Marc Rocca: I used these guys for employment advice and was seeking very specific input for a key employee agreement. From the first call I felt overwhelmed by the exhaustive detailing of their services from their business development person – to the point where I asked him to put in an email what he thought they could provide, as he had not been at all concise on the call.He seemed more intent on getting me to sign up to a monthly fee which provided me with ongoing advice at a reduced rate – not something I was looking for.When I did end up speaking to an expert the approach had been decided in terms of what was to be provided, and I ended up with a document that I ultimately couldn't make use of. I fed back my concerns to the client manager at the firm but in response was provided with the cost involved in revising the document. Had they listened in the first place I wouldn't have needed to revise it.My appraisal of Harper James is that they are interested more in what is right for them (ongoing income) than they are in understanding my organisation's needs. The 'salesy' way in which they conduct themselves is not appropriate in commercial law and makes them entirely tone-deaf in my view. I've taken the work elsewhere.

Maria Ru: Fragomen in Sheffield - the most unprofessional company I have ever worked for. It depends on which department you work for though. Finance and European departments are very educated, professional and lovely to work with. However, if you end up in the Immigration Coordinator's department be prepared... it's like working in a visa factory. Anyone who can count to ten can get this job. Wage is extremely low. Cleaners at university get paid more... Every single senior coordinator has a different criteria for marking, so one senior might be telling you you're right, another might be telling you you're wrong and mark you down. I ended up in A.H.team with a woman who has zero management experience and zero social skills. If you end up in her team too, run away. No one lasts longer than a few months. It's like a massive kindergarden. Management is extremely unprofessional and will support the ones who go to parties or gossip together. I guess it's not a bad job if you've been working in McDonalds (McDonald's is probably a lot better) for the last few years and need some admin experience. Other than that, you'll get a higher wage and more appreciation working at Aldi than here.

That said, by leaving this 5-star review, I hope others won't need to get lucky ... rather, I hope this review helps others to find Bankfield Heath Solicitors at the very top of the list (where they absolutely belong)!When my wife's visa to come to the UK was denied, I had no idea where to start the process of getting the decision overturned. I also had no idea what it meant in terms of our immediate travel plans. As such, from our home overseas, I began scrolling through the UK government's website/database of solicitors that specialize in immigration law. I sent countless emails to all the firms where I could find an email address, as well as leaving countless voicemail messages where phone numbers were available.The overwhelming response to my outreach was silence, while the small handful of firms from which I did receive a response seemed intent on providing no more than an endless run-around from administrative assistants (whose sole purpose seemed to be to put a barrier between myself and their solicitors).Then my phone rang ... and it was Ish from Bankfield Heath Solicitors. He was calling me at 7pm UK time, having tracked me down on WhatsApp after having seen my email inquiry from earlier that day. Talk about a solicitor who's willing to go above-and-beyond ... that absolutely blew my mind!When I think about what was at stake, and the outstanding service (and results) he delivered, it's probably no exaggeration to say that was the luckiest phone call I've ever received. There was no run-around and no nonsense. Ish took his time to listen to the situation that my wife & I were facing and, right there on that first call, he laid out a very clear list of options (as well as explaining the obstacles that we'd face). He offered to perform a brief review of my documents and promised to provide a plan of attack the next day, along with a fixed quote for his services should I wish to proceed with him after his initial review.Fast forward to today, and everything has been resolved in our favour. Sam and Lucy missed some checklist items and were unavailable when needed. All ended up getting resolved and pushing through, but it was a very stressful experience.Also, I reported my frustrations to the firm and Sam.
