Lyceum Theatre: what do users think?

Geoffrey Caron-Lormier: Great experience, enjoyable play, and fantastic setting. Will try and go again! Family of three went to see the play that goes wrong. Very funny play (slapstick) and the whole family enjoyed. The theatre is well maintained and easily accessible next to the Crucible and not far from a Qpark. The seats are comfy enough for about 2hrs.

Yvonne Green: Lovely theatre, friendly staff, plenty on the door to check tickets and bags and get you inside without huge queues. Easy to get a ticket to use in QParks Charles Street to get £1 off charge.Comfy seats and sat on row N plenty of leg room.

Connor Downs: I went to the lyceum for the first time and watched Mamma Mia. Really lovely venue. Definitely keeping towards the middle class era with the price of drinks and ice-cream etc, but would definitely recommend as a venue to watch a production

Sarah Tadman: What a beautiful theatre. Have been a couple of times now, sitting in both the stalls (to the right) and the front row of the dress circle, both very good views. Staff friendly, drinks are reasonably priced for the theatre.
Robert Davey: Decent theatre. Not the biggest, butreasonabkr seats and stage not too high. Staff helpful and the theatre is clean with some updated areas.
Shaun Allan: We saw the brilliant Ocean at the End of the Lane here. It's a lovely venue with amazing interior. The staff were great too
James Clarke: Always love my visits here: this time was the Neil Gaiman Book, now Play: The Ocean at the end of the Lane: fantastic use of props and ensemble, loved it.
Carol Bulmer: Had a brilliant time every visit
Darryl Beresford: Have some great shows and the decor is amazing, but the seats are awful and so cramped.
Virginia H: Stunning theatre with fabulous productions
Lizzy Tolley: Went to see Blood Brothers' great show and such a beautiful atmospheric place
Pelly Pelly: A great Victorian old style theatre, close to The Crucible with a number of good eateries nearby if you fancy a pre or post show bite to eat.
Phil Taylor: Great atmosphere, brilliant play (The commitments ) we will be going again
Nick Mills: One of Sheffield's highlights if you like theatre
Julia Allan: Great shows
S. Shutt: Great experience and stunning stage work in beautiful surroundings but I found the circle seats very uncomfortable. I know this is due to the restrictions caused by the age of the theatre but nevertheless it affected the overall experience. I sat in the second (B) row from the front, the view is very good but the seats are narrow with little arm room. (Wide posteriors are not catered for here!) You have to sit with your arms tight by your side to avoid disturbing the person next to you and I got very hot despite the good air-conditioning. You are all so close together that we could strongly smell the lager someone was drinking 6 seats away. I found on a previous visit that the stall seats are a little better and won't book the circle again. My partner agreed that it's uncomfortable and they are usually very easygoing. We both had backache after our visit but we are "mature" and not as resilient as we used to be!Summary, great theatre if you are able to bear a little discomfort for 2hrs45mins in the circle seats.
Shirl Harrison: Great play ocean at the end of the lane. Brilliant effects really enjoyed it
Andrew Heath: Amazing show watching Sister Act! Lovely little theatre and comfy seats!
Neil Eastwood: Lovely theatre..the cheaper seats are very high and very steep.
Rob Kaye: Went to see 'An Inspector Calls', had a great time. Staff were pleasant and polite and I'm looking forwards to returning soon.
Stephen: Upper circle has very little leg room
Beth Sporton: Beautiful theatre. Lovely venue .Toilet signs directed us to handicapped only facilities. A bit confusing. Staff was limited, and intermission was short so it was a bit stressful.
Joshua Frampton T: Excellent theatre and productions however snacks are wildly overpriced.
yungsunchan: Sitting at the highest position in the penultimate row and looking down, you can still see wonderful performances👍🏼
Susan Finnerty: Beautiful theatre.Well organised.Helpful staff.Marvellous show, which we were able to watch without audience disruption.

Lantern Theatre: what do users think?

Bridget Chedgzoy: The team at the lantern never fail to produce class theatre. It is self evident that all the team put everything in to making the Lantern a superb night out. The latest production of One Man Two Guvnors was excellent.

Alan Wenham: Lovely theatre and great new plays, looking forward to the next ones in a couple of weeks

Ian Parker: Wonderful small and historic theatre in Nether Edge, just a few min outside Sheffield city centre. There are only around 85 seats , so it’s very intimate. There’s a good bar, serving bottled locally brewed beers, amongst other things. The theatre has just reopened after being closed due to Covid, and the arrangements to keep everyone (audience, staff and performers) safe were very good. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. All in all a very good experience.

Andy Barker: Wonderful experience, great set-up and they serve alcohol which was a nice surprise

Gilli Fowler: My first visit to this exquisite small theatre. Fascinating history and a lovely vibe from the friendly staff and other theatre goers. Will definitely look out for more performances here.
NA OMI: Building; Great disabled access and loo.Seating/auditorium; The viewing position is a bit odd if you need to stay in your wheelchair - the chair next to the wheelchair spot is raised too so yiur friends would be at a different height to you. If you can only transfer laterally, it wouldn't work, and I'd recommend booking an aisle seat further down towards the stage.
dawn wood: Not impressed with the fact its cashless. Had no card on me so was unable to buy a drink. Won't be going again.
Sebastian Ellis: Lovely little theatre with friendly staff
Trudi Mayo: What a beautiful theatre. Compact. Delightful... Good beer ..
Jim Barter: Sang stupid songs, drank beer, laughed tons with @scott doonican
Madelyn Lomas: Lovely, intimate little theatre.
Kate Chapman: Been to see The Bear and Afterplay….absolutely loved both….such a lovely cute theatre !!
Neil Thorman: What an odd place. Saw Madonna here when she came with Michael Jackson.
Paul Stevenson: Lovely, intimate theatre.
Kirsty Maughan: Beautiful little place, only seats about 50 people. Has a great atmosphere, with helpful and friendly volunteers who run the venue and serve refreshments from a very well stocked bar. There are disabled facilities though only room for one wheelchair user. The facilities were clean and the venue is easily accessible. Parking is on street.
Bridget Chedgzoy: The team at the lantern never fail to produce class theatre. It is self evident that all the team put everything in to making the Lantern a superb night out.The latest production of One Man Two Guvnors was excellent.
Jean Binney: Last night's rendition of One Man 2 Guvnors was superb. Well cast and fabulously enacted by a strong team. 10/10. A great evening!
Crispin Barton: A fantastic venue. By it's very nature it's inviting and full of charm.
Yvonne Parr: Fabulous little theatre.
MrChrisallen300: Lovely cosy venue
Alan Wenham: Lovely theatre and great new plays, looking forward to the next ones in a couple of weeks
Andy Barker: Wonderful experience, great set-up and they serve alcohol which was a nice surprise
Martin Spiers: Lovely little theatre: a real gem
Matthew Lumb: Great little theatre
Joe Otten: Fantastic community theatre. Lovely bunch of people. Great shows. XX
Richard Sayles: What an absolutely amazing theatre! We saw The Antics improv night here and the show was excellent, the staff were all very friendly and the theatre itself is absolutely magnificent. It's a tiny little place and it feels really intimate which just makes it even more magical, we'll definitely be back! Thanks for a brilliant evening!

City Hall: what do users think?

Alan Jessop: Fantastic building and really great helpful staff. A pleasure to go.

Dan Stewart: Went to see John Bishop and had a great time. Was sat near the back of the stalls and still close enough to have a really good view.

Francisca Rainford: Beautiful hall. Great acoustics. Good viewpoints from most seats, which are well appointed with adequate knee space.Plenty of toilets (including decent disabled toilets) and lots of corridor space for wheelchair access. Great variety of performances. Would certainly recommend.

Dave Harper: Saw Aussie Floyd here. Well managed and presented venue.Comfortable seats with good legroom in the stalls.

The Wernstrom: Would 100% visit again

Lance: Great venue for us, visit regularly when we fancy seeing a band, central location..
Finlay Beck: Stunning place. Greate atmosphere
Olena: Super 👍
Neil Curtis: Main hall was very impressive. We were in the gallery way up but I thought these seats were OK because you could appreciate the architecture and see right around the venue. For me that's a plus because I like that stuff. Restricted view seats not too bad however my wife said view wasn't great. You are warned it's restricted view so no complaints there. Prices at the bar are OTT. Directions to seats were poor and staff could do with knowing which end of the row was which instead of leaving us to try our luck!
Mandy Charlotte: Went to go and see Russell Howard, had a really good night and staff were super friendly and quick to scan people in and help them get seated. Everywhere even the toilets, were super nice and clean too, 100% go again!
Sam Rogers: A beautiful venue spoilt by over packing the audience so those taller than 5 foot 8 end up with sore legs. Don't get balcony seats if you're hoping to see the performer's face!
Greg Nicholas: Big
Mark Richards: The City Hall is an impressive venue for musical performances. It's a striking building, particularly inside. The seats are comfortable, with good legroom. The staff are friendly and helpful.I saw an open rehearsal by the Hallé Orchestra, during the afternoon, before their evening concert.
John Parker: I saw Beth Hart perform here,it was a great night,Beth is a brilliant rock, blues singer and the City Hall is the perfect venue for artist's,it's not too big or not too small, absolutely spot on.
Paul Starkey: Very helpful and pleasant staff, clean in all area.
Alan Jessop: Fantastic building and really great helpful staff. A pleasure to go.
Kira Christon: Beautiful place to go and staff are helpful.
Jane Bell: I attended a business event in the basement. Very ornate building and even the basement is perfect for a concert or event. Basement was 2 floors down. Cloak room is 1 floor down. If you use the lift it doesn't take in the cloak room and if you're using the lif to goto ground level choose -1 for side entrance.
Stephanie Glave: NAVI! MICHAEL JACKSO INPERSINATOR.My kids went to see him for the second time, before covid my son met him but he wasn't allowed this time with the pandemic, but they said he was fantastic, they both come home wanting dance classes.
Paige Shaw: Beautiful venue
mike wignal: Watched Paul Carrack , terrific night in a great venue
James Sanderson: Nice venue. Not the best for the Stranglers gig I was at. Quite tame in comparison to other gigs due to being all-seater but good facilities and seats were comfortable. Would 3.5 stars if I could
Nicky Ryalls: Deacon blue in concert, fantastic venue, only issue bar shut too early
ThisIsIndoLife: Okay

Sheffield Performing Arts: what do users think?
Louisa: Both my son and daughter have been in SPA for over five years. The classes are fun, energetic and above all they enjoy it! Their confidence has grown and they have made so many friends at SPA through classes and sharing the stage. They have had so many performance opportunities and especially love the annual SPA show and loved performing at Disneyland Paris. What an awesome experience! Cops is such an amazing teacher, and along with Ellie and Leah, they create a lovely, positive environment for all SPA students. I have recommended SPA to so many people and will continue to do so! We love it!
Nikki Leach: I would highly recommend SPA to anyone with kids who love singing, dancing and musical theatre. Both my girls aged 7 and 3 absolutely love it. Cops has created such a welcoming, supportive, fun, enjoyable atmosphere for the children and the whole school has a wonderful family feel. The kids have so many opportunities to perform throughout the year culminating in the most professional show before the summer! Even performing on stage in Disneyland Paris! SPA gives kids the nurturing atmosphere to increase their confidence, make new strong lifelong friendships, sing and dance and have fun whilst striving to improve and achieve their best. Life would not be the same without it!!
Claire Webber: My daughter has made some great friends at SPA and loves the variety of songs and dances. Staff are lovely to work with and the shows are WOW!
Itz miaa: My daughter started at SPA last year just in time for the show. She finds new places difficult and was extremely nervous and worried about starting somewhere new but Cops and the team knew exactly how to handle it and within 2 sessions she felt like she’d been there forever! Performing at Disney Land Paris was an experience she and in fact all our family will never forget. We are so grateful to Cops who constantly offers her students opportunities to perform all over the city and puts them forward for auditions to build their confidence, she’s a true inspiration and everything she does she does it for the students! Thank you SPA can’t wait for the next show xxxx
Louise Reaney: I have been attending Adult Tap at Spa for several years now and I LOVE IT. Thursday nights is my favourite night of the week. Cops classes are absolutely great and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Emily Sharp: SPA is absolutely wonderful. I was recently involed in one of their performances as an adult tapper and chaperone and couldn’t believe the satandard of their work and all round professionalism. Very impressive. Cops, Leah and Ellie are brilliant teachers.
Belinda Hughes: My son joined SPA when he was 4 and is now looking forward to his 3rd annual show. He’s grown in confidence since starting and absolutely loves being part of the varied events throughout the year. He has fun at class every Friday and always comes out re-energised and with a big smile on his face. All the teachers are amazing and I fully recommend Sheffield Performing Arts.
Chris S: Our children are aged 6 and 8 and both love attending SPA. The teachers are brilliant. Our children have lots of fun being part of SPA and have had lots of opportunities to learn, perform and grow in confidence. They would highly recommend SPA to their friends!
Julia Pervolianakis: My Daughter joined SPA 4years ago, along with my older Daughter who was also a member. During her time with Spa she has been part of a yearly show along with charity events, theatre trips, Christmas concerts and a recent trip to Disneyland Paris to perform there. It’s a professional School that’s affordable and lots of fun. I thank Cops and her teachers for givingmy Daughter a brilliant time.
Julie Wood: Excellent performing arts classes taught in a friendly but professional enviroment. Also adult tap and jazz classes that are great fun and suit all abilities. Cannot recommend highly enough!!
mum of 3: All 3 of our children attend classes here, and all love it! Staff are friendly and professional and standard of performance from the children is incredible! Plenty of opportunities to perform and the annual show is one of the highlights of our year!
Lucy Lee: Both my daughters and myself (adult tap and jazz class) absolutely love going to Sheffield Performing Arts classes. We get amazing opportunities to perform regularly and Cops is a truely exceptional teacher. We have all advanced in our dancing and performance since being part of the wonderful SPA family.
