Mandi Ramoutar: Emma at SEO Works is great, her and Jacob did a really good job on the technical SEO part of our website. As far as socials we had two account managers, Elliott took a keen interest in our account and really tried to help us deliver more sales via social media. PPC is not even worth the spend, no attention to details, constantly chasing for answer, you have to feed all the ideas, no fresh thinking. As a total package it is a very expensive service.

Response: When comparing August 2022 to August 2021 we have achieved a 537% increase in organic users to your website, with conversions also up year on year. SEO is not and never will be a "one keyword" strategy; whilst we will always have priority targets our holistic approach means no opportunity is missed. Over the course of the campaign we have achieved significant ranking increases for many relevant searches, resulting in a net ranking gain of +1183 positions on desktop and +1254 positions on mobile across all keywords year on year. With regards to your comments on the one keyword you wanted to focus on: this was an extremely competitive, high volume, short tail keyword - yet we still achieved an increase of 47 positions, moving it from page 6 to near the top of page 2. And with further work we believe it would have continued that trajectory. Sadly we will have to agree to disagree with your comments. Kind regards, The SEO Works.
Federica Maritano: Unfortunately, our experience with this agency was very bad. Very long response times, poor customer relations, very questionable quality of service. We also tried several times to understand where the problem was and to solve the situation during the project, but there was a wall on the other side and they were not at all willing to meet our expectations as customer. Personally one of my worst experiences with a supplier.

Firstly, we believe it is important to clarify that the campaign results are positive - keyword ranking, organic traffic, and search console performance metrics have all recorded increases. However, we feel that our ability to deliver our tried and tested service was limited through your interaction with our team. Although transparency is crucial, the sheer volume of communication you demanded led to our team being unable to progress through the tasks at a pace they would have expected, or in a manner they felt was most effective. A crucial part of a healthy relationship is trust, and we feel our team was not given this. We tried to work with your team on a solution but our efforts to find a middle ground were overlooked and you did not seem to be willing to allow us to work using our methodology, instead wanting us to focus on ad-hoc tasks that took up campaign time and were not most relevant to our overall goal of increasing organic traffic and rankings. Again, we are very sorry you feel that your experience was not a positive one, and we hope this response has helped to clarify our side of the story further. We wish you all the best going forward.

Janet Russell: I understood the importance of SEO for our website but struggled achieving the best result when posting blogs and content pages onto WordPress – was this a dark art? I arranged with Brett a training session outlining what I wished to achieve. He went through the process in a methodical order, explaining those areas which were important to Google and those which I shouldn’t get hung up about. Karen McCusker: I brought SEO Works on board after a review of them, alongside 3 other providers, when I was four months into a new role and with a lot to prove to my senior management. I had inherited a website that wasn't performing as well as it could have been and, especially because of the pandemic, I needed it to work much harder for the business.I was impressed by the team from the start and thrilled by the early results on our website's visibility; pages were jumping from nowhere to be seen into the top 2-3 pages of Google within the first few months of working together. Our conversion rate also increased significantly and we could easily see the enquiries were coming in as a result of organic searches. I had been prepared to spend budget on Google ads once the initial optimisation had been done but was delighted to find it was not going to be necessary. Highly recommend.
NFX SHOOTS: The team was exceptional, but the business model was not. Not recommended for small businesses, better for larger enterprises. They give you minimal hours a month for your work and as a result very little output over a year. In an entire year we went up by maybe 20% in traffic. Some months the only work that was done was a blog, thats all.They make everything sound all fancy and high end especially when you are signed on. I get SEO is a slow long term investment, however output of work does matter. For what we paid, we expected a lot more especially when we are paying thousands.Again maybe a large business can afford to pay thousands a month for a few years until they see any significant results, however not recommended for small businesses. Majority of what you pay will most likely go on overheads, salaries, sales etc and very little on your actual work which is why I don't recommend for small businesses.They will probably claim many small businesses have used them but don't let the sweet talk and sales pitches lure you in, find a freelances and get output of work.On the good side, they didn't do any spammy back linking in the year that will hurt the website and domain, the team are all helpful and do try in the little time they're given.

Sally Wilson: Soup are very enthusiastic at the start, sending gifts and compliments your way. I thought their fees were expensive for what they delivered. We had various people working on the account over the months - some would come and go, different people on Slack and 'managing' things without any real explanation or update. I found them difficult to get in touch with - my emails and requests for a phone call were ignored. Performance was below average, many mistakes were made in terms of copy and audiences. One ad asked Facebook users to "catch the bug" right in the middle of COVID-19 lockdown! Briefs were ignored, constant mistakes to highlight, it took so much time and money and the results could easily have been achieved without them. Overall, we probably lost money and I found there to be empty promises, a lack of care or attention to detail. ROAS of 1-2 really isn't going to cut it especially when their fees are thousands of pounds each month. They are quick to blame everything else instead of taking any responsibility. Avoid. It all felt very unprofessional and amateur.

James Digva: I had a chat with Amanda from Soup and it seemed as though they were the answer to my prayers. She thought that they would be able to achieve a Facebook ROAS of 3-4 for the e-commerce side of my business. I specifically said that we would need to it to be 3 to justify paying them and she said it wouldn't be a problem.Unfortunately they didn't achieve anything like the results they had promised and only really achieved similar to what I was already doing as a self taught user. This was frustrating but in itself not the main issue. They gave it a good attempt and that was the best that they could do.My issue is that when it came to ending the contract after 5 months I believe and well over £10k of retainer fee they allowed the contract to end before the notice period had expired. Which I think was the least they could do given how poor the performance of their service was vs. the promised outcome. However because it was part way through a month they refused to refund the £1250 pro rata retainer fee.Personally I just think that's bad form, quite greedy and totally lacking integrity and for that reason I would advise against working with them. Poor performance and dishonest, why would you want to work with them.They've also changed their name and website since and disabled Facebook reviews. They've banned me from their Facebook page for commenting truth on their ads, rather than face up to it and resolve their bad service. Since leaving some public reviews I've had other clients of theirs contact me to say they had or are having a similar experience. Proceed with caution.In response to your reply.. what nonsense, utter lies to defend your awful work and over promises. Bullying and harassment, please do post some proof of that. Back up your false claims. Your copy was terrible and completely off brand and you completely lacked any decent execution of your proposed strategy. We stuck with you as kept filling us with empty promises of results 'just' about to come in and we were hoping your ridiculous fees would finally pay off. They didn't, but thankfully under our own internal management we're now seeing performance far beyond that of your supposed professional agency.
