StandBy Method Acting Studio: what do users think?

Tracy Bowler: I am Sienna who attends The Standby Method Youth program. Before Standby my acting was very basic and I didn’t really know anything about the craft, never mind what method acting was. Since being at Standby I have been on many modules and have learnt so many techniques and exercises to help me relax, concentrate, connect to characters, analysis scripts, build characters from nothing and all of the above. If your dream is to be an actor and you have no idea where to start like I did, Standby is a great opportunity to grow you craft and take steps into becoming your dreams self. I still have a long way to go but with the support of Standby I am getting closer each day!

Luke Goddard: I have been training with StandBy for nearly 10 years now. Before i begun my training i always wanted to attend classes that would match my work ethic and my goals. Standby has been a safe haven for me to grow in my work with the support and the quality of training that Louise provides. The classes are all set up very well and are catered to give you the tools to help you pave your career in the way you want to work. Since i have been attending StandBy i have managed to win an award for my work and solely work in professional paid productions due to the range and quality of work Louise provides. If you want to be able to improve your skills and craft and want to work in depth to make you a more rounded actor StandBy is the place to train and work

Mark Kelwick: My training at Standby is always top quality. Every module I complete I gain valuable techniques and skills to put towards my craft as an actor. Louise is very friendly, and her passion for all things acting is captivating and motivates me further as I head deeper into the acting industry. The classes are in a safe environment where there is no judging of other people’s work as we are all on a different journey with our acting careers. Everyone is supportive of each other, and it’s a nice community to be a part of. It saddens me that I’m unable to return each term for every module due to other commitments, but when I have more availability I will always further my training at Standby, it’s the place where I’ve seen massive changes in my acting, it’s helped me further with my acting career, there is always loads to learn on every module, and you have a lot of fun along the way! I always have the best time at Standby. I recommend Standby highly to other aspiring actors out there looking for professional and affordable acting training. It’s started to change my life for the better, it can definitely do the same for you! There’s no doubt that Standby deserves 5/5!

Andrew Charles: Standby method acting studio has helped me so much. The teaching is superb and clearly communicated to suit all ages and I always left classes feeling highly motivated. Alongside learning about the method you also find a fantastic teacher in Louise! Whenever I was feeling nervous or doubtful she would give me complete reassurance and constructive criticism to help me improve, because she understands the hardships of the craft and it’s balancing breakthroughs and that is invaluable in a teacher. Without Standby method acting studio I might never have got into the drama school I wanted. Thank you standby!

Emily Rose Holt: The training given at StandBy is exceptional. Louise is the most passionate, dedicated and hardworking individual I have ever come across, and she inspires me not only in class but every single day with the exclusive content you receive by training at StandBy, such as blogs, social media posts and lives. Before training at StandBy I had no direction and no real understanding of the craft, but now after just over a year of training, I have learnt so much and hope to be training at StandBy for many years to come. Join us!

Patrick Price: I have always loved acting, however I strayed away from it in early adult life. Thus, I ended up working a dead end office job which did not fulfil me at all. I was painfully aware of how much I was just existing and not living and decided to take action. I stumbled across StandBy just over a year ago, and I was hungry to return to acting and fulfil my dream of getting into an accredited drama school to study full time. I contacted Louise explaining what I wanted and she was so helpful and supportive and really understood the position I was in. My confidence had been shattered and I needed to rebuild this from scratch. I have since had fortnightly 1:1 sessions which Louise has designed around me and what I want to focus on and she has been fully supportive of me all the way. She has taught me so much about the method, which is what I love, and I have learnt lessons from my time at StandBy that are PRICELESS! If you are thinking about it... JUST DO IT! I took the leap and it was the best thing I ever did. I have found my spark for life and my passion for acting all over again and... I have gotten into drama school, which Louise told me I would all along (she was right)! But I could not have done that without StandBy. The one piece of advice I would give you is... MAKE YOUR DREAM A REALITY AND JOIN STANDBY!

Jonathan Blake: Since training at StandBy Method Acting Studio for over 2 years . I have improved dramatically at acting. I went from faking everything and forcing for emotions from prior bad acting training, to the ability of truly connecting to character’s and really empathising as if they were real. I’ve also in this time landed a big London agent , sharing an agent with John Bradley from game of thrones. And gained so much acting knowledge.
Jody Wing: Just because you see yourself as an actor it doesn't mean that's all you were created to be. If you put yourself in a box, that's all you and other people will ever see you as. You can't root your identity in what you do, because if you fail, what then? You can't root your identity in what others say about you or what you say about yourself because you and others cannot truly see the purpose humans were created for and when they themselves and you are burdened with guilt, shame and self condemnation... Trust me. true love does not hold account of wrong doing, true love doesn't need to be loved back it's patient, it's kind,...it's forgiveness... People carry baggage through life and trauma and tell everyone there pain and write books about there trauma because they have formed an identity in it, if you want to be a great actor you need to realise that you first have to be free of your guilt, shame, regret, self condemnation and the spirit of offense so many hold onto! That means a new identity, now that's the hard part! Trust me a clinical psychologist can't fix you! The best physician is the one who created us! Don't believe me? Try it... Go ahead! Call on Jesus and ask him to renew your mind and heart and forgive you of your sins, because we have all fallen short of the glory of God and there is none good! Ask him to make he's home in your heart and the holy spirit will help you do the rest... Stop trying to live in your own strength, the government and the principalities of this world will devour you slowly if you don't have jesus! Root your identity in him.. not the things of this world that will soon pass away... And just like in acting.. it's about a RELATIONSHIP with jesus not RELIGION... Don't get it twisted... This ain't no Catholic priest nonsense! It's love! The true purpose of humans! To be love! I might sound out of your mind, but I am not out of my mind! Your heart can take you to places your head can't fit!
Jonathan -: StandBy changed my life for the better! Before starting at Standby i was a very under confident actor who never believed in himself, and having being told i was no good by other people didn't help either. I never really got any support at home from my family for wanting to be an actor, so i felt very alone and uncertain about whether it was worth perusing an acting career. I was nearly on the verge of giving up after not getting into drama schools, because i felt at the time i was no good as an actor and felt like a fraud, but it wasn't until i found Standby back in 2015 that my eyes were opened to a whole new world of possibility's.Louise is by far the best tutor i have ever had the pleasure of working with, because her passion and dedication to her students is second to non. I have been pushed harder than ever in my life and nothing was ever easy, as i had a lot of challenges and pitfalls along the way, but i kept on getting back up again and proving that i am more than capable of achieving my dream. Louise gets the best out of every student and you couldn't wish for a nicer person to teach you. If you ever any desire at all to become an actor then Standby will give you everything you could ever need and more! Upon writing this review i am over the moon to announce that i am the first ever alumni to complete all of the modules at Standby, and that is something i am very proud of. The biggest thank you to Louise because i would never have realized my true potential without your help and guideline. Thank You!
Mary Margaret Lyons: I'm thrilled that I attended The Marketing Masterclass at Standby Method Acting Studio. Louise gave me the kick-start I needed to get back in the game. She even recommended I contact someone who was casting my type, and I booked it! With age and attitude changes, I'd become a bit lost about where I fit in the business these days. After this class, I am crystal clear about my type. It's so liberating to know exactly what roles I might be considered for. Thank you, Louise. You are amazing.

The Sheffield College: what do users think?

Dominika: I did access to science courses, I truly enjoyed it. Brian Jackson is the best teacher. Help is there available. The Access course in Sheffield college was the best decision I made.

Cb Dolloway: Chemistry teacher for A LEVEL Brian Jackson is a genius. I wish I used him long time ago. I switched from TRC rotherham college 4yrs ago who didn’t care about their students. I will apply to university soon for sports science.

The University of Sheffield: what do users think?

Debarati bhattacharya: Simply Amazing !! English world charm.Great gardens, labs and food 😍 Ppl are quite warm and friendly...Highly recommend 👌

Robert Payne: Great university, next door to a wonderful park & museum. Although the University has improved its biodiversity and green space, the Arts Tower car park is an atrocious blight on the campus and desperately needs renovation into a welcoming green space.

Peter Marosan: It seems a great university, with excellent student union, some tradition and modern building. The connection to the nature (Peak District is in the neighborhood), industrial partners and local community create a vibrant place.

Ogo Maduewesi: I am here on Commonwealth Professional Fellowship at the Clinical Psychology department and simply loving it. I already asked can I please study here?😀 That open elevator at The Art house really fascinated me😀... Just trying to get another snickers for the walks around. A beautiful students environment...I see how my days continues beautifully here...

Sheffield Hallam University: what do users think?

Oluwatomiwa Babalola`: An awesome place of higher learning, module leaders are superb in their doings and the academic environment is topnotch. Awesome architectural structures to stimulate your artistic curiosity and the likes. The modules are designed to help you grow not just burden you with mere academic activities and the exposure to state of the art equipment in your field to prepare you for life after your program is mind blowing....

Sankar V G: One of the best university, good facilities, student friendly and many more. Moreover when we talk about the place Sheffield is a very nice to live .

Brandon Cheung: Im not too sure how it compares to other unis but it is super confusing to get around but there are a lot of study spaces.

Mashan Chaudhry: I am also studying at Sheffield Hallam University too and which is one of the best universities in the UK in terms of teaching and courses. As I have completed my foundations in Business And Management and it was a wonderful environment. For suppose if you miss some of the parts of the lecture or forgot to take notes, you can cover the rest from the blackboard of your uni blackboard site such as Shu Blackboard where you can simply enter your Username or password created to access the blackboard and then module sites or you can take workshops which will take place from 5 to 6 pm depending on what time your module a leader is available.

Film Unit Cinema: what do users think?
Eleanor Bradley: Absolutely love going here, so great for students and an amazing idea! The films they put on are of great variety and it's a very relaxed atmosphere
Oliver Evans: Really good selection of films and an enjoyable experience. Saw Drive there and loved it
Lisa Maltby: Went here for a introduction lecture from the ELTC. Not much left space
Ľudmila Kučíková: Although a part of students' union (located in the Students Union Building), this cinema is also available to general public and offers screenings of new releases just several weeks after their premier which is pretty good especially considering the cheap price (£3/ticket). I believe it is just a regular lecture theatre, but there is not as much difference to a standard cinema, especially considering sound which was pretty decent.
Tal Tal: They showed my movie here in front of the medical students and doctors the sound system here is fantastic the screen is amazing thankyou to all involved it was a fantastic night that won't be forgotten
Liam Raine: Great price, great atmosphere, minuscule seats. I'm 6'2 and can only sit at the very front row.
emma parry: Great value for films. Really family friendly and you can get great pic n mix in the students Union shop!
Lydia Gordon: The staff are so friendly, the movies are awesome and so varied and the tickets are sooo cheap!!!!
Eleanor Clarke: Freezing cold. Afua Hirsch was brilliant but evening ruined by being so cold
Ian Kerr: Great programme of films, run by enthusiastic volunteers, and it'd cheap, only 3 quid a ticket
Nina Anin: Nice student cinema in a big lecture theatre. Shame the seats are so small, but the prices are cheap and it shows good films.
lord_moriarty: Nice selection of films but awfully small seats.
Marine Redon: Great student cinema. Runs professionally and at a competitive price!
Francesca Leach: Chairs for tiny people but can't argue with the price and film selection
Timmy Agboola: Top notch
Murali Chidambaram Veerabahu: The last row is a little cramped. Unisex toilet opposite the entrance.
Sahand Simaei: Good place and very decent prices but it’s loosing a star because of the tight seats but it’s not a big deal, the staff are amazing and very welcoming overall great place to be highly recommended.
Nick Kennard: Great experience from this student cinema providing a mix of new and classic films. Only drawback is the seats are a little short on leg room
Rachel Ripley: Has all the hit films only a few months after release, plus niche interest pieces, documentaries and foreign films. I've seen films I would never otherwise have watched, because at £3 there's nothing to lose. Cinema quality screen and sound, very professionally run by student volunteers
Eduardo Pérez Guagnelli: Value for money, after a day of work on Wednesday. Very nice!
Drew McLaughlin: A charity run by students, they do a great job. Makes the cinema affordable!

Newfield Secondary School: what do users think?
Ilikefire: Good school but there are issues. As a student I can tell all the things that are wrong. bullying is common. during lessons most students constantly mess around.they say they don't but teachers pick favorite students and target the ones that they don't likePositives.teachers are nice.issues are solved relatively quickly.many extra things to do.teachers usually listen to what you have to sayAll in all it's a good school.
Derek Pearce: I didn't want to send our son to this school in the first place. 4 weeks in to his time here and we've had an incident of bullying on school property. One of a group of older boys has tripped our son up "as a joke" we're now out of pocket as he needs a new pair of trousers. Not a joke an act of bullying to show off in front of his friends. No way to contact the school after 3.45pm, so much for the promises at open evening and parents evening.
Alexander Knerek: Does Ms.Fort still work there? I never got to say bye lol
Amelia Porter: Newfield is a wonderful school academically and the teachers make learning fun and easy. However, one of the biggest downfalls of this learning institution is the way they deal with racism, particularly towards ethnic minorities. There has been many incidents where they've shifted the spotlight onto other irrelevant factors except, onto the challenge at hand. This seriously needs to be dealt with because racism isn't something that should exist in an institution that is meant to produce better individuals who can then make a better future. DO BETTER!
Brenda Bemba: Newfield is a school that provides students with great opportunities and a great education. However, on numerous occasions this school/staff have failed to deal with acts of racism towards students in the correct way. This has then led students to believe that discriminating towards other students is okay. I don’t think that the impact it can have on a child’s mental wellbeing is being truly understood.Something needs to change, considering Newfield has a high number of POC (people of colour) students !DO BETTER.
Bella Gregory: I am thinking about moving schools and u am concerning this school would it be good I am in year 9
sidiki sidibe: is newfield a good skl as im going there in september
Louise Roberts: Been really happy with how they've taken lockdown in their stride! My kids feel safe and are doing well
kerry Berry Anne Sheppard: Not
Nicole Taylor: Y6 Open Evening. We were really very impressed by the school and felt welcomed by all the staff and students who were helping. After visiting the school we felt happy with our decision to include Newfield Secondary School as one of our options and hope to send our son there next year if we were to get offered a place.
Avignones: I Want To Go Newfield SchoolsTransfered From Sydney Russell School
Andy Hui Liu: Amazing school, I met alot friends and staff member are really nice and helpful
Garry Burrows: Just in front of newfield school not far off cat lane 🐾🐾
Archie Bell: I go to newfiled school and good school.
Lisa Hunt: Guys I just want to say that I am so happy for all of you really you are beautiful as well can't wait to see you again
Larenz&Dok DSO: Yr 7 is succh an eesy yeer my werk is sooooo eesy the teechers nether tell me uff becus im a gudy too shuus. much like newfeld school cant wayt to be yeer eyt.
Manmoon Singh: Great school
Champ: In the school you are not allowed your blazers off and this makes some students very ill
Samed Mohammed: Really good
cassius roberts: It is good
