The work took a little longer than expected to finish, however the finished product is beyond amazing. There were a few teething issues with some elements of the kitchen but these were out of the control of SSK and they made sure that any issues were dealt with professionally and promptly. Alex was our fitter and it was a pleasure having him around, his work is excellent and he is a credit to the company. At the design stage they listened to what I said and included everything that I wanted, drawing the design on the spot. Their mockup pictures made it easy to imagine, and to spot anything that I wanted to change before the kitchen was ordered or built. They sent me a detailed schedule and stuck to it, and I always knew when to expect workmen; the workshop boss also came out frequently to keep an eye on progress himself. Now it's complete it feels strong, is perfectly finished, and I'm confident it will last longer than me. I'd recommend them to anyone - a delight to deal with!

My initial first thoughts were really thoroughly and positively questioned to ensure that everything I needed was included in the final design. Rob really improved significantly on my initial ideas. Dave Plumber: Excellent design service with lots of choice and ideas to get you exactly what you want for a very reasonable price. Can be supply only or fully fitted by competent installers. They have access to a marble worktop supplier who offers a professional service from choosing the right shade, style, upstand etc. to measuring on-site and fitting. You also get a £50 voucher to spend at high Street shops when you send them photos of your completed kitchen.

Katie Oliver: From start to finish kitchen been a nightmare the person who designed it apparently you hasn’t been there long so that was the excuse for everything being measured wrong parts not turned up stuff that has turned up was damaged the design was not as I asked and the pho was put down on me by the manager because I was upset and without a kitchen for 3 weeks overall disgusted in the place and wish I had spent my money elsewhere then I might of got what I wanted plus it’s not as cheap as made out

On delivery of our kitchen the SKO drivers Tom and Jon was amazing. Sarah Brisco: A number of friends and work colleagues recommended SKO. Comments included “High quality products” and “Stress free”. We contacted them and arranged for one of their designers to come and have a look. James came, measured up and took away our essential and desirable ideas. The same day we were invited to the showroom at Hillsborough to view his design. We fell in love – James had included everything on both of our lists and the price was very reasonable too.The showroom visit was a great way to visualise what each element of our kitchen would look like. There was no hard sell and we went away with designs and an itemised quote to look over.We revisited the showroom and chatted to James a few days after as we had a couple of questions. A few tweaks later we paid our deposit, booked our installation date and eagerly awaited our new dream kitchen.Everything ran as described. Sean Holmes, the fitter came and looked at the job. He discussed options for lighting etc. He gave us dates for when the old kitchen would be ripped out, electrical and gas work done as well as plastering. All of this meant we had to quickly reschedule old appliances to be taken away as the dates did not match the one’s we had been originally given. No big deal it was a couple of days out.On fitting day all of the units, appliances and worktops arrived. Sean and Connor were there ready and waiting. As each day went by we could see the virtual kitchen James had designed taking shape in real life.Then we hit the snags. All three worktops had blemishes and were rejected by Sean. Replacements were quickly organised and came a few days later. Whilst two were fitted the third wasn’t as this had an imperfection again.Finally, after a few weeks all worktops were in place, our new flooring (which we had organised ourselves) was fitted, Sean came back to do the snagging jobs and fit the plinth around our island. We thought that would be it – finished. Unfortunately not.Our kitchen fit was started mid-August 2022. It’s now March 2023 and we’re still waiting for the manufacturers of the worktops to supply one that is fit for purpose for one of our units.SKO - The units and doors are first class. SKO use high quality products and it shows.Fitting - Their recommended fitter Sean was a perfectionist and everything had to be just so for him.What has let SKO down in our ranking has been twofold.1) The quality of the externally sourced products. The worktops we had fitted (Blackheath – Spectra Collection – Square edge) have repeatedly arrived at the SKO warehouse damaged or with imperfections and had to be returned and replaced.2) Follow-ups on issued raised with SKO. Initially these were very slow/non-existent. That was until the Sales Manager Mark got involved.Mark visited our home to look at the issues first hand. He agreed things weren’t how they should be and also noticed an incorrect oven had been installed. Things then started to move and were rectified.On reflection would I use SKO or recommend to a friend? Yes, but I would tell them:a) not to have the worktops we have had; andb) don’t be afraid to chase any outstanding issues. We used DKD's team to carry out building work as well as supplying and fitting the kitchen - new patio doors, tanking, door widening, stud wall, plastering and floor fitting. All fully priced up on quote. Work started on time and the whole team were friendly and professional and the work was first class. Rachel Tattersall: Highly, highly recommended. We needed to design a kitchen for a new quite large extension and had had a previous German kitchen so wanted another one. Two things stood out about the first visit to KCD. Firstly it was completely no pressure and secondly when I took in our extension plans Richard listened what we wanted and then came back quickly with a design which actually fitted the bill and hardly changed over time. Really importantly he was happy to email us the CAD drawings to look at in our own time. He was also keen to know our budget so he could make a design fit for purpose. Other places had either been very precious about their potential designs and asked for £250 for the CADs or had not actually asked for a budget and designed wildly expensive first goes. We opted for a 'dry fit' and Andy the fitter knows the kitchens inside out and fitted with great attention to detail. There was one measurement issue on site and KCD sorted that out very quickly and kept to the original schedule. They also weren't phased by us changing the installation date 3 times and didn't for one moment suggest they would charge us for the storage of the kitchen which was delivered in September but actually fitted in December (other friends in a similar position have been charged £70 p/w 'storage in a similar situation by a different firm). After care has been great - one reason for waiting a bit before posting this review. In short a firm of people who seem to really care about what they do and have been a pleasure to deal with who supply high quality Hacker Kitchens as well as bespoke joinery - Highly recommended.

We said that we'd be happy with mid-range expecting a hard sell on why we should spend the extra, but in fact Dean immediately made the changes without question.When the kitchen was delivered we did unfortunately have a number of issues with missing and wrong bits. However, the team made every effort to get all issues resolved as quickly as possible. I won't lie, it was a pain at the time and the reason for giving 4 instead of 5 stars. But we got there in the end and now have a beautiful, high quality kitchen which we love.

They called to organise a delivery date to suit, they messaged me with a 2 hour slot the day before and even called when they were half an hour away. David Scothern: Ordered a new kitchen at the start of the year. We were told verbally that the deposit was refundable prior to work starting. Then, it turns out it's not. We were told full payment would be made completion of the work, then a few days before the work was due to start, they wanted full payment up front. They were slow to respond to emails. Many of our questions went unanswered. The attitude of their electrician and sales rep who attended our property was awful. I'm not talking about them being rude, but being hostile, like we'd offended them or something. In the end, we decided to cancel the work a few days before it was due to start as we had no faith in them to do what they said they would. We were sold a story that turned out to be false, and if they were like this before they'd got all our money I dread to think what they'd be like if there was a problem after the work was completed. Truly awful service and this feels like a disaster averted.

Stacey Rushton: I am pleased with the end result but not with the extra money I ended up paying on top. On selling us the kitchen complete project management was offered we agreed to use their builder to remove wall between kitchen and dining room and quoted a price between £200-£500 if no RSJ needed putting in and anything upto £1000 if RSJ needed.Kitchen fitting was taking place 17th of Jan and arranged in September time. Between then and 6th Jan nobody got in touch about removing the wall even though I was calling chasing it up. Builder phoned me on 6th Jan saying he coming on 10th to remove (a week before fitting) and charged me £980 even though no RSJ needed.The fitters turned up on the 17th to their surprise our existing kitchen was still in place and they had apparently been told it was going to be removed before they arrived and had to pay them £450 extra to remove it even though at sale point we was told all that was included and all we had to sort was the skip for rubbish removal.The communication between direct kitchens to us and their fitters/ builders is non existent after you are sold the kitchen. I would not use again or recommend to anyone.On the plus side the fitters did a great job and was fitted to a professional standard.

Bradley Newton: When id finally decided to get my kitchen done I went down the high end route looking a places wanting to charge £35,000 plus for a full kitchen redesign, after realising this was way more than I was prepared to pay for the plans id been given I looked at going through the likes of Howdens, stumbled upon Sheffield Solid Surfaces due to thinking I was being ripped off from the Howdens recommended worktop company, decided to give Sheffield Solid Surfaces a call and was greeted by Teegan who straight away wanted the plans for the previous quote id had & honestly within 2 minutes I could tell she knew her stuff about worktops and by chance had mentioned that they had started doing kitchens so I sent over my Howdens plans and within a few hours Chris had redesigned the kitchen doing things Howdens couldn't possibly do like floor to ceiling units & squeezing my two ovens side by side underneath a structural beam running through the kitchen honestly I was blown away. Laura Myers: Kitchen installed 2015 by kitchen gallery whch included an integrated Indesit electric oven.27/07/19 when I was sitting in the kitchen the outer safety glass of the Idecit oven splintered spontaneously, leaving shards of glass all over the floor and units.Oven not on and this was witnessed by my neighbours. Seeking help from Kitchen Gallery advised was out of 2 year warranty and pointed in direction of Indecit . Not impressed

Michelle Lees: If there was 10 stars I would have given 10,cannot recommend kitchen gallery enough what a fantastic company and amazing staff they have , we needed to worry about ...NOTHING if we changed our minds on any little thing or added anything Kim was more than helpful helping us make decisions for our choices.I have not one negative comment to make about this fabulous company , hardworking excellent workmanship,every single thing was organised and sorted efficiently would not hesitate in recommending them in a heartbeat,Thank you for our beautiful kitchen .
