Chamin K: Sally and her team were so great with managing our recent purchase and sale. Ellen Martin in particular was so great with keeping myself and my partner informed. There were a few occasions when the sellers solicitors were not responding back to queries but Sally and her team kept chasing and made sure our sale was completed in a timely manner. Tom Levick: Although we understand we sold and bought our properties during the pandemic, the solicitors at Taylor Emmet were very slack from our perspective. It took on average sometimes almost two days for an answer to very simple questions, trying to get in touch was very difficult and we have only received our documents for the purchase a couple of days ago. That happened over a year and a half ago. It is mind boggling that it took this long, but also at the same time not really: these people need pushing and distracting from their routine of seemingly rather preferring to drink cups of tea rather than doing their job.

Subsequent solicitor was curt, impatient and seemed reluctant to handle the case. Kindness, understanding and empathy in difficult divorce circumstances for my daughter would have been appreciated. I can only presume that restrictions imposed by Covid had some impact on the level of service - but very disappointed and now moved to a new firm where we have been treated completely differently. Very sad that my daughter did not receive the understanding and representation she needed.

Elaine King: We used Lupton Fawcett for the sale of our flat and found them really professional and effecient. Sean Sullivan: Sarah Coyne and the team at Irwin Mitchell recently acted for us on the sale of our former home and purchase of our new one. Working to tight deadlines the two transactions successfully completed on the same day which was very pleasing (though a little unexpected). Throughout the process, Sarah and the team were responsive, kept us up to date with progress and managed our expectations. Pricing was clear and transparent. As completion happened late in the day, excess funds could not be returned on the day of completion - however, they were in our account the next working day. All in all, great service.

Deborah Rutter: I was referred to IM to negotiate damages for an injury for which the company concerned had accepted liability. Rebecca Braithwait (Sheffield office) handled my case. It was so helpful to work with the same individual throughout, especially someone so highly reliable and professional, who never failed to return my calls. I knew nothing of the process or likely awards in such cases, and was grateful that she took the time to explain what was happening and why. My claim was partly motivated by anger that compensation in personal injury cases - not only mine - was so low, slow and difficult to access. marrie bunting: Following from the below review ( Nick O’Brien) I have been in the process of trying to sell my house. I used wake smith as my solicitors when I initially bought my house. I was recommended to use these solicitors again by my estate agents as it was the best option to take. It’s been over 7 weeks since they had my case to progress, but nothing has been done to progress my sale forward due to them not registering my deeds properly onto the land registry from when I initially bought my house. Due to a missing plan from my plot they aren’t able to complete the deed to send to land registry. This should of all been done when I bought my house in the first instance. Not to mention when I bought my house they messed up with the plot number and postcode which resulted in a further wait time. My house sale should of been progressing nicely along by now but I haven’t been able to do anything because of the error they have made. I am not able to progress my sale until my title is on the land registry which could take a further 6 weeks! In turn this could result in my buyers pulling out as it’s taking too long. I’m so disappointed by the service I have received especially because I didn’t know the extent of this until a few weeks ago. When I spoke to them they said it could be 6 months before completion. Last week I had to take the initiative to move solicitors. I would of thought that due to their error they would of made my case a priority. I’ve had to chase multiple times to get an answer on the status. Very disappointed ☹️ Joanne C & Anne E dealt with the case.

Sam and Lucy missed some checklist items and were unavailable when needed. Clear and timely communication is crucial in legal matters, and their lack of responsiveness made the entire experience even more frustrating.Overall, I cannot express enough how deeply disappointed I am with the level of service provided by this solicitor firm. This was in relation to the purchase of a property.As with all solicitors, there is always an element of frustration borne by the client, because we all want things to happen, like yesterday. What people sometimes forget is that the solicitor acting on our behalf has to deal with other solicitors, agents etc who, occasionally, forget the implications of any delays caused by their inactions, or incompetence.On this occasion, Best Solicitors, especially Stephanie was dealing with a third party who, in turn were dealing with a fourth party 😤. Not an ideal scenario, but it all worked out fine.Personally, I have no issues with recommending Best Solicitors Limited, especially when it's a matter of conveyancing.
Junara Begum: It's a scam! Avoid! Had a solicitor who I paid around £400 in December 2022 to serve a notice to my tenants. After that he completely disappeared. Then after multiple email and calls finally got through around Feb 2023 and said he would serve the notice but then completly dissapeared again and it's now May 2023! If anyone knows how I can get my money back please let me know. Absolutely disgusting behaviour!

T T: Honestly not great. We went with Taylor and Emmet as they were recommended by our estate agent and when our buyer also went with the same solicitors we thought this would be smoothly handled. Turns out this was not the case. Our buyers had informed their side that they needed to move by a certain date as their rental agreement was not being renewed. This was not passed onto us at all, so when we finally found out from the buyers themselves (3 months down the line) it was a lot of stress to both sides, for us to find a rental to move into and for the buyers who had to be out by a certain date with potentially nowhere to move to either. If T&M had maybe picked up the phone and informed their colleagues in the other office maybe this would have been less stress for both parties involved.

Alice Raven: This is from the perspective of a seller. Our buyer used Wosskow Brown for the purchase of our property. With what should have been a straightforward sale (an all cash buyer with no chain on either side) we had issues throughout the process. Wosskow Brown were extremely uncommunicative and uncooperative. When chased by our solicitors, estate agents and the buyer themselves- they received generic responses which gave little indication to their progress. As sellers, we were very much left in the dark. This lasted for 7 months before the buyer decided to pull out, which we were again given little to no feedback from Wosskow Brown. I strongly recommend NOT to use these solicitors for purchasing a property, especially if you want a quick sale.

evie wilman: If I could give 0 stars I would. If you are buying or selling a property, avoid at all costs. Never will we ever go near them again and will advise anyone to stay far far away- they are cheap, clearly for a reason. Incompetent, unprofessional, slow and one massive headache from start to finish. False promises from start to finish and dire communication, so bad you think that they were getting back to you via pigeon carrier. Constantly made to feel that them actually doing their job (for once) was doing us a favour! Areas where the solicitors lacked crucial knowledge, they described to be a 'grey area' and to seek specialist advise- when the question, which had been asked multiple times in the months prior to our agreed moving date, was answered, it was the week before we were set for completion. A really exciting time for us as first time buyers made a hell of a lot more stressful than it needs to be and made it so we couldn't sought this advise that may have saved us thousands.Compliments to Anees who took over our case once we raised a formal complaint and dealt with it swiftly and professionally. However, once again I will reiterate that this firm is nothing but hard work and trouble please for your own sanity, stay away.I will confirm we received a refund of our legal fees only after an 8 week complaints review procedure, otherwise the complaints manager will be scrutinising our review.

Tom Bird: Horrendous.My buyer used them and while they usually follow up complaints like this with some rot about how they only act in the best interests of their client, unless my buyer specifically instructed them to be as useless as possible, then they're lying.To start with, they sat on the whole thing for a month until we wondered what progress there might be. This spurred them to to the "searches". I have no idea what they were searching for, but it took months. For reference, I managed to buy the place in 4 weeks so it's not some weird corner case.They were then unwilling to raise the queries in parallel with the searches, this could have saved a lot of time, but saving time is an anathema to this lot.Finally they did raise queries, and after a LOT of pushing to get the contracts exchanged, finally came back with one question on the afternoon we were meant to be exchanging... a question about the extension.The house did not and never had an extension.The whole thing was only dragged kicking and screaming over the line by the persistence of our estate agent who had to call them constantly otherwise nothing would happen.Avoid, avoid, avoid.

"...always work in the best interest of our client" oh please... if you're buying/selling a house, avoid at all costs. Several other reviews demonstrate ours is not an isolated case. Useless. Bad. Avoid. Please.

I started with brogan then passed to Lindsay then told by stjohn that my small piece of land wasn’t as important as a full house sale, even though they are charging the same price. This transaction started in February and they never keep me informed. My neighbour is loosing money as he wants to sell his house and I would like to put up a fence. Never again with this lot and they will certainly not be recommended.

TINGTING LI: Be aware that you will be doing the majority of the work by yourself if you choose their firm. Second, when your lawyer has taken on your case, be ready that you could not hear from him for at least 20 days because he is preoccupied with other cases. In the meantime, every time you send an email asking when he can get back to you, you will be charged £25. This fee is due whether or whether you agree with the care letter's terms. When deciding whether to use their service, consider yourself two questions. First, do you have the time and energy to gather the facts and arguments yourself? (because they require you to complete it on your own) and two, are you prepared to pay an exorbitant and unjustified fee? Congratulations, and if so, go for it.

I never once had to wait for a reply to an email and they kept me informed throughout, it was a very frustrating process (thanks to terrible conveyancers acting for my buyer) but it was made all the more bearable by Francis and Nick. Helen Carr: My experience using Wilford Smith’s conveyancing service for a house sale echoes some of the other Google reviews here – simply awful service.Their communication was shocking - even when I sent begging emails and left voicemails asking for them to urgently contact me. Ultimately, I felt like I was doing most of the work on this case.I sent a complaint (giving them the opportunity to put things right) but everything I raised was dismissed leaving a very bad taste in my mouth. When I mentioned that I found the process stressful, I was told that this ‘is the nature of buying and selling property’. Well, my house purchase was handled by another firm and that experience was entirely different.It’s too late for me but I wanted to try and prevent potential future clients from going through the same experience as me. Even the way they dealt with my complaint just underlined everything I feel about this company.
