointed, I have curly hair and I wanted a cut that helped with the styling. Joanne was a nice woman however she had no idea how to style curly hair (even though she said she did) she kept tugging and pulling at my hair and blowing it all over my face which did not help with the curls: I can style them better myself. I couldn’t leave the salon in the way she left my hair it was a scraggly mess! so I asked for a blow dry and she seemed to get annoyed that I didn’t like it? She’s cut my hair way too thin and put more layers in when I asked her not too. Will not be going again it will take me months now to regrow the layers I was growing out in the first place.

They would cut it straight along the bottom so I had it flat top and wide on the shoulders. Joanne knows exactly how to cut curly hair and always explains how she’s cutting it and why. M Y: Customer service wasn’t great. I got a cut, blow dry and damage control treatment which cost under £70. The hair cut was ok but when she was blow drying and styling my hair I could feel my hair being pulled out. She was aware that the round brushes pulled hair and I even mentioned the brushes aren't great. She even brushed my hair with the round brush a couple of times knowing it tugged my hair. I went in with quite a good idea of what I wanted but she was really knowledgable about the process and helped me makes decisions on colour and also style. I felt really confident with it and the end result is brilliant and exactly what I wanted.Also felt very COVID safe - they provided a disposable overgrown and a mask and everyone wears full PPE.

She did an excellent job on my hair, and I couldn't be happier with the results. She's also super friendly and easy to talk to.I highly recommend Volt to anyone :)
rachel bailey: I visited Volt for the second time last Thursday and was greeted with a warm welcome by the receptionist. My hair was in desperate need of a good cut. Leah the stylist asked me how I wanted my hair and I explained to her that I wanted my hair thinning whilst shortening the length to my shoulders in a nice medium Bob. Leah did exactly what I asked for. She wasn't shy & lazy with the scissors like alot of other stylists have been at other salons I've visited in the past. She cut quite alot of thickness out of my hair, making it lighter and more manageable to style. There was that much hair on the floor that you could've knitted a jumper out of it. Yep, I'm definitely returning to this salon again in another 8 weeks time for my trim. I won't go anywhere else because this is the best salon in Sheffield. You get given a choice of drinks, a biscuit and a nice head massage, with decent 80s music in the background. Although located in the middle of Yorkshire, all the staff members I encountered during my time there had the air of high level professionals with a contemporary and sophisticated vision.Having been raised in the capital city of a culturally very high-maintenance country, in an area where all the nation's celebrity hair stylists can be found within a 1km radius, I have been used to a high standard which made me regret the few times I decided to experiment away from home. I just happened to spot this salon a few times on my way to work and it definitely had a different feel about it compared to others in the city, so it peaked my interest.I went to Gemma for the first time, gave her a very vague description of what I was after and she completely nailed it. She also took into consideration my day-to-day hair habits so that the adjustment into my new hairstyle can be as effortless as possible. The layers she gave me are perfect by my needs, nothing sticks out when I braid it and she made my thin hair look full and healthy for real, not just as an initial effect of salon styling. It also looks natural, flowy and the layers are well blended, and not choppy like I've seen some people do it.I am very happy that I found this place.
