Ferndale Garden Centre Sheffield: what do users think?

Chris Wells: Large and well established garden centre on the outskirts of Sheffield Ferndale garden centre has been open for years. Plenty of parking spaces and a fairly large cafe inside. Well stocked with a large selection of bedding plants, shrubs, trees, bulbs and open seven days a week. Well worth a visit.

artificialtwenty784: Very good range of plants, outdoor furniture, books and also a cafe with a good selection of foods including a few gluten free options. Friendly staff who are happy to help you find the right plant for your garden.

Sam Vines: Visited with my parents a few weeks ago. Very nice garden centre full of interesting plants and other products. Had a bacon roll and cup of tea in the cafe; the roll was absolutely massive, very tasty, and served quickly. It was, however, fairly expensive. The place has a nice feel and the cafe is spacious, clean, and decorated with interesting local art. The only downside was the closure of one of the toilets.

Amy Spencer: Lovely garden centre with lots of plants, gifts and other items for sale. They also host a lovely cafe that makes homemade food and cakes. The plants are on the pricey side, but the quality is very good.

Ali Fenton: Lovely Christmas display and lots of choice of plants etc, but the cafe is the star. The food is fantastic and the staff are brilliant. Another plus is that everything is wheelchair friendly. Really worth a visit.

Amy Naylor: Bought a Christmas tree. The range of trees and decorations were small compared to other garden centres I have visited. Very lovely staff and the rest of the centre offers well kept plants

Kevin Brice: Great choice of plants etc at reasonable prices. Cafe is dog friendly which is great, food tasty and friendly helpful staff.
Crispin Barton: A really good garden centre with a great cooked breakfast option at the cafe!
Andrea Tait: Service bad ,toast missing from breakfasts,Sunday dinners cold,no call back to see how our food was ,will not go back waste of time and money .
Andrew Slack: Visit regularly and always a good meal there
Katie M: I've been coming to this garden centre for yours and looked forward to bringing my toddler.Having visited over the weekend I'll not be going back anytime soon. There are new tables in the outdoor area of the cafe however they are somewhat ridiculous. There's a curve on them so be warned if you put anything on them. As plates and cups will slide off! Then I attempted to try and look at the plants. This was pretty impossible. I'd put my little girl in a trolley to keep her amused and out of trouble yet unless I wanted to take her out the trolley that wouldn't push along the gravel it meant I couldn't view 80% of the plants available. When trying to make a quick exit I then saw a fellow spraying weedkiller everywhere.Incredibly disappointing overall in this climate of accessibility.
Diane Temple: The external of the centre doesn't reflect the interior. Great indoor plant section, gift shop, outdoor plants and cafe with great service
Steve Thornton: Excellent service.
Jan Hedge: Friendly place, friendly people, knowledgeable service, especial thanks to Alison
Alan Piper: We are regular visitors to Ferndale. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The coffee shop is excellent, great food and a wide range of drinks. They are just stocking up with new Spring bulbs, plants etc recommend a visit.
Judith Birju: Very poor compared to the other garden centres in the area. The range of plants seemed quite limited. Used the coffee shop but it was quite cramped and extremely noisy. Don't think I will be back any time soon.
Tanzil Shafique: Fabulous fish and chips now, on top of being a great garden center and cafe.
Jenny Sloan: Lovely place, helpful staff
Iona Tenner: Best scones in the world!
gobbl degoop: Good selection of quality plants and gardening supplies, but can be on the expensive side so worth comparing on some occasions. Items on offer are usually very good value.
Zinc Alloy: As always - got exactly what we wanted - seems to have got the garden centre balance just about right. I like this place around Christmas time especially but anytime works for me too 👍
Laura Coleman: Lovely garden centre, becoming a regular visitor with the bestie
David Wilson: Definitely a centre for gardens
Peter Sheedy: Very good had coffee and cake went round garden part lovely enjoyed
rodney stuart: Always seem to have what we want .staff really helpfull.
Janet Richardson: Large selection of plants. Coffee Shop very busy serving delicious food
Cheryl Parrett: Shopping for a birthday gift, wonderful 😊
Angela Goodwin: The 2 stars are for the cafe I'm afraid to say. Called in today with mum for a spot of lunch. It was busy and I had a look round for a table there was one being cleaned by a member of staff great I thought we have a table how wrong I was.We were stood just inside the entrance the table not far away. A member of staff came matching over and said if your waiting for a table can you wait outside (please and thankyou would have been nice) I replied that we were waiting for the said table to be cleared to which she replied this gentleman (who was inside the cafe not waiting outside) is before you!!Not a great attitude for customer service. Needless to say we didn't stay and gave New Leaf our money. Perhaps during busy times a polite notice at the entrance to the cafe advising people to wait to be seated.

No .They need to go on customer training have some lessons in helpfulness and manners.I spent nearly £50.00 and expected better service.

Karine Nohr: Great little Nursery, with good range for its small size, and friendly advice. Sourcing peat-free plants. All plants that I have bought there have done well. Part of a youth development charity that runs nature based projects to promote wellbeing, reduce isolate and develop employability skills in young people, so worth supporting on those grounds too.

Rebecca M: Lovely little plant nursery with a great selection. Buying online and picking them up in person worked really well and you can even get some advice on the best location for your new plants.

Caroline King: Great service! Lovely plants and quick turnaround.

Les Day: Nice store but lack of staff on day we were there.
J H: I love it here
Emma Naylor: Good for most diy things
Lara-Michelle Short: Interesting things
Terry Turner: Impressive showroom, filled with great roomsets and impressive design ideas
Cath Guy: First visit to homebase, found it quite expensive and could get the same at home bargains for less. A nice store and lots of choice.
Mrs Moony: Excellent customer service. Called customer service before visiting to purchase something and received excellent customer service when checking stock. Very friendly and helpful staff
Sargol: Friendly staff
Lara Webster: Loads of choice good value
Steve Rodley: Cheapest Cuprinol Ducksback anywhere...👍🏻
Vera: Not professional personal can cancel your order without reason and don't give explanation ((already happened 2 times deleted my order(((((((
James Sampson: Great place for home and garden improvements.
Christopher Perry: For a Homebase this store is very small. It is also falling apart. The ceiling is missing multiple panels and some aisles were closed because of rain. Staff were milling around the front talking because there was no customers. They were very nice when we asked a question though. We couldn't even find what we needed and went somewhere else. Poor.
Warwick Furness: Limited selection of DIY equipment, I. Managed to get some bits I needed but had to go to b and q to get the rest.
GG Vas: Very friendly and helpful staff.
Heather Summerscales: I'm hoping that for Christmas 2023 homebase brings back the turquoise and sliver wire stars ,I hope they will have other colours too ,I also hope they have remote controlled white fiber optic Christmas trees, and a bigger range of tinsel and baubles,
stewart frost: Got some Christmas decks here half price. Bargain
Sam Denno: Excellent customer service when we returned a tin of paint without the receipt. Dealt with it in a friendly and generous way.
Oliver Wilkinson: DO NOT park your car in their car park past 5pm. The time is now 6:10pm and they've locked my car in here (despite them saying the car park is open until 7:10pm) after I shopped here before nipping next door to dunelm. The sign says the car park is open until 7:10pm but the Dunelm staff told me they lock it up at 6pm everyday and I'm apparently not the first person to have fallen victim to this. Awful service.
Ian Goodwin: Love this shop everything you need to do your diy
David Howkins: Went to buy some storage - they had a good selection and the 2x2 cube unit we bought was on offer (bonus) - been again today and picked up a click and collect - great service

harveys flowers and plants: what do users think?
Mandy Farr: Ordered flowers for my father's funeral and they were stunning. I asked for a particular colour and they were perfect. Highly recommended. Many thanks.
Ruth Thruston: I have been using this lady for many years and her flower arrangements are beautiful. I have recently ordered flowers for 2 friends who sadly lost their husbands. They absolutely loved the flowers. One of my friends said the scent was beautiful and she felt she was wrapped in a blanket at a very difficult time for her. I have just read a very disturbing review on this site accusing the florist of being rude and saying the flowers were poor. That is not the lady I have been dealing with all these years, and if I were her I would sue the writer for defamation of character. A life can be ruined by putting lies on sites like this.
Celine Wager: Jane was absolutely lovely from the start to finish, communication was brilliant and she made sure we got exactly what we wanted for our wedding flowers, they were just beautiful! We had so many lovely comments on how perfect our flowers were, the colours were spot on and fit in lovely with oh colour scheme. Thank you so much for helping to make our day perfect!
gareth warnes: Used these for our wedding flowers yesterday and the attitude of the woman that delivered the flowers was attrocious! So much so other suppliers even commented on how vile her manner and language was. Rude to the bridal party, rude to myself (the groom) if it wasn't a discounted rate through the wedding planners we wouldn't have bothered.Only found out just how rude she had been after the payment, if I'd been told beforehand she would've been taking the flowers back and not getting paid.Contact has also been made to the wedding plannersto warn them moving forward so their reputation doesn't get tarnished due to the unprofessional and disgusting manner of this particular supplier.Average flower arrangements to say the least, can get that standard anywhere.
the Wednesday club: Thank you for the beautiful funeral flowers for my father they were simply stunning. The care and attention were second to none l cannot thank you enough.
Lynsey Pickin: AMAZING FLOWERSWe ordered our flowers from this lady after hearing so many good reviews and what can I say we definitely were so amazed at how beautiful they looked 11th March wasn’t the best day for us but you did us proud with the flowers and they smelt gorgeous will definitely be back xxx
Gemma Thompson: My family ordered some flowers for my step brothers funeral ("Lee Phillips")And they were absolutely beautiful, Jane did an amazing job, shes such a lovely person, I'd highly recommend her 🙂
Susan Walliss: Avoid this placeJane was very rude to me and has a bad attitude something you dont need when you are grieving we all ordered flowers for my late partners funeral. Some of the flowers were dead discusting for the price you pay they are not cheap I only asked if she had a photo of what she had made and her attitude was discusting iam surprised she gets any custom I will defo not recommend she really upset me
Kate Middleton: Jane recently did my wedding flowers after I met her at a wedding fayre. My flowers were absolutely beautiful, they were exactly what I had asked for. I would highly recommend her.
Rachel Walsh: Jane recently did both the table and bridal flowers for our wedding. The main flower we wanted was not available fresh due to the time of year so she sourced silk ones and used them along with other fresh flowers we had chosen. The whole of experience of working with Jane was excellent, she is a real credit to the floristry trade and we would not hesitate to use her again for other occasions. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she helped to give us the most amazing wedding day!!! Many thanks from Mr & Mrs Walsh
Rose Boaler: A very pleasant and relaxing experience with Harvey's when organising my daughters flowers for her wedding. The pressure was taken off me by a very professional florist. I would recommend Harvey's to anyone who wants a first class hassle free service.
Alan Weston: Harveys Flowers arranged and delivered beautiful flowers for my daughters wedding recently, the brides bouquet and the floral arrangements in water reservoirs for my wife and grooms mother were fantastic and exactly as requested... Would recommend Jane Quin for any special occasion floral arrangement...
Peace Funerals: Jane has been providing funeral flowers for Peace Funerals since 1999 and we have always been very pleased with the quality of her work. We always get nice comments from our customers about her flowers. Jane comes highly reccomended
L C: Harveys provided my wedding flowers last year. The service was fantastic, nothing was a problem for Jane who also had loads of ideas and knowledge creating the perfect wedding flowers. Above all the flowers looked beautiful and transformed the venue and the photos! Thank you!
Carl Harrison: The flowers provided for my daughters wedding were fantastic and we were asked by a few people who supplied them. Great service, will definitely use again.
