Home Instead Sheffield South - Home Care & Live-in Care: what do users think?
Liz Harris
Liz Harris: I rang to see if the firm could help care for my mother. I overheard the receptionist asking the manager if she was available to speak to me (I had left an earlier message). I heard the manager telling the receptionist to say she had already left the office. When I spoke to the manager the following day, she compounded the lie by apologising for being out of the office when I rang. Would you want a carers for your elderly relatives from a firm that so blatantly lies to you?
Wendy Haggett
Wendy Haggett: Reliable and professional care company with good ethics toward care.

James McGlade
James McGlade: I love working with Home Instead in South Sheffield. They are kind, caring and you can tell they go above and beyond for their clients and staff. Alison, Felicity and the team have a real passion for providing high quality home care and you can tell instantly by working with them. It's been a privilege to support them in their digital journey.
Tim Vautier
Tim Vautier: A great company to work for, they treat their staff really well, and this has a knock on effect, of a high quality of support being received by the service user......I'd be very happy for my parents to receive care from Home Instead, can't give much higher praise than that!
Elaine Hartley
Elaine Hartley: It always amazes me how far everyone goes in this company to make sure that their client's and their families remain safe and cared for in their own homes.I have been particularly impressed how they have dealt with the Covid19 situation and how they have kept their staff and clients safe. The CAREGivers and office staff are professional, so kind, consciencious and caring on every level and I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Frances Johnston
Frances Johnston: Home Instead is a wonderful care company. I'm consistently impressed by their commitment to providing top quality care to their clients and great support for the client's families. Home Instead is also a lovely company to work for. I have worked there for a number of years and feel supported and valued in my role.
Sarah Brunt
Sarah Brunt: I've worked for Home Instead for 8+ years.I never expected to stay, my plan was to gain experience over the course of the year and move on.... all these years later and I'm still here having worked my way up from being a CAREGiver to now being a deputy care manager.I am proud to work for Home Instead :)

Helping Hands Home Care Sheffield: what do users think?
Dorothy Sheen
Dorothy Sheen: Don’t even consider! So shady! I wanted to speak directly to Sheffield branch… not allowed! Wouldn’t entrust a stick insect in their care. The admin at head office didn’t know her stuff. Just reading a script. Yes they have to learn but not good…. All I wanted to know is if they used Local carers! People my mum could chat To about Sheffield etc….. no….don’t know … yes… don’t know… all they wanted to do an assessment. Totally discounted them. Not a good call!!
Response: Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're very sorry to learn of your experience and we would like to discuss this further with you. Abbey Preece
Abbey Preece: Having never done care before I wasn't sure wat to expect. From my first interview I knew I had made the right decision. Yes it can be hard work and long hours, but that is community care, I was always given sufficient time to travel between customers and was never back to back and running behind. When I first started the Sheffield office was running the whole of South Yorkshire so some days I would be in Doncaster and others in Sheffield, now that the new branches have opened up the Sheffield branch delivers care to Sheffield and Rotherham now. Within my time I have been promoted twice, the company believes strongly in upskilling employees. It's not the easiest job in the world, no care job is, but the benefits and rewards from Helping Hands are the best around. They pay rate is one of the highest in the area and mileage is also paid. Would highly recommend.
Kirsty Winship
Kirsty Winship: I've been working with Helping Hands for just over a year now, I became branch manager for Sheffield in October and I must say I have the best team of office staff and carers. They go both and beyond for all our customers and deliver an exceptional high standard of care.
John Needham
John Needham: All in a good experience. The level of training given is second to non. Im only upset with the fact physically i cant do more. deborah kennedy
deborah kennedy: Absolutely love my job and all my clients, it’s such a rewarding role, but miles you travel each day is ridiculous, your not kept in one area, only paid for time at a call so can be out nearly double the actual time you get paid for, communication and responses to emails is very poor.Lack of information given, but pay rate is good, colleagues are all lovely as are our clients.
Dawn Kitchen
Dawn Kitchen: Great company to work for. Can work as many hours as you choose. Good rate ofpay
Liz Whiteley
Liz Whiteley: Great service, listen to not only my care needs but the needs of our family household.
Linda Hopkins
Linda Hopkins: I had a visit from two employees of the Sheffield branch to discuss their services and if they could meet our needs in caring for my father in law. They left advising they would discuss our requirements with the manager. I heard nothing for two weeks and have rung three times since. No answer at the Sheffield branch so they took my number and said they would pass my message to the manager. My 2nd call I was told the office was been covered by a colleague from the York Branch who wouldn't be able to help so ring back another day. No answer on the 3rd attempt. Appalling service so off to Homeinstead.
Ben Gander
Ben Gander: Great company, Nothing is to big or to small.
david jenkinson
david jenkinson: Having decided that I really should do somethingHelping Hands Sheffield Office was the place to ringI'm told that Helping Hands is by far the bestSo an interview was arranged - Would I pass the test?Happily Jess said: "Will you start and when?""Then I can introduce you to my top man Ben"I would be trained by the very lovely Sue,She knows everything that I must learn to doMy new employment is now well underwayAnd Helping Hands is as good as they sayI am now a reasonably competent CarerAnd the wonderful Jess could'nt be fairer!David Jenkinson 06/12/17

Steve Bagshaw
Steve Bagshaw: Great care partners for over a year - reliable, very quick to raise issues and concerns - fully transparent. We sleep easier because of them - thank you Team Vybrant.
Sue Hogg
Sue Hogg: Vybrant took over my mum's care, mid March & I am very happy with her care. I have peace of mind, knowing that their visits are an appropriate length of time, this means I can go out more, feeling relaxed & when I visit mum can enjoy her company more. Mum seems happier in herself too. Although there have been a few " teething problems" a quick call & chat resolves these, good communication.

Bluebird Care Sheffield: what do users think?
Liam Wright
Liam Wright: Anyone thinking of going to work for bluebird. Don’t!! They won’t pay you for a weeks worth of training, which isn’t even awarded by an appropriate awarding body instead it’s just a bit of paper they printed themselves. Staff turnover is the worst I’ve ever seen. The recruitment manager left out the blue after only a couple months and the person delivering the training was new to the business. I’ve followed everything up with Acas and following their advice to ensure I persue what I’m owed and won’t give up until I’m paid. Toxic work environment and toxic management they will promise you the world and yet fail to deliver the basics. Anyone going for a job please spare your time and don’t, but if you do make sure you sign the contract the day you start training and not forward date it like they ask you to. And do not sign the training waver stating they can charge you if you leave the company. Luckily my partner works in employment law so know no deductions can make you fall below legal minimum wage others might just take the loss. And as the training isn’t from an awarding body and only benefits bluebird you are completely entitled to be paid for the induction week don’t let them tell you your not. Avoid bluebird at all costs!!
Response: Hello Liam, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re deeply disappointed that you feel that you didn’t have the best start to life at Bluebird Care. This certainly isn’t the experience we want any of our potential new starters to go through. We would love to be able to discuss this further to allow us to get to the bottom of this and take on any feedback for future team members. Please do call the office on 0114 265 6670 or email us at sheffield@bluebirdcare.co.uk and our Director, Mark Wright will be happy to speak to you.
Katie Pagett
Katie Pagett: Bluebird Care looked after my grandmother in her final years, the staff were very friendly and caring. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for care for elderly who wish to stay in their own home. Nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou xx
Response: Thank you for your positive comments, it was our pleasure providing care for your Grandmother.
John Fillingham
John Fillingham: The staff at Bluebird Care Sheffield looked after my mother for many years, she loved them going in and caring for her and I loved the fact they were professional and friendly at all times. Highly recommend (I’ve told my children if I ever need care to use this company!)
Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us, the positive comments really do make a difference to our team.

You are all such wonderful people. Thank you all Gill And Family
Response: Many thanks for the kind words Gill. It was our pleasure to provide care for your father. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us.
Collette Tunstall
Collette Tunstall: My mum was a service user for 4 weeks Found the service to be on time efficient careing Although a few things could be better from communication to care planning fot individuals also it would be helpful to have consistancy from care co_ordinators to ensure the carers know thecservice users On the hole found most of the carers proffessional and compasionate . It is always goid practice for the manager to touch base with the service user or the family to ensure good practice is at the forfront of the service users care ?
Response: Good morning Collette , thanks for taking the time to let us know about your experience. We are sorry there are a couple of things we did not get right, this isn't the service we aim to deliver. I would like to thank you for taking the time to speak to me yesterday to discuss your mums experience. The team members who you highlighted as being excellent have been contacted today. Many thanks again.

No consistency at all.Strange how additional 5 star reviews have popped up after my initial post.Anyone wanting any further information please ask as I'm not anonymous and very truthful

Home Instead North Sheffield - Home Care & Live-in Care: what do users think?
Lynette Doughty
Lynette Doughty: Having worked in Senior Management in the retail sector for most of my career, the change to work in the Care sector was a massive change. What a fantastic decision I made. I have the best job there is. I can still spend some quality time with our fantastic client. Then I can do my 'day-job' leading the learning and development aspect of the business. I was once told that I "Cared too much", well now I work in a business where I can "Care" as much as I like, and boy does that feel good.My advice to anyone wanting the most rewarding career is to "come and join us", you won't regret it.
Jan Frost
Jan Frost: I have recently been caring for our increasingly dependent 93yr old spinster aunt. Faced with our having to work and her deteriorating health we were found there was limited choices in care providers. Although we started out with the usual morning lunch, tea and evening calls this only met her physical needs. It made much more sense to use the Home instead Appoach to end her social isolation and meet ALL her care and support needs. It may seem costly but the level of care and support is such that a persons dignity and self worth increase not decrease and they are befriended, valued and provided with the highest level of care and companionship. No carer came who she had not been properly introduced to previously and they always left full notes on care provided and activities undertaken. We had initially opted for a mixed care approach with another provider doing the shorter visits through some of the day but were so impressed with the individual way services were provided by Home instead we were looking at increasing their involvement in a more imaginative way. We have four other elderly relatives whom we are sole carers for and when they begin to need any care our first call will be to Home Instead. I cannot praise their approach enough, they treat people as individuals not just tasks to be completed. If you want someone who cares as much as you do meet this company I'm sure you'll be impressed. Although this may seem a more expensive option it is great value for money and I cannot praise the approach highly enough.Overall Standard: ExcellentStaff: ExcellentCare / Support: ExcellentManagement: ExcellentTreated with Dignity: ExcellentValue for Money: Excellent
