Hotel Mercure Sheffield Kenwood Hall & Spa: what do users think?

iPhone Timer: I recently stayed here for one night. I’m going to list the pros and cons. Pros: - Lovely staff - Spa was great. I had the entire spa to myself and the jacuzzi had great water pressure and was relaxing. Spent about 40 minutes in there. Go in the morning (8am on Weekends) to get it to yourself. - Rooms were good enough. I had a good nights rest; I couldn’t really hear anyone from the other rooms so I wasn’t disturbed. - Shower Pressure was amazing. It was strong. - Showers had freezing cold water. I’m a bit of an oddball as I like showering with cold water, so when the water was extremely cold, that was a plus in my books. The water can be warm and hot too, don’t worry lol. - The location is also really good. It’s not too far away which means that I ordered food to the hotel. The delivery driver found the hotel easily. Cons: - On arrival, I had to wait around 5-6 minutes for a receptionist to be at the front desk. This happened again when I wanted to ask a question. You need to wait around a bit for someone to appear. Theres no bell or anything. - Steam room could be hotter. - Shower knob kept coming off. - Pillows could be firmer. - Rooms did look tired, but that’s not a big problem.
Purple Teapot: 1 family room for 2 people, 1 privilege room for 1 person. Privilege room was superb. Family room was okay. Hotel is generally looking a bit shabby these days. There was a problem with noise on the afternoon/evening of arrival. Very very loud music, clapping and shouting was a real hindrance to getting any rest.Breakfast was moved from the spacious dining room to the cramped Laura Ashely Cafe and spread over several rooms and located further away. Rather a nuisance to get your food and for the waiters to replace anything. The plates were stone cold making the food go cold before you could eat it.
Brendan Wragg: We had our Presentation evening here.Good location, amazing grounds.Only criticism for us was lack of bar staff. .
Denise Wilson: One night stay with friends. Room had everything we needed, but unfortunately it was not very clean. There was a gigantic cobweb on the wall, scuff marks and curling wallpaper. Helpful staff on reception. Breakfasts nice but basic.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Hannah's Adventures in Nature: I was disappointed with this Hotel. Maybe we were just unlucky with the location of our room (and the fact that there was a wedding on our second night) but my goodness the noise level was loud. Luckily I was tired and had my rain machine with me which managed to drown out the disco, but I can understand why there are other people complaining in reviews about this issue (that I stupidly hadn't read before booking because I was more focused on the location than anything else). Our room was a standard size. The bathroom absolutely stank like when you go in motorway services toilets - it wasn't pleasant. The lighting in the room was a bit odd too - no lights on the ceiling, just lamps next to the bed.Breakfast was OK, but the buffet was small. My mushrooms were cold too.For a hotel that has over 500 rooms the swimming pool is TINY. As soon as there are, I'd say 4 adults in it, it felt too busy, and as for doing any actual swimming, I managed 5 breast strokes from one side to the other. The jacuzzi is tiny too, as are the saunas. I'm not really sure why other people are raving about these in other reviews - I felt like these facilities really let the hotel down, especially as its got "spa" in its name (I mean, I have been to quite a few spa hotels and maybe I've just been spoilt by the quality of those but I expect more than what this hotel really had to offer). They were also fully booked for massages when I rang so I ended up booking with someone locally instead (and did not regret it). Also, the bar area is weird. There's a sort of sitting area in front of the bar (which is small and hardly seemed to be staffed) and then another seating area with a TV screen. It didn't feel like a welcoming area, and when there is a large group sat down, the noise levels were too high for me. I didn't feel comfortable to just sit and lounge and chat.So the main saving grace for me about this hotel, is that the location is good, there are some nice local pubs nearby and other facilities. But overall, I don't think I'll be booking here again anytime soon.
Amy Mallender: The room was covered in dust, bathroom was mouldy and had seen better days, sun bleached chair also covered in dust and broken draws! Exactly what you expect when you pay £116 / night. Clearly the room had not been used for a while and had just thrown together! There is no excuse for a room to not be clean! Oh and the bed was really old and the mattress was terrible, we left at 6.45 to go home and get some sleep. What a shame as the actual building is stunning and the area and setting were to die for!
Ifedi Ohiaeri: Lodged in one of the Privilege bedrooms. Was very nice & spacious. Most of the TV channels were glitching though.Had breakfast before checking out and I loved it.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet …More

Ieva Issa: Avoid at all costs, shocking customer service! My husband had a business stay at this so-called hotel. He was charged twice and they refuse to refund the money even after admitting their mistake. He has spoken to multiple people, they have a record of charging him wrongfully and still asking him to provide card details which you'd think they already have on their system (which they do!). This has now been officially passed on to trading standards and the bank is also dealing with returning the payment. Very unprofessional. Do not choose this place for the sake of your own sanity.

Anna Oliwa: Rooms: Not cleanFood & drinks: Overpriced not hotUnprofessional staff and manager on duty
Stevid (HolyEmpire1): It's okay, and the rooms near reception and function rooms may be good.Heaven help you if they put you at the far end of the hotel on the 2nd or 3rd floors. You step through a portal to the 1980s. Very dated and crying out for a refurb.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 3/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More
Joanne Khurram: Spa morning was lovely, really nice start to the day! Amazing facials given by Becky and Sally.. extremely relaxing, great facial, lovely, friendly and professional!Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Gill Stenning: Very comfy bed.Staff all very helpful and friendly.Rooms could have more soft furnishings - pictures etc, otherwise very comfortable
Paul Green: The room had a broken television screen, a lamp with no light bulb and a large tear in the carpet. But the room was comfortable, and spacious. The bed was very soft, sinking into it as soon as you sit/lay on it.The grounds were beautiful, and a stroll around the fishing lake is a must.No food at breakfast is labelled for anyone with allergies or any intolerance, so this could be looked into. The swimming pool is okay, with a small popular hot tub. The sauna is, well, a sauna!
Sooraj Ashraf: Really cosy and very nice location. Lakeview, lawn, dog park, spa, outdoor geodesic dome. Really liked the venue.Never stayed here, came for an event. So dont know about the rooms. The common bathrooms were mediocre.
Laura Fox: I visited the spa recently, I had a treatment by sally which was brilliant. However the spa wasn’t relaxing… there was lots of people using the facilities, including children splashing in the pool which didn’t make this a relaxing day which I’d really looked forward to. The pool area is very tired and in need of some cleaning and repairs. There is tiles missing from the pool & rusty brown marks which don’t look nice. The changing room showers had razor blades left in there and lots of hair. We were one of the first to use the facilities so it makes me wonder how long this had been there? Just needs a clean round.
Rich W: We attended a community event hosted by the hotel. Cream teas were on offer. We thought it would be rude not to. There was a slow queue. I was then given the hot drinks in takeaway cups. I asked for a slimline tonic for my toddler (see image). I noted it was rung up as 'pint of lemonade'. I queried the price as it was £5!!! I was assured that was correct. I then did that very British thing of not wanting to make a fuss at the head of quite a long queue. So i paid and took the drinks to where I had indicated we would be seated. The scones would be brought over shortly. We waited. Then we waited a bit more. After about 15 minutes i went to ask about the scones. They would be brought straight over. They were not. After about 25 minutes people sitting near me were served their cream teas with an apology for the service delay. I realised they had been about four places behind me in the queue. So i asked the member of staff who brought those teas over where my scones were. About five minutes later one plate was brought over. I pointed out that i had ordered two cream teas. The staff member stomped off. After a few more minutes she returned and wordlessly thumped another plate of scones onto the table so hard that the dusting of sugary stuff jumped in the air. I realised there were no knives or napkins, so had to return again to the bar for those. So there we go. £5 for 125ml of slimline tonic ( i am a tital mug for not saying 'no thanks'). Appalling service in general.
Joe Kemp: Need of quite a lot of work to bring it up to standard. Old rooms, poor information about the spa, cleanliness could have been better, lack of staff in reception and bar and strange smells in hallway outside our room. Possibly damp. Won't be staying again. A shame as a great location that could do so much better.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More

Mercure Sheffield St Paul's Hotel & Spa: what do users think?

Magdalena: Pleasant hotel. Room big, beds comfortable (however on both nights I woke up with a dead arm, so not perfect…), pleasant shower, nice staff, pleasant bar area inside the hotel but also nice seating are outside of hotel. Good location, next to the park and next to the winter garden that you can see though the glass wall of the hotel! Nice view from the window and properly working air conditioning. Cookies for the coffee/tea provided :) Not the cleanest hotel though, we found various hair in the bathroom and dust on the floor. A bit of lack of professionalism and privacy protection. The cleaning service knocked to the door but didn’t announce themselves and we were sure that they were knocking to the other room so initially we didn’t say anything and they just opened the door when we definitely weren’t ready to have “guests”. They came back twice and opened the door once again despite of us shouting… Just unprofessional…. We made sure we locked ourselves after that incident:) There was no “don’t disturb” sign provided until that incident happened. The SPA experience was quite average. We went on the Saturday evening and it wasn’t very busy which was nice but there were just few lockers available after you pass the showers, so you have to carry your bags and leave them unattended when you are taking the shower, it was very strange. Swimming pool was pleasant and not too busy but everything around felt a bit dirty and not really well maintained. Make sure to bring flip flops as floor is extremely slippery and wet. The SPA is nice to have if you are already there but I wouldn’t book the hotel just to use the SPA. The SPA had swimming pool, very hot sauna, steam room, aroma room (steam room), cold shower room with ice in the sink (?), “the experience shower” which was … just a normal nice shower, sun beds, chairs, tables next to the swimming pool. No safe guards (but it was only 1.2m deep), no music, no jacuzzi or any bubbles :( Nice and pleasant stay but probably too expensive (120£ a night), for what you are getting :)

thomas speak: Stopped here during my wedding overall was really good stay. Unfortunately due to confusion with booking they tried to kick us out of our room midway through the stay but this was quickly sorted and the staff were very helpful. The room was clean. Breakfast was reasonable for the price. Ideally situated for the town hall.
Andrew Hobson: Love this hotel. We had the after event party from the World Snooker Championship. Well worth a visit if you are looking for a hotel in Sheffield.Hotel highlights Luxury, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Olanzy Tone: A nice place
Nixi V: Staff were friendly & helpful. The room was spacious & the bed very comfortable. We were given the overnight stay with spa access as a gift, so overall experience was lovely but the treatments were all booked & this wasn't detailed on the voucher, as we would have prebooked, so we only used the basic facilities, which were pleasant but not overwhelming & clearer signage would've been good. The breakfast was delicious & lots of choice, although the machine coffee was disappointing. The biggest let down was the evening meal. The food had flavour but appeared to be from the freezer & the chips were undercooked.

Zoe Yeates: A really lovely hotel, great bar & spacious rooms very clean too. Buffet style breakfast very tasty and plenty of it. The staff are helpful and we will definitely be going back at some point 👍🏼Rooms: Very spacious and clean
Ana-maria Croke: It really is such a great shame that this hotel has the most dated rooms. The bed linens are worn, the protectors are too small for the beds, the bathrooms are clean but shocking for the calibre of this hotel. Room service is awful and doesn't operate after 9pm. TV in my room too small for the room and if you wanted to change channel you had to get up to do so as the control didn't have the capability to cope with the distance. The hotel is in desperate need of a refurb. I have stayed twice and I absolutely will not stay again guests deserve better and so do the staff, they are all delightful and helpful but they should have somewhere better to work..
David Helliwell: As good as always. Love this hotel. Made to feel very welcome. Food is excellent. Just wanted a sandwich in the afternoon but had finished doing sandwiches. Made us a wonderful sandwich in any case.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Linzi Haughton: We have been looking forward to this trip away since Xmas. First night away from the kids in months and we were bitterly disappointed!!I applied for an upgrade and the room we wanted wasn't available so I called the hotel a week before to see what my options were. The guy I spoke to said we had been placed in a privilege room which had a bigger bed and soft drinks. I asked the cost of this and he said we had been upgraded for free. When we arrived not only was our room not ready at 3pm but we were told there was an extra charge. I asked why and was told because of the upgrade. I explained the situation and the receptionist basically shrugged her shoulders and asked if we would like to have our original room (no upgrade). When we finally got in the room we had no welcome letter, no menu,no do not not disturb sign (as stated on the wall) .Spa - reception told us to get robes from the spa, spa told us to go to reception. Facilities for the cost were pretty poor. 2nd day again we asked for robes and this time we were told we had to pay for them!Upon returning to the hotel after the theatre we were hungry as hadn't eaten. Asked advice from the receptionist who could only recommend McDonald's.The barman also told me they wouldn't do room service (for drinks) at that time 11.30pm.I spoke to a few other guests who had also experienced various problems, no heating in the room, TV not working.....We felt very deflated when we left.

Colin Naylor: The location of the Mercure in Sheffield is superb, especially if you are visiting the Crucible theatre. The spa facilities are great and they have a sauna, a steam room and an ice room; where, if you wish, you can douse yourself with ice whilst in an ice cold shower. What bliss! My room was a bit warm as the thermostatic control on the wall didn't seem to do anything; but they took this on board when I checked out.

Whitley Hall Hotel: what do users think?

Richard Maiden: Attended an event wedding event and the buffet food was lovely. The venue itself is stunning, the staff were excellent and there was a nice outside area with bar too so you could escape the noise/heat in the main room. The ONLY reason I have marked it down is, as usual with a lot of hotels, the prices of drinks, not just alcohol but soft drinks and even a blackcurrant and soda. Excellent otherwise.

Yas Lee: Lovely modern spacious rooms with a comfortable bed. Garden areas are lovely too with beautiful peacocks roaming freely. Only negative thing I would say is that sadly not all staff are attentive and need to work on customer service, but was a great atmosphere overall that made up for it.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 3/5 | Location: 4/5 …More

Shaun Clarkson (Gr33nm44n): Stayed over for a wedding. Fantastic all round. Lovely grounds, roaming peacocks, great rooms (some rooms were quite hot, luckily I got a cool room, as the fan was out of action.) Good parking, food was tasty. Most of all the staff were outstanding and accomodating.

Glen Dove: My daughter got married here on 5th November, the staff, the management the food, the rooms and the venue were absolutely spot on. They were accommodating, polite and really helpful from start to finish, The woman I think she was called Amanda who organised the day never stopped, making sure that everything was running smoothly. Some reviews complain about the drinks prices yes they were pricey but they made sure you were served quickly and efficiently. It was really special and one day I will never forget that is what you ask for and they delivered. Would I recommend , Hell yeah. Thank you Whitley Hall for a unforgettable wedding.

Leopold Hotel Sheffield: what do users think?

Joe Barrett: The hotel is situated in an absolutely amazing building, I love the fact that they’ve managed to keep the history of the building within the hotel and included items and photos from when this was a school! the staff were very friendly and gave me and my partner a very warm welcome as we entered. the hotel was exceptionally clean. our room was on the lower ground floor and was very clean as well. the room was a decent size and the bed was very comfy. will definitely be coming back again, The only downside and I can understand that nothing can be done about this but the outside noise from the cocktail bar next door was very noisy, even through the double glazed doors. but I completely understand that there is nothing that can be done about this! Will certainly be coming back again soon, very interested in booking the suite next time, 10/10!!

Jonathan Booker: Stayed here for a night before seeing a show in Sheffield. The room was amazing, we stayed in one of the Mezzanine Suites. Definitely an experience having your room go 2 levels. The bed was big and comfy and is probably one of the largest rooms every stayed in. Breakfast in the morning was very good, bar was nice to sit in and relax. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Would consider here again in future.

Shane Hoare: Excellent hotel very centrally located. Rooms were large and well equipped....I got one at the front that is kind of split level on account of the long windows....makes for a huge room! Staff were friendly and helpful although night manager advised breakfast finished at 10.30....when we arrived at 10am a rather put out waitress nearly refused us. Beware the 10am finish time. Other than that though, a great stay in a smart and clean hotel. 👌

Chiara Intrivici: Great position. City center walking distance from train station. In front of shopping center and restaurants. My room was extremely clean . The heating system was easy to manage. People at the reception were absolutely perfect. Strongly recommend.

Amanda Robinson: Return visit as we were so impressed on our first stay, it didn’t disappoint. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. This hotel is in a fabulous central location and the building itself is wonderfully restored maintaining a lot of its history from its origin as a School then Council Education offices. The room was well equipped, very clean and quiet. Breakfast was amazing, buffet style catering for every taste. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Emma: Just back from staying at the Leopoldo Hotel whilst in Sheffield and can’t wait to return. We met the manager as we entered the hotel and he was lovely and welcoming. We arrived from Glasgow at 12 and even though check in was not until 2 they had a room available for us. All staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and luxurious. Beautiful hotel with lots of history. Ideal location. Will not stay anywhere else in Sheffield. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Roberto Tanaka: Good location, the breakfast was ok, only one of the days the orange juice was more water with juice than a proper juice. Complaint about the towel heater that was not working in the morning of my second day, at night one member of the staff came to my room, only to check if I knew to press the button to turn on the heater, that of course was not working. Next morning, complaint again and they told me that someone from manutention would go to my room to fix the problem. Til the end of my stay the heater was still broken.Nearby activities: Lots of stores, restaurants, shoppings, cafes around.Walkability: Stay in this hotel because of the proximity with crucible venue.Food & drinks: Lots of options of bar and restaurants in the area.
Allen Cunningham: Great service. Lovely room. However, it was very, very noisy from bars under our window.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Rachel Abbott: The most problematic part for us was booking. We rang so many times and the booking had not been made or was wrong. Eventually it was sorted. They simply would not allow an early check in for us either so we had to stay and extra night with the booking being for a wedding. The woman I spoke to said she had never heard of this being doneanf they did not offer it even though the website mentions it. The room was nice, comfy and clean and soacious and a travel cot provided for my little girl. There was a lot of loud music coming from the street below until around 1am. This was the case even though I asked for a quiet room. The breakfast was nice but not included in the price of the room, which for the cost of the hotel seems pretty unreasonable. Also be aware that parking is extra and quite a distance away but it is really easy to find and a safe feeling location.Nearby activities: Lots do do a great central location.
Joe Quinn: Used this hotel when I was recently visiting The Crucible for the snookerRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
TheIronmaster1: This was the second stay at The Leopold for a group of friends and myself. We were in Sheffield for a music event and the hotel suited our needs admirably. Conveniently situated for the music venue and other facilities with Leopold Square, adjacent to the hotel, offering a number of restaurants. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. We would certainly return should our travels take us back to Sheffield.

DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield Park: what do users think?

David: Excellent stay at this well positioned hotel within easy reach of the Peak District. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble in their aim to ensure you have a great time. Breakfast had a really good selection and evening dinner was equally of a high standard with service from the staff second to none! A big thanks to Rebecca and Will on reception who really go the extra mile with such amazing customer focus not normally experienced these days. We will definitely be back soon to enjoy this hotel once again with the help of its first class staff!

Julien Bernard Jean-Denis: Great location for a nice weekend in the Peak District. Everything was alright with the room except that the door of the fridge cabinet was found broken. The access to the swimming pool is no longer free for the adult guests: GBP 5.00 per adult per hour (you now need to book in advance) - kids go free. The quality of the food at the restaurant is fabulous, but the overall experience was a little bit diminished because of the presence of numerous flies in the dining room - not sure if this is a seasonal phenomenon or whether this is due to high temperatures of this summer).

Rob Forbes: We stay in one of the newer room which was nice and clean. The hotel is spacious with lots of parking. Located outside of Sheffield, so was quiet. Barbara Smith: I was very fortunate to win an afternoon tea in the Marco Pierre White restaurant at the Double Tree by Hilton in Sheffield for King Charles 3 Coronation. We arrived for our allotted time and was met by the lovely Rebecca. She showed us to our table and took our drink order. We were served our afternoon tea which was very nice with a selection of sandwiches, scones, jam and cream. A selection of lovely cakes(which we had to take home) and macaroons, all washed down with a glass of Prosecco. Also on the table were Coronation decorations and a beautiful keepsake cloth napkin embroidered with the Coronation logo. A wonderful keepsake for such a special occasion. The whole event was wonderful and my Hubby and I enjoyed it immensely.Thankyou so much and special thanks to Rebecca for looking after us so well. She was very friendly.A lovely place .

claire shaw: Myself and my daughter (7) came for a little treat and we had a lovely stay, firstly the staff were so lovely and made us feel really welcome, the room was extremely clean and comfortable I wanted to take the bed home. The food was delicious and really good portions. I was pleased they did kids meals. The pool was lovely and warm , the time we went at 5pm was really busy but still very enjoyable, only downside was the shower rooms/changing room was too small. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be coming back.Rooms: Really spacious

illremember thistime: My in-laws stayed here for a quick visit and had a bad experience. They got in late due to cancelled trains and despite letting the hotel know in advance had to wait a good 10 minutes before anybody showed up.They booked a room with a queen bed and were given a double in a room with non functioning heating, which they failed to fix.At least they were moved to a new room, which was fine.To top it all off they were charged an extra £200 with no explanation (only realized after they got the credit card bill)Edit:Looks like they refunded the money
Ian Rockett: Had afternoon tea at Marco Pierre White restaurant was very very lovely. Would recommend. Very clean and staff lovely.
Gloanne Lapuz-Flores: We booked 2 rooms unfortunately we are super far away from each other... Our closet handle never got fixed we stayed for 3 days... On the upside the room is cozy, clean toilet is lovely onboth rooms.. Overall reasonable price, the staff are accommodating and friendly... Parking is free!Love to come back again and highly recommended!

Laurie G.: Shameful service and treatment.Held a king for my husband and I upon arrival they said they gave us an "upgrade" to - 2 twin beds - it's our anniversary trip to England, plus we are Diamond members! Terrible thing Management controls the room temperature from the front desk!!! They say they don't but they were asking us "what temperature do you want" and it would change on wall gage . Well as you know it varies - we wanted control. We were SO uncomfortable and miserable ALL night, just exhausted from not being in control, too hot, too cold, NO fan we like the sound. Terrible policy to save money and lie about it. Shame on them.Breakfast was standard for a Double Tree, nice, breakfast staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and shower was nice but I'm so disappointed.

Hotel Novotel Sheffield Centre: what do users think?
Daniel Ragan: It's more like a 2.5-star passable hotel rather than the "luxurious 4-star hotel" that they describe on their website...The lobby and bar are fairly nice and chique, but as soon as you get onto the dated and cramped lifts, any sort of semblance to "luxury" promptly ends. The room was spacious, but dingy with carpet ripped and pulling up in multiple areas. The room was constantly warm and the aircon was nonworking or nonexistent with a thermostat from my grandmother's house. The shower floor had a big crack in it that water was either leaking through or around the shower and creating a small pool on the carpet (don't want to even think about how much mold could be in there). Worst of all, the toilet would only flush about 50% of its contents - if you were lucky. Toilet paper would just float at the top despite any number of flushes we attempted. Just gross and disappointing. The staff were...distant, cold, and not helpful. It seemed as though they all either just finished training or didn't get trained at all. Upon check in, the person at the desk had to get help from two other people. Eventually, the three of them figured out how to give us a room number and card. I requested a laundry bag and, after going through (again) multiple people, I finally got one.The customer service was nonexistent. We had a bit of a mixup with our booking, and the receptionist seemed like they could not care less. Not even a "sorry to hear about that." Not a single smile or "welcome" - with the exception of a very warm and cheerful housekeeper.Overall, we were quite disappointed that we didn't receive anything close to the "luxurious" hotel we were advertised.Rooms: Dingy, no air con, shower leaks in the carpeted floor
Dolo Rodríguez López: The hotel was good. The swimming pool and the leisure area are fantastic. The swimming pool was full of children so avoid if you try to relax. The temperature of the swimming pool area was really warm, the area was also clean. The hotel is clean, centric and with an easy access by car and train. I would recommend it.

North London: There was overnight parking at the hotel for £15. The reception looks nice and Morden. Rooms were a basic with chip wallpaper everywhere. Breakfast was good but the cups weren't washed well enough. No Aircon and my room was too hot. There was a small pool for use but any more than 4 people would be too much. Small dark windows.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Liv Godley: My close friend and I spent almost 200 pounds on booking this hotel. We read through the policies and procedures when booking and were under the impression it would be a pleasant stay. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were informed that we needed ID. Unfortunately, only one of us had ID with us. We had no intention of drinking and simply checked into the room for somewhere to stay until the trains next day. We are both 20 years of age and have stayed at multiple hotels without facing any issues or rude management. We were denied access to stay and instead ended up having no choice but to roam the streets late at night. As two young females, I am absolutely disgusted about this and how poorly we were treated. Thank God nothing happened to us.
Aria Christian: Good view and food
Mr JG: Ms George on front desk demonstrated fine customer relations in being utterly polite, smiling, helping and cool under pressure i.e. even when queues form, she advises guests that she will be with them as soon as she finishes with the guest at hand etc. A very nice lady. Can Marie Green (General Manager) please convey my thanks.Leisure facilities were awful. Steam room didn’t work even after waiting the 15 mins after pressing the button. No shower gel in the men’s changing (hotel said they don’t supply it – the toilet hand wash wasn’t replenished until we requested).Toaster wasn’t working during breakfast (catering staff were brilliant nonetheless).Regards, Jag GognaNearby activities: Crucible for the snooker
Casa77 Setenta y siete: Great location, but pricy though. Price has gone up for next year, not booked again.
Patricia Hobson: Had afternoon tea here for my birthday is was so fresh and tasty . Served by delightful staff.Walkability: Easy to get about and very handy for snooker and theatres .Food & drinks: Gorgeous afternoon tea .

Tony Charrington: I always choose Novotel as a first choice hotel, however, this one is definitely one people should avoid.I booked an executive room but I did not expect to see how broken and outdated everything is - bedside tables broken, bath plug broken, sink has an odour and plug sockets not working.Staff are also untrained and unprofessional, providing me with the wrong parking information and costing me more. They refused to help me and blamed Qpark, even though Novotel staff gave me the wrong information. There are much better hotels in Sheffield that have the cleanliness, professionalism and convenience. Sad to say that this Novotel is one you should avoid.
Apeksha Jain: Rooms are not very great but the hotel ambience is good. The service is brilliant. Loved the swimming and steam room time here.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ernesto Salas: Good location, nice bar and very useful gym

Shauna Leigh: We spent 2 nights on the Lila May and it couldn't have been better. The accommodation was cozy, clean and close to some amazing local gems. The atmosphere was so peaceful and it was located only 10mins from city center. The boat had everything you could need. Only thing I would have asked for is a couple bigger towels. All in all a lovely stay :) x
Bex Ann: I cannot fault a single thing about our stay! The boat was absolutely stunning (bigger than I expected) the location was impeccable - fab bar near by and a 10 min walk to town, parking right next to the boat too. The whole experience was extremely pleasant, im so chuffed, everything was just perfect for my partners birthday. 5s all round!
Martin Taylor: Really peaceful, comfortable and warm accommodation near to local amenities
andy hart: Very peaceful place to sit and relax.. and various wildlife to Spot.enjoy
Charlene W: My partner booked this as a gift for my 30th it was amazing! We had our 3 year old daughter with us and she loved it. Everything is finished to a high standard, very clean, highly recommend. Towels, toilet, roll, washing up liquid, handwash, shower gel, and complementary coffees/teas were covered. Maybe could do with taking a bottle of water as there is no drinking water, although there was a few small waters in the fridge so we weren’t without. Will be going back again. A once in a lifetime experience, a lovely short break. Thank you!
Sexy Sid: i woke up and got a concussion due to the 2 foot high ceiling
Mark Clemjak: PerfectFound this little gem by chance and would recommend to everyone. To have your own unique apartment close to the city centre is just perfect. We have stayed in mny rooms in many places and in time they all blend in this one however I am sure will always stand out from the crowd
Eddie dst: Absolutely fantastic, perfect way to spend a birthday, carnt wait to go back.
Carolyn Burton: Booked this as a birthday treat for my partner who loves barges, but has never spent a night on one! Perfect size for 2, very comfy, had everything you could need on board and a lovely little pub is within stumbling distance of the barge! Very quiet location and had a good nights sleep too. Would definitely stay here again.
Sue Tindall: Absolutely amazing, well needed rest and regroup time, quiet area, nice people very clean and immaculatley done out inside.
1Bustedfoot: Fabulous spot for exploring Sheffield. Good accommodation although check bed size against height as double a little cramped. Very cosy would return if option arises..

Liarna Rowe: Good location and nice overlooking the Quays. Short walk to town. Good for the football ground. I enjoyed using the pool and steam room. The facilities are nice. Had the worst wine ever but the bloke was training and I'd take it to my room before I realised. The bed was naff is 237 I went with my partner for a weekend away with the most creakiest bed, which was a major put off as I didn't want to upset the neighbours. The bathroom was very basic and altho the facilities were nice I wouldn't stay as I don't want to sleep on a bed with rubbish pillows as I could have stayed at home. And I did pay £130 a night (Inc breakfast) so wasn't cheap. Breakfast was lovely no issues.Nearby activities: Plenty of restaurants within walkable distance some beside the quay five min walk.

James Morphet: You get what you pay for. Very clean and tidy though. Staff nice too. Everything you need for a cheap sleep. Low price attracts groups of drunk lads who are full of life when you want a rest. Can be a bit noisy in the corridors at night. We were all young once though….

Ulka Chandini Pendit: The hotel has good location and service. It is close to KFC, Subway, and other supermarkets. However, there is no kettle, coffee or tea in the room as they provide it in the reception with the coffee&tea machine with £2. Plus they have really good front desk. Phil was very helpful, kind and friendly. I came at 12 pm night to ask for the Briyani rice that my friend put in the reception and he also offered and explained me about the hotel which is very kind of him. Not only him, Symone is also very kind and always smile. She is lent me iron with iron board and always answered my question with smile and warm vibe. I am very satisfied with Phil and Symone's service.Safety: Couple times I accidentally realized I didn't close my door properly but hamdulillah nothing happened and the hotel is very safe.Walkability: Very close to city center.

andrew sass: Smallest hotel room ever
Kristaps Bumburs: Definitely the cheapest hotel around but not acceptable standard for anyone. Walls and ceilings were stained with paint or nail varnish, floors were extremely dirty, bedsheets were covered in some hair and sand, the extra towels given in reception didn’t smell fresh at all. Generally felt very unpleasant and wanted to leave.
Matthew Sillitoe: We arrived at 1:30pm and was told the room was ready but we would have to pay £10 early check in or wait till 3pm which we found ridiculous. If the rooms ready why charge £10 extra, if it was in the morning I could understand an early check in fee but not 90 mins before when the room is ready. The rooms are basic but are good value if you only want a few nights. I wouldn’t stay in a room this small without a window for longer than 2-3 nights. The guest experience on arrival could have been better. Excellent location in the city centre.
Sherree Gilbert: Cheap and cleanRooms: CleanNearby activities: Close to everythingSafety: Has night time security
Elizabeth nunez del prado: Modern, Great service, I did not like the pillows, too hard
