frank dungworth: Been calling in for a couple of months now,my favourite steak is rump I think there's more flavour,now rump steak can sometimes be a bit tough,not here though without doubt the best rump steak I've come across excellent flavour and always tender,also if you like mutton thats great from here as well.Edit Feb 2023 been using Dean's for about 18 months now got all the Christmas meat for the last 2, everything as good as the first time I went Excellent.

Craig Holland: Although more expensive than the Asda across the road, the produce is a lot better. The staff are friendly and helpful and the entire atmosphere of the place is a lot more welcoming than regular super markets.The selection of ales is impressive if you're into that sort of thing too.

Matej Mokry: Went in to buy two steaks as a recommendation from a friend. When the butcher was passing them over to me, he smiled and said those will be superb. With a lot of confidence. Well I know why! The steak was amazing thick cut, aged to perfection, juicy and as tender as it comes. Cooked Medium rare in my case. Good luck finding anything remotely close to it in supermarket.

I was shocked, I apologised stating I only had limited cash on me to which I was ignored. This is the worst customer service. I shan't go back and neither will my family, nor my friends with word of mouth. Shame on you.
Stephen Reid: Excellent butchers, very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The meat is of the highest quality and welfare standard and the butchers will be able to tell you exactly where your meat came from and how it was reared. There's no denying you pay extra for the quality and some won't believe it's worth it but prices aren't extortionate and cheap cuts are always available too.
John Slater: After 6 years a veggie, I took the plunge and had a good chat with the owner. Very friendly, understanding and informative and happily went through the whole process and background of his 2 main suppliers.

The service at Batty's was great, questions answered and a great choice of joints for Xmas. Even got the ham dipped.I'll be back to report on the meat which I hope will be as good as the service.Btw there's lots more than butcher meat. Great pork pies, Serrano ham, cheeses, gravies, even got a haggis.

Just Jaye: A mixed experience to be honest. I was viewed with great suspicion when I visited and the staff clearly didn't want to serve me. As a relatively underwhelming middle aged woman, it's not my usual experience. Perhaps because I was a stranger and it's normally locals only, I don't know!?I might have thought I had some weird mark on my face but people in other areas didn't react to me out of the ordinary. In fairness, it was the same reaction I got in neighbouring shops on the same road, not just at the butchers.Ordinarily I might have knocked my rating down for the...frankly curious...reception I received. However, I have to give them their due and say I could not fault the sandwich I purchased here. It was spot on and worth every penny, so I would visit again and try to ignore the slightly uncomfortable feeling their strange reaction to me engendered 🤷🏻♀️

So grateful for this store.P.s. prices could be a biiiit lower for other stuff esp. for students.

Used to be Bob on and good value been going for years coming all way from Stainforth. went last week, bought about £80 worth and honestly it was shocking. lamb chops going green, chewy steaks, and the weights were all out??? In Hadfield favour.....Honestly think you've lost passion for the job and resorted to ripping people off, will be taking this matter further it's not on, I'll be going elsewhere from now on .....

Gareth Morley-Harwood: First and foremost, the range of flavour glazes here are great and I have been going to Hadfields for the past 3 or 4 years now, for my marinated chicken and lamb cutlets, which I've always found too be good value and of a decent quality, but after my wife overhearing one of the staff members shouting "have you flavoured that dodgy batch of chicken yet" as we were getting out of the car... Quite rightly, it has really put us off... I'm really gutted as I used to buy a month's worth of meat for the freezer.. I've still got some in our freezer and it's making me wonder if it's actually safe to eat???
