Ell Ward: It’s actually impossible to get an appointment since every time you ring they tell you to ring back tomorrow at 8. Then you can’t even get through. The receptionist are rude and hang up the phone before you finish speaking. They need lessons in hospitality. They take advantage of the fact we have to use this service. I’ve gone to the one in Chesterfield because it’s miles better. Terrible service.

Rosie Dal-Molin: There are clearly not enough staff to answer calls and with no alternative to book an appointment this is simply not acceptable. I have been trying to book for three weeks but every time I call, I am eighth plus in the queue. I have waited for forty five minutes yet still no one actually spoke to me .I even called in to book face to face but was told there was a waiting list and that they would call me - so far, after a week, no one has. It is ridiculous that we have no alternative in Sheffield but to use a central service that is inaccessible. I am going to officially complain!

Mikaela Korth: As has already been said by others, I cannot get through on the phone. Why is there only one contact number available on the website despite there being several different departments? I was originally booked for a coil fitting which was totally wrong (i only wanted some pills!) And now I have waited nearly a month to get my results back and am having to now chase these up. This should not be happening, it has only caused me more stress wondering whether I have caught something or not. Doctors were friendly at least but yet again its the appointments and admin system which has let the service down.

Lalla: Had an appointment that was booked 2 weeks prior cancelled randomly by clinic staff, and was treated as a walk-in patient. No explanation nor apology for the wasted time I spent there, and I still have no idea how or why my appointment was cancelled without my knowledge at all. I had to wait 1.5hours to be seen to, was pressured by nurses and receptionists to not leave despite me expressing the desire to do so on several occasions, and then was treated badly by a nurse who was sarcastic and impatient with me, bringing me to tears.the procedure I went in for was botched again (i had been twice prior for this exact reason the weeks before and still have not had any success with my procedure) which left me in pain, and will make it harder for it to take place for the foreseeable future. I was promised a doctor to do the procedure and have not had one at all, therefore leaving me with people who have not been able to do it.I won’t be returning here again. Appalling service.

I didn't wait a minute after the time I was scheduled for. I met the best assistant who behaved exemplary with me! Thank you for your help! Do a wonderful job!

A B: Terrible inaccessible service, not the staffs fault but clearly there’s no funding anymore it makes me really sad to think. When I was younger it was so easy to get a self test kit or walk in for an appointment. Now I’ve tried for three weeks just to order a self test kit and every time it says to come back tomorrow. What has the nhs come to :( I don’t think I’ll ever get one as I don’t have access to my phone during 8-5 when I’m working so can never get there in time. So I could just be walking around with an sti that I could spread to others or could ruin my reproductive system 👍

Connor Jay: Used to be so helpful.Could walk in pick up a self test kit do it put it in a box without having to speak to anyone.Apparently now you can only order it online or collect one.So I spent £20 in taxi to get a test as the website is utterly terrible and won't give me a test telling me to just book a appointment.To show how I used to have a symptom 3 days ago but no longer.I arrived to be turned away being told I had to order a test online.So I have to lie to the website to get a test or book a appointment.Which I've tried twice in the last week got through to someone at 8:34 to be told that they are fully booked 4 minutes after opening.And the 2nd time rang 12 times before getting through to someone to be told that they are fully booked agaiI start work at 12 tommorow so lets hope i can manage to get a apointment tommorow then i can spend another £20 to probably sit in a room tell my symprom show my dingle and then be made to pee in a cup to get it tested before any treatment can be given.If I could ya know do a self test would save alot of hassle I could just ring up and say hi I did a test this is the result can you get me in for treatment

Ridiculously impossible to make an important appointment when I have concerns!!I even emailed in with my concerns and asked to make an appointment. Charlie Scott: Super helpful staff and didn't have to wait long to get through to reception to make an appointment. After having pain from my implant I found out it had been touching a nerve which made getting it out a way more anxious experience. The doctor was extremely helpful, did great job at keeping me calm and removed my implant super quick. Waiting times may be annoying but for a free service with amazing helpful staff I can't complain.

Karen Private: As a health care professional myself (clinical psychologist) it is also my, perhaps unrealistic, hope that other health care providers treat service users with the same respect and courtesy I do! In a distressing time of my life when my mother was moved into permanent residential nursing care support from services would have helped. Sadly with Breathing Space I had 3 messages that I left regarding the removal of Mums oxygèn from her property - no one called me back until after it was (half) removed! 4 days later. Yet someone had called the supplier to arrange removal they just didn’t inform me! It seems it’s taken for granted that I can just spend half a day travelling from one city to another. Quite how whoever saw fit to call the supplier didn’t see fit to return my calls to make sure access was possible is beyond me It only got sorted as in the absence of BS calling back I called the supplier myself I am now left with the supplier having been and not removed it all as “I do not have my tools” and it seems am expectation that i can take another days leave to travel back to 150 miles to be there again Absolutely appalling service from BS ignoring requests for calls and calling suppliers but not the next of kin No wonder services are “require improvement “ by the CQC!

Michael Tyas: Went here this afternoon for pulmonary therapy my appointment was 2pm after 2 busses an 1 hour and 20 mins travelling I arrived 10 mins early and informed receptionist I was here I was told to take a seat 40 mins later still sat there so asked receptionist if I was still waiting to which she replied therapy started 30 mins ago in gymnasium has nobody been for you to which I replied no so she pointed me towards gym when I got to gym told therapist I had been waiting 30 mins he told me to take a seat he would be with me in 1 min to have a chat 10 mins later still sat there at which point I was fed up and decided to leave at which point the therapist told me he had lost my paperwork told him I was leaving had waited long enough also while i was in the waiting room for 40 mins they were conducting oxygen assessments in the waiting room very unprofessional i thought.Need to add to this turned up to this building and could not breathe told me to go away they would not help me absolute joke.

Janice Whitehouse: I have servere c.o.p.d I had been attending breathing space for 3years and was happy with my treatment I am a smoker all be it maybe 3 a day. I had been seeing all the consultants during this time then 2 of them left so I was sent to hospital to see a consultant there who then reffered me back to breathing space I saw a nurse and was told she didn't know what she was supposed to do with me and as I smoke there is nothing more they could do for me and was discharging me she was very abrupt and made me feel like a leper as when I first started going I was told that there would never be a time when I would be turned away so now I have been left with no support at all thrown on the scrapheap breathing space is clearly not the place I first thought it was and I would never go there again

L Sinclair: Whole process is easy to follow. The team I spoke with initially over the phone were based in Manchester. They clarified which tests I would need and made the booking for me at the Centre that was nearest to where I live and everything went very smoothly.The Centre I was tested at in High Wycombe was easy to find and had parking just outside. The person who completed my tests made me feel more comfortable . I had not undertaken the tests before and so did not know what to expect. He put me at my ease, explaining exactly what would happen and what would be expected of me.The results came through to me in just a few days and I would definitely recommend this service and the very professional team that you'll be dealing with.

Very very unprofessional staff and rude aswell, asked for a written letter about my condition and the rude lady with glasses said she would get me one once i have a blood test, i agreed to the blood test which wasnt necessary as i have had this chronic condition since childhood, then i recieve a text saying due to clerical error my blood test was booked in a slot which was unusable (it was the lady with glasses again who made that error) so i had to change my plans which was a big hassle. Later i called again and same lady said i may not get this letter (previously said the doc will give me this letter after my test) i told her i can also get this from my hemoglobin doctor at hallamshire but could take a while, (wanting to get an idea about how much time this letter would take) then she went wild on me and said ‘well go to that doctor if u can get a letter from them’ and she put the phone down, i called again trying to explain my situation but she didnt give me a chance and said ‘thers another customer on the line’ again put the phone down on me, theyre so unproffesional, i even heard another lady on the phone call in the back trying to be rude to me. Never going there back again, was with this GP practise all my life such a shame, everyone here is rude including the doctor she becomes irritated if u try to explain anything to her, was thinking to leave a long time ago but today, that decision has been made, family members also wont be going here!! Side note, my sister and her family left this GP practise a long time ago due to staff being unproffesional and rude!! Never again.

niall: Disappointed, told my GP that I had tested positive for a life threatening genetic disorder on a dna test ,with a family history of the disorder. After chasing up why I had no correspendce months later, only to find they had not even put me in for a dna test referal or taken any action at all.In response: I both told the GP verbally and sent an email with the dna test result which I have proof of. ''You lost the email'' is a sad excuse for taking no action at all and in effect gambling with someones life

First appointment the doctor threatened several times to suddenly stop presvribing a medication which she had a personal disagreement with, which could have meant going through serious withdrawals that could end in death.I was not allowed a repeat prescription and had to call up every time i needed a new prescription which was often difficult as my living comes from basic incapacity benefit which means I cannot always afford minutes.During the last conversation with my doctor before switching surgeries, she conirmed that I would have my prescription in 5 days. When I came to collect my prescription it had not been sent. When I phoned up to see what was going on I was told that I needed to give 48 hours notice even though it had been 5 days since the doctor had confirmed that my medication would be at the pharmacy.The receptionist was not only abrasively rude to me but the pharmacist also said that he was in fact "quite horrrible" to them when they called to see what could be done. I was forced to go to A&E to collect my prescription.Do not choose this surgery if you have a psychiatric history.----Response to surgery's comments:The very first appointment with you, you treated me like a naughty child, feeling need to stress that you'd "read my notes" and giving me a look of disaproval as if it's a physican's place to judge. Several times during this appointment you threatened to suddenly stop prescribing a medication from which the withdraals can result in death. Seveal times during this session I agreed to give my consent to gradual reductions if you had concerns and yet you kept saying "if i wanted to, I could stop prescribing it just like that!"You had a personal disagreement with one of my medications and decided that it was the job of a substance misuse service to deal with, causing me to feel like a drug addict because I happened to have been prescribed a medicine by a doctor which helped with my sleep and appetite.You refused to allow me a repeat prescription and demanded that I call 48 hours before I needed another script, again delivering the message that I am somehow not entitled to the same services as others because I have a psychiatric history.You assured me on the phone that my medication would be at the pharmacy at a particular time and when I went to collect them you had not sent anything, leaving me with no medication and immediate and serious withdrawal symptoms. I had to go to A&E to get my prescription even after I tried to explain the situation to your receptionist, by whom, I shall state once more, the pharmacist who was trying to help felt that she was spoken to "horribly."Every step of the way your only interest was to make sure i got the message that I am subservient to you and at your whim, to point where I was under constent threat of not having the correct medicine, with no will of my own, even though I never challenged you once through all of this, but tried to work hard in conjucunction with your views as a doctor.You may wish to know that, in under a month, in cooperation with my new GP I have succesfully reduced this mdication you made such a problem of by more than two thirds. They allow me repeats, they give me their time without any toxic attitude and treat me with dignity just like any other patient.Your absolute denial of the truth of how you treated me and your weak justifactions are appalling. You should be ashamed as a medical professional who has a duty of care.

The surgery is clean, the staff are always helpful and friendly on reception, i never have a problem making an appointment or had to wait very long for one. My doctor- well she is just amazing! i feel like she genuinely cares. I wouldn't go anywhere else to see a doctor because mine is just fab!

Lisa Nicholson: I have not a bad word to say about Fitzwilliam center,my experience with the staff has always been great.The thing I love about the staff is that they treat you like a real person, can talk to them about anything and they have never judged me and never made me feel like a low person,I wish I could say that about some of my GP,s at the surgery i am in but they do judge and treat me like I am a bad person that is me putting it mildly.oh and PS I just love Dave one of the staff there he is a great help and really cares

Piotr Bond: My friend needed help to go to rehab. And the staff just make it difficult. They only offer the cheapest option. They send addicted people to a methadone pharmacy. This is the peak of their capabilities. Although they get money from the state budget, money from our taxes. Money to treat addicts. What are they doing with that money? Addicted people need rehab. And no walks to the pharmacy. The staff think drug addiction is like cigarette addiction 🤦🏻‍♂️

Sigh Dystopitek: I don't want to leave bad reviews on here really as I would hate to be a stumbling block on someone who is trying to get help but some of the staff here are seriously not great. If you have a complicated situation which might mean you end up coming on and off your prescription some people here will come across like there punishing you, it can feel like going through some kind of criminal justice system sometimes rather than being a patient, I understand that there's a limited budget but that's not really my fault and things aren't always going to be simple, there is a lot of staff here which are truly amazing caring people but then there's others who I feel completely miss the idea of working at a supportive therapeutic service... I don't know how things are in the rest of the country so I have nothing to compare with but there is certainly a lot I would change if I could

Donna Gregory: I came for pain killer addiction I have been on codeine for 10 years and my GP has said they only gave them to me as I was addicted so I sought out help Fitzwilliam and my worker Dave has been fantastic and Dr Rele. I have a lot of other issues going on and I'm so grateful for all that these fantastic people have done. If you really want to kick the habit then please come here

Pauline Milnes: The doctors only want to put you on meds they know without checking your background or allergies and are not interested in your concerns.The psychology team only tell you that you have a personality disorder that makes you an addict!Two weekends in a row I have been left without medication due to the poor wording on the prescriptions.Was all but called a liar when I rang out of hours GP to try and get some meds to last the weekend because they thought I was trying it on to get extra meds.And it takes them at least four weeks to tell you GP what they have arranged for youLack of communication when I ran out of meds and put on daily scripts. I was left four days not knowing what was happening.No out of hours contact available only 111 and A&E who can’t help you with opiates anyway.The only people who work there that go out of their way to help you are the receptionists who will run round for u all day if u asked.

Lyndsay Bracken: I’ve been going for a while. My results have been clean for ages. Keep in mind your sharing a toilet with other addicts in different stages of recovery & protect yourself by pulling out two cups so the second isn’t likely to be touched. I’ve found Sarah & Andy very helpful. It’s not perfec but if your alright with them there alright with you there’s some things only a user can understand but they do try, I only see my worker mainly he’s reasonable. Once you manage to get onto a stable amount then it’s between you & the problem & how best to live life with it, remove it... or stay as you are but it’s a choice we wouldn’t have without Fitzwilliam & although I don’t always agree I think there doing what the NHS expects.

Andrew Crapper: Without the help of the wonderful, dedicated professionals at the Fitzwilliam centre I dread to think of how my life might be now. Addiction in all forms can cause devastation to users of this service and their families and friends. The constant help and continuing support provided by the Fitzwilliam Centre to service users in Sheffield often goes unrecognised by the wider community. I hope this review may help in some small way to give people suffering from the dreadful effects of substance misuse the courage they need to take the first tentative steps on the often long and difficult road to recovery and a better life.

N P C U Next Tuesday: No staff and half of them are not respectful and clearly look down on the patients. Its pot luck if you get a good worker.
