Chloe Hill: I got married in August and Blushes gave the whole wedding dress experience a first class treatment! As a plus sized bride I was so nervous about dress shopping, expecting it to be a difficult and distressing process. Only for Nicola to pull my dream dress on the very first one! Even when we had to postpone, she was amazing and all the staff were so helpful and accomodating. All the alterations were done without a fuss and she even taught my Mum and maid of honour to do up a corset back! I felt like a beautiful princess on my day, and the majority of the credit goes to this beautiful gown! Thank you so much! If you are in South Yorkshire and looking for a wedding dress, Blushes is 100% the place to be!
Abigail Smith: Blushes were absolutely fantastic in creating my dream dress. I went in with a small idea of what I wanted and eventually Nicola helped me construct the dress by adding the elements I wanted to an already gorgous dress. Everything was done in house regarding the tailoring which just made everything so easy! Loved the experience and I wish I could wear this dress everyday haha. Thanks so much ❤❤❤

Susan Thomas-Hetherington: The appointment for my daughter to try on dresses was a very relaxed affair. Various dresses tried on and no pressure to buy. We returned after lunch and said we would purchase the dress that my daughter loved. However, a short time later, plans unfortunately had to change and I phoned the shop asking if they could loan a dress as the wedding was going to be the next day.The ladies here went above and beyond to help my daughter have a wedding dress for the ceremony. They stayed open especially for her and helped her get a gown to wear along with accessories. The kindness they showed during a very sad time for us as a family will not be forgotten. Thank you so much to you both.

I attended an appointment last minute and arrived in a negative mindset due to my previous experiences. I cannot explained how incredible my experience was at Blushes! No dress I have tried at other shops fit me. However, she kept working on the dress until it fitted my body correctly. She explained all the different ways I could alter dresses, using similar fabric to show how it would look. She added different shoes, accessories and vails to each look. Due to having a large chest and small waist, most stores said they couldn’t accommodate my sizing and I would have to have a dress made. But Blushes was the opposite and made each dress unique to me. Thank you so much for making my appointment yesterday such a positive experience! I can’t wait for my dress to arrive now.
Ashleigh Cummins: Can’t rate Blushes highly enough, I absolutely loved the experience of getting my wedding dress from here! I went in having no idea what style of dress I wanted, and not particularly wanting a “wedding” dress. The first dress I try on turned out to be a total showstopper, and every other dress I tried was 2nd place to it. Nic was a dream to work with, she was kind and understanding and I felt no pressure to buy, only encouragement to follow how I felt. 10/10, thank you so much Blushes team!
Sue Muscroft: What a gem of a find!! My daughter lived in London and I live on the east coast. We called here whilst in Sheffield to go to a concert and we are so happy we did. Nicola has been so professional, friendly and helpful throughout. We purchased the wedding dress, shoes and head piece that day. We’ve since purchased bridesmaid dresses/shoes and my outfit. The wedding was cancelled due to Covid and two years later we’ve been to collect/be fitted for our outfits. My daughter now lives in italy and Nicola has been in constant communication with her since the first lockdown . She’s had my dress altered twice and even swapped one of the bridesmaid dresses for a different style despite having personalised the first one purchased. We have always been warmly welcomed whenever we’ve been to the showroom and we’ve never felt rushed. Thanks Nicola for all your help and advice !!

Veda Hardy: I went to this excellent shop today to help my granddaughter choose her wedding dress the lady could not have been more helpful she took time to make everything perfect for my granddaughter and easily got everything together it's wonderful to see someone in these times to take time to make everything perfect nothing was too much trouble really good also my daughter in law chose her mother of the bride outfit at the same time and the same care was given to her also my granddaughter adores her dress and is so happy my daughter in law adores hers absolutely excellent it would be a sin not too mention the beautiful wedding dresses ❤️ adorable bridesmaid dresses glamorous mother in law dresses and evening wear plus all the amazing accessories ❤️

Luke Ankers: My wife says:I had a fantastic experience at Blushes. I knew I wanted a shorter dress, but didn't really have a clear idea of what I was looking for. The shop manager showed my mum several options and let her take photographs to show me before I visited. The staff were really attentive and there was absolutely no pressure on me to make a purchase. The alterations were done swiftly and I felt beautiful and comfortable on my wedding day. I can't recommend Blushes enough.

Chloe Radcliffe-Scott: If you’re unsure about where to start with your wedding dress shopping, please make a visit to Emily Bridalwear! From the moment I stepped into the shop you were all so lovely and helped awkward little me feel amazing. Emma knew exactly the style I was after, despite my head being full of ideas, and I felt like a film star in my dress. 🤩 Georgina is an absolute scream and she helped me relax during my first try-on and accessories appointment. A real asset to the team! Big thank you to Liza as well for altering my dress (which was definitely a few sizes too big when it arrived!!). It fit perfectly on the day and was effortless to wear. Emma was absolutely amazing, her enthusiasm and knowledge about both the dresses and what would suit my body made me feel so comfortable and confident. I felt like I need to take the time to process what had happened after trying the dresses, there was no pressure whatsoever, we went and had lunch and came back and I knew it was my dress. I cannot wait to go back and try it on again when my dress arrives but everyone was so lovely and I would go back in heartbeat! We drive two hours and it was 1000% worth it!

After falling in love with a few dresses on their website, I travelled four hours for my appointment and oh was it worth the trip. Zoe Pendlebury: These girls are incredible. It was my third bridal shop I had visited. I felt really disheartened because the other two shops were not great. But, EmilyBridal made me feel so special. They helped me narrow down styles that I felt suited me and were super patient with my indecisiveness. I was made to feel like queen. After choosing my dress their excellent customer service didn’t stop there (I’ve heard bad stories of shops not caring after you have paid them). Emily Bridal continued to make me feel so special and the rest of the process was seamless. I’m super grateful.

ami mills: Five stars are not enough.Over a year ago I wasn’t having much luck finding my dress, until I saw one from Martina Liana online, after doing some research I found that Emily bridal stocked the brand, so I send an Instagram message asking if they had the dress in question - they didn’t. Instead they rang around and found somewhere in Liverpool and loaned it from there - so the SAME week i enquired they got the dress from Liverpool to Sheffield just for me to try, there was a chance I might not have even liked the dress but they still got it. So that same week, I tried the dress and fell in love. - it was my dress.The service and the staff at Emily bridal are second to none. The second you walk in you feel that you’re in great hands, they’re kind, caring warm and welcoming. You feel like a queen walking in to there, they can’t do enough for you.The communication was consistent and there was an easy on line system that had all my appointments on easy for me to manage and find, not to mention reminder texts and the occasional email.I would like to give a huge shout out to Emma, who was there for my first ever appointment.Megan who helped me with my veil choice and letting my try my dress to show my friend.And Nicole, who throughout has being like a massive cheerleader making me feel like a million dollars whenever she saw me or my dress. G was so attentive and helpful and put me at ease straight away with her down to earth attitude and sense of humour which I guess you definitely need to have when you’re stood there in just your pants stepping in and out of multiple dresses 😂. Nothing was too much trouble even after trying about 12 different dresses on. I fell in love with the second dress I tried on and still went back to it at the end. Kim Melissa: Got my wedding dress from Emily’s bridal for my wedding in Kos, Greece in August 2022. My whole experience was amazing, from the initial appointment to adjustments and getting the dress. All the girls are super friendly and welcoming. I found out I was pregnant after I’d ordered a dress and they were helpful and accommodating. Luckily the dress still worked and it didn’t need too many adjustments. I couldn’t have been happier with my dress on my wedding day!

I’d heard such good things about the EB Team so I had to book an appointment.Georgina aka G made me and my mum so welcome and comfortable. I’ve had 2 children so don’t feel my best but Georgina made me feel so glamorous and confident. A glass of Prosecco on arrival and the place is stunning! I found my perfect dress first time and it’s all down to Georgina’s amazing help! I never thought a dress could bring me to tears and it did, even if it was 4 sizes to small! We were greeted at the door by Nicole who my appointment was with, she took us upstairs to one of the fitting rooms and the decor is clean & minimal but beautiful and very well done. Nicole sat us down explain the process of what I was looking for and we went from there. She offered us a drink which came beautifully presented and was fresh coffee. The dresses she chose were a mix of what I liked and what she thought would suit and she did not disappoint! I found my dress and honestly could not be more impressed with their service, knowledge and manner. Amy Dann: Lovely, helpful and honest. Claire helped find me the right dress with as little or as much guidance as I wanted, Jo transformed my dress to fit like a glove. The whole experience was perfection from start to finish. Beautiful dresses, highly recommended!
Regina Felangie: I Can’t recommend The Bridal House highly enough! I bought my wedding dress here and had a bridesmaid dress made for a friend’s wedding on a previous occasion. Both times using The Bridal House they were absolutely fantastic!! Extremely helpful in choosing the right style to suit and during my fittings in adding the finishing touches to tailor my dress to fit. I couldn’t have asked for a more stunning dress on my big day – it looked absolutely gorgeous on the day and in all my photos.
Sarah Kearns: What you get at the Bridal House is a good, friendly personal service. I dealt with Jo and she was great all the way through, supporting me through the whole wedding planning process. Because TBH also make their own dresses, they also do all of the alterations on site which was a big plus point meaning that the person measuring you up also alters your dress as I didn’t like the idea of the dress being sent elsewhere to be altered. I would definitely recommend TBH both for purchasing a dress or having it made!

Sarah Kearns: What you get at the Bridal House is a good, friendly personal service. I dealt with Jo and she was great all the way through, supporting me through the whole wedding planning process. Because TBH also make their own dresses, they also do all of the alterations on site which was a big plus point meaning that the person measuring you up also alters your dress as I didn’t like the idea of the dress being sent elsewhere to be altered. I would definitely recommend TBH both for purchasing a dress or having it made!

She took time in getting to know me and what I liked, along with the theme of the wedding and any dresses I had already looked at. After choosing some dresses that I liked, I tried them on and there was something about each that wasn’t for me, Ruby then went and picked a dress which had elements of each I had tried on and it was perfect. So I said yes to the dress! Ruby definitely went above and beyond with her service and I’m so glad I didn’t go anywhere else! Thank you so much again x
Amy Wright: I came to Hummingbird Bridal Studio after having an absolute disaster. I had previously bought a dress from another shop in the sale, and I wanted to make sure it was clean and ready for the big day. I sent it to a ‘specialist’ bridal cleaners to be cleaned, and it came back with stains all over the lace... It’s completely ruined. I was absolutely devastated and couldn’t believe what had happened. After having a few conversations with friends and researching I was recommended to Rebecca. I messaged her to ask if she could get me an appointment, she quickly responded and got me booked in. On arrival she was warm and welcoming, and told me how sorry she was to hear about my nightmare. She asked if my mum and I wanted a drink (tea/coffee/bubbly 😋) and guided me to the type of dresses I had mentioned I liked. We told her the budget, and she made sure we didn’t pull anything out that wasn’t in that budget! I tried on around 6 beautiful dresses in the styles I liked, and we ended up finding my new dress!!! It’s stunning!! All three of us nearly ended up in (happy) tears ha! There was no pressure to buy at all, in fact she even advised that I think about it, go to my other appointments and make sure I was 100% sure. I then returned to the shop a day later, and bought the dress ☺️☺️ Would a million percent recommend Hummingbird Bridal to any one. Rebecca made a rubbish situation so much better. I felt the experience was tailored to me, with fabulous customer service. Thank you again!!

Emily Neesam: Absolutely amazing ladies who work there, attended with my mum on the 25th February (also my mums birthday) both ladies wished my mum a happy birthday and so was friendly and wanted my mum to be involved with everything which just made her day! There was so many beautiful dresses and alot within my budget which wasn't a hug one, but still accommodated this, i did pull a dress over my budget and the lady who was putting me in the dresses did explain that she wouldn't feel comfortable putting me in a dress that was over my budget and this really put me at ease. I managed to narrow it down to two dresses loved them both but wanted to change elements of each dress to suit what i wanted, i didn't leave with a dress as i just couldn't make a decision, but the lady stated for me to come back in a couple of months and she would try and get the elements i wanted for each dress and so i could actually see my vision. Which is just amazing! Honestly if i could give 10 stars i would. Such an amazing experience so thank you so much! I can't wait to come back!

Soo Townsend: Be very careful that you get ALL information before making any decisions. Very helpful and fabulous service but prices were not given, despite being requested whilst trying the dresses, then immediate payment requested. Partial payment negotiated, with date set for rest (within 60 days). No cooling off period and NO CANCELLATION possible despite trying to do so LONG BEFORE any production would have started. In fact, the final payment had to be made AFTER trying to cancel the order.

Kate is so friendly and genuinely interested in getting to know you which makes it feel truly personalised. Kate's focus on ethics and sustainability is also worth highlighting, especially in the era of fast fashion.

Sarah Mat: Where do I start with Kate’s dresses??Shopping for a wedding dress was a bit daunting for me as I generally find them to be a bit fussy… but as soon as I walked into Kate’s studio I was in love. The fabrics are just so beautiful and I was spoilt for choice with the gorgeous designs!! Not only that but Kate and the girls are so lovely and down to earth that they make you feel instantly at ease.I was 5 months pregnant when I first visited and the wedding was scheduled for over a year ahead. Kate was super flexible to accommodate this - suggesting I choose an initial design which I could change closer to the wedding depending on where my weight was (which I did!!) and pushing the fittings close to the wedding date to give me time to get in shape. The whole process was easy and enjoyable.And most importantly my wedding dress is perfect. I felt beautiful and elegant on the day which I hadn’t even hoped for! So a huge thanks to Kate (and Katie) for this - you guys are incredible!

I didn't know exactly what I was looking for but liked how elegant the dresses looked.I was a bit nervous about my appointment but Kate instantly made me feel relaxed - she's genuinely lovely. All of the dresses were just as beautiful in real life but Peony was my favourite - it was so comfortable and floaty (perfect for a ceilidh).We made a few tweaks to the design to suit me and I was in love with the final result. Kate went the extra mile with everything, including sowing in a brooch to my sash (both bought elsewhere) and sending first year anniversary cards!

Deborah Jones: Where do I start!?!From the very first visit My bridesmaids & I were made to feel so welcome, and the most important people in the world. There was no hard sell, just careful listening to each of us, & what we all had in our minds eye of our perfect dresses. Helen felt like your big sister with honest views on what we tried on and was genuinely interested in every aspect of our wedding to make sure ‘The Dress’ would have its perfect stage on the day. Every visit after this for alterations/fittings we were as blown away by Kerry who finally made me cry (very very happy tears) when for the final fitting she helped me step into the dress that exceeded my vision & every dream I have ever had about my wedding dress. It is very rare I give review, and even rarer I would recommend, but truly do both here with a 5 star review. Thank you Helen & Kerry for making our perfect day by creating the perfect dresses 🙏🏽

Katie Louise: I will be forever thankful that I came across Celebrating curves and the lovely Jane. After losing my dad, and losing all the excitement surrounding getting married without him, I came across Jane. She empathised with me, sharing her own loss, and after a dreadful encounter with another bridal boutique, she brought me around and reminded me what it feels like to love myself and feel excited again.After a day of trying on, and then returning with a fresh mind, I found my dress.I went to collect my dress this week, and Jane made it so special for me, and my god I love my dress. I’m so eternally grateful to the lovely Jane ♥️
Daina Swann: Getting married is supposed to be one of the most magical times of your life, but for a plus size girl looking for a dress filled me with dread and anxiety, after searching the internet looking at stores that said they offered plus size only to realise there was actually little option to try on a dress that was anywhere close to fitting, I found Jane at Celebrating Curves and I couldn’t of wished for a better experience. Not only does Jane have a vast amount of dresses to try on in a range of sizes, she has years of experiences and understanding backing her, and from start to finish Jane put me at ease. We even through a spanner in the works when I found out I was pregnant after ordering my dress! Luckily Jane had great contacts and we were able to get it altered to fit the growing bump! I recommend Jane to any bride, but especially brides who are anxious to find a dress they feel comfortable in. I can’t thank Jane enough xx
Ellie Wilson: Jane is an absolute delight and unbelievably good at what she does. I'm not typically a very 'dressy' person at the best of times, so wedding dress shopping was always going to be a nightmare! However, it ended up being one of the easiest and most pain free parts of the entire wedding process thanks to Jane! She's such a good judge of character - her first dress suggestion ended up being 'the one'! Jane has a brilliant sense of humour and will make you feel totally at ease and comfortable the second you walk in the door. Cannot recommend her highly enough!

I have had some bad experiences shopping for wedding dresses in the past, but but Jane put me at ease straight away and really listened to what I wanted and she was so patient. The selection of dresses available are unbelievable. They are all so gorgeous that I could have tried on every one of them, and in so many styles to suit all tastes and body shapes. thatissochaz: Well, what can I say? I was absolutely blown away by Jane and CC. I was so apprehensive to try on dresses and as soon as I walked into the building, Jane put me at ease. I had my family with me, equally as nervous, and it just became a lovely afternoon with laughs a minute. I felt so supported and heard. The sale was fantastic, every single dress was beautiful and the building is beautifully decorated. I have not stopped recommending this place to friends and family who are getting married or thinking about it for the future. We will definitely be going back for MOB and bridesmaid dresses as I can't think of anyone better. Thank you, Jane, I can't wait to see my dress again!

hollie irwin: I had no idea what I wanted and Jane somehow managed to nail it right on the first try even when I didn't even want to try any dresses on, she also dressed our flower girl and mother of the bride and all 3 dresses were stunning and fit amazingly, but most of all jane was so supportive and made me feel like it was possible to find a dress I loved and could feel comfortable in!

The entire experience was wonderful Jane eased my anxieties made me feel comfortable and helped me choose my perfect dress.I was anxious of straight size stores because I didn’t want my weight to become a focus and then me feel different or I like a dress and get told we don’t do it in your size etc but at a store like this you just feel and get treat like every other bride which is how it should be. You get the same experience any bride would get if not better because it’s a smaller store and Jane really does get to know her clients.I would honestly recommend this store to anyone who’s plus size/curvy looking for a wedding dress.

Amy Wragg: I want to start by saying a massive thank you to Amie for making me feel so comfortable in my dress alteration appointments. She is an absolute diamond and very talented at what she does! Also as a plus size bride I wanted someone who could work with my shape and that’s exactly what I got!She instantly knew that I was self conscious of my mum tum and suggested lifting the dress from the waist to give the desired length but to also help create the illusion of a more free flowing dress from bust to the floor. It really changed the dress for the better and I never knew this was an option.We also had 5 bridesmaids dresses altered with Amie and she was just as amazing. Had I known Amie before I purchased our bridesmaids dresses I would have had her make 5 from scratch. I really missed out there!All I will say is get your appointment booked in ASAP because honestly you won’t regret it.Thank you for everything Amie! x

She noticed minor little tweaks that I wouldn’t have noticed were needed but made my wedding dress absolutely perfect. She goes above and beyond and works with you with suggestions. She is skilled in what she does and also provides an excellent friendly service. I will definitely be using her in the future for any alterations I need.
Audrey Anyani: I had a prom dress that was quite small and I couldn’t zip up. My prom was exactly 3 weeks round the corner and I didn’t have time nor the money to buy a new one. Getting in contact with Amie was simple and very quickly, I had left my dress in her magical hands and before I knew it my dress was ready to be picked up with 5 days to spare before my prom. Her service and skills are amazing and would completely recommend without a doubt.

The dress had a zipper on the back that didn't sit well and affected the fit of the dress and took away from the back lace detail. She moved it to the side where it was completely hidden and also made the dress fit like a glove. I felt amazing on my wedding day and got SO many compliments on the dress. Couldn't recommend Amie more - true professional!
Sarah Magyar: I went in with a plain wedding dress that was far too long and far too big on top, I also took in an overskirt that I wanted attached to the dress. I was really worried about how the dress would fit me and how the skirt would look, but Amie worked her magic to make everything fit and blend seamlessly. I'm so happy with my dress now and can't wait to wear it on the big day! So I highly recommend Bow and Lace, you won't find a more friendly or professional service anywhere else!
Beth WK: This is my first ever review online. I found Aimie via a google search of Sheffield seamstresses. I needed my wedding dress altered with only 2 months to go to the wedding day! I keenly read the reviews and decided to give Aimie a go. The shop is clean, light and spacious. I'd been to another seamstress whose shop didn't even have enough room to fluff the train of my dress out, and I wasn't impressed. I am a plus size bride, and very body positive. I didn't want to work with someone who wouldn't know how to work with the my curves and features:-) As it happens, it was clear that Aimie had quite a bit of experience working with plus size brides. I only did 2 fittings because of the short time, but the dress came out perfectly. I loved the dress when I bought it, but didn't like the back. It was a tricky one to get right but Aimie found a way to alter the back lace into something I really liked. She also suggested and found (and altered!) a peticoat for me, which meant that I could walk freely without the dress getting into my legs.I got married in London and I had so many of my guests, as well as random strangers and tourists tell me how beautiful the dress was! So many random people wanted to take a photo with me on the streets of London!:-) I would highly recommend Aimie- she is worth the price she asks for, very professional. I will be going to her again in future as I was very happy with her services.
