Read the reviews and took the plunge to give the hair salon a try. I am soo glad that I did! The lady who washed and blow dried my hair was absolutely lovely (didn’t catch her name sorry!) and Andrea gave me a haircut who was super nice too. She cut my hair exactly the way I want, I’ve had long hair for years and was anxious about going short. She reassured me and made sure not to cut a huge amount off and kept checking with me which I love and appreciate so much. So pleased with my hair and will definitely be back! Staff are so lovely too :)

陈威利: From the hair allergy test to the chemical hair straightening appointment and cut, I was welcomed and felt comfortable with all the staff in the salon. The business is family run and you can really tell with the sense of friendly community (and also the cute dogs) :). I was told in detail all the steps that will be taken for my hair straightening as well as suggestions for how I should cut and maintain my hair. Staff constently check up on you and make sure you’re feeling okay during the entire process and whether you need anything, like teas coffees etc… I’ve had my hair chemically straightened at other salons but it’s safe to say that this might be my best experience so far, will definitely be coming back in the future when my hair needs touching up! Kate Jones: I’ve been visiting Sophie at T&G for over a year now since I moved to Sheffield and she is the best hairdresser I’ve ever had. She really listens to what I want and is a truly skilled hairdresser who knows how to deal with my very thick and unruly hair. Plus she is an all round lovely person and I always look forward to seeing her. The T&G Salon itself is lovely, very clean, great (free) drinks and all staff are friendly and attentive. I always feel great when I leave the salon. Thank you
HOLLY JOHNSON: I have thick curly hair and no one until I found Joanne at Sheffield knew how to cut it right. They would cut it straight along the bottom so I had it flat top and wide on the shoulders. Joanne knows exactly how to cut curly hair and always explains how she’s cutting it and why. Joanne was a nice woman however she had no idea how to style curly hair (even though she said she did) she kept tugging and pulling at my hair and blowing it all over my face which did not help with the curls: I can style them better myself. I couldn’t leave the salon in the way she left my hair it was a scraggly mess! so I asked for a blow dry and she seemed to get annoyed that I didn’t like it? She’s cut my hair way too thin and put more layers in when I asked her not too. Will not be going again it will take me months now to regrow the layers I was growing out in the first place.

Grace L Ding: Was left feeling disappointed after my first experience with Toni and Guy in Sheffield. I booked an consultation before hand and showed pictures of what I wanted and was told it was achievable and no problems were raised. However, when I arrived I was then told it was not possible to achieve what I wanted (blonde balayage), which was obviously frustrating as that was why I booked the consultation. I left with my hair more brown than when I went in and did not resemble the picture I showed at all. I do understand that it may not of been possible to go as blond as I wanted, however, I should of been made aware of this before I went in, as I did not want my hair the colour it is. Ultimately, I paid a LOT of money for a balayage that I was left dissatisfied with the colour of. However the cut on my hair was satisfactory. Services: Hair coloring , Curly hair , Hairstyling

M Y: Customer service wasn’t great. I got a cut, blow dry and damage control treatment which cost under £70. The hair cut was ok but when she was blow drying and styling my hair I could feel my hair being pulled out. She was aware that the round brushes pulled hair and I even mentioned the brushes aren't great. She even brushed my hair with the round brush a couple of times knowing it tugged my hair. Also she managed to get hair all over my clothes. Cut was okay, service wasn’t great so won’t be going again. Didn’t see a difference with the treatment too.Service:Hairstyling

Charlotte Hall: Great experience in here. Been a few months since my last cut and Demi did a really good job of it and was really friendly.I also had my hair coloured by Holly and she was brilliant. I went in with quite a good idea of what I wanted but she was really knowledgable about the process and helped me makes decisions on colour and also style. I felt really confident with it and the end result is brilliant and exactly what I wanted.Also felt very COVID safe - they provided a disposable overgrown and a mask and everyone wears full PPE.

And I am super happy with the result. The colour has come through and looks incredible! Lorna Smith: I’ve been coming to Volt since it opened and it really is a fabulous salon! The atmosphere is friendly and it’s nice to have a glass of wine whilst I sit and discuss what I’m going to have done. My hair is thick and needs taming and with a busy life I need my hair to look good but with minimal styling required. Jennie cuts and colours my hair to perfection and has a great eye for colour and style and knows just what to do to make my hair look great. The juniors are really lovely (Debbie, Eden and the gang) and Maxine also offers beauty treatments... the eyelash extensions are amazing. If you want a professional service with expert hair care and advice then I thoroughly recommend this salon to you. If your hair looks good then you usually tend to feel good about yourself and after a visit to Volt that feeling is guaranteed!

Sarah Wilkins: I recently won the Valentines Day competition at the Volt Salon and I can’t recommend them enough! I had my first consultation with Leah and it was fab. Leah did such a good job to transform my hair blonder (I’m naturally dark). I also had my makeup done with Eden which was looked great! She is really considerate with what type of makeup you’d like. I only like very minimal eye makeup and was really pleased with how it looked. My boyfriend also received his hair cut and I received a goodie bag full of great hair treatments, sweets, makeup etc. I can’t recommenced the salon enough! It was a really great experience and I would definitely re visit as a normal customer. Thanks guys xo

However, I came across Volt Salon on Instagram and after reading reviews, I booked my first appointment and had an amazing experience. My hairdresser, Leah, is amazing! She did an excellent job on my hair, and I couldn't be happier with the results. She's also super friendly and easy to talk to.I highly recommend Volt to anyone :)
rachel bailey: I visited Volt for the second time last Thursday and was greeted with a warm welcome by the receptionist. My hair was in desperate need of a good cut. Leah the stylist asked me how I wanted my hair and I explained to her that I wanted my hair thinning whilst shortening the length to my shoulders in a nice medium Bob. Leah did exactly what I asked for. She wasn't shy & lazy with the scissors like alot of other stylists have been at other salons I've visited in the past. She cut quite alot of thickness out of my hair, making it lighter and more manageable to style. There was that much hair on the floor that you could've knitted a jumper out of it. Yep, I'm definitely returning to this salon again in another 8 weeks time for my trim. I won't go anywhere else because this is the best salon in Sheffield. You get given a choice of drinks, a biscuit and a nice head massage, with decent 80s music in the background. Although located in the middle of Yorkshire, all the staff members I encountered during my time there had the air of high level professionals with a contemporary and sophisticated vision.Having been raised in the capital city of a culturally very high-maintenance country, in an area where all the nation's celebrity hair stylists can be found within a 1km radius, I have been used to a high standard which made me regret the few times I decided to experiment away from home. I just happened to spot this salon a few times on my way to work and it definitely had a different feel about it compared to others in the city, so it peaked my interest.I went to Gemma for the first time, gave her a very vague description of what I was after and she completely nailed it. She also took into consideration my day-to-day hair habits so that the adjustment into my new hairstyle can be as effortless as possible. The layers she gave me are perfect by my needs, nothing sticks out when I braid it and she made my thin hair look full and healthy for real, not just as an initial effect of salon styling. It also looks natural, flowy and the layers are well blended, and not choppy like I've seen some people do it.I am very happy that I found this place. It's by far the best hair dressers in Sheffield.They have excellent Covid measures which is one of the reasons I chose this salon.The salon was really relaxed and not busy. All staff were friendly, professional and authentic.My whole experience from start to finish was amazing and I can't wait to go back in a few months.I usually hate having my hair washed but the lady who washed my hair was gentle.I found that I didn't need to make lots of small talk and the chat was very relaxed.I've been to most of the salons in Sheffield in the last 6 years and I rarely go back to the same salon. Soph Louise: Went in for a weave on my birthday, after telling me it was £10 a row over the phone i was charged £50 while i was there for 4 rows- not sure why but anyway… had my weave done and looked at it when i got home, the lady had used black thread on my bleach blonde hair so it looked shocking. Violet O.: Quite an unprofessional approach. Had an appointment booked 2 weeks in advance, turned up on time and she was busy with another client. She then asked me to return at another time and then upon further investigation, found out she had triple booked and blamed me for not double checking with her before coming. I did not get an apology for the mix up even though I had travelled for the appointment and she wasn't bothered by it. A shame as I obviously had to cancel plans and keep my day free for that appointment. Due to my experience, I would not recommend her as a first option.

I came initially a few years ago after a botched haircut from another salon, then Mitch worked his magic and I have been coming back ever since. I have very thick medium length hair and have had various cool and flattering hairtcuts of different lengths over the years. Especially if you want something more modern but expertly done, a change, or just high quality - go there. Pleasant salon, pleasant people, worth it.

N: I went to the salon with pretty high expectations- good reviews, the staff were super friendly and you get a discount with your first trip. I was there the entire day and I was excited whilst the stylist bleached my hair. It looked really even whilst she was bleaching my hair and I was really excited for the final result. I could hear the stylists talking between themselves whilst they applied the colour though and things went bad very fast. I felt like bursting into tears when she had finished. I’d spent the entire day at the salon and it was really uneven dark underneath and super bright at the top. Not only that but they didn’t offer to cut and finish it. The trip cost me £120 even after the discount so I dread to think what it would have cost had she charged me full price. I was devastated with the results my hair hasn’t stopped breaking off yet and I’m left with uneven hair that is in awful condition. I contacted the salon to ask and at the time they offered for one of their stylist to have a look at it but I couldn’t muster the will to go back there! Go at your own peril.

Katie Barber: I've been going to laundry since it opened and I hope I will never have to go anywhere else!I'm always happy with my hair, I love everyone who I've had a haircut with there.It's a laid back kind of place, I feel uncomfortable in most hair dressers which have strip lighting, forced conversation and and highly preened staff. I also hate having to pick a hair style out of a magazine - which nobody at laundry has ever made me do. They usually have their own great ideas about how my hair should look. Sofia Sans: I had a really negative experience here unfortunately. I don't like to write negative reviews but feel it's only fair to warn people.The stylist cancelled my appointment when I was on the way there so I had to reschedule (it was for a wedding so this meant I had to reorganise a lot to fit him in last minute).I wasn't offered a coffee and had to ask for water. He washed my hair with scalding hot water and all tools on the hottest setting, on one of the hottest days of the year as well! His hands were shaking while he was cutting my hair and I've honestly never had someone tangle my hair up so much - it hurt while he was brushing it.I showed him pictures of what I wanted and he said that was fine but only gave it a trim. I asked him to put more layers in - he said yes but didn't do it. I asked him a couple more times then gave up. I didn't even bother discussing the front because he wasn't paying attention to what I wanted. He then charged me £40 which was more than discussed on the phone and far too much for a trim. There was no one else around to discuss it with so I decided to leave and try again another day.At the wedding I realised it was uneven. I thought maybe he was new and wanted to give him a chance so I thought I'd give the salon a ring to resolve it and maybe get him more training or something. Unfortunately he answered the phone, refused to pass it over to anyone and argued with me. A friend of mine was seen by the same guy and had a very similar experience.Service:Hairstyling

Anna Grochowska: I had a haircut at Laundry two weeks ago. I only wanted to get rid of split ends and have just a simple one length haircut. The haircut itself was not the worst, but also not great. For the money I paid I was expecting a perfect cut where every hair is the same length and the bottom line looks very sharp and clean which would look my fine hair a bit thicker. Unfortunately, the hairdresser at Laundry did not achieve that look. He shampooed my hair without even telling me what products he was using. I don't know what brand the products were or for what type of hair they were. I could also smell cigarettes when the hairdresser was washing my hair. I guess he must have smoked just before I came. I was not offered anything to drink. My whole visit lasted 30 minutes and I paid £50. I am not from Sheffield, I need to travel around 40 minutes to get there. On the day of my haircut, I came there only to get a haircut. I had found Laundry on Instagram and I thought it was a bit expensive, but you usually need to pay a bit more for a good haircut at a nice place. Unfortunately, that's not the case at Laundry. I feel like you can pay £20-30 and have exactly the same (if not better) haircut. When you pay £50, you just expect more. I will not be coming back to Laundry and I can't recommend this place.

Charged for a full cut and only took an inch of the ends, with no shape or styling added. The stylist also didn't really speak to me for the three hours or so I was there, which was pretty uncomfortable.Manager who emailed me after I complained clearly didn't care, offered me some vouchers to have more colour added but said I'd have to sign a waiver because it could wreck my hair. Shivani Joshi: Came in to get my haircut as it was damaged and the cut was great to begin with, a week later came in to get it toned and the person doing it managed to tone it 'darker than he expected' leaving me with a dirty blonde colour which is not what I was going for, ended up paying WAY too much and two weeks later I went to a different salon, the hairdresser was just as shocked at the colour as I was, and also told me my hair was cut uneavenly. So as much as the hairdressers at Laundry brag about their accomplishments I still wouldn't go back.

I then took almost a year break and went back yesterday to her to get my hair cut and get balayage again and honestly she couldn’t have done a better job my hair always feels so soft and healthy after she’s done and the feel lasts for so long. I’ve had all sorts on my hair over the years (bleaching my own hair, box dye, cutting it my self and so on) and I trust her completely with my hair to the point where I ended up just asking her what she thinks would look best and let her do it she is the only stylist that I would ever go to for my hair. Charlotte Louise Coltart: First time going to this salon, I was running late and I totally understood that I wouldn't be able to have my hair styled after my cut which I was fine with as this was my fault however the hair stylist Millie seemed to be so rude throughout the appointment and said she won't cut my hair as they are extensions (I just wanted them trimmed) I agreed to just the fringe and blow dry where she burnt me with the hairdryer multiple times and tugged at my hair really hard that my scalp is now red. The whole appointment she felt annoyed that she had to do my hair and honestly I felt uncomfortable, I'm glad I wasn't charged for a full cut however the customer service was terrible. Also she left my soaking wet hair to soak through to my top which isn't ideal.
Frog Lover: I had half a head of highlights done by Millie. I tried to make conversation but she didn’t really talk back, which is fine as I thought she might just want to concentrate on her work.My bleach on my head was left in for quite a while and when it was washed off it was a lot lighter than my previous highlights already in my hair. My hair was toned with two different toners, which looked okay at first but after a few washes has revealed the top of my head is much lighter than the bottom, and the front extremely light and damage.I may have caught her in a bad day but Millie seemed pretty rude during the service and it was off putting.I have had to have a different hairdresser fix my hair which they were shocked with how the highlights had been done.Unfortunately I used to love this salon, but will not be returning in the future.Services:Hair highlighting,Hair coloring

Good vibes from the staff, very friendly etc. They always style my hair at the end in a way that makes my hair looks GORGEOUS (whereas some other places just straighten my hair which looks a bit naff). 10/10 do recommend!!!!

Boo Hobbs: I had a hair cut here a few months ago and it was amazing, a reasonable price and I left feeling amazing. I went back a few days ago to get my fringe trimmed a bit, I’m not certain who cut it, but I am now going to be wearing a hat for the next month or so. The woman who cut it went straight in way shorter than I’d asked for and completely unevenly, leaving a massive chunk on one side missing. I asked her to fix this and instead she just took the whole thing shorter (in no way fixing the damage, if anything there’s now a larger chunk missing). I’d wanted a gradual fade out from my fringe (I had a Wolf cut), I now look like Lord farquad. I was in tears by the end. They didn’t charge me, thankfully. Very disappointed and will not be going back.

Strawberry Jelly: It was unfortunatelly the worst hairdresser experience in my life. My haircut was done by Kenzie who displayed 0 hairdressing knowledge. She kept cutting away, going much shorter than the reference pictures I had shown. When I asked to look at the back of my head there was a a "hole" where she had cut too much. At that point, I asked for someone else to come and finish the haircut cause clealry she didn't know what she was doing. Another hairdresser came to apologize and helped fixing my hair. All this time Kenzie had dissapeared to the backroom and din't come out to apolize. Thankfully, I wasn't charged for the service.

Angela Talford: This was my first visit to Brownes. Having being a bit disappointed with the last few salons I've used, I wanted to try somewhere new. I booked in just before lockdown, and my appointment had to be cancelled, but they were in touch the day the salons re-opened and offered a new appointment for full head foils and cut/re-style. My appointment was on time. The salon has a lovely vibe, nicely decorated, great city location, which is not reflected in the price, which I found to be very reasonable. Lots of care was taken using disposable gowns/towels etc throughout the appointment and the staff are professional and friendly. Grant is honest and not afraid to tell you what is or isn't possible with your hair - and life! They're quick to offer a drink, whether that be a Tea or a Tot.Whenever I've had to rearrange an appointment, its booked in to fit in with with my schedule as near as possible even if that means them opening early or staying late.Appointments are never rushed.I never leave with out re-booking and always leave feeling fine!

Abby-leigh S: Quality of service is spectacular at Wild 🌈 Chris has worked wonders on my hair twice, most recently I had a full-head colour of gloss, Balyage, Olaplex treatment, toner, and a cut and finish (with styling), and the photo speaks for itself! It took roughly 4 hours in total, purely because I have long hair, but I was provided with endless cups of tea and bags of mini cheddars to put me on. Would definitely recommend a visit or even a chat with Chris to discuss any ideas you want to explore with your hair as he is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and talented in this industry.Total cost = £218£45 deposit when booking (though this varies for bookings over £100)

Alison is amazing and literally the loveliest and friendliest person ever. She has always done my hair exactly how I want it and even though I have a tricky hair type she has always known how to work with it; I always feel so happy and confident with my hair when I leave and that's why it's the only hair salon and stylist I have consistently gone back to. I recently had a curly perm done with Alison which has been a dream of mine for ages and she did an incredible job as always, and gave me great advice and tips on how to maintain it. Elle Butterworth: Really pleased with my balayage from Kurt. Getting so many compliments. It has helped me like my hair again and want to make more of an effort with it. I can struggle with getting my hair done with my ADHD, some salons can be overstimulating and I've tried so many salons in Sheffield, always falling for the hipster/gimmicky ones. But this is a great small business salon - the owners are working alongside the staff and you can tell many of the clients coming in are regulars. I'll definitely be one of those regulars too!

I went in to get my hair dyed darker and unfortunately my hair took to the dye too much so it was a lot darker than I wanted so I rang back the next day and they fit me in and corrected it even though they were really busy and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result! Everyone’s super friendly as well and my hair was styled beautifully wavy.
