Sheffield Cathedral: what do users think?

Ronald Hawkes: What a treat! The cathedral lies in the heart of the city and is surrounded by grass obviously much enjoyed by local workers enjoying their lunchtime break in the sunshine. The cathedral is an extended mediaeval parish church, which now has a number of side chapels, and a crypt, as well as the original nave and choir, and a west end extension with fabulous modern glass. There was a marvelous stainless steel Nativity scene and a really beautiful simple stainless steel font. It was great to see the place busy, with a lunchtime wedding hotly followed by a rehearsal by the youth orchestra. Good loos! And a very nice coffee shop and a gift shop. Welcoming and friendly staff.

Nicholas Barfield: Visited as night fell and really appreciated the harmonious blend of sacred and secular - steel sculptures of Mary, Joseph and the Christ Child alongside seasonal trees decorated by local community groups. The extensive renovations in recent years blend smoothly with the C16th architecture of the original building, modern lighting allows one to appreciate the interior detail, and friendly church staff are helpful and welcoming. Although we are not Sheffield people, we intend to return to the cathedral to share in future events.

John Lyne: What a lovely place with lovely people. It was being well used by children, loads of lego for them. Nice to see a church venue being well used. Still some quite spaces for a bit of contemplation.

kareema hamdy: Had a nice walk around the cathedral...you can clearly see the old and new parts of the building which I think is deliberate but works so well. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Sue: A wonderful mix of old and new this cathedral has a real wow factor as you step inside. Staff are so lovely, helpful and friendly. The architecture, windows, carvings and statues are all absolutely amazing. We highly recommend you visit this cathedral if your in the area.

paul sewell: Always a good place to visit.Free, but donations more than welcome. The volunteers and staff are amazing. Lots to see and loads of events throughout the year. Hidden in plain sight. Just off the tram stop.

Rahul Verma: Visited this place on Christmas 2022. If you are in Sheffield, you should definitely visit this place. The rustic vibe inside the hall is so good. The ceiling in the image is one of the attractions you would love to see here.

Gaia: Stopped off on our way to Newcastle and will be stopping off again on our way back. Wicked cocktails, nice building and amazing food made me want to go vegan for a minute. Our server was really nice as well she even sorted us out with a free ice cream.

Andrew Flanagan: This reinvented space is a cool bar with the obvious religious theme. Its a good sized bar close to the Kelham Island area and now a popular place for a younger crowd. This is a nice bar alongside the river, a little pricey though. It has a good selection of drinks amd plenty of seating.

Mark R: 100% Vegan. The decor, space and style of the church is like nothing else. It’s got a pulpit, decorated with flowers and amazing artwork. Retro games machines, pool table and gaming booths do not detract from the ambiance at all. They also put events on like a movie and it’s pretty cool. There’s a brilliant selection of beers and cocktails with a quick table service or just order at the bar. Onto the menu - Ohh my … Been there 4 times and never get through the menu - God I’ve tried (get it? Church!) - because they change it. Never been disappointed. Nice combo is the black bun burger and mango or banana beer.
Charlotte Holden: Excellent and friendly staff, the art and decor is just absolutely stunning, I genuinely cannot put into words how beautiful this place is. Crosses hung from the wall covered in an array of coloured flowers. Stained glass windows and detailed ceiling paintings. Little built in video game huts. Just a true dream. I came when this place first opened, and to come back years later and see how gorgeous it is now is an amazing thing. Last thing, the food. SO delicious. Oh my god. Reasonably priced, too! Overall, I don't think I can credit this place enough. I would come here all the time if I didn't live a 2 hour drive away!
Lewis Saville: Incredible scenery and vibe, even in the middle of the day - great decor, unique location, shame about the London prices
Mark McManus: Great service by Katie G, food and drinks were great and loved the atmosphere. Would definitely come again!
Stuart Fisk: I LOVE this place!! I go every time I visit Sheffield. Good beer selection (less IPA/hoppy stuff pls, bit more fruity/dark. Food is really tasty and fair value. Staff and clientele are happy and polite. V good atmosphere and it's also v easy to park nearby.
deane winter: Very energetic atmosphere and great staff. Didn't eat but will on my next visit
Beverley Lancaster: Took my dog, loved it, great atmosphere
Jason Murcott: First ever visit to this place and all I can say is I love it .
Lucy Buricin: Absolutely love this place. Amazing food, atmosphere, staff. Definitely come back again
Amy Fox: Amazing food and cocktails, and really lovely service by Nathan (the geordie geezer!) Thanks! 🧡
Jenna Fenton: Amazing!!
Burag Gurden: Cosy place, great burgers, grest vegan options!!
Belle Darling: Fantastic atmosphereDelicious foodDecor has to be seen to be experienced
Emma Ollerenshaw: This gothic vegan restaurant is a unique and interesting dining experience. The dark and moody decor sets the perfect atmosphere for the delicious and creative vegan dishes on offer. The menu has a great range of options, from comfort food classics to more experimental dishes. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate about veganism, and the drinks menu is just as impressive as the food. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for vegans and non-vegans alike looking for something different and memorable.
Alex Blow: Decent food, good choice of beers, friendly service. Will be visiting again :)
David Turner: Enjoyed a fantastic vegan meal. Plenty of atmosphere and vibe in this uniquely church themed restaurant and bar.
Emilia Cz: Great place, an artistic masterpiece in terms on design. Food and drinks also very good :)
Archie Beresford: Very solid venue, excellent atmosphere, great selection of drinks
Andrew Owen: Brilliant, vegan food but it was lovely. Seems to be getting better over time.
ellenna Connelly: LOVED IT!! First time fully veganing, would definitely recommend!!! Great decor too!!
Jeff Bevan: Excellent plant based menu and super tasty food. Great vibe of an evening
supplefluid: Temple of fun indeed!
