Tim Avis: Quality cottage. Nice and spacious with nice rooms. The hot tub and sauna area are very nice. The only down side was size of the kitchen, which was very small and very hot. Not enough kitchen utensils either.

Jessica Holloway: B&B at Loadbrook was superb. The accomodation is spacious, comfortable and attractive. I had the continental breakfast in my room which was delicious and generous. The views and setting are beautiful. Stunning walks on the doorstep, Sheffield city centre 20 minutes although you would never know it, and Chatsworth 30 minutes. Friendly, attentive hosts.

Ian Barton: Alison is a wonderful host and the place is amazing. Welly the black lab is a jolly little fellow. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone wanting quality food and sleep.

Lisa Shaw: The spa area was amazing. It was calm and immaculate. I had a back massage and a leg/foot massage - it was extremely relaxing and perfect pressure.I will definitely be returning!Nearby activities: Spa attached to the cottages.

Bethany Atkins: I spent the night in Bramble Cottage. It was beautifully clean on arrival and the breakfast hamper catered for my dairy intolerance which was so thoughtful. The spa is beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff, exceptionally clean and the saunas, steam rooms, tropical shower, hot tub and foot spas spoilt me for choice! I will be back! Thank you.

Michelle Gould: The spa was amazing, an even better experience than expected. We hadn't realised how exclusive it would feel due to how they limit the number of guests using the facilities at the same time. We were lucky with the weather which meant we made the most of the outdoor area too. Many thanks to Mary and Jimmy, and the spa girls for making it such an enjoyable and relaxing experience.

Abi Bennett: Amazing spa - My second trip and it’s very lovely and always a nice relaxing few hours. The view is beautiful & the outdoor hot tub is my favourite.Just the right amount of people using the spa, don’t feel cramped or rushed. The changing rooms are clean and the spa is easy to use. Very happy & would love to visit again!

Ann Whittaker: Had a lovely meal at the Plough, nice and hot

Ron Hagan: You have to see the photo book to appreciate how much work has gone into transforming this cottage from a black hole into the amazing modern and comfortable cottage it is today. Add to that the beautiful village, the adjacent Damflask reservoir plus the wonderful Plough pub just across the road and you will realise that it’s a totally wonderful place to stay. The visitors book comments nearly all finish with “we’ll be back”. So will I.

Lily: Beautiful place, comfy beds, heating, nice bath and lovely views of the fields.

Tina Webb: There are buses that go to Barnsley and Sheffield but if you have your own transport it is better. Not suitable for people with disabilities as there is no lift.Rooms: Rooms are comfortable and have tea making facilities and also have end suite showers.

Troy Green: A very old historic B&B. A little out of our way to stay, but worth it. Tony & Su were wonderful hosts/people. Very quaint and comfortable place to stay.Rooms: Our room was an on-suite. Very comfortable. Comfortable bed. Plenty of room.Walkability: If you're so inclined, there are lots of walking trails nearby.Food & drinks: Breakfast with Su was great. Su is a dream host. Next door at the Wortley Arms pub is the best fish & chips that we had while in the UK or Ireland.Noteworthy details: Wortley is a very old village. Beautiful area. Some history to the cottage and Tony is happy to regale you with it if you choose. Tony and Su are very proud of their place and it shows.

Richard Champion: I have just completed a tour of the UK and this place was, without a doubt the best B&B I have ever stayed in.A comfortable room, a wonderful breakfast and lovely people. The only problem is that it’s too far to commute to from some of the places I visited. For me, it was very special having somewhere that I felt really at home.

Andrew Biggin: Fantastic place for a large group of friends or family

Andy Brittles: We stayed over Easter for a week. A party of 12, our children and grand children. We arrived on Good Friday to two beautiful home made cakes left by the owners. What a lovely start to our break. The accommodation was exactly as described, just perfect. The hot tub was an added bonus, which the family really enjoyed. The cottage is really well equipped with crockery, cooking utensils etc, unlike a few other places we have stayed. There were lots of board games and the pool table definitely got some use. We did meet the owners, who were lovely and really helpful. All in all it was a perfect week with the family and the accommodation was brilliant. Would definitely recommend staying at the old Robin Hood cottage. Andy,

Daniel Lewis: This was the perfect house for a relaxed stag-do. Loads of space and parking, as well as everything we needed - hottub, bbq and games room were great. The surrounding countryside is lovely and there are some nice and friendly pubs in Holmesfield itself too.Aoife was really friendly and very helpful, answering our questions and providing routes for a walk.Would definitely recommend!

Ann Chester: A great house for large family get togethers with several bathrooms and lots of space - both inside and out. We had a fab time and would definitely recommend this property.

Joshua Hunt: Amazing place for family and friends - the location is incredible - highly recommend.

Southend FrenchCircle: : we slept our three teenage grandsons in one and little grandson had a fold out bed in with his parents. One en-suite and two family bathrooms ensured ample facilities for 12 of us. The pool table and table football went down well with the kids and we all enjoyed the hot-tub. The area is great for walking and cycling or just looking out of the panoramic dining room window to enjoy the scenery. Highly recommended.

Jean Houlton: We were a family of 15 celebrating my 60th birthday arrived to find the house was absolutely beautiful inside and out plus there were lots of little extras in the kitchen like tea coffee sugar cleaning products. The weather wasn't the best but lots of games ect and made good use of the hot tub which was topped up daily for us .it truly was a weekend to remember and would certainly recommend to anyone .plenty of room for us all

Michelle Byrne: Fantastic stay in The Old Robin Hood, the house was amazing, extremely well equipped with everything you need. The house was super warm, with lovely underfloor heating -Great for my 1 &2 year old to be playing on! The views were just stunning especially out the sitting room window! The outdoor space was brilliant with some unseasonably good weather- we had a few games of football in the garden. The owners were fantastic and let my boys pet the horses and which was a highlight for the 2yo! Hubby and I enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings when babies were asleep - with gorgeous clear skies it was a treat to be able to relax. We went to Matlock and Chatsworth House both had great playgrounds and the farm at Chatsworth was lovely! Will definitely be making this an annual visit!! Thank you Peter and Aoife Kenny!!

Hugh Cunningham: Cracking house, great location

Bill Patton: Beautiful location.

Jean Mckay: Lovely house, very comfortable and we'll equipped, perfect for a family celebration/get together

Rachel Findlay: A fab holiday home with stunning views from the living room across the hills. A perfect base to explore the local area, Bakewell and Chatsworth house both a short drive away. As a group of friends with 8 kids the games room was a big hit and the house is very spacious with lots of character. Owner very attentive and friendly, no request too much!!! Thanks again Aoife for our lovely break.

The Cabin: what do users think?

Jen Evans: the Green Reviver smoothie, which really hit the spot after a full-on party weekend :

Tilly Hall: Order the Works with French toast. Excellent portion sizes with box to take left overs away. French toast was lovely and crisp, the fillings were great quality: bacon was thick and well cooked, sausage patty was flavourful and scrambled eggs were fab, not rubbery. Atmosphere was nice and friendly. Staff helpful and smiley. Lovely morning brunch would recommend and go again.

oliver Twiby: The Cabin is a restaurant my partner and I frequent as regularly as we can.It is a great little spot for breakfast. We are always incredibly impressed with the quality of the food and how friendly the staff are.The Cabin can get quite busy during weekends so we would recommend booking first so as not to be disappointed. There is always a lovely atmosphere and it is quite cosy inside although when busier can be a little cramped. The prices are fair and the menu choice is not overwhelming. We love coming back time after time.

Jason White: Possibly the best pancakes I’ve ever had.I had the biscoff pancakes and they were heavenly, the biscoff spread inside the pancakes along with the biscoff crumb made for a really tasty and filling breakfast.I’d also highly recommend trying the maple chai tea.
