Wayne Rees: We had our wedding breakfast here on Friday afternoon for 20 guests and despite being jam packed, the staff were so attentive. The food was gorgeous and the cocktails...wow ☺️. I couldnt have a bad word said against either the staff or the venue. We were also treated with a bottle of prosecco for me and my beautiful wife in a lovely presented ice bucket on the house which was really appreciated. Really nice place, excellent location, super friendly and attentive staff and food and drinks to die for, would definitely recommend 5*****, wish there was an option for 10.

Kam: When for a day vist, to see my daughter, end up at slug & lettuce bar, in the afternoon Great drinks offers and good lively atmosphere. Bar services quick and friendly. Ordered food, which came quick and was well worth the money . Well done Sheffield Slug m& Lettuce. High recommend this bar. Better than Notts bar.

rachel woolhouse: We had a hen party today and our brunch was the start of the day. I can not praise Maddie Whitehouse enough. I have attended many brunches, but her service and customer care was absolute spot on. We are booking again and would like to recommend Maddie again for our table xx

Pumpkin Huntsman: First off, worth saying that when we arrived there was only about 5 tables worth of people. We arrived and got told to sit anywhere without a reservation sign. 10 minutes after sitting on a table a reserved sign got added for an hours time. Ordered drinks and the first ones were okay. The food took far too long even though it was basically empty. And then it took 15 minutes for 2 beers to get poured while half the staff stood and chatted by the till. Ah well. Sure the mimosas would have been better

Charlotte Winter: Booked this venue for my daughter 21st birthday celebrations with family. The menu has a good range of food options to suit all and very reasonably priced. The cocktails are stunning and we had per ordered to cocktail tree (party like it’s your birthday) which was lovely and looked very effective. In hindsight I would have asked for it after we had eaten as it’s with very sweet. The staff there are all young and a real Credit to the Business. All was attentive, helpful, friendly and made sure we had a lovely time. We got complimentary Prosecco served in ice buckets, Champagne flutes and sparklers. Very nice touch ! Antony Right: Just rubbish, availability do not match the app, service is slow and generally very poor. The floor is sticky and toilet is smelly. Disappointing experience and no go ever to S&L again.

Natalie dean: Myself and my friends came to Sheffield for a mini hen. We booked the prosecco brunch at lunch time on a Saturday. The place had great atmosphere, the food was well presented and tasted great. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond with the drinks. We had cocktails, they were fast to bring them out and certainly got our monies worth. I would definitely recommend. Thank you revolution for making it a special day for the hen.

Isobel Edwards: I’ve been multiple times and most of the time it’s been okay. However we went last night and it was really quite dreadful, which is such a shame since it was my sisters 18th. First of all they were out of all the pizzas which was a shame. We all ordered drinks and food, for the most part all of the drinks were fine! If there is one positive thing to say about revolution there are good happy hour deals and the drinks are strong. Some of our food arrived before our drinks which was a shame but not a massive deal. Food took a little while but they eventually brought some out, alongside an extra burger that we hadn’t ordered. So two people got their food, then 10 minutes later two more of us got our food and then the other three were left waiting for 40 minutes before we went and asked where it was. They said that there was a massive back log of orders and that it could be 5 minutes or it could be an hour, even though it was really empty in there, but then immediately brought out 2 more dishes that had clearly just been sat on the side because they were cold. Then 20 minutes later we went to ask about the final meal and the staff were again quite rude about it. The final dish was then, again, immediately brought out. There was no apologises at all from the staff, when we have come before when it was a lot busier and they didn’t get us our drink order in half an hour they gave us a free round of shots but this time we didn’t even get a sorry. I can understand if they were stressed out and I completely sympathies with it but I think it is still basic decency to apologise for it. Most of the members of our group also did not like their food at all. I had an avocado and halloumi wrap and I really enjoyed it. However two of us had a chicken wrap and both said it was really dry, hard and sandy. One of which didn’t get eaten due to how bad it was. The table was also ridiculously sticky and the bathrooms weren’t clean, which is not something I have experienced before at Revolution and I’m hoping it’s just a one off. I definitely don’t think we will be coming here again to eat.
Hannah L Martin: I have been to revs across the country but i have to say Sheffield blows the other ones out of the water. Dolly on sales dealt with my booking for Saturday and made sure we knew exactly what we were getting and we were happy. After the bottomless brunch (which we loved!!) our superb waitress Lois pointed us to bar service. Even though it was a Saturday and was busy by 5pm, we were still served as quick as possible by Evan at the bar who was engaging and fast! Yes, if you come here on a Saturday expect it to be busy but this only adds to the atmosphere as everyone is having a good time with great music on. Overall 10 out of 10 experience and will be back again.
Danielle Hutton: Booked a cocktail master class for 16 of us on Saturday 29th April.. we was really looking forward to the experience however I wouldn’t recommend! The bar tender was very dry, boring and wasn’t entertaining. We in total made 2 cocktails, if we tried to play around and put more alcohol in the cocktail the drinks were aggressively thrown away. £25 for 2 cocktails is a little steep! I have heard good experiences how ever ours wasn’t that! We had to go up in pairs which as you can imagine with 16 of us left not much time to make the cocktails. Luckily the music down stairs and the atmosphere down there made our night more playful and enjoyable. We paid a lot of money for an experience that I wouldn’t go to again. The staff whilst booking were so approachable and helpful it’s a shame this was let down on the day.
Mae Elsmore-Renshaw: We booked for bottomless brunch Saturday just gone and wish we hadn’t have bothered.We were ignored for other tables, had to order drinks multiple times to actually get them serviced, then the food order was completely wrong. We were then removed from our table (that’s fine, we didn’t mind moving to the bar) to find the drinks we were ordering were being served to someone else!Isabella was the saving grace of the whole day but for what you pay for a bottomless brunch the service really let everyone down. Won’t be returning or recommending for future brunches with friends.
Spooky Lad: Just wanted to write a quick review saying how well our party went - we booked out the Hidden Bar for a party of roughly 50. I can divulge, after dealing with a few different event managers etc. from various other establishments, Megs' service was by far the best.She helped to create many happy memories for many people, especially for my partner who's 30th it was! I'd also like to say how good the food was in terms of quality and timing, as well as the members of staff who ran the show and worked the bar, who were absolutely excellent - the DJ was amazing also.Overall, it couldn't have worked out any better and I'd definitely recommend Revs Sheffield to anyone I speak to in the future!

No wonder the company is in trouble and they are starting to close.We arrived and I ordered a drink at the bar. 1 person serving on a Saturday at 1pm so a bit of a wait.We had a table booked and we were shown to a table with ripped seats next to a dance floor. Suddenly the music went to an impressive volume until it was distorted (see video clip for example) and a group of ladies were dancing away with a blow up man....at 1pm...on Saturday whilst we were getting ready to eat.So we left.At a rough guess of 6 people eating plus drinks that would be around £200 we would have spent.Awful place. Sticky floor, sticky table, ripped seats, cold, noisy, app not working, pointless venue. Doesn't know what it wants to be.Won't be returning... Unless part of a hen do..

Geoffrey Caron-Lormier: Lovely food, decent portions, and they had a kids menu. Went there for a lunch, four of us, found an empty table fairly quickly. Orders go through the App or website which is a bit clunky to navigate. Would have preferred ordering at the bar or at our table. The food was lovely. Had the fish and fries, the fish batter was light and crunchy, the fish was beautiful.

Emily H: Not a place I would ever think to go to in Sheffield, but friends of ours chose it for brunch and it was actually decent. I had the pastrami french toast which was tasty. My partner had the full breakfast which he said was nothing special but ok. A good size space. Would definitely consider coming back to try other items on the menu.

Becky Baker: Lovely experience. We went on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet inside. The drinks were served quick and tasted great. Really liked that you could change the drinks by picking your own flavouring on some drinks like the daiquiris. A little pricey but would return if it was a special occasion or if we had an offer.

susana teixeira: I really liked this place. I had dinner here with friends and everyone had a great time. Food was very well presented and tasty. Kids menu has also good options. The decoration is also unique and the lights setting in the evening is very pleasant. Great location and reasonable priced.

Food is brilliant for the prices, hidden away, in Sheffield, this restaurant is perfect for couples celebrating, first date or for a group outing. That treat for a love one in the family. The setting is clean and quiue. Good services from all the staff. The current Christmas setting is stunning and makes for start to Christmas cheers.⁸
Tony Behan: Delicious food in a well presented former boys school building. Two flights of stairs (lift available) were very dimly lit. In contrast the restaurant tables are lit with spotlights - straight in your eyes, causing ridiculous long shadows at the table. Desserts (also delicious and well presented) were ordered with coffee to follow. The coffee, brought before the dessert, had long been drunk when desserts finally arrived. No apology or offer of refill when mentioned to the server.

Editor Maisie: Great tasty food, a bit pricey but great service and really really yummy. Atmosphere is great as everywhere is has decoration and make you feel comfortable. I recommend the broccoli, halloumi skewer and the fried onion starter, also the mock-tails are delicious.

Filip Brzoza: As a participant of a recent Christmas Ball held on these premises I must say that the place is stunning. There are many reasons for it, including beautiful decorations, helpful and friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices for alcoholic drinks. Will definitely come back at one point for a smaller dinner!

Alexandra KOHN: I would describe "The Botanist" as a hidden gem, literally. You first need to go up like 3 flights of stairs before entering the cute little restaurant that will only then reveal its magic. Right upon entry, warm and cozy lights welcome you just to lead you into a high ceiling room with lots of plants and trees. In the middle of the hall there is a pavilion that looks like those you could find in a movie. Overall, it's very homely and cozy.There is a nice selection of drinks and food, all very affordable. The food is tasty and the service fast and kind.Perfect place to meet up with friends or family if you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere. Sometimes there is also live entertainment, when I was there, they had someone singing and it made it all more magical.I truly recommend this place!!

My company visited from Canada and were looking for a fun place to either start our night or enjoy brunch, and this place filled every function. We celebrated team dinners here and also took our business partners here and it was lovely. Our server Summer was also an angel with a well versed knowledge of the menu and excellent service to make our experience memorable.We know we will have to return to Sheffield for business, but we'll be returning here next time we are in town too!

Will Aldred: Went out for a meal last night and the service was atrocious. We sat down at 8:30 and didn’t get asked for drinks for a good 40 minutes. 3 out of the 4 of us decided to have fish and chips and by the time the waitress came to us she told us they had none when she could have said when we sat down so it took another 30 min for a waitress to come back and ask for food. When the food came we didn’t have cutlery on the table. We asked for ketchup and got a little tub with two squirts in. No waitress asked how our meal was. We had to hunt down staff when we finished our meals for deserts as we didn’t get asked when our meals finished, also took about 20 mins for them to bring card machine. All in all the staff spend most of their shift in a corner chatting to eachover instead of servicing tables and very slow and lazy.

Natalie Charlesworth: I booked a cocktail making class for the 21st May for 12 people and We had the BEST time ever. The staff were so fabulous and easy to get along with. We even made up our own cocktails… penguin anyone 😂. We will definitely be back to do it all over again. Thanks everyone

Georgia thank: used to enjoy it here. but the bouncers couldn’t be worse. reading other reviews it’s clear i’m not the only one who thinks this. unsure why they haven’t got new bouncers already. the ones at the moment who work there are rude and disrespectful and have refused entry to many of my friends before including not allowing one of us in because they had a handbag?? wouldn’t check the bag and even offered to leave it at the door and still no entry. have witnessed them being physically violent with customers who showed no threat to the bouncers so i’m unsure how they haven’t lost their jobs yet- quite sure this classes as assault?

Emily Green: This bar is not safe for women. Visited this place with my friends on Saturday night early evening for a few drinks. After a while a group of men were trying to talk to us and one of these men kept grabbing my friend and touching her inappropriately. He wouldn't stop despite three of us asking him to go away; in fact, his response to us was very threatening: "what are you going to do about it". As we felt unsafe, we asked a bouncer to help us. All we wanted was for the bouncer to ask the men to move away, however his response to us was that there are two sides to every story (??) and if we were so bothered by him, WE should move. Three of us tried to reason with this bouncer and each explained that WE were being harassed and we felt unsafe. He actually then got aggressive and shouted in my face, "what do you want me to do about it, do you want me to attack them all???" Of course not! I feel our request for this man to be MOVED away from us (not thrown out mind) was reasonable. What should have happened is the man be asked to leave the premises but instead we were made to feel like we were a problem. It wasn't a very nice situation to be in and will not be going back.

Jane McPhillips: We had our Christmas party upstairs in the private room and had a lovely time. Staff were really attentive. As we had all pre ordered food I was dreading the usual “I can’t remember who ordered what” which drags out the night, I was pleasantly surprised when our food all started being served with our name, smooth, efficient and really tasty. As a vegan I was really impressed with the choice available and it was amazing. I’m going back just for the food! We had a quiz organised for us which was great fun and overall I couldn’t recommend highly enough. Get your Christmas do booked now!

FRANK MELLOR: We went to Kettleblack last night and it wasn't busy but the bar staff were bored and staring into space. After failing to get anyones attention, I clicked my fingers and bar manager aggressively told me I couldn't click my fingers at his staff. I politely told him that I simply wanted serving but he was being obnoxious and when I told him I didn't think there was anything wrong with clicking.my fingers to get someones attention, he decided to call the door staff who then escorted us out. We are three guys in our 50s. Hilarious. The door staff were fine and professional but the bar manager was totally obnoxious. I hope the owners reads this and deal with the pretentious little squirt.

Here the views aren't so impressive.ORIGINAL REVIEW. 2019:It's a nice enough place and a nice little set up. I actually like the place for a quiet little drink on a Sunday afternoon/evening.My problem with it is the people that drink here. Most of them (not all) are pretentious as owt.The place gets ridiculously crowded on a Saturday night and takes ages to get served as everyone orders drinks that take ages to make and even longer for everyone to Instagram it.I may visit again but it probably wouldn't be my choice.
