Thomas Fieldsend: One of my best stays in any hotel the food was nice and cooked to the finest I had a walk around in ballroom as it was set up for a wedding and it was brilliant the staff who set that up really put their heart into it. The bar was Beautiful with many choice of drinks. The both stairwells were great and shows how old the building really is the hotel itself is great best iv stayed in Sheffield will definitely recommend and the price was great anorl 👍🏻 Will definitely return in the next year

Jason Greig: Totally unacceptable. Took ages to check in as only one person on reception. Found blood all over my sons pillow and sheets. We though he’d had a nose bleed but it was on the underside of the pillow and there was no sign of it on him. Complained to reception and they just said sorry. Air con not working so provided a fan. When paying nearly £600 for 3 nights you expect more. Rooms need updating desperately. I used to work in this hotel when it was built and it’s a shame to see how tired it has now got. Hilton need to do better for their loyal members. Charging to use the pool and getting the money back in vouchers for the bar??? I thought the amount I’ve paid would have allowed me to use the facilities cause the rooms themselves are just not worth it. They need to spend on this place to make it worth the amount they charge. I will certainly not be staying again, much better hotels offering better value, even if you take into consideration a taxi fare to the area.

Shannon Simpson: We stayed for 1 night which we booked last minute and the price was very reasonable, and included complimentary breakfast which made it good value for money and cheaper than budget chain hotels. We used the digital check in/ key service which was very convenient for us. We got to pick our own room which was spacious and clean. The only downside was that the bed made a noise every time you moved which kept waking us up and the pillows were a bit soft for our liking. The bathroom was a good size and had a shower screen, not curtain which we like. The receptionist was very polite and offered us local recommendations. The parking at the side of the hotel was convenient and an easy process to use/ pay for. The rate was reasonable and in line with other local cities rates.

Covenant Ojuade: Hotel was average, rooms are a bit old style. The location however is great and close to the station and city centre. I made a request at the point of booking for 2 adults (me and my friend). Novotel mentioned at the point of booking that they’d be able to make the adjustment. When I arrived, this was not the case. Not sure why the request did not filter through so this made me a bit disappointed.

Magdalena: Pleasant hotel. Room big, beds comfortable (however on both nights I woke up with a dead arm, so not perfect…), pleasant shower, nice staff, pleasant bar area inside the hotel but also nice seating are outside of hotel. Good location, next to the park and next to the winter garden that you can see though the glass wall of the hotel! Nice view from the window and properly working air conditioning. Cookies for the coffee/tea provided :) Not the cleanest hotel though, we found various hair in the bathroom and dust on the floor. A bit of lack of professionalism and privacy protection. The cleaning service knocked to the door but didn’t announce themselves and we were sure that they were knocking to the other room so initially we didn’t say anything and they just opened the door when we definitely weren’t ready to have “guests”. They came back twice and opened the door once again despite of us shouting… Just unprofessional…. We made sure we locked ourselves after that incident:) There was no “don’t disturb” sign provided until that incident happened. The SPA experience was quite average. We went on the Saturday evening and it wasn’t very busy which was nice but there were just few lockers available after you pass the showers, so you have to carry your bags and leave them unattended when you are taking the shower, it was very strange. Swimming pool was pleasant and not too busy but everything around felt a bit dirty and not really well maintained. Make sure to bring flip flops as floor is extremely slippery and wet. The SPA is nice to have if you are already there but I wouldn’t book the hotel just to use the SPA. The SPA had swimming pool, very hot sauna, steam room, aroma room (steam room), cold shower room with ice in the sink (?), “the experience shower” which was … just a normal nice shower, sun beds, chairs, tables next to the swimming pool. No safe guards (but it was only 1.2m deep), no music, no jacuzzi or any bubbles :( Nice and pleasant stay but probably too expensive (120£ a night), for what you are getting :)
