Brunch & Lunch Sheffield: what do users think?

Steven Armstrong: Visited the cafe when on a stag do, food was lovely and reasonably priced, (a lot cheaper option than nearby hotel) was only one person working who managed to keep up with the demand of customers however if the volume of people had increased I believe would have struggled. (Not a negative more concern for the employee!) Would definitely go back if in the area again.

Adam Beale: Proper cooked breakfast with excellent hash browns. Our new breakfast hauntFood: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Eric Zhi: nice brunch!deserve to have a try.

Jack Harper: Went for a random bit of breakfast, lovely service and lovely food. All round brilliant and good prices.

Anthony Richardson: Friendly greeting. Tables & chairs all nice & clean. I had a full english, all fresh & hot. Lovely dippy egg.

Rabina Akhtar: Today I particularly requested if the soup was on the menu as previously they made delicious tomato soup. They have gone through an extra mile to specifically make the soup and thank you for preparing the soup for me. I was outstanding. As a regular the food is superb and at a good price. Much appreciated.

Aj: This place has a proper chef. It might be a humble cafe with just a few tables...but it needs more....very busy, students , shoppers and half the building site lads enjoying nosh, by searing, take away or delivery. Really good food, coffee is ace....good luck getting a seat

The Cabin: what do users think?

Andy T: Dropped in for brunch. Staff were really helpful whilst we waited for a table. We went to the gift shop upstairs which was well worth a visit. The food was great, very fresh and very flavoursome. The Mexican waffle was really good and the bagel was superb. Cannot fault in any way. Really refreshing to go somewhere with great service, great food and a great atmosphere.

Matt P: Lovely food and lovely friendly service. Popped in here as we’d arrived too early for the shops and was really impressed from the moment we stepped in until we left. At the time we arrived it was busy however every effort was made to find us a space, even offering us a small table with the promise to move us when a larger one became available. The first table was perfect, we was made welcome and the menu explained. This being our first visit was remembered and later we was asked if we’d had a nice time. It’s set slightly out of the way but it’s worth the bit of a walk to pay them a visit.

Ethan Staniland: Booked a table for 2 as it was recommended, the cafe had an inviting and warm atmosphere. Quirky decor and unique hardwood furniture alongside fulfilling food and great service made The Cabin a lovely stop for breakfast or brunch. Offers both sweet and savoury options and a wide range of hot and cold barista made drinks.Recommended dishes Pancakes and Waffles …More

Pelican Reviews: A cool way to spend a couple hours with jazz playing, coffee, bagels, huge pancakes and waffles with all sorts of toppings... Reminded me of a trip to Canada... I must go back sometime. The staff were fantastic and I would like to thank Emily in particular, for going the extra mile with our food order, meticulously ensuring our dietary requirements were met.

Annie: Nice breakfast/ dessert spot. Nicely decorated with friendly helpful staff, a good selection of food a lot of sweet and savoury options. Pancakes are big and flavourful and coffee is nice too.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Liv Kennedy: I had the most gorgeous vegan pancakes!! Highly recommend the banana bread pancakes, they’re choc chip with cinnamon, banana and loads of maple syrup - heavenly 🤤🤤 (also goes very well with smoothies- the green kale one was great)Service was quick, prices were reasonable, food was tasty!
Asha Panigrahi: Lovely ambiance, great service. One improvement would be to introduce a vegan burrito. Shouldn't be too difficult with scrambled tofu and vegan cheese / guacamole! Not loads of savoury vegan options in general.

Lee Copeland: Popped in by chance whilst in Sheffield, very friendly and warm welcome and explained the way ordering works there.Price is very good for the quality of food, I had the works pancake stack and the sausage patty was THE best I've ever had.5*Vegetarian options: Wife had the vegetarian burrito and she thoroughly enjoyed
Nora Yaq: The food is absolutely amazing, the portion is very generous, good for sharingPancakes and bagels are deliciousGood coffeeFast food servingBut the atmosphere is not very comfortable it is very dark inside, the tables are very close like every time i try to move i touch the chair behind me and vice versa which is annoying and i think it needs proper ventilation as the smell of food stuck in the clothes badlyThe staff are very friendly, serve customers with fab smile, quick and very respectful
Norma Alison: Just love this place.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Pancakes and Waffles Dietary restrictions accommodated Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten free, Dairy free Recommendation for vegetarians Highly recommend …More
Akeel Auckloo: Pancakes were disgusting. Just tasted of eggs. No flavour whatsoeverEdit: Owner claims that they are the best pancake around.. and are praised by American customers.. sure. This put real American pancake to shame.I have to say that I was offered a £5 voucher and they told me not to leave a negative review.. the pancake came up to more than £8.Clearly, the owner are entitled to claim to have the best pancakes around. Stay away and go eat somewhere else.
Steve Beech: Went here this morning and had the works buts i didn't like the pancakes, they were very dry and bread like. I don't like maple syrup so the whole meal was dry, I left the pancakes as did my wife.
Y C: Superb service. Staff is very friendly. Dogs are more than welcome. Free bacon & eggs and a clean bowl of water for my dog. Portion of food is large. Mohsin Ali: Been here twice. First time was in their old location. The photo I added was from there. Tried their new location today. They were able to make me over easy eggs with my waffle. Amazing really enjoyed it. Hashbrown didn’t seem up to par. If they started doing American style hash that would be really dope. Still giving five stars cos I really love this place. Atmosphere is great. Staff are super friendly and will accommodate you. Food arrived at a good time even tho it was considerably busy. Look forward to returning again!
Purp P: Nice food, decor, and staff but could really do with fewer tables. Everyone is tripping over everyone and getting in each others way. Plus, it really needs some sound dampening soft furnishings as all the noise just overwhelms.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options
Laura Shaw: Absolutely lovely little place to eat. Can not recommend this place enough. The food is lovely and the staff are so friendly and welcomingKid-friendliness: Asked for a nice place to sit out the way for breast-feeding, so helpful finding me a comfortable table. The toilets changing facilities are great, they even had wipes and nappies.
Toni Jo: Always love this place. Everything was really nice except I thought I’d try the chicken strips with waffles and the chicken was slices of cold, fake, pre-packed chicken. Just disappointing, not just with the food, on this occasion, but with the complete ignorance and attitude of the owner. It's probably a 'best seller' because people, like me, expected the chicken to be edible. Probably the most sent back dish too.
mauro demicheli: Nice place, very filling and yummy food. It gets very busy so get ready to have to wait quite a bit if you don't book in advance. Only negative is that does feel a bit cramped when it's full. They cater for gluten free options but they are cooked with the rest of the food so cross contamination is possible.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Pancakes with Strawberry and Peanut Butter, Pancakes and Waffles, Salmon Bagel, Waffle with Bacon Sausage Pattie and Scrambled Eggs, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs Waffle …More

The Hidden Gem Cafe: what do users think?

Emily Brett: Visited this cafe a number of times over the past few years and always have a lovely visit, really good quality dishes. Most recently sat outside as this is dog friendly and had a very delicious croque monsieur 😋 Will be back!

chilicrazi: First time here. A little difficult to work out how to actually get to the car park as there is a confusing sign before you actually get there. Once in, was pleasantly surprised by the place. Modern with touch of rusticness (is that a word???). Wasn’t overly busy when I arrived but that soon changed on a Saturday morning! Coffee (black Americano). On the the strong side but brewed correctly. **** Breakfast (vegan full English). Slightly on small on the portion side but food was rich and filling. Nice crusty bread and plenty of healthy greens and mushrooms. Hash browns were warm tasty. Beans weren’t to my liking but edible. Potato wedges were tasty. Spinach and broccoli were a little on the greasy side but non the less flavoursome. **** Atmosphere was pleasant and not overly noisy. There was sufficient parking at the time but soon fills up so arrive early as possible (Saturdays).

Wendy Harrison: Superb! I chose from a Christmas menu and had pigs in blankets on a soft toasted bread with maple syrup. Absolutely delicious. Quick service by very friendly staff too. Lovely Christmas treat from my sister in law. Will definitely go again.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

romano goi: This place is literally a hidden gem, food was fantastic! Place is lovely & staff are too. Vegetarian options: There was veggie options Dietary restrictions: They did gluten free and dairy free milk.

Susan Gardner: Excellent menu provided. Although really busy food arrived promptly and beautifully served. Such a great atmosphere and all the staff so pleasant and accomodating. Thoroughly recommended. Vegetarian options: Lots of choices. Tasty interesting food 😋.

Jon Stewart: Nice breakfast, almost really good, but not quite. The meals seemed a bit rushed. My toast, on which the scrambled egg was presented was a bit dry. But the eggs and smoked salmon were good.

Beverley Fieldsend: It really is a gem. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and served. The service was excellent and we had a lovely meal. Will definitely return.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Marmadukes - Norfolk Row: what do users think?

Bee K: Such a lovely brunch spot! Super friendly service, very helpful. There’s good seating inside and outside for warmer days. Good selection of food and treats, great coffee as well with variety of different milks (plant and diary). Would definitely come again.

Lana: Seated quickly, staff were buzzing around the whole time so it was very easy to order, ask questions and get the bill. The food was very good and well priced with plenty of options available on the menu. We have been several times and have never been let down!

Alastair Woolley: Lovely little place with plenty of character and ambiance. Staff are accommodating and friendly and the food is delicious. Great coffee too. Recommended! 5/5 Vegetarian options: Mushrooms on toast with two poached eggs

Owain Blackwood: Very impressed - pleasant ambience, good quality coffee, attentive and helpful staff that made the whole visit a pleasure. Mushrooms on toast with poached eggs highly recommended - the whole meal had a lovely balance without the bitterness that supermarket mushrooms often have, and portion size was perfect. A sound decision for breakfast!

Anirudh Kumar: Visited this branch with some friends, having tried Marmadukes at Ecclesall Road before. Slightly smaller restaurant in middle of town but did not disappoint at all! Was a busy lunch service but staff still decent and food was really excellent! Would recommend the cornbread, having tried it at both branches.

Andrew Rudolf: Whilst visiting Sheffield, checked Google for some coffee shop recommendations and found I was near Marmadukes. It has a somewhat cool demeanour and a oldie worldly feel. The staff were friendly and mostly knowledgeable about their product(s). Beverage wise I when with a cortado and one of the house specials filter coffees, both were delicious with either a berry fruit tone or stone fruit tone and very well balanced. Food wise I went with the cornbread on the brunch part of the menu. You could argue for the price it could do with a bit of bulking up such as an extra egg and a more generous slice of the cornbread. But if I’m honest that’s just me being gluttonous. It was cooked very well and nicely presented, it also didn’t take very long to get to the table after ordering. Which I felt was very impressive considering how busy the cafe was. I would highly recommend a stop off here just for the coffee, however it also has the benefits of delicious food too…

Julie Glover: A lovely find! I felt very comfortable on my own here, sadly not the case everywhere. The menu was very varied and it was lovely to see cakes and dishes that were new to me. Claire Storey: Had order taken, and was shown to a seat. Order never arrived. Waited 30 minutes before leaving. Tried to ask 3 staff members, was repeatedly ignored. My order was only a coffee, but it's put me off ever returning.
Francis Murphy: Loved it here - we spotted the man himself Ken Doherty. Food was excellent.
El Ro: Use to be a nice spot but I’m changing my review as I won’t be coming back again.Apparently the place since last month has a non-smoking policy in the outside seatings which doesn’t make any sense as there is a distance in the tables and obviously nobody would be distributed. The inside seatings are horrible as you literally don’t have space to move and in general is just expensive for no reason as there is nothing special in their menu.
Caroline Devonport: Go back here every time we go to Sheffield.Food is great, couldn't finish mine today.Staff are helpful and courteous.Great cafe. Not the cheapest but always great
Hannah Materne: Best brunch in the UK! Came here with my partner and parents, we’re all Aussie so we’re a bit picky when it comes to brunch but the Marmadukes’ weekend brunch is fantastic, including the vegan one. Also exceptional coffee, chai lattes and pastries - can’t fault this place. It’s a must!

Holly Hollisey-McLean: Love, love, love! My husband and I began going here a few years ago and discovered the eggs royals which are the creme de la crème of all brunch options.Today we went with a friend who was visiting from Rutland and we ordered drinks hot and cold, mixture of pastries and some brunch which was stunning.Lovely spot!Shout out to the waiter (man) who welcomed us to the venue he was great.
Sofiia Bondaryeva: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Eggs Royale with Spinach, Avocado ToastMore
Kerstin Ringeis: Super yum. We got lucky, as we did not need to wait that long for a table. Super friendly staff and immediately some tab water on our table. Their new Shakshuka version (they call it diffently and is also made a bit different) was fantastic. We both loved it. Great coffee next to it. On top I fell in love with the sourdough bread. This is how you start the day. Cozy and small place. For sure, go there!Kid-friendliness: We saw some kids' chairs.Dietary restrictions: They asked if we got allergies and made a note to the order.

Tamper Sellers Wheel: what do users think?
Kirsten Howard: The food was decent, if massively overpriced, but no sweetener in a coffee place? Come on lol
Anton Hecht: . It is an anti cafe. I am told in a near empty cafe that I only have an hour!!!! I also went there with a friend with a toddler and was made to sit by door and to feel very very unwelcome. I also went there in snow when everywhere shut and once again it near empty to be told when taking out laptop ‘it not a workspace’ and they’ll need the table in an hour. I work at the hallam and I ask all hallam people do not continue to assist this anti cafe ridiculous unfriendly and inhospitable business to continue. Honestly an empty cafe when you are told you have and hour is not a cafe.
Joanne Wong: Great selection of food served here. Cosy vibes for a casual breakfast or brunch! Really good food as well!

DREAD DEATH: What can I say except that in my entire life I have never enjoyed eating fish so much in my entire life. The Tamper is an excellent restaurant and the slight wait is quickly compensated by the quality of the food. My greetings from France.
SX L: This place has great reviews so we decided to try. When we arrived we were told we have to wait for an hour as the place is full. Don’t be fazed as it’s not that long. We grabbed a coffee and was seated when the coffee arrived. We ordered scrambled tofu and chilli crab. Was not as impressed by them and we weren’t full. Added on sweet potato fries which was great! Could tell it’s fresh and not frozen. Wasn’t sure why people said the coffee is to die for, though it was too bitter.
Miss Is: YOU HAVE TO BOOK A TABLE ESPECIALLY BEFORE 2PM. I couldn't see any signs outside to say this nor on Google review. Didn't think to check the website. Otherwise wouldn't have driven from far to check this place out. Arrived and was asked if we had a booking...which we didn't.Looking through to the seating area it was very busy, gloomy dark looking with hard wooden chairs. Instead we sat on the few seats available near the cashier coffee area. The wait was going to be 25mins without a booking so we had a coffee instead which was presented nice. Slightly bitter. Wouldn't come again sadly.

Chloe Smith: Love the breakfasts here, especially the pancakes. They have pastries too. Couch is a good spot for meeting at lunch time as they have a nice lunch menu, or even just to grab a coffee. There's plenty of space and it has a relaxing vibe. Have also been here for after work drinks so you could say it's a good venue no matter what time of day.
João Paulo Biancardini: Used to be my favourite spot in Sheffield to have my brunch. Great place , great food, great coffee..but as a frequent customer I noticed they reduced drastically the portion and sizes of some options as eggs Benedict for example, which makes no sense for the price you pay anymore.
Alan Turner: Breakfast and coffee were brilliant, staff were lovely and chatty and the decor is so unique and quirky. Literally can’t fault it. Will return if ever in Sheffield
Annie: Nice breakfast spot. Quite a lot of space inside and a cosy relaxed atmosphere. Staff are helpful and friendly and the food was yummy and well presented. Would go back.Kid-friendliness: High chairs and kids meals available

Manca Kapac: Relaxing atmosphere and laid back staff make it a great place for a brunch on a day off. A good range of vegetarian and meat dishes. Bev Tam.: Highly recommend this venue. It's very relaxed, welcoming, and the food was excellent.
Kapil Siddharth: Loved it. My wife loved its famous combo of coffee and cake.
Andy Turner: Now our 4th visit, this time brought friends time, came for breakfast on a Saturday morning and still wow, they enjoyed it, loved the quality of the produce. Everything we had was excellent, yes still a little pricey but we definitely got value for money. Staff as always very friendly and efficient quick service. All our party enjoyed it we will be going back for sure.
mario fial: Greate place to relax and amazing food.
Bernard Carmo: Excellent Sunday lunch, extremely large Eggs Benedict that the photo doesn’t do justice, white wine served properly cold during a heat wave, and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Brunch Break: what do users think?

Nash M (Prince): Freshly made sandwiches friendly and helpful staff.Clean and there’s a seat for two inside but mostly it’s a take out all great.
Joshua France: huge sarnies with about 6 sausages. great value for 4 quid.
Mike Hearn: Lovely service, absolutely stunning sandwiches, with a little banter on the side. Highly recommended from a customer of 4 years+
Samantha Samantha: Can't speak for the food as it is cash only and I didn't have any. Traditional independent sandwich shop with hot n cold drinks etc like you might buy off a van. Take away only. Seemed friendly.
Adrian Pierce: Ordered hot sandwiches for a bunch of us at work...and they loved them. Good service..all wrapped to keep warm, named and priced up..making my job as organizer easier. The sizes were on the large size... so beware :) and everyone said the content was great too..good value as well.
D T: Lovely little Monday to Friday take away cafe. I can recommend the hot sausage and tomato sandwich! You can usually park outside too while you nip in.
Mal Allerton: Good quality food. Friendly staff.
Destiny Chan: Friendly staff and lovely sandwiches
Shaun Pritchard: My team at work have sandwiches from Brunch Break. Everyone agrees how good they are and they don't skimp on the bacon! A small Bacon Sausage and egg will fill your boots! Great value.

The Grind Cafe: what do users think?

Ash Hodson: Literally the best coffee in Sheffield!! Located in a lovely area, super cool staff always friendly and smiley and the food is gorgeous! Highly recommended!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
JAYALAKSHMI K PRAKASH: Recommended dishes Loaded PancakesMore
Bledi Cera: Highly recommendedJust been there for breakfast with my mother, lovely staff and wonderful breakfastThank you
Parker (Parker911): Really liked this place, cozy modern atmosphere, easy to understand service and a lovely big pot of tea, couldn’t have asked for more
Arun Bhardwaj: Amazing food, good coffee, great location, top staff, good vibe. Best brunch I've had in a while, the salmon was peng
David: Amazing breakfast top quality ingredients lovely coffee well worth a visit !!!
Chenchen Xu: the crust of sausage roll is really nice
Cameron Clark: Fantastic coffee, nice crockery, nice atmosphere and decor - would recommend
Brad Hancock: We had the full english breakfast here and for the price it is really not worth it. £21 for a breakfast and a latte in Sheffield is already overpriced as I've paid less in central London. But, the hash browns are not hash browns, the portion size is small, and the overall taste is underwhelming. However, the coffee here is good and they offer milk alternatives as well as syrups.
Jo Wilson: Such a.lovely placeService: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Emma Tackie: Really impressed with Grind Cafe. The atmosphere is very nice, I absolutely love the decor, it's really cute. The staff are lovely, and the cafe is really clean too. Just wish the cups were a little bigger because the drinks are so yummy!
Carl Sherratt: Great cafe relaxing atmosphere with restaurant quality food which gets 10/10. Had a lovely time enjoying a meal planned for my son's birthday, highly recommended.
Drew M: Overall was good but food is an acquired taste, some was really nice others. Not so much, would love a little taster to try it out before ordering in the futureFood: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Justin Park: 셰필드의 맛있는 브런치를 맛볼 수 있는 카페.에그베네딕트도 맛있고, 서비스는 꽤 친절함
Andy Turner: I hadn't been to the grind in age's, but very pleased to get a table, for a lovely breakfast, bacon sandwich for me. The coffee was excellent, the only slight hitch was they forgot our breakfast sandwiches, but after mentioning it, they apologised, brought us more coffees and breakfast sandwiches followed. I can't wait to go again, it was just as good as I remembered.
Keith Ellis: Lovely coffee and friendly staff, nice relaxed atmosphere (and our dog loved it too!)
Luke Martin: Very disappointing. This place is entirely style over substance. It thinks its cooler than it is. We waited 20 minutes to be served good microwaved from a fridge which wasn't even consistently warm through. They forgot our coffee order and we had to ask again. The menu is confusing and poorly put together. The furniture was uncomfortable. They have high chairs but nothing on the menu suitable for kids.
