Bikesafe Rider Training: what do users think?

Callum Petherick: Loved learning to ride here, the instructors are all very nice and helpful when teaching. I did my CBT and A2 license here: I always looked forward to a riding session, will definitely come back to do my unrestricted license in 2 years. Anne and the instructors took care of everything for me so I just turned up to ride the bike and take my tests. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer experience learning to ride a bike! Would heavily recommend Bikesafe.

Ian: I successfully completed the CBT training with Bikesafe Rider Training (on my second attempt). A massive thank you to Anne and all the great instructors who supported me through the process. I’m back at Bikesafe to start the DAS training at the end of October 2022, and looking forward to it. I can definitely recommend Bikesafe Rider Training, everyone there goes the extra mile and nothing is too much trouble. Thanks again to everyone.

wayne corbett: On the 15th of this month (November 22) I completed my training and acquired my full unrestricted bike license through BikeSafe. Anne and the team were amazing, friendly, approachable, up for a laugh and most of all outstanding with their knowledge and tuition. I was recommended BikeSafe by a friend of mine who had just recently completed his direct access through them and honestly I am glad he passed on their details. From the initial conversation over the phone with Anne to getting out on the road with Phil and the team. The training is tailored to the needs that would help prepare you for your CBT, theory, Mod 1 and Mod 2. I never did my CBT or theory training through BikeSafe, I did however complete a three day 125cc training sessions that helped build my confidence and riding skills that prepared me for the bigger bikes that you will use on the test days. When you finally book your Mod 1&2 the team will book a full days training session focused on the specific test, you also are able to complete Mod 1 mock tests on the DSA track pad (which does help in giving an insight on what you are to expect on the day. Mod 2 training is also acquired through on road riding lessons and whoever your instructors are they will tailor the rides along test routes and also various other routes so that you enjoy your time on the road. If you are looking at starting your training then give BikeSafe a call. Honestly you will not regret it and you will get out of it what you put in! Anne and the team.. Thank you so much.

Ben Sheldon: Absolutely fantastic service from Anne & Phil to get me through my test so quickly & before my CBT ran out. Would certainly recommend to all. Mod 1 & Mod 2 passed first time. Thanks ever so much!

Paul Massey: It’s my birthday today 🎉 I’m 46 years young this very day and I’ve spent it on my Ducati Scrambler 800 thanks to these fine folk. Never ridden before. I did my CBT in March, I passed my MOD 1 with one minor, I then passed my MOD 2 two days ago on the 10th May, also with only one minor. Yesterday I picked up my bike from SMC and rode it home. It seems like it’s been no time at all, it’s just two months going from absolutely nothing and no clue to a full A license with enough understanding, knowledge and confidence to build upon as I go it alone. I’ve enjoyed my time with all the staff at Bike Safe, they’ve looked after me, they’ve assured me, reassured me, they’ve really pushed me but also kept me relaxed when it’s really mattered. Anne loves her card machine but trust me, you’re getting a good deal. She’s lovely really. Honest. Simon was excellent on the CBT and every time I’ve seen him since, great guy with too many stories to tell. You’ll not get bored and he’ll look after you. I still owe him a few Mars bars though. Steve has built my confidence brilliantly and I’ve learned a lot from him. He’s told me exactly what I needed to hear and pushed me to do better, he’s also been a good laugh. I hope to see him on the road sometime. Top bloke and wiggles his mahoosive bike through the cones and figure eight annoyingly easily. Phil really needs to cheer up and clean his panniers. Seriously Phil; they smell of coconut and pineapple. Sort it out. Thanks though; you’ve also taught me a lot even though it pains me to say so. Peter. Wow; Pete’s an absolute diamond. He’s equally bonkers and brilliant in massive measure. I almost fell off due to laughing so hard on the way to my MOD 2 as myself and my partner trainee had such a laugh with Pete en route to sunny Rotherham. Just what we needed as we were so relaxed when it came to the test. I love Pete. We all love Pete. You’ll love Pete, trust me. I’ve already made good friends with other trainees and hope to keep in touch with these folk at Bike Safe as well, they really are rather good eggs. Thanks again. 💢👊💢

neil f: Professional and expert training. Took me from CBT to full licence in less than a month. Confidence inspiring tuition with good feedback meant I felt ready and prepared to pass first time.

Ian More: Fantastic experience, managed to do my Mod1 and Mod2 tests first time without any issues, training was superb and all the instructors were extremely helpful. :) many thanks guys, - Ian
Robin Sykes: Excallent riding school, I passed my full bike license first time in a really short space of time. All the staff are great, super attentive and always give good advice and tips. Can't recommend enough
Craig Cooper: Just passed my full license today with these after passing my CBT with them last month. Worked with 3 instructors throughout the whole process (Dave, Chris and Phil) and I can't fault any of them. Would definitely recommend👍
Hamza ali: I have never rated or reviewed someone bad on here. But sorry guys, Im highly disappointed in bikesafe rider training is so bad that i have to do this. When you call them to enquire and book, the lady on the phone talks to you very nicely and everything but once paid and everything, they wont talk to you properly. The instructors were nice but the management is so bad. They over charged me for cbt and then made me do so many lessons and still wanted me to do more. I changed my school and they sent me straight to test, passed it on my first attempt.Would not recommend bikesafe rider to anyone.
arrymann241: Completed my CBT recently with a few friends of mine. Very enjoyable day. The trainers and all staff involved are a great bunch of people. Would highly recommend to anyone. Thanks for a great day Bikesafe.
Mia: Could not have more good things to say about BikeSafe! All of the staff are lovely people and great at what they do. I did the direct access route and they got me through it all on the first attempt! Would definitely recommend them!
Sam Crookes: I passed my full bike licence, from CBT to mod 2 with Phil and Steve. Their knowledge and experience helped me pass first time, and made every day enjoyable. Couldn't recommend these guys enough.

Tom Young: Great team.. will have a laugh but also get the job done.. absolutely buzzing that i got through the direct access in such a short time.. would definitely recommend
Saeid Hashemi: Really nice instructors ,I have passed my mod 1 and mod 2 at the first time, thanks Steve,Philip, Anne 😊
neil f: Professional and expert training. Took me from CBT to full licence in less than a month. Confidence inspiring tuition with good feedback meant I felt ready and prepared to pass first time.
Niqash Khayum: I had the pleasure of acquiring my full bike license with BikeSafe over the summer which involved completing my CBT, theory and both Mod 1+2. It was nothing but an enjoyable experience with a great bunch of instructors. Used to look forward to each and every lesson - always a great laugh. You won't regret it! Was a privilege to be taught by these guys!
Dan Proudman: Had a great experience doing my CBT training, the instructors, Steve and Simon were brilliant and I learnt alot 👍
Mark Summers: Did my Cbt with simon who was great. Explained everything really well. Just passed theory test so will be going back to Bikesafe for mod 1 and 2. See you soon.
Catherine Batley: Definitely recommend. I did my CBT and it was great. Simon was a really good instructor - knowledgeable, friendly and put me at ease. Very happy with my experience!
William Sykes: Originally I left my rating for their CBT course, but I'm editing to say that I booked my DAS to complete my full license shortly after and passed first time thanks to these guy's expertise. They took time with me and allowed me to develop the skills that I was least confident with and managed to book Mod 1 and 2 test slots quickly even when they were scarce due to covid backlogs. Also, the learner bikes (YBR 125s and MT-07s) are fantastic kit, no Chinese bikes or expense spared.Book with these guys and you're almost guaranteed to pass.
Nathan Barrow: Just finished my DAS with them and very satisfied with their service. Instructors are very knowledgeable and a pleasure to ride with, made the entire process very smooth so all I had to do was turn up on time and ride. Bikes are all in great condition so whether its just your CBT or a full licence, I highly recommend Bikesafe.
Jason Bamforth: I did a direct access course with Bikesafe a few months ago, passed first time. From the moment you arrive to do your CBT to the moment you pass, and you will pass if you listen to the fantastic instruction, you'll feel like part of the family. Anne arranges everything and knows what she's talking about, she'll guide you through the various dates and appointments. The instructors will then take you through the riding, sharing stories, advice, and the all important rules of the road and the test.Being close to Rotherham meant that we could access the test centres Mod1 course, yes Bikesafe have a mock test area they can setup at their centre in Sheffield but using the actual course you'll use on the day of your test helps to make it feel more familiar and comfortable. Also the ride over to Rotherham and back gets you used to riding on the roads, which you'll need to do in Mod2. After passing my Mod1, Bikesafe started to take me out on the test routes, but by now you'll be confident enough to ride them and it's more a case of getting used to the routes and having some of the 'gotcha's' pointed out to you by the instructor. The bikes you ride are perfect for what they need to do, CBT bikes take a lot of punishment, the bigger bikes feel so much better. If you're thinking of doing your A2 or DA then I can highly recommend Bikesafe. Their pass rate is high because the quality of their training and assessment of your ability (and that's extremely important) is first class.I've been riding now on a daily basis for the last few months and the things I learnt are part of every ride I take. Thanks to Steve and Ann and all the rest of the staff at Bikesafe.

K K Rider Training: what do users think?

Salty McSalt: From being a rider with virtually zero experience to being suitably confident to ride a 125cc on the open road in 8 hours. Haz was very patient with my clutch mishaps but managed to drill it into me eventually. Will be taking further lessons for full license with them when I get my updated work rota :)

Niamh Kelly: Fantastic day spent doing my CBT. Harley was clear, patient, and incredibly helpful throughout. I’ll be coming back soon for my full license for sure.

Dave Galloway: Absolutely fantastic!!! A great day and a great Instructor. It rained all day long, we got a little wet, but what a fantastic day. Harley, our Instructor, made the day so enjoyable and we learnt so much. Anyone that wants to do either a CBT or their Modules, full bike licence, or any other training, give these guys a call. Thank you for a fantastic day and making us feel at ease and so welcome. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

nettoner: Son did CBT training today with Harley and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Booking with Kyle was easy and communication was spot on. It’s easy to find and was a pleasant experience from start to finish. He’s just got in from his first solo ride after passing today and is buzzing to be mobile.

Richard Keller: Mod 1 & Mod 2 passed both first time, thanks to excellent support and tuition from Big Mick & Kyle. 1st class bikes and equipment, including BMW and Billy Bandit, plus they can provide all the safety gear if you don’t have your own yet. Can’t thank them enough for the quality of the lessons. Mick is really good at building confidence and giving feedback on mistakes. Both Mick and Kyle made this experience enjoyable, not just to get through the test, but real good fun too. When at the test centre saw a lot of other trainers turning up with duff equipment, people sharing bikes and not getting pre test lessons. Don’t waste your money go with a decent crew and give yourself a chance of passing firsts time.
Elcrest Drakenia: The guys are great and helpful, and so are the bikes. Rode a H reg Yamaha 125 and it was beautiful and really helpful in teaching me control of the vehicle. The instructors provide clear instructions and examples on what you need to do on the road and how to do it. They're also very observant and can provide good advice on how to improve riding. Overall great little place and I highly recommend for your CBT course.
Kimberley Ceaser: Finally built up the courage & confidence to do my CBT. The instructor Harley is amazing made me feel at ease and so comfortable. He explained everything clearly and was really helpful when I struggled to grasped some parts of it.When on the road he was encouraging and really helpful to make you feel safe and build your confidence on the road. I would highly recommend anyone who is in questioning whether to do their CBT… DO IT and do it with K K Riders.
Emma Thornton: My son has visited this am with an instructor, didn’t feel the need to share his name with him . From the off he was rude and ignorant towards him , the bike he was provided with was knackered to say the least , it required jump starting on numerous occasions well for the hour he was on it ! The car park was full of pot holes and mud and grass patches. He was supposed to be there until 4 pm he was told he failed at 12 pm without even getting off the patch of concrete? Apparently the couple of emergency stops he tried wasn’t satisfactory! He had no experience before on a bike and this person gave him 60 mins experience? The other client almost fell off the bike more than once and continues on !! How can 1 hour be enough training to fail ? I definitely wouldn’t recommend and will be requesting a refund. Absolute cowboy
John Young: This was the third CBT done with KK.No nonsense friendly staff who help you with whatever level you are at and are easy to talk with.Would recomend 👍
Craig Stones: Good training, top guys...cheers Harley and Kyle!
Jordan Atkinson: Couldn't recommend more, Harley the trainer made it a really fun enjoyable day, anyone thinking of booking do it.
Tom Muirhead: Excellent tuition from Harley today, very patiently delivered. Would highly recommend.
Jamal Mahroof: Great instructors who make you feel comfortable and love to have a friendly chat to keep the day enjoyable. Would definitely recommend getting training with them above anywhere else.Update: Having now also renewed my CBT with them after its 2 year expiry I am pleased to say nothing has changed, they are still friendly guys who'll make sure you get the training and guidance you require while still making it an enjoyable experience
Victor B: Very rude trainers, not comunicable. They expect you to teach them, not they to teach you.Not friendly at all ..Will find other school, this i don't recomend !
J Robinson: Excellent service. Took my CBT today and will use same company to go through my test. Thanks guys.
Dave Galloway: Absolutely fantastic!!! A great day and a great Instructor. It rained all day long, we got a little wet, but what a fantastic day.Harley, our Instructor, made the day so enjoyable and we learnt so much.Anyone that wants to do either a CBT or their Modules, full bike licence, or any other training, give these guys a call.Thank you for a fantastic day and making us feel at ease and so welcome. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
Pat K: Absolutely phenomenal! Renewed my CBT and did my DAS. Did 2 lessons of Mod 1, then passed with 0 minors. Just one lesson for Mod 2, and once again, flawless pass. Kyle was kind enough to help me find my first bike, and even taught me what to look for when buying a bike.Guys at KK Rider Training really go above and beyond to give you the best training they can. You don't get taught how to pass a test, you get taught how to ride safely in all weather conditions. After that, the tests become just a formality.Good luck to all new riders!
Warren Wrigley: Did my cbt with harley on Sunday he was brill went through everything would defo book with him again .
Vandasec: Great guys and great service they provide... wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Simon Robinson: Recently passed my test with K K Rider, can't fault the training or instruction given by Kyle and his team. Everything is explained well and they really work on your weaknesses effectively, no wasted lessons just for the sake of charging more etc, no messing round and they know all the best sarnie shops :-). I'll happily recommend K K to anyone who is thinking about taking bike lessons.Cheers,Simon
Rory: I had a very professional, knowledgeable and pretty cool instructor. I couldn't of asked for a better experience to renew my cbt. My last cbt didn't go into anywhere near the detail this one did which was nice compared. it helped me alot with him noticing my bad habits to help correct them. Highly recommended!
Richard Keller: Mod 1 & Mod 2 passed both first time, thanks to excellent support and tuition from Big Mick & Kyle.1st class bikes and equipment, including BMW and Billy Bandit, plus they can provide all the safety gear if you don’t have your own yet. Can’t thank them enough for the quality of the lessons. Will4Adventure Ltd: what do users think?
Lynne Shamwana: Amazing, life-changing experience! Having suffered and missed out on so many experiences due to my fear of heights my sister and I decided we needed to do something. This was the only course that combines psychology with practical experience. With Will, Adam and Brian’s support, understanding, skill and challenge I’ve already achieved more than I imagined possible. I highly recommend this for anyone who has ever felt their life inhibited by acrophobia. It’s a game changer!
Ryan Coventry: Went on the fear of heights course last month, run by Brian, Adam and Angie on the day. Went into it cautious due to a bad experience at height and unsure about what to expect, but from the first minute was made to feel comfortable and relaxed. The course was really good fun, and everyone in the group did things they never would have dreamt they'd have done beforehand. You can really tell they have been running this course for a long time and the experience and expertise of all involved was reassuring and made it just seem like a couple of days out in the peaks. Atmosphere was excellent, really friendly easy-going people, and felt so much more confident about being at heights after than I did before. To anyone considering I would highly recommend, the only course like it in the UK and it really sets the foundations for a completely different outlook on heights for anyone who struggles. Thankyou all and hopefully will get on some more courses/walks in the future.
Sheenagh Davis: Omgoodness I never dreamt I could archive such heights. A wonderful kind, supportive, calm, patient team. Would recommend 100%, definitely going back for more courses.
david gilbride: I managed to go on ‘Overcoming Fear of Heights’ due to my fear and being nervous at heights,On day 1, I woke up and was still in two minds whether to go or not, But I pushed my self to drive the 82miles to the destination, where we were in a classroom learning new techniques off how to overcome the fear, (very interesting). In the afternoon we started to put into action what we had just learned in the classroom, by learning how to (abseil).Humm, I thought but yes, I will anticipate, (as I had never done this before),It was so simple to use the equipment, But I was still very nervous when I stood on the edge off a drop. But with the professionally of the team, I managed to complete part 1 and 2 off this challenge, (and my confidence grew). Then when it came to the final challenge the big one, I lost my bottle, they never put me under any pressure just talked to me and tried to encourage me to do it, but unfortunately my mine was made up not to do it. (Very silly)I then thought should I stop the night and find a hotel or go home and quit as I failed the last challenge, (I decided to go home). On the way home I looked back on the day I had just had and then realised what I had achieved, Yes I learnt how to Abseil and stand on the edge off a drop. (Never been able to do this before). So, in the morning I drove back up for day 2, (still feeling nervous as what was a head, but not ready to quit as that is what I had paid for).Which is when I found out we was going to do some rock climbing (Interesting)The techniques we were shown, was very interesting and I was amazed what can be accomplished, (highly recommended). With all the little challenges done, I was ready for the big climb down and then back up (still nervous). But when I got to the top of the climb the feeling was amazing and (overwhelming at what I had just accomplished)I would highly recommend this course, as they get you to go out of your comforted zone but if you are not happy, they do not push you. (Well worth the experience).Thank you very much for the experience,I highly recommend this course,Well worth the money.BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND GO FOR IT.
Rob Davies: Just completed the 2 day ‘Overcoming Fear of Heights’ course in the Peak District. An amazing and invaluable experience. Will, Hayden and Brian all extremely professional, experienced, encouraging and fun, despite the challenges. Can’t believe what I achieved in just 2 days and now looking forward to conquering Striding Edge later this year.Thank you guys. Would highly recommend this to anyone.
Tony: Emergency First Aid level 6 scqf course. An excellent in depth course that covered all the areas needed for our Rugby Club.It was a very professional and enjoyable course.Thank you Will.
Alex Coon: Did Wilderness First Aid with Will in February. Great course. Loads of excellent practical sessions designed to drum in the important bits of the lessons. Few 'trick' scenarios thrown in to keep us on our toes.
Sue Herne: Great first Aud course. Always based on the practical outdoor elements and always learn useful tips. Great to get the extra day for the advanced outdoor first aid course.
Nick Blaney: Completed the Outdoor First Aid qualification with Will recently and can thoroughly recommend him. His own extensive practical experience of the outdoors and first aid shines through and adds legitimacy. The course is very hands on practical in nature, you will also need good acting skills!
Valerie Whistler: I was lucky enough to be on the ‘Overcome Your Fear of Heights’ course last weekend in the Peak District with Will, Stu and Brian, and it was a truly amazing experience! The weekend was professionally run, really good fun and most importantly effective!I have suffered with a fear of heights (and particularly massive bridges) for the last 20 years but only 3 days after the course, I am now driving confidently over the Kessock Bridge in Inverness (a big bridge!) and looking forward to many other amazing adventures without a crippling fear hanging over me and spoiling so many days out!I recommend this course to anyone who is fearful and is letting a fear of heights stand in the way of living life. You will be amazed at what you end up doing in just two days! I admit that I thought about backing out several times before showing up on the Saturday morning as I was so unsure as to what my expectations should be. I’m SO glad I didn’t back out, as this has changed my life for the better. The classroom session with Brian was sensitively run and although a bit baffling at the time, worked incredibly well. I would love to share the secret of how effective this session is, but I have no idea how it works…it just does! The outdoor sessions for the rest of the weekend were fantastic! Will and Stu were incredibly supportive, understanding and encouraging without forcing or coercing you to do anything uncomfortable. They simply encourage you towards success and then congratulate you when you achieve it!Their inspiring insights, reassuring words and manner spur you into trying things you would never have believed possible, in fact by day two I was at the front of the line for every activity! Yes me!!!Thanks to Will and the team, I have already made incredible progress and intend to continue pushing the boundaries with my newly discovered confidence. If you are thinking about doing this course, then don’t hesitate, go for it and you will never look back! Thanks to Will, Stu and Brian. I’m already looking forward to the next adventure with you guys!
Marta Alfaro Tirado: I've just completed the Outdoor First Aid course. I feel more confident now than ever (I've done at least 4 other first aid courses). Will teaches things in a way that you will remember during an emergency, and he focuses in the things you will come across in the outdoor environment. I find this course with Will very useful
Jacqui Greene: A fantastic experience. I booked this course having backed out of three consecutive height associated adventures. Not one for letting my fears stand in my way I recognised I needed some outside help to get me last what was rapidly taking over my joy.The weekend was packed with experience with genuinely lovely people who always had my back. Not once did I feel pressured or coerced into doing anything.I highly recommend this course to anyone who has found a fear of heights standing in the way of them enjoying their life to the fullness they want to.For me, let the adventures continue - with a smile on my face!
Clare Walters: I have just been on Will's Overcoming Fear of Heights weekend. What a great course ! I can't believe what I achieved after years of being afraid. There is no pressure and excellent, encouraging and supportive trainers lead you through the process of overcoming fear. I nearly cancelled the course before I got there because I was so nervous anticipating what was to come. I am so glad I didn't !! Thank you again Will, Stu and Brian and the rest of the course attendees for being so supportive and fun.
James North: Just did a scrambling weekend in Snowdonia with one of Will's team Tony, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend.
Angela Sture: Wow. Wonderful weekend on the Fear of Heights course.Knowledgeable, experienced, understanding staff, very supportive with plenty of humour, and compassion when needed.Fantastic supportive group of attendees too.One of the best weekends ever.Highly recommended.
Russell Davies: I have just completed the Fear of Heights course and would highly recommend to anybody whatever the level of discomfort at heights. Will and his team managed the course so well giving everyone positive experiences at height and allowing us all to develop to our goals during the course. I am already looking at striding edge dates for next year. Thanks Will, Stuart, Lizzie and Brian
Matthew Geiger: Absolutely great day out Mountain Biking with Will. He catered to exactly what I was looking for and I would definitely get in touch again.
Hannah Edwins: I did the Fear of Heights weekend and it was absolutely amazing. Will and team are brilliant - supportive, reassuring, knowledgable and so much fun too. Will and the team’s love the the Peaks is infectious. I’ve done things I could never have imagined doing, and the weekend has left me wanting to challenge myself further. Truly one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
John Preston: Outstanding. Will's fear of heights course is a game changer.
CS: I did the Hill Skills Navigation Bronze course with Lizzy in June. It was a great experience. Lizzy is a very competent, approachable, and patient instructor. The system Lizzy uses for the small group gives everyone plenty of opportunities for real experiential learning. I've learn so much and gain so much confidence with both map reading and use of the compass - and I had lots of fun too!Thank you Lizzy.Totally recommend.
Angela White: Considerable time and much mental energy has been expended unsuccessfully over decades trying to overcome the horrors I experience when in exposed places. This week I attended a two day ‘Fear of Heights’ course with Will4Adventure and in that short time my demons have been put to sleep.Through the expertise of Will and Adam, and with the warm camaraderie and support of the other participants on the course, we each progressed successfully through a graded roadmap of techniques and activities culminating in a rock climb.A classroom therapy session on the first morning was delivered by Spencer who uses a technique known as Integral Eye Movement Therapy, IEMT, to dissociate the emotions we attach to our previous fearful experiences. Whatever form of wizardry it is, it helps clear the slate for the practical sessions.I wish I had known about this course years ago and highly recommend it for anyone whose ambitions are thwarted because they don’t feel they have a head for heights. So many doors now feel open for me - pure magic!Thank you all at Will4Adventure :-)
