Giant Store Sheffield: what do users think?

Ben Walker: Having had a problem with an e-bike our purchased at another store, we sought some advice & help from Giant Sheffield branch. The service was excellent. Tony, Pete & Lisa were extremely friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. Despite them not stocking this particular bike, nothing was too much trouble for them. Our issue ended up being solved by them and we are very grateful. I previously bought some bike clothing from the same store and it was a similarly excellent level of service. We will continue to use this store and recommend it highly only to all our friends. Thanks Giant Sheffield!

Toby Hudson: I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Giant as my first road bike was an OCR about 15 years ago and it’s still going strong, but I wanted something with discs and mudguards. Andy, Tony and everyone else I spoke to there was really helpful in finding the perfect bike and getting it totally sorted and exactly as I wanted it with mudguards, different disc rotors and going tubeless. Big thanks to the chap whose name I unfortunately didn’t get, who helped me to the car around the corner despite it being past closing time. I couldn’t recommend the place highly enough.

Tom Nadin: Very happy with the service I received when choosing a road bike. All staff were helpful. In particular Jesse offered excellent advice when helping to choose my bike and some tips on maintenance after purchase.

razktrg: I bought a new chain online and tried to fix onto my bike. Wasn’t possible as the chain link was too stiff. I called Giant Sheffield and spoke to Jesse, he asked me to pop down to the shop. Only took him and the mechanic a few minutes to sort it out… Thanks guys

Ben Little: Always fantastic service! Bought an e-hardtail a week ago and the attention to detail with the setup and advice from Tony has been fantastic. Great quality bike and accessories.

Steve Layhe: Received fantastic service from Jesse at this store, every step of my purchase was handled expertly & professionally. I have been left feeling that if I have any issue whatsoever they will be more than happy to assist me further. Also price matched Evans for pedals and fitted them too, bike fully set and ready to go. Very good customer service. Very happy customer !

Janet McCabe: We just wanted to say thank you to Giant Store Sheffield, in particular for the help and very good advice we received from Tony, both when we first ordered a bike, keeping in contact regarding our order and in assessing and customising the bike when we recently collected it. He was exceedingly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. We would certainly recommend the store to others. Janet and Mike McCabe.

Cal I: Great service and a really friendly team. I picked up a new road bike and benefitted from loss of friendly advice from the team. Jessie offered to make a few tweaks to the bike whilst I was in store too to save me the trouble. Really good experience and will definitely prioritise the shop over online in future.
Andrew Skinner: Arranged to take two bikes in in the same day, one for a service one for a bike fit. The team over email couldn’t have been more helpful. And, the price if the fit was waaaay more reasonable than any other option I looked at.Service was carried out while I was getting fitted, and other than the unexpected (to me) of things like tyres and chains, was super-effective.The fit was good too - Jesse spent a good 90mins and more adjusting my position and analysing. Fair notice - there’s no computer or video component to this (reflective of the price perhaps) - it’s all angle measuring sticks and a laser line. That said, my position feels much improved, and with my degenerated saddle replaced I don’t get the numb undercarriage I went in complaining about! The biggest takeaway was feedback on my slumped position, with my shoulders doing all the supporting rather than my core.So yeah, great team, great customer service, great bike service, great fit and decent overall price. Definitely recommended.
M. Maguire: helpful, friendly service
Ian Singleton: I visited the Giant Bicycle Store Sheffield today (31.03.2023) for the first time. The reason for my visit was a bike fit. Not a Giant bike! I own a Ribble, I've been riding bikes for nearly 50 years and this was my first bike fit. I wasn't apprehensive but it did cross my mind if it was going to be worth the money. I entered the store and was met by friendly smiling faces, it was immediately clear that this was a welcoming shop and there was no elitist snobby atmosphere that can be experienced in some bicycle Shops. I was offered a cup of tea or coffee and the procedure of the bike fit was clearly explained to me by Tony, I was introduced to Jesse, the stores expert in bike fitting and I went off to get changed while Jesse fixed my bike to the turbo trainer. During the fitting Jesse was exceptional, he asked about my riding experience and what I had planned for the future, he listened to everything I had to say (I can rabbit on a bit!). He carried out measurements, explained what he would like to change, the reasons for it, what the benefits would be and if I was happy with that. After a while the bike started to feel very comfortable to the point that we agreed it would be better not to change anything else, for me to do a few rides and give some feed back in a couple of weeks. After the bike fit I had a look around the store and the huge variety of bikes and equipment they have. I was left alone without any of the staff hounding me trying to push for a sale something I find really off putting. Eventually I left the store with a smile on my face looking forward to the first ride on my expertly set up bike. I will definitely be visiting Giant Sheffield again. They have recruited a loyal customer and I recommend them to everyone, whether you're new to cycling looking to purchase your first bike or an old peddler like myself.
Paul (Clayman): I have been looking for a bike and have tried other cycle shops around the area and not one of them was as helpful as the staff in the Giant store especially Tony who spent ages with me explaining things about the bike. They even set one up for me lent me a helmet and let me test ride a bike to see if I liked it. Fantastic service above and beyond five stars are not enough.
Dan poulter: Great service, friendly and knowledgeable. Bike fit really good.
James David Smith: Did a full service of my road bike a few weeks ago. Needed various new parts. They did a great job and it feels like a brand new bicycle now.
andrew brewin: Had a great experience buying a new bike and getting it fit to me. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend the store.
Stuart Chaffe: I popped in for the first time today, the staff - Jake & Jesse, were amazing, so friendly and gave me so much advice. They managed to fix an issue with my bike - I’ll certainly be going back there for services and equipment / clothing in the future!
Augustinas Slučka: Very nice customer service. Always willing to help and relaxed vibe too. Bought a bike in 2017, still do maintenance with them. Might not be the cheapest in town, but definitely good quality. Also very respectful, unlike some bike shops in town 😁
Kevin Campbell: Popped into Sheffield branch with an obscure requirement. Great service from Tony - will continue to shop using LBS.
Emily J Electric: Just popped into Giant a I live locally and read online that they will fix things while you wait.. it turned out to be an easy fix which they did for free! Really generous and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Andrew Clayton: Great advice would have put deposit on a bike, but like all bike shops limited availability. Will hold off on the purchase until the right thing is available
razza: I bought a new chain online and tried to fix onto my bike. Wasn’t possible as the chain link was too stiff. I called Giant Sheffield and spoke to Jesse, he asked me to pop down to the shop. Only took him and the mechanic a few minutes to sort it out… Thanks guys
Weiwei en Sheff: Absolutely excellent, very reasonable price too, they got my Giant Propel problem solved in a a few minutes.
Martin Jones: Great shop... Great knowledgeable staff.
simon ryan: Yet again the amazing staff at Giant Sheffield sorted me out. A trip to Canada needed a bike box they even offered to strip the bike and put it into the box for me.I did need help putting my bike back together and they were only to happy to help.I've used this bike shop for 99.9% of my cycling kit from bikes to pedals to gels. I can honestly say they have never let me down on service or price.
Bev Randell-Eyre: Always great service and superb staff
jono dexter: Booked my bike in this morning for my headset to be looked at. The team were very helpful and was sorted with in minutes. Would highly recommend booking your giant in.

J E James Cycles - Sheffield: what do users think?

Joe Gray: Bought a bike a few years ago, no pressure, just wanted to get the bike that was right for me. Took it in some repairs (my fault, nothing wrong with the bike!) recently and repairs were quick and good value.

John Atack: I was sent to J E James in Sheffield by a nearby cycle shop who were unable to update the firmware on my two Specialized E bikes. My bikes were bought over the internet and not from J E James but even so I was made to feel welcome, important and valued. Adam explained that there may be connectivity issues with the Specialized but he would try his best for me. Both bikes were updated successfully and whilst Sheffield is not local to me I would not hesitate to return should I need any further updates, service or repairs. Many thanks Adam, you cheered me up after being very shabbily dealt with earlier in the day.

Ashley Morris: Came in today with a wheel which needed a new rear axle. The staff on advised the best option for me with finance in mind. They offered a new wheel which they then transfered my old parts to the new wheel for no extra charge. Great service much recommend
Nick Howarth: Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. Ordered a brompton through the green commute initiative. Dom helped me step by step through the process and was really helpful throughout. when the bike arrived I collected it from a lovely chap called Gav. He is apparently known as the brompton guru! He knew absolutely everything there is to know about them. All in all a brilliant service and i definitely recommend them.Cheers guys!
James Heppenstall: Great advice given and a large stock to choose from. Friendly staff as well
Sebastian Sturges: Stopped in for the first time and was immediately met with exceptional service. The mechanic was friendly, very knowledgeable (I was a mechanic for years, so can tell), and went out of his way to get my tubeless wheels set up and find some obscure small parts for me on the spot. Will definitely be my go-to spot now that I live in Sheffield.
Shaun Gadsby: Despite products showing in stock, they were not despatched for 4 working days, emailed them but didn't get a response.Product eventually came and was as described.
Peter Forbes: The Whole Team have been excellent in assisting me in my choice and purchase of a TREK E Bike All the process was smooth and straight forward In Particular Chris who built the Bike and his full explanation covering all aspects of the Bike, its operation including the tips of riding the Bike and how to look after it and maintain it Don for his recent work on fitting the extras and inspection which is part of the After SalesA Big Thank you to Mike and his Team.Forbesy P
Wayne Brown: Great customer service
Beverley Scott: I can't recommend J E James highly enough. Mike took over from another helpful guy and I found my electric bike. When the rain stopped I gave it a test drive - excellent. Mike reserved it for me as I wanted my son-in-law to give his opinion. Miketalked me through how to look after it over a coffee and the next day I bought it. Nothing was too much trouble. Dominic helped with the accessories and recommended a tow bar and bike rack which has proved to be brilliant. I'm now enjoying the freedom of cycling and am completely confident as I have proved my ebike can tackle all the Sheffield hills. It will soon need it's first 150 mile check just to make sure everything is running well which is all included in the initial cost. It's great to know that there is great back-up from the dedicated and friendly staff at J E James Sheffield.
Hannah Sewell: My e-bike needed a repair doing to the brakes which J E James did very quickly and a good price. Thank you to Domanic who did it within a few hours of me bringing it in and they let me book it in much quicker than other nearby bike shops.I also bought my e-bike from here a few years ago and they were very helpful then as well giving advice on what the different features meant. Great place with great customer service.
Alexandra Martin: Excellent service on my two trips to reccie and buy an e-bike. Phil on my first visit and then Mike on my second both spent time answering my many questions with patience and good humour. When I went to collect my bike Mike spent a long time taking me through it all and making sure I understood it. I was pleased that he did not in any way talk down to a seventy-something woman going electric! Here's hoping their after sales service is as good.
Rupert Allison: Brilliant service from an incredibly knowledgeable Dom. The guru fitting machine was great, especially for a pair of novices who know nothing about bikes! Dom made sure we were able to test many different bikes / settings and gave us loads of time and advice to be able to make a well-informed decision. Thank you!
kevin falkowski: Bought my New E Bike this week from J E James and The service I received from Mike /Phil and Don was Absolutely Excellent cant Rate these Guys Enough Definitely Highly Recommended 👍
Herts LocalReviews: AVOID! Ordered set of 4 chain links & received only 1 when I complained they altered the website and sent me image of new wording! I sent proof that they had changed the description & they then claimed that must have happened prior to my complaint, again I proved that the rwasn’t true & it was changed after I’d made complaint. They now say they have too many products to manage all the descriptions and rely on customers to highlight errors while hiding behind small print in their disclaimers.Their customer service is a disgrace.
Lorcan Howard: Took my bike in to fix up, the guys spent a good hour and a half of hard graft and problem solving to get my bicycle back on the road, amazing service!
Dave MTB Powell: Called in to the Sheffield ebike store today hoping to hire a kenevo sl with the intention of buying one if I liked it, but was pretty much turned around at the door with no help what so ever. I appreciate 3 days notice is usually needed but I'd of thought that somebody willing to spend £7000 on a bike would of at least been able to see one or sit on one in the shop, or offered one next week? Anything really! As we know bikes aren't selling at the minute and shops are struggling, seems odd to be turning people away like that.
mark murphy: Excellent experience buying a Trek Emonda. Really helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
Ian Carey: Good customer care and a friendly bunch.I had a few issues when I first used them, when I brought a new bike, but they were sorted out very satisfactorily.I have needed to get the bike sorted with some snagging issues and the workshop has been great. They have an extensive range of bikes, accessories & clothing.Highly recommended.
Kostas L: Great quality and very friendly service
Darren Cook: Amazing service and really helpful
Ruth Nicholson: I took my bike to be fixed at J E James in mid October and they eventually returned it to me at the end of November - still broken - with the suggestion of taking it to a different bike shop. After over a month of attempting to fix or replace my freehub they fobbed me off to another business who managed to get the work done in a day.During some of this time I was liaising with the wheel company regarding a warranty enquiry, so some of the delay came from that end too, but I only managed to receive updates about the repair when I called them or went into the shop in person. After waiting patiently one week after first taking it in to be inspected, I had to call them to find out what was going on, even though they said they'd call me as soon as they'd seen to it. It turned out they'd actually looked at it the same day!Once the warranty issue was sorted they told me they needed to wait to order a specific tool to do the work. The next time I called they said they were now waiting for new bearings to arrive. Eventually I went back into the shop and they handed back the wheel and all the parts they'd originally taken off several weeks previously, telling me they didn't have the right tool and couldn't do the job. I wish they'd been honest about their ability or desire to do the repair in the first place because they delay meant I was without my bike - my primary means of transport - for six weeks.Based on this experience I would recommend seeking out alternative bike shops in Sheffield - JE James were not proactive or honest in their customer service and dealing with them was not a positive experience.
John Green: Needed my e-bike looking at but wasn't sure if this was possible as it was new years eve. Took it to J E James in Sheffield not expecting much but can I just say I was blown away with the service and knowledge that I was greeted by. Can not praise Mike enough for his knowledge, professionalism andPrompt service.
Ramzan Idris: I find the Sheffield store really arrogant and unhelpful, it’s as though they are not interested, I’ve spent 1000’s here on e bikes but when you need help support or guidance they are not interested, service department just not interested. Rang Chesterfield branch and they were absolutely fantastic, took my number, found what I needed, rang me back and ordered it. Really helpful.

Evans Cycles: what do users think?

Chris Owen: I’ve just picked up a new bike with the cycle to work scheme and the whole team were brilliant. There were a lot of bits to sort but Ben and the team were excellent and made it very simple to sort. It was first new bike in 20+ years and Ben was very patient to show me how the new tech worked which was very helpful. Great experience - thank you!

Christopher Brown: Decent bike shop with a huge range. Staff are a bit hit and miss but if you are in the market for a new bike its as good a place to start as any. Cycle to work schemes usually work with Evans as well.

Will Reilly: This is an excellent bike shop. The mechanics in here are always very helpful, very honest and reasonable with their prices. I cycle alot and am lucky to have this place as my local bike shop. The team will always fix my bike quickly for a very good price.
Leostanbob: Absolute joke of a company

Damian Steel: Bought a £4500 bike last week, rear brake went to the bars on 3rd ride l, less than a week later, so clearly letting air in. Sheffield store wouldn't even look at it for 1.5 weeks..Took it to the Nottingham branch who fixed it in 20 mins while I waited.Notts branch Sheffield branch.
david fong: Brought a bike with suspicious brakes into evans and was seen by isaac - rather than keep me off the road for weeks, he was able to assess, diagnose and treat the problem in less than ten minutes, and didn’t charge me for his time - fantastic and very much appreciated!
Nadim Zaman: I purchased my bike from Evans in Dec 2019. The service was excellent from James. I’ve visited the store a few times since most recently in Feb 2023. Most recently I was looked after by George. The staff at this store are very knowledgeable, friendly and really take their time to explain things to you. Definitely recommend this store.
mel smith: Had an e bike bought me as a retirement present from halfords but couldnt get on with the saddle .. had to buy one from amazon as halfords didn't stock oversize ones i visited my local branch and asked them to swap saddles over to be told it cant be done because a bracket was welded to new saddle plus other complications .. so i visited evans cycles on queens road sheffield and explained my predicament.. in little under 10 min it was sorted .. found my go to cycle shopThanks lads
John Hand: The store manager - Ben was a great help to me regarding choosing the right bike.
David Dixon: Lovely staff very helpful, jake was very helpful and patient with explaining the importance of the right part for the bike is so important. Thanks Dave
June Burke: Appalling. Failed to deliver a bike we ordered then failed to process a refund.

Alexandra Wrigley: Brilliant customer service. Ben the manager was excellent. Highly recommended
Tim: Fantastic we ended up buying a bike there and much friendlier than the bike shop up the road JE James

Langsett Cycles Ltd: what do users think?

Mia Rafalowicz-Campbell: The team at Langsett are friendly and very helpful. They sold me my trusty ebike at the end of last year, and they’ve sorted any issues that have come up along the way, including sourcing a new battery when mine got stolen. They work quickly too. Definitely recommend!

Aaron Spotswood: That shop Been fix my bike that go different more smooth look like there have high quality I really happy with that is amazing if I go something happens with my bike I will go there in future great cycle shop than halfords at Hillsborough!

Daniela Schwendener: Wonderful staff who helped me out when I realised (very last-minute) that I wasn’t able to get the pedals off my bike in preparation for my trip. I arrived at the shop in a panic and they were able to sort it for me right away. Excellent and friendly service!

David Dungworth: Great shop for MTB and Road. They managed to fit my wheel in for repair at short notice. The staff have a great range of knowledge.

Eliot Collins: Prices and styles of bicycle to suit all budgets and requirements. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable.

Pat Glanfield: Independent cycle store in Sheffield. I have been looking for an electric bike for a while, but owing to my height ( or lack of it 🤔) I thought is was impossible. However, that was before I met Paul, at Langsett cycles, and he managed to find me the perfect fit!! When I arrived I thought the shop was closed, as it seemed boarded up! But, they were "ram raided" just before Christmas and are having to cope until insurance sorted and repairs done. So, even though working in less than optimal conditions, Paul was so helpful. Big thanks to you, Paul, and your colleagues. 👍

Jeff C: Just a fabulous experience. After being told somewhere else my bike wasn’t worth repairing, I brought it here and by the end of the next afternoon it was as good as new, with new parts at a very reasonable price! Very friendly and an all-round easy and enjoyable experience. Very highly recommended for servicing!
Sean Parkin: I thought we were meant to use local shops for more friendly, better service? Hah.Recently (elsewhere) purchased a £1600 gravel bike, and on taking it down to them to look at buying some extra kit including panniers etc, found their service to be condescending, unhelpful and expensive.Literally got laughed at for asking about dyno hubs, because “they’re for serious cyclists who might do multi day bikepacking trips”, and not “casual commuters”.Ended up at Decathlon - MUCH friendlier and way better value.
Shaun Moulds: First class, one of the guys dropped what he was doing to help and you can't say fairer than that.Edit- I've now been coming here for a year and have only ever had a 1st class service.
James Brown: Super friendly and super helpful guys. Proving there is still a place and indeed a need for local knowledgeable bike shops. Even got a brew.. Brilliant service, brilliant people..
Ian Dimmock: Came in looking for a particular set of headset bearings. The workshop couldn't be more helpful. 👍
Steven Nisbett: Took my MTB in for a service, needing it returned asap as I'm moving away. I got it back in more than enough time, and it's feels like a brand-new bike. Brilliant!
David Dungworth: Great shop for MTB and Road. They managed to fit my wheel in for repair at short notice. The staff have a great range of knowledge.
Martin Jones: Great shop... Great knowledgeable staff...
Vipul “Ramjo” Ramjiani: Not a particularly friendly or flexible service. Changed £10 to loosen a cassette. Weren't willing to do the job whilst I was there, despite calling beforehand. Had to come back 30 minutes later to collect the wheel for a job which takes 10seconds at most.
Simon Temple: Helpful advice about buying a new replacement bike
Derek Robinson: On the the Comute home, experienceda bottom bracket problem, despite being busy they fitted a new one while I waited.
James Wilson: I developed a flat on my tubeless front tyre. I called Evans but they didn't have any sealant in stock and as I couldn't wait I decided to book in with Langsett. Evans had previously replaced my rear tyre that I'd provided and replaced the rim tape and sealant which they provided at a cost of £15. Imagine my disgust when Langsett repaired my front and told me it'd be £48.98! They tried justifying this price by telling me the materials were £23.98, 10 yards of rim tape is about £10 and a full bottle of sealant which will do upto 8 tyres is £15 so I'm not sure what I've been charged for with their outrageous price. They also said that it'd taken them over an hour to do the job, bare in mind it took Evans 15 mins whilst I waited so I can't help but think I've been over charged in labour costs due to Langsetts incompetence! I'm sure Langsett will give some rediculous reply but I'd encourage you to fact check what I've said for yourselves. Give Evans a call and ask them for a price to replace rim tape and reseal a tyre on a 27.5" MTB tyre and they'll tell you they'll do it whilst you wait at a cost of £15 with all materials provided. Or maybe you'd rather take it to Langsett and they'll charge you the best part of 50 quid and it'll take them hours!?
Anthonia O.: Only leaving one star because I can't leave zero. Walked in to the store during the first lockdown September 2020. I will never forget how I was ignored by the store attendants. They didn't seem to want to help me because maybe I didn't look like their typical customers. I knew nothing about bicycles and needed help with something I can begin with and wouldn't be too expensive either. I was tossed aside and I've never felt so invisible. Will never be crossing their path in my existence again. Only leaving this review now because I came across the business on Google.
Lindsey Bielby: I've purchased two bikes from Langsett Cycles in the past 6 months and I couldn't speak highly enough of them. They worked hard in difficult (Covid = few bikes around) to find the perfect bike in time for my son for Christmas and recommended the perfect bike for me which I picked up last week. The staff went the extra mile to make sure I left the shop with new bikes and a smile on my face. This is the only place I would buy a bike from.
Steve Watson: Not in a rush to go back, not particularly friendly. They know what they are doing, just don't seem that bothered about customer service. I was going to buy a few bits today, but after collecting a wheel, I decided not to.
Dan DJ: Excellent and friendly service.
Susan Veall: 100% welcoming & friendly staff always brilliant service Always willing to go that extra mile
Matthew R Cooper: The customer service at Langsett is consistently bad, I've been a customer for over a decade so I should know, but my latest experience is the worst yet.On collection of the bike I recently ordered I wasn't offered a test ride. No one checked if I was happy with the bike or gave me any advice. I had to ask the staff to lower the saddle so I could ride it home. At first I didn't even know how to change gear, having never ridden that style of bike before. After three 20 minute test rides I decided I didn't like the bike at all. I explained the situation and Langsett offered me £300 less than I paid for it in store credit. The bike is still in perfect condition, I have no doubt they could resell it at full price. Clearly The staff don't care about customers, only profit. The staff are never welcoming or helpful, a combination of a poor communication skills and a vaguely condescending manner makes shopping at Langsett something to be endured rather than enjoyed. Avoid if you can.
Matthew Vickers: Excellent service.

Russell's Bicycle Shed: what do users think?

John Naylor: Best bike repair in Sheffield. Mega-knowledgeable, super-efficient and they charge a fair price.

G M: Called in on the off chance during a ride out. My brakes where a bit rubbish and grating on my old Dawes Giro Road Bike. Any chance of sorting these out?? Yeah sure; I can have a quick look today but I’m away for the weekend. A quick fiddle, prod and poke. There’s something not happy with the back brake cable and housing. I’m thinking this is someone that cares. Right then… I ask roughly how much to sort out the brakes, new cables, housing and bar tape. Nice Happy Quote 😀 Call back Wednesday he says. I call in Wednesday. Wednesday = Job done. Perfect brakes, lovely yellow bar tape and exactly as per quote. Local Bike Shops are often better than big named stores and this one proved it. He told me what it was, how much it could be and he told me when it would be ready. Honest quote and good work. Great Job🤘 Thanks 🙏

Robin Denton: Excellent service and enthusiastic, knowledgeable staff. I went there to purchase a bike for leisure and exercise after just having moved to Sheffield. The 30 day returns period meant that I had time to get the feel of the bike (and riding it in a new area) and I actually ended up coming back to purchase an upgrade. The prices here are very reasonable, and the staff are so kind as to perform minor servicing free of charge (inflating tires, adjusting bike components). I will definitely be returning here for any future bicycle needs that I may have.

Lotte Neil: Russell was so lovely & helpful when I bought a bike today! I went to Halfords beforehand and the difference in customer service was huge. Halfords was trying to get as much money as they could out of me, but Russell actually suggested a cheaper bike than the one I was looking at because it was better suited for me. Very happy!

stella burton: Really helpful and excellent service, Russell spent time explaining options to improve the comfort of my bike. Prompt service and very reasonable price too. Would thoroughly recommend

Hiren Hingu: Nice Experience. Russell has heart of a Gem...purchased second hand bike from here for the first time in the UK.
Ioana Sache: After trying to ring numerous times and there being no answer, I eventually got a callback and booked in my bike for a simple £20 service. Dropped her off on a Friday afternoon and was told she would be ready by Sunday latest and that someone would be in touch to let me know so I could pick her up. Tried to ring all Sunday, no answer. Tried Monday only to find they’re closed while Thursday. No communication about the delay, no expectation set about it taking it longer than initially stated, no apology. Left them a message through their website (as I literally couldn’t get in touch any other way and I don’t do social media) on the Thursday when they reopened only to be told ‘sorry your bike was actually ready on Sunday but we forgot to call you to let you know’ and blamed it on them being ‘busy’ - despite the shop being dead each time I went in and everytime I walk past (I live in the neighbourhood). If you’re ‘too busy’ to be bothered to call a customer, either reconsider your practices, or, get more staff. I was also told in an indirect way it was my fault for not sending them a message sooner to check my bike was ready. Silly me, I should know better, its obviously my job to do theirs. Seriously?! Since when is the onus on the paying customer to chase a service?!?! No apology or any acknowledgement when I went to pick her up. Beyond disgusted. Will not make the mistake of using this shambolic place again.
Rod Ismay: Excellent bike service. Always a warm welcome. Today it was my chainset and canti brakes that needed sorting. Russ had them fixed in a flash. And we put the world to rights at the same time. Please do pop in. Bikes to buy, services to be had and bike parts to delight. Moreover Russ's cargo bike delivery service could be just the thing your business needs. Urban deliveries without the faff of traffic jams and parking.
Oliver Pickford: Extremely kind staff that provide fast, cheap and great quality service.
Celia Clarke: I've been a few times and half the time I come away having paid nothing, yet they've resolved the issue. And they're happy to give out advice which is great.
Alex Raisbeck: Great and super friendly service, got everything I wanted sorted for a really reasonable price, will definitely be coming back in the future
Daniel Roberts: My bike needed a few tweaks so i called in towards the end of a ride on the off chance the guys could have a look at it and they couldn’t have been more helpful, and sorted it out. Thanks guys!
G M: Called in on the off chance during a ride out. My brakes where a bit rubbish and grating on my old Dawes Giro Road Bike.Any chance of sorting these out?? Yeah sure; I can have a quick look today but I’m away for the weekend.A quick fiddle, prod and poke. There’s something not happy with the back brake cable and housing.I’m thinking this is someone that cares.Right then…I ask roughly how much to sort out the brakes, new cables, housing and bar tape.Nice Happy Quote 😀Call back Wednesday he says.I call in Wednesday.Wednesday = Job done.Perfect brakes, lovely yellow bar tape and exactly as per quote.Local Bike Shops are often better than big named stores and this one proved it.He told me what it was, how much it could be and he told me when it would be ready.Honest quote and good work.Great Job🤘Thanks 🙏
Chris: Excellent service. Short turn around for bike servicing (less than 2 days). The work that had been performed was fully explained, and advice given on future bike care.
Samantha Samantha: No hard sell, just attentive, informed, patient great customer care and guidance. Some of the second hand bikes might not look flashy, but you won't be sold one that hasn't had a full service and in great condition, and if you explain what you will use the bike for, what you want from it, then you will be honestly told if the best thing for you isn't in stock. That happened to me and I waited until more stock came in rather than going elsewhere because I felt that I could trust the advice.I was also told it would be better NOT to buy the helmet there and to go where there are more brands to choose from and try them all one until I found the right fit for me.. I ignored that advice and bought one there because it seemed a good fit, and it's a business I feel good for supporting.A very fair price for outstanding service and a bike you can trust and have faith in.3mth guarantee, and a buy back scheme after that.
Cheryl Myers: Very friendly member of staff. Explained what he would be doing
Malcolm Carline: Awesome little bike shop of second hand bikes and parts. Has some new parts too. Definitely a place to visit if your into fixing you own bike or looking for someone knowledgeable to fix it for you. A++ can't recommend enough. Thank you Russel 👍
Ben Rayner: Sorted out my gears and brake bads on the same day I took it in. Efficient turnaround and very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely go back in the future
Saleh Bin Hadi: Excellent service, fair price and kind gentlemen. I’ve used this bike shop more than once professional, highly recommended 👍🏻
Phil Jones: Really great second hand bike shop that does repairs and servicing. Friendly, helpful staff. Would recommend
Sol Loreto-Miller: The Neepsend branch is my favourite bike shop ever, and I trust them completely; any bike I've taken there they've not only improved but also helped me work out what the real problem was (often something different to what I first thought!). It's great to know of bike repair people who are both amazing at their job and willing to spend time making sure the interested customer actually understands what's going on. I've tried several bike shops in Sheffield and would recommend Russels Bicycle Shed Neepsend above and beyond all the others. Reliable, friendly, efficient and fantastic value for the quality of work that they do. Thanks folks!
Colin Booth: Excellent service, super friendly staff. I booked my bike to be repaired on the day (which was a Saturday) and it was fixed the same day. Very reliable

Tony Butterworth Cycles: what do users think?
Jon Matthews: Great place for spares and friendly advice
Caroline Thomas: Had a large service, very pleased with the quality of the work and price. Bike is 5 years old but feels brand new again with way more effective breaks. Will definitely use again in future
Gavin Williams: How many other bike shops are run by Green Party Councillors? Not many, I'd imagine. There are plenty of in shop options here, plus you can order specific items for collection. One word of warning - it is a busy workshop, but they work really hard to get you sorted out as quickly as possible.
Lukasz Kostiuczuk: Great and nice service and very helpful, fast, cheap, great contact, I recommend
Orson in charge: Best LBS in Sheffield . Repairs are done with Yorkshire care and precision , you can feel the passion . 10/10
Lee Simcox: 3 times now I’ve used Butterworths and not a positive outcome any of the times !Firstly fixed a few broke spokes and they only lasted a week ! They also said it would be ready in two days I was 4 before I heard anything ! Not a call or update at allI then had the full wheel rebuilt then that’s broke again! So feel it’s not good workmanship at allThirdly I had a bottom bracket replaced which seems to be ok ! But on doing this repair they did not call me to say the front derailer was bent so simply but the bottom bracket on and let me leave the shop my gears are awful now ! So rather than doing the repair then I would have to take it back and be without the bike even longer ! Overall very unhappy with the service provided I wouldn’t go back
Martyn Eggleton: Henry and the whole team are brilliant. Their advice and expertise is a constant, and their prices are competitive. My bike is currently better than when I got it.
Matthew Wright: I'm a long time customer. Have bought a bike from here, had services done, just had wheels built to order, two day service. Always great service, friendly, honest, reliable. Definitely recommended. 👌
Andrew Cater: Great local.bike shop, friendly with lots of stock options.
Scott Rushworth: Called in today 30/9/22 as my chain snapped on a ride out, they sorted my bike out and it’s never rode so good. Excellent customer service the bike was sorted in less than a hour (not just a new chain) great price absolutely over the moon thank you guys
Nick Hoyland: Great service as ever and quick turn around cant fault them
Ed Maguire: Great service from a independent shop.
annette a: Great service, knowledgeable staff
Mick Coles: Happy to travel from one side of the city to the other to have our bikes serviced and fixed here. And super happy to recommend them to each and all.
Steve Irvine: Fantastic to have such great bike shop on my doorstep. The guys are always so generous with their time and advice.
Decklan Rodgers: Brilliant bunch of guys, always helpful one of the best local shops going :)
Betty-Ann Hutchin: This is such a great Cycle Shop. Henry and Mike and the other staff members are always so helpful and great at explaining things. I was buying a 20in Squish child's bike today for use at our Balance Bike/Learn to Pedal sessions on a Saturday morning at Forge Valley School in Stanington. I am absolutely delighted with it. It is a lovely purple colour!! Highly recommend Tony Butterworths in Hillsborough.I was back in today to buy a 24inch Squish bike which will be perfect for our Learn to Ride sessions at Forge Valley School in Stannington! It is such a great bike shop and everyone is so nice. Definately worth a visit!!
