King Edwards Swimming Pool: what do users think?
Dr.Akhilesh Kirane
Dr.Akhilesh Kirane: I visited for parent-toddler session with my 2 year old. Nice and clean pool, it was a weekday but there were about 15-18 children with their parents, no long waits - changing rooms are good. Poolside temperature is well controlled, water temperature is excellent. Lots of seating arrangements poolside. Loads of floats and toys in the pool, max depth 1.3 meters with gradual slopes from both sides. We could see three lifeguards on duty and they seemed quite friendly. Anti-slip mats and floorings in place everywhere. Two minor suggestions - Prams or buggies could be taken to poolside but no ramp at the entrance, will help if we can have that. Parent- toddler sessions could also be scheduled on weekends.
Kelly Knight
Kelly Knight: A very nice pool. My first visit and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The changing rooms were nice and clean and the pool was lovely is a little on the warm side. I’m still getting used to swimming in a longer length pool and as the deepest section is only 1.4m It’s a good pool to practice in. I also like that you don’t have to book like most other pools in Sheffield.
Andrew Burgar
Andrew Burgar: Love the over 50s swimming. Staff very friendly. Good crowd. Baths ideal for my limited ability. I can just have gentle swim within my capabilities - no one cares how good or bad you are. All in all a nice session.
Lizi Attwood
Lizi Attwood: This is a great pool for kids as it is shallow at both ends (slightly deeper in the middle) and kept very warm. The facilities are very basic, no lockers but you can just carry your stuff through and leave it at the side of the pool. There is a great selection of lessons and activities here including a laid back adults lesson on Monday nights.
Sam Barthram
Sam Barthram: Boiling hot but kids love it. Needs updating
Helen Jesse
Helen Jesse: Good changing rooms, warm water, lots of toys in water for toddler session. Little one loved it. I just wish there was parking
Daniel Okuo
Daniel Okuo: friendly staff.warm pool in winter
Richard Munoz
Richard Munoz: Sons have learned to swim here. They are both much more confident in the sea and other swimming pools
Phoebe Cooper
Phoebe Cooper: Lovely swimming pool, went with my baby and he loved it, the pool was filled with beautiful floats and balls, which he loved! The changing rooms were really warm which made getting changed less stressful.
Lindsey Bielby
Lindsey Bielby: Booked our daughter’s birthday party. You get one hour but that includes getting changed, a swimming test for each child individually and changing time at the end. The pressure for one child of the ‘test’ was enough to leave her in tears and some of the children who showed they could swim were told to wear armbands “in case they get tired”. The test took 15 minutes as each child had to swim up to 4 widths individually which eats into your hour and we were told to get out of the pool with 15 mins left of the session - this meant we only had 30 mins swimming of an hour booking at a cost of £100. When we asked if we might stay in for another 5 minutes the lifeguard started crying! Also we were allowed to bring a cake in but not allowed to cut it in there. Very rude lifeguard and absolutely no flexibility. Would never recommend for a party booking. Very disappointing.
Joanne Burgar
Joanne Burgar: Great over 50's swimming for which I just qualify😁👍🏊‍♀️UPDATE.....I just managed over 1,000m today and the pool is as good as it always is👍😁🎉
Daniel Okuo

Vic
Vic: The changing areas (i went into) was very clean. I usually have issues with swimming pools and dirt on the floor from peoples outside shoes but with this swimming pool that wasn't an issue. Very reasonable prices the student price is under a fiver which is cheaper then other swimming pools I've been to. The staff are friendly with the little interaction's I have had with them. The loyalty card they give (every seventh time is free) is great way to get people (ie me) to come back regularly although their membership would only be worth while if you plan on going more then once a week. All in all great swimming I frequent often
msarhsh 1309
msarhsh 1309: very clean swimming pool. i always saw the staff clean the changing room and spray the chairs.
jessica nettleton
jessica nettleton: No disabled access or way up stairs for prams

Ethan ren
Ethan ren: In King Edwards Swimming Pool, I didn't feel any goodwill and friendly treatment, Without any help, I have been discriminated against,Choose swimming here very regret, Children swimming for the first time we felt very unfriendly, Behind me to change to another more fundamental curriculum, My child was a little afraid of water, Teachers ignore us,They not provide any help, I was traumatized. I felt unfriendly discrimination in three courses. When I wanted to cancel my course, But they told me no return money back。
terry needham
terry needham: Great place nice and clean
Michael Hughes
Michael Hughes: Cold and very wet!!
Stuart Brown
Stuart Brown: Our children love the swimming lessons here. The staff here are fantastic. Would highly recommend coming here. 👍
Weebrahim
Weebrahim: A nice quaint swimming pool :D not the busiest but that's for the best, you want all the space you can get, love the fact that you don't require booking although maybe the pricing can be much for a lot of people, but hey it goes to charity too

Ponds Forge International Sports Centre: what do users think?
Michael Heng
Michael Heng: Superb sporting facility in the centre of Sheffield. Includes 50m 10 lane olympic sized swimming pool, diving pool, leisure pool, and large hall. Parking underneath, close to train and bus stations and hotels nearby.
Phil Batten
Phil Batten: We went there for a graduation ceremony. The building/facilities were perfect for the occasion. 400 graduates plus their families were very well catered for. A very nice setup for such a memorable occasion.
Mike freeman
Mike freeman: Fantastic arena. My daughter was swimming at a gala here and I thought the facilities were excellent. I look forward to returning in the future. The cafe was also very good.
A Smith
A Smith: When ever there is an event happening here the members are forgotten and lane swimming is taken away, there ask all home members to spend extra money travelling to over clubs, i was also told that leisure swimmers make more money And that’s me and members are directly discriminated against. I also told that there isn’t enough staff, why can’t they take two hours a day from l leisure pool and give it to members lower risk and no staff excuses needed. Water fountain are all faulty and steam always broken down and the spinning machine hasn’t worked for some time It has a real no policy
Dilan Killer
Dilan Killer: not cool place anymore
John Cassidy
John Cassidy: I worked there.
Badroddin Kazkaz
Badroddin Kazkaz: Wowza.
Stephen Roberts
Stephen Roberts: This is an iconic venue for aquatic sports in the UK. We have attended swimming events for which the pool is great. The main pool is a ten lane, 50m set up with decent blocks at both ends. There is a boom that can be used to form two 25m pools. The diving pool is often used for warm up/swim down during races. There is ample space for swim teams and coaches on one side and spectators on the other. There is a fairly basic but less expensive than many cafe and good access by public transport. It is marked down to 4 start as the venue is tired in parts and facilities like toilets are worn. The cleaning teams obviously make an effort but there is only so much that scrubbing can hide!If you get the Fagan e to watch an aquatic’s competition here I would say go for it!
GR
GR: If you come for an event at pf and park in the q park they can validate your ticket for 50% off!
eany meany
eany meany: Could do with some tidying up around the edges but it's a great place to swim and be active. One star reduced sure to lack of cycling parking, being such an iconic building should be providing the best bicycle parking the city can offer.
Jan Paweł
Jan Paweł: Expensive car park, but give U back £2 to use in cafe
Arnold John
Arnold John: Love it here
Natalie Atkins
Natalie Atkins: Great swim with the children. Not to busy
wayne wentworth
wayne wentworth: Best swimming baths in Sheffield, with both lanes and family pools
BigdaddyK KingKong
BigdaddyK KingKong: Great swimming pool, my child love it. Staff are very professional
Max W-H
Max W-H: Fined for parking, even though there were no parking spaces. Ponds Forge should disassociate from the awfully autocratic and overzealous Parkingeye.
Jodie Booth
Jodie Booth: Parking is a nightmare every week
stephen trevor
stephen trevor: Swimming is great there, free lockers for members aswell. Sauna and spar are out of order., saving electricity. No change on price though
carl-john yates
carl-john yates: Awesome place
Ovidiu murgu
Ovidiu murgu: The best swimming pool
Sean Morland
Sean Morland: Went to watch the basketball there, sharks v flyers. Venue is OK and the seating is comfortable enough. They have a food area selling hot and cold drinks as well as hot dogs and other snacks.A double win for Bristol this season in the shark tank, come on @bristolflyers
Peter Meijer
Peter Meijer: Mooi duik- en zwembad
Phoebe Cooper
Phoebe Cooper: Great swimming spot for little ones, lovely interactive toddler pool with plenty of water features to enjoy! If you're taking your pram, make sure you bring an extra £1 so that you can lock it up in the buggy park outside the changing rooms.
Luke Denman
Luke Denman: Decent leisure pool, cheap enough, easy to get to. Only downside is parking is a nightmare. More of a Sheffield issue than Ponds themselves.
Selene Ryall
Selene Ryall: Amazing and helpful desk staff on the day of our visit, life guards attentive too. Clean and plentiful changing rooms. Pool nice temperature, lazy river had lots of flotation rings, wave machine decent. Lots of safe fun to be had

Laura Lambert
Laura Lambert: A lovely pool but the changing facilities are a little lacking. No lockers to store your items. Things have to be left where they are on the floor which can sometimes be wet/dirty from previous swimmers. Changing rooms are shared and can get very hot. Small carpark and can be difficult to park close as gets busy during swim lessons and the school is across the road.
Michael Haynes
Michael Haynes: Lovely place.. awesomely clean. Staff amazing. But parking around there is a nightmare.

swim! Sheffield: what do users think?
Chelsea Cairns-lowe
Chelsea Cairns-lowe: My children have attended Swim since it opened. The facilities are clean and the staff are friendly, however my eldest son has only progressed one level since being there due to their failure to regularly assess him. I have to prompt/ask them to assess him and even then they have forgotten to do it or update it on his profile. It’s very expensive and lessons are just 30 minutes long. They mostly do the same thing each lesson with variations depending on which instructor they have. which instructor your child has makes a huge difference to their progress. Some instructors are brilliant (Paul) ! Whilst others seem out of their depth. If you want your child to learn to swim quickly this isn’t the place.
Kimberley Marshall
Kimberley Marshall: I am updating my previous review. Honestly I love the facilites and the people are nice. However, the crucial part of teaching children to swim is hit and miss and pure luck if you pick a session with a consistent teacher. The turnover or trouble finding staff is really troubling and unsettling for the children. I have been going since it opened and it has been the same issues. I think this why there are so many mixed reviews. My best advice is to go but ensure you sign up to a lesson with a regular teacher and hopefully there is consistency. Otherwise expect a different teacher every week and little progress.
Bethany Thornton
Bethany Thornton: Absolutely shambolic experience. My son has been attending lessons here for just under a year. During this time the price has increased and I am now paying £52 a month. For this price I would expect exceptional teaching, continuity and most importantly my child should be learning to swim. This is not happening due to the high turn around of staff, I find it increasingly worrying that a place like SWIM should have such issues retaining staff when they are charging such high prices. My only assumption is there are fundamental issues within the structure of the business where staff do not want to stay and work here. When discussing this with the manager she brushed this off by saying this is just the way the leisure industry operates. My son has now had 3 swim teachers who have left and we had to change another teacher due to her lack of skills when dealing with children. Swimming lessons are supposed to be fun, whilst also inspiring confidence in the water. This quality was severely lacking with this teacher. I’ve finally had enough today after another one if his teaches has resigned after 6 weeks of my son being in her class. How can a rapport develop and accurate assessment of his swimming take place when the swim teachers are either on holiday, sick or have just up and left? Another gripe is they insist on doing ‘star of the week’ which is farcical and totally disheartening when the teachers chop and change so often. There is no continuity and my son is left feeling like he is not good enough because no one monitors who this ‘award’ has been given to. It feels totally counter productive and instead dissuades a child from wanting to try to achieve an unobtainable goal. Please stop doing this as the classes are too small to leave children out, especially when there is low attendance and shaming 2 kids out of a class of 3 is really quite an unnecessary and an uncomfortable experience for a six year old to encounter each week. I honestly would not recommend this place and generally feel that this has been an expensive mistake. My son had a real desire to learn to swim and tried his best during his lessons but no longer wants to take part due to the repetitive nature of each class and the lack of progress made.
Lydia Norton
Lydia Norton: Staff with no enthusiasm, awful with my terrified son, don’t respond to complaints and made my son more terrified of the water. Plus lessons constantly being cancelled for my nephew. 2 classes for £60 due to staff absence which is a regular occurrence. It would be cheaper to take them yourselves to a different pool.
Joseph Thorpe
Joseph Thorpe: Inconsistent swimming tutors, told one thing prior to lessons to then turn up and be told something totally different. When concerns are discussed with management staff you get nothing but lies. Lied to on at least 3 or more occasions for a period of over 6 months. Called them out over the lies and it is followed by even more lies, the main culprits are the manager and one particular member of the management team who both work at Swim Sheffield. I have received calls after 9pm on an evening regarding some issues which also seems unprofessional, the staff try and turn everything around on the customer and make out as though we are in the wrong…. What ever happened to the customer is always right! Attempts made by the centre to keep us quiet by offering a free months membership. At £55 per month, you would expect the best customer service and it was far from that! Would NOT recommend this centre.
Junade Yousuf
Junade Yousuf: 5 stars to Bradley C the teacher who has been brilliant. Given two stars less as the payment scheme is not good. If you miss a lesson due to whatever reason you still have to pay. Email responses can take days.
Mr frisku
Mr frisku: I have been sending my daughter there (even she stopped going now that she started school)since it opened and she has learned swimming there, teachers are friendly and professional especially Millie which made my daughter’s learning to swim a great experience
Molly Taylor
Molly Taylor: Terrible customer service and organisation from start to finish. They signed us up to the wrong day and then when we called to rectify they made another error. We cancelled after this and was advised the direct debit would be cancelled and no payment taken.Payment was taken of £60. After waiting to get thorough to them for 90 minutes i was told it would take 10 days for a refund.Still no refund of £60 has been received and after calling again i was told it could now be up to 14 days.Extremely disappointed in the whole service and i would not recommend.
Matthew Sprague
Matthew Sprague: My son enjoys the lessons here and the staff seem really nice. The facilities are generally clean and I like the way that the classes are small (6 kids to 1 teacher) .However, a few grumbles1, Customer service is terrible. They never reply to emails and when you speak to them in person you get fobbed off and nothing happens.2, it's not cheap. £60 a month for 1 x 30 minute lesson a week. Also, there have been a couple of instances where the lesson has been cancelled and trying to get a refund is a nightmare (see point 1).3, they are slow to progress students. My son has been at the same level for ages and he's getting bored of doing the same things every week. Maybe this is so they can extract the maximum amount of money possible?Update 14/05/2023So my son has been doing level 4 and has nearly completed it. His teacher was Brandon who was absolutely brilliant. Brandon had a really good rapport with the kids and my son was starting to really enjoy the lessons again. So what do they do? Take Brandon off that class!! So now my son doesn't want to go anymore. Think I'll get him through level 4 then stop going. I'm not sure who makes these decisions but it's ludicrous.BRING BACK BRANDON!!!
Emily
Emily: My son progressed 1 stage in 18 months. He had different teachers each week for 4 months and went backwards with his swimming ability, he disengaged with the swimming because he was bored and being taught differently by different teachers, he didn’t know what he was supposed to be doing. He lost confidence with his swimming ability There is a ‘star of the week’ award which should take turns each week, however this isn’t monitored and he hadn’t got that for weeks which is very noticeable in a small group.Overall it’s very overpriced and I would not recommend to anybody, we have now left.
Charlotte Young
Charlotte Young: My little boy goes here and his teacher Lacie is fantastic he has just moved upto swim 2 and she's the best he has had. Reviewed him regularly and made the classes fun but also makes sure they learn new techniques and attempt to swim.
Rosanna Moore
Rosanna Moore: Been overcharged. Have sent 10 emails and tried contacting by phone over the course of 5 weeks. I have received one phone call back, which I missed and then returned and no further contact. Awful. Avoid.
S B
S B: Nice baby lessons. Need more baby changing tables please. can be very busy between classes and changing baby on the floor mats with you and baby getting cold is awkward and as facilities are mixed gender, you then need to still move to a cubicle for changing yourself
Ihab Hanoon
Ihab Hanoon: Great teachers , very knowledgeable and skillful.
Hannah Harriman
Hannah Harriman: My daughter has been in the same class for nearly 18 months now, absolutely no where near progressing up levels. They repeat the same exercises over and over again and don't teach anything new. Complained to Swim and they totally ignored my email. It's impossible to also get refunds on occasions where the company has shut the pool outside of the agreed contract. For £55 a month, don't bother wasting your money.
Shereen's Aloe Lifestyle
Shereen's Aloe Lifestyle: My daughter has attended here for the past few months. She has progressed 2 stages in this time period which I think is great. I do interact with staff and make sure my daughter is doing what she needs to be doing. My daughter also goes swimming for fun at other venues and practises out of her lesson.Overall, I have found the staff very welcoming and they genuinely do want to help. With only a maximum of 6 kids to a lesson I think its great and you get what you pay for. It's unlike other places where there are loads of kids, the staff get in the water and help as much as possible.I have older kids who had lessons elsewhere and find SWIM much better.Of course there's the odd issue here and there but there is with any place these days..the staff are more than happy to resolve any issues..
Joseph Thorpe
Joseph Thorpe: Inconsistent swimming tutors, told one thing prior to lessons to then turn up and be told something totally different. Harriet Willis
Harriet Willis: If you’re thinking of using these, don’t. The staff are lovely but management is non existent and ignorant. The lift has been faulty for months at the Sheffield branch with no attempt made to fix it. I have been trapped in the lift several times whilst my young daughter had to wait on her own for me.Requests to fix it are completely ignored. A degrading experience.
Junade Yousuf
Junade Yousuf: 5 stars to Bradley C the teacher who has been brilliant. Given two stars less as the payment scheme is not good. If you miss a lesson due to whatever reason you still have to pay. Email responses can take days.

Laura Taylor
Laura Taylor: Swim! Lessons are loads of fun. I can see the difference each week in my daughter's ability and confidence.
john crossley
john crossley: Started both our boys when swim opened. Just seems like it's all slipping now and loss of interest. Warm up is always late, Sometime kids have to do it alone. They is no consistency between teachers. And once kids pass no room to progress as all classes above full. Have raised all the above points with staff but never have a response.
David Anson
David Anson: My son did 2 lessonsWorking on backstroke the teacher wasn't paying attention to mine and others children so didn't shout to watch out for the edge and cracked his head twice found a new place to go now but seems ok but not for the price can go elsewhere for half the money they charge
Morgan F
Morgan F: Seems generally reasonable. Bit on the pricey side, but clean, efficient and warm for the kids, staff are good fun, facilities are good. If there was any form of grumble, it would be that the lessons are very robotic/repetative, and theres not much chance in the 30 min lesson per child for 'focussed attention' as there are 6 in most groups, this results in progression being slower than one would generally hope for (especially for the price).

Heeley Pool and Gym: what do users think?
Naomi Nicholson
Naomi Nicholson: Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The online booking system is straight forward. There never seems like there are too many people in the pool at once. Lanes are a good width. All in all this is a great place to swim.
Laura Knowles
Laura Knowles: Staff very friendly and love this place! Good value for money for the swimming sessions and really enjoy the ladies only sessions
eileen barter
eileen barter: Love the place...not much evidence of lycra! Friendly and no ageism. However the roof leaks!
Ade Fowowe
Ade Fowowe: The pool is always warm even in the coldest winter. My kids love it here. The life guards are cautious and friendly. No photos allowed as expected 😉
Sharon Mills
Sharon Mills: Nice to see a old fashion style swimming baths. Ideal changing rooms at side with baby easy to get in and out of pool. Pool could do with being warmer but it was warmer than ponds forge a few months ago. Love the little sauna that is available near pool side. Reasonable price. Could do with a bit of tender loving care get it looking new again but if council get hands on it they would gut it out and to be honest it be a real shame if that was to happen. We need to keep some swimming baths to this style
Abbie Cooper
Abbie Cooper: Came here on one of the just swim sessions after not swimming at all for about 6 years so I was really nervous but I loved it! Simple facilities but they do the job, feels safe and well attended to, and the pool temp is lovely
Sarah Tadman
Sarah Tadman: What a lovely little Victorian baths. I came for a 7am swim this morning for the first time and loved it.You need to book a slot as they get filled up pretty quickly, but I think you can pay on the day too. The pool was a lovely temperature, and not over crowded with most spaces gone. Individual changing cubicles are along each long side of the pool, keeping in keeping with the history of the building. Did read some reports of the pool area being dirty, but going for the first session of the day was very clean. There is also a small gym on site, and by the reception area are some vending machines.Excited to go back!
Stuart Stokes
Stuart Stokes: Friendly staff and lovely old fashioned pool. There is a slight difference in the pool temperature in certain spots when doing lengths but this should be expected with an old and functioning pool. Nice and warm
Peter Mara
Peter Mara: Great pool, no gimmicks, proper swimming, clean and tidy and friendly staff, value for money.
Naomi Nicholson
Naomi Nicholson: Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The online booking system is straight forward. There never seems like there are too many people in the pool at once. Lanes are a good width. All in all this is a great place to swim.
Rinchen Blake
Rinchen Blake: Very good all round
GillPeter Kaye
GillPeter Kaye: Good for a simple swim but could do with improving toilets.
Aref Alkadi
Aref Alkadi: Old and required complete renovation
Laura Knowles
Laura Knowles: Staff very friendly and love this place! Good value for money for the swimming sessions and really enjoy the ladies only sessions
eileen barter
eileen barter: Love the place...not much evidence of lycra! Friendly and no ageism. However the roof leaks!
ezra durand
ezra durand: Good 4 the swimming lessons very old school pool with changing rooms leading straight into pool a Blast from the 70's early 80s cause if your looking for wave machines, killer slides and beach island scenes with cafe serving brevarages & food while you watch the kids swim for a bit..... Then forget it chlorine filled pool with steps to get in and out the pool plus a shallow & deep end
Katie Lee
Katie Lee: Really dirty, the smell shows that the changing rooms haven't been cleaned properly for months
david walker
david walker: Go a few times a week great pool
Kat Edwards
Kat Edwards: The swim sessions here are nice and relaxed .. lots of individual changing spaces. Staff are friendly. The pool is quite small though.
Andrew Flanagan
Andrew Flanagan: Its great that this place is still there, open and serving the community for a lower cost option to health and fitness. It is basic and has minimal facilities but it does serve a purpose.Swimming was fully booked when I cam here on a Thursday afternoon but it didn't affect things too much.
Kate Maklout (Keeka Zwina)
Kate Maklout (Keeka Zwina): So happy to have a pool that offers ladies only, slightly pricey though
Zainab Asif
Zainab Asif: Such a wonderful learning environment for children... pool is clean n staff is v friendly...
Jane Marsden
Jane Marsden: Easy on line booking not to busyGood on price nice staffOverall always a great swim
Leoni Wrigley
Leoni Wrigley: Nice clean pool/changing rooms. Took my little one for his first swim, he really enjoyed it. Was slightly cool in the pool but if you kept moving didn't really feel it.
Jan Hedge
Jan Hedge: Great pool, friendly staff and well organised
Mike Naylor
Mike Naylor: Great little pool. Retains its old skool charm but with modern day touches. Now has a little sauna and a nice little gym.Great staff. The swimming teachers are great and really push to get the best out of the kids.

alan wright
alan wright: Great place for kids
Rachael Gore
Rachael Gore: I absolutely love Hillsborough Leisure Centre! I do fitness classes and use the gym. The gym is well equipped and always clean and tidy. There is a great range and number of different classes to choose from. The instructors are all genuinely lovely and I always feel welcomed and supported by them. The whole place just has a really nice, relaxed, inclusive and friendly vibe. So much nicer than other gyms that can feel intimidating! I would highly recommend it.
George Gibson
George Gibson: Very disappointed to hear they are closing the steam room and sauna after Christmas. Now pool closed for refurbishment unit September.
Liam G
Liam G: I use the gym here sometimes and it's a nice gym set up they have. The other members are friendly and nice to talk to.Will be bringing my daughter here for the swimming once it's back open as work is being done
W B
W B: The gym has an excellent variety and large amount of equipment for use. There is bike parking in sight of the reception staff that is also monitored with CCTV cameras.
Gbenga Olatunji
Gbenga Olatunji: Outside environment okay
Richard Parnham
Richard Parnham: Very run down these days, but is closing soon for a refurb, so hopefully will be far better after that.
J J
J J: Nice place , always busy . Great for the kids !Lifeguards do a great job. All staff very friendly and helpful
Ian Potter
Ian Potter: Closed swimming pool for 5 months
Mary Carol
Mary Carol: I went with a specific question and got the best answer possible for my circumstances.
Brett Windle
Brett Windle: I can't swim and I hate water and other people's kids BUT my 1yr old enjoyed it so I guess it's good? Oh don't bother goin on the blue slide...you don't slide you just crab walk to the bottom. Also you need to book if you want to go so don't just turn up wi ya shorts on.
Mahroof Hussain
Mahroof Hussain: Horrible and rude staff
Kam Huss
Kam Huss: Horrible experience started shouting and swearing at 6year qnd 5year olds a person called shawn came up to me and swearing at me and my family.when we was coming out one of 5he workers tried grabbing my autistic cousin and I told her to stop and she was ragging him around even though I said stop I eventually got him and they was watching out every move and when we went near the water to get out they continued to try and get in our face
Nafisah Rhone
Nafisah Rhone: Water is cold compared to other swimming pools
Alan Crawshaw
Alan Crawshaw: Good facilities
Aldona Szczepaniak
Aldona Szczepaniak: I was there for the first time and the space to change clothes doesn't impress with cleanliness! You have to push to find any small cabinet to leave things, there is no family changing room, you have to cram with your child in a small changing room. No towel racks, everyone goes barefoot! I don't know if people in the 21st century have heard of foot fungus! The floors are filthy dirty in the changing room, no bins in the area for throwing away baby diapers! The kids liked the pirate ship, the slides were fine. The water in the pool for babies is too cold! It got too crowded because people don't keep to the time according to the color of the exit from the pool. Rubbish was all over the floor! Finally, not a single hair dryer worked! This place is only bent on taking your money, it should be upgraded!
Rachel Cabral
Rachel Cabral: Nice leisure centre.
Ashish Bhandari
Ashish Bhandari: Good gym and swimming.
Elizabeth Buchanan
Elizabeth Buchanan: Its ok. Good waves, great swimming lessons, space to swim. Slide disappointing, great kiddy pirate ship. I find it really depressing that there is a cafe for paying customers right at the waterside, but parents are not allowed to sit there to watch swimming lessons and pick their kids up after them. They are supposed to sit upstairs, miles away, abd traipse down to the kids between lessons - really stressful every week for parents supervising lessons and pooltime for multiple children. If youre wondering why loads of parents use the cafe seats, ir buying bare .inimum orders from the cafe, that's the reason. Oh, wonderful staff too. But thats just a stupid, unhelpful policy. Why is the cafe food so beige?
Hussein Saleh
Hussein Saleh: Great place for fitness .. shame the health suite has closed

Swim Now: what do users think?
Hannah Mitchell
Hannah Mitchell: Pete is an excellent teacher - he analysed my stroke and knew straight away where I was going wrong and how to correct it. He has taken a really structured approach, slowly building up the different elements and helping me to find my confidence. I am really enjoying the lessons and am so pleased that after just a few sessions we are already making progress. Would definitely recommend Pete to anyone who wants to learn to swim!
Mari Bullock
Mari Bullock: In 6 lessons,Pete gave excellent groundwork to a complete beginner, in learning and improving front crawl. Thank you very much!
lottie h
lottie h: Beth is awesome - child was behind on lessons due to covid and she has brought him on leaps and bounds in a few weeks already. Delighted and highly recommended.
Colin Marshall
Colin Marshall: Fantastic location and Pete is an excellent patient coach who is very good at refining his classes to ensure that I make measurable progress at each session.
ted morge
ted morge: Very good instructor and great communication. Worth the lessons!
preeti nehte
preeti nehte: Overall, my experience with Pete was fantastic, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their swimming skills. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced swimmer, Pete has the expertise and patience to help you reach your goals. Don't hesitate to book a lesson with him – you won't regret it! #SwimLessons #HighlyRecommend #NaturalTeacher #Motivating #GreatExperience
Archytas E
Archytas E: If you're looking for a swim instructor who's not only skilled but also a natural teacher, look no further than Pete! I recently had the pleasure of taking lessons with him, and I was helped immensely by his ability to break down complex drills into smaller, more manageable steps. His teaching style is both motivating and encouraging, and he made me feel at ease in the water. Highly recommend.Ajit
Afia Amin
Afia Amin: Pete has been very helpful. He gave me confidence to swim and really pushed me to do well. I think the chrages for lessen need looking into tho bit too much.
Swpnil Patel
Swpnil Patel: I've been having 1-on-1 weekly swimming lessons with Pete now for about 3 months as an adult beginner. I've seen regular progress from struggling to do a length of the pool at the Mercure to recently being able to effortlessly glide through with a basic backstroke. Pete has demystified swimming for me, and in each lesson broken things down in a step by step process, so I always feel like I'm progressing and never in the metaphorical deep end. I would highly recommend lessons with Pete from Swim Now.
Aliyah S
Aliyah S: I had my first taster session with Bethany and I was excited but also really nervous. I got in the pool and felt much calmer thanks to Beth and during my first taster session lesson I learnt different techniques that were explained at the start and I also managed to go up and down the lane and was just about swimming with Beth’s help and Beth was great helping me along the way! Can't wait for my next lesson. ☺️
Vaqas Razakat
Vaqas Razakat: I've had a great experience learning with Pete as a beginner swimmer. The lessons have all been well thought out and clearly explained. And most of all, have developed my confidence in the water in such a short period of time.
Matthew Hunter
Matthew Hunter: Pete, my son’s instructor, is totally brilliant. He is clearly really enthusiastic about teaching and the results are clear to see. Can’t rate Swim Now, and Pete in particular, highly enough.
Rosa Duran
Rosa Duran: Pete is a really good instructor, both patient and professional. I’ve learnt a lot and gained much more confidence in the water. Highly recommended.
Alun Price
Alun Price: So at 62 and retired I was inspired to snorkel but I didn’t like putting my head underwater. Pete built up my confidence using goggles and showed me how to use the snorkel equipment. I could already do freestyle swimming but Pete taught me breast stroke which is quieter around the fish. I’ve just returned for a holiday and did snorkel several times and cannot wait to do more. Here are some photos
Ross Coipel
Ross Coipel: Pete has been an excellent teacher and the place the lessons are held is very nice! Would 100% recommend
Mingtong Jiang
Mingtong Jiang: My instructor, pete, is a very patient instructor. He would explain every move patiently, as English was not my first language, he would explain the moves patiently and speak at a slower pace. Even though I did a lot of moves wrong, he would encourage me to keep trying and would correct my mistakes as well. Besides that he was very enthusiastic and made me very interested in swimming
Aliyah Razzaq
Aliyah Razzaq: I’ve been having lessons with Pete for a few weeks now and he’s amazing, explains everything so well and has built up my water confidence
Magda Hussein
Magda Hussein: I’ve been having my lessons with Pete who has been an amazing teacher. I’ve been surprised by how quickly I have been able to learn things all while feeling comfortable with the way things are progressing. My confidence has increased immensely and he’s been helping me meet all the goals I set for myself when I first started!
Ting Cheung
Ting Cheung: Pete’s a great teacher and we always come out the lesson feeling like we’ve improved on our techniques. The lesson has been flexible to accommodate for our busy schedules too. Highly recommend ☺️
Jacek B
Jacek B: Pate is very professional, friendly, supportive and patient.Would highly recommended Pete!!!
Amraj Singh
Amraj Singh: Been learning to swim with Pete he’s a really calm and patient teacher, takes his time to breakdown the techniques needed and has made me feel a lot more confident already in a few lessons. Can’t recommend him enough ☺️

Shane Batty
Shane Batty: Gym is pretty small, the changing rooms aren't great, lockers are separate and charge. Was expecting something similar to Hillsborough but was nothing like it unfortunately. The gym had most things needed though, people seemed to be concentrating on their own thing which I prefer.
manjunath chikkanna
manjunath chikkanna: Hard floor for badminton.
Storm 1uk
Storm 1uk: Great and friendly staff, good amenities for all your sporting needs and very helpful in the gym if needed.
Jackie Claxton
Jackie Claxton: Not swam for a while. Back in next week.Aways loved the pool.
Chemaine Maris
Chemaine Maris: Cheap and I would say cheerfull me and kids use them gym which is small but ok when it's busy machines are limited
Shane Ee
Shane Ee: Visit here for badminton. Plenty of car park, friendly staffs. Badminton Court is good. Only negative is the low ceiling roof in the sport hall, so shuttlecocks may stuck somewhere on the roof beams if hitting too high. We always try hard to avoid this. So I think it’s great for recreational purposes. 45 mins per session is not enough but this is the standard of the organisation. Would prefer 60 mins per session.
Tony Bottrill
Tony Bottrill: Been going for a long time very friendly staff and customers bit disappointed that theres no showers for the next 4 weeks but well cope a small but up to date one good for all types of fitness and ages

Justin Swain
Justin Swain: Been coming here for years to play Badminton. Basic but affordable 👌
Tanya Francis
Tanya Francis: Daughter been waiting on the list for lessons for 5 months, checked weekly to see how far away she was when my other child had his lesson to find out 2 weeks ago she had been removed from the list and not contacted (a glitch they said) the lady on the desk promised she’d rectify it and contact me back, suprise suprise she didn’t!So I called today to be told the only thing they can do is put her at the back of another very long list!! One disappointed 5 year old (who’s other friends went on the list after her) is yet again missing out. Avoid the list like the plague!!! Also the changing room showers and toilets always stink and aren’t up to a great standard.
John lally
John lally: A gym that opens at 830 in this day and age typical council... lazy hours that suit the employees only ...the state of the changing rooms a Mexican prison comes to mind
John Cassidy
John Cassidy: A good team to work with.
Nadim Zaman
Nadim Zaman: The pool is lovely although the showers, changing rooms are very tired. The place could do with refreshing. The lockers only accept 10p and often get stuck. The place would benefit from a refresh of the showers and changing facilities.
Joanne RICHARDSON
Joanne RICHARDSON: Great place just need changing rooms pool side sorting not been done in over 10 yrs
Poppy Megson
Poppy Megson: Smells funky and changing rooms feel like they haven’t been cleaned for about 3593838282819182 years and pool is always -29383828828283 degrees.

Storm 1uk
Storm 1uk: Good friendly staff clean swimming facilities
Lee Machin
Lee Machin: Removed the Swim Pods with no warning which we had been booking in almost every week since they began. We tried the regular sessions on Saturday and purposely chose one with very few spaces booked due to one of our children not handling busy areas too well. This seemed to work until the family from the next session decided they were going to start their session a good 10-15 minutes early and take over the pool.Generally the staff are polite and friendly and the cleanliness and condition of the pool is as expected for a local community centre. There are a few customers who mistake the changing rooms for the bins but it’s not the centres fault these tramps exist. There’s plenty of parking for the size of the centre especially disabled. However, please bear in mind if you need a blue badged space they fill up quickly usually by non blue badge holders. In fact, on our very first visit on the new time table 2 spaces were parked on by some woman who had just had her hair greased at the local chippy and then picked up her dangerously obese daughter and grand son.
Fiona L
Fiona L: Nice clean pool, friendly staff. Lockers need round trolley coin or old £1 coin. Free parking. Showers are VERY hot and at moment some aren’t working in Ladies shower area. Overall I really like the pool and would have given 5* but showers let it down a bit. Membership very good value, only £24 month and as I swim at least 4 times a week well worth it.
goneforapee
goneforapee: Lane swimming . Book in advance to get a time slot & it seems to be a great idea . You can try each slot & see which one works best for you . Buy a life card & go swimming for less than 4 quid . Recommended.
Lauren Machin
