Angel Granger: Went on a Saturday evening, quite busy on arrival but a few available tables. Unfortunately we were seated just outside the toilets with no other diners so the atmosphere was lacking as well as distracting having a large amount of people walk past (no smell though or I would have asked to move). Were offered drinks and table water which was nice. Ordered food but had been at our table a good 45 mins before our starter of oysters arrived, but the mains soon followed and were lovely. Looked fantastic, good size portions and tasted very good. We will visit again as the staff were fantastically friendly and attentive and the menu looks so tasty. I will ask to be in the main room next time though. Vegetarian options: There were a few veggie options.

Hushnara Begum: I have eaten at ‘Butcher and Catch’ a few times and would regard this restaurant as one of my favourite places to eat in Sheffield. Food has always been awesome, served quickly and lovely staff. Just an easy, relaxing place to eat with a great menu and fairly priced!
Adam: I had a very pleasant trip to Butcher and Catch this weekend. I started off with the cheese fondue which is essentially a baked camembert, with a supply of tasty bread, potato’s and tomatoes for dipping…. You can’t really go wrong. My main course consisted of halibut and clams seasoned very nicely and I finished with a Bailey’s and chocolate dessert. This last dish was probably the only course I would like to see some improvement to as I struggled to taste the Baileys. Overall a great place to visit considering the prices.
Rhys Powell: Fantastic place to go either as large parties or small groups. Our food was flawless and so was the service, shout out to Jack our server who made sure we we’re well looked after. 10/10 would come back in a heartbeat. Best steaks we’ve EVER had and will be back soon

We also had the starter special of beef arancini and pork shoulder bao. The steak was a bit tough and pork a tad bit sweet, but otherwise satisfying meal.

Isobel Curry: I was so ready to love Butcher & Catch because of the great reviews but left really disappointed. It took 45 minutes to bring us our two medium rare steaks, one of which was raw and the other was well done but they took so long to come we just ate them. Overall it took us 2 hours to get 2 courses on a Sunday night with a very empty restaurant. Food was very average, high prices did not reflect the quality of the meal at all and the service was pretty slow. I hate when you have to go to the bar to pay because you can’t find your waiter. Sorry Butcher and Catch but wouldn’t go again :/ (also not the staff’s fault but an open kitchen does not work when the chef is shouting orders at the cooks for the whole restaurant to hear, kind of ruins the atmosphere)

Andrew Smith: The roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and veg were nice but the real star of the show was the gravy. Beefy and just the right consistency plentiful and tasty. There is limited availability on the roast dinners so don't leave your sitting too late and regular menu is much more pricey.The Sticky Toffee Pudding is included in a dessert and coffee offer but it's the only dessert included in the offer. The pudding itself is basic but the sauce is again the star and worth the price of admission on its own.Service is friendly but slow with only two people on the floor serving and seemingly two in the kitchen. Still the food is worth the wait and since it was a Sunday it was not as if I was in a rush.
Tabitha Roach Osborne: We had heard good things about this place, and had been wanting to try it for ages. We were left a little disappointed. The food is expensive but nice, just a bit overpriced for what it was, but the staff were lovely which was a saving grace. Sadly, we both had extremely bad food poisoning all weekend after having the oysters, which we're both still not fully recovered from a few weeks later. On telling the restaurant that we were ill the next day, they just defended themselves and didn't offer us an apology or any money back for the meal, which I thought was in pretty bad taste. I have a friend who is a food quality tester who informed us that with that sort of food poisoning (vibrio) we could have been seriously ill. Needless to say we won't be returning.

Sarah: Went on Thursday for a work Christmas meal. The restaurant was freezing and not appropriately heated. The staff couldn't do anything (not their fault) so we sat there in coats and scarves warming hands over the tea light on the table. Food almost all came stone cold. Some parties sent it back. I wish I had because I'm now suffering with food poisoning. Such a shame as the menu makes it look like it will be amazing. I won't be going again though.

Sam Spires: We visited miller and carter for our valentines meal. The food is simply amazing, we had the fillet rare and it was absolutely sensational. Furthermore both our starters and desert were tasty, and the valentines offer was really good value for money! The reason I am leaving 4 stars rather than 5 is that I have received numerous emails and texts reminding of the dress code. However inside the restaurant it was not being enforced, sat opposite us someone was wearing a tacky t-shirt, behind us someone wearing a hoodie and in the bar area we saw someone in sports trainers. We do not mind following a dress code, but what is the point of having one when you clearly are not enforcing it?

Lyn Mawson: From the moment we walked in, we had a very pleasant experience. Only booked online 1 hour before going, was asked if it was a special occasion and it was our 33rd wedding anniversary so mentioned this. We were treated to a plate wishing us a happy anniversary and a glass of prosecco each, which was a lovely touch. Adam our server was very attentive, he explained everything was in shock although they had limits on certain items. We both and steak which was cooked perfectly, not quite sure of the onion loaf though we it was not unpleasant. Adam checked back with us a few times, but not in that awkward way as some places. Overall it was a lovely meal and I am looking forward to going back

Brigid D: Not worth the price. The maple chicken dish had broccoli underneath a huge bit of chicken which made the broccoli taste bad. We also asked for a medium steak and received a well done steak.The vegan burgers were great though and the service was good too with lovely servers and they ended up taking the steak off the bill which was appreciated.

Lovely celebratory meal with good friends and our kids for the end of SATS. Even went as far as writing "well done on your SATS" in chocolate sauce on the the desert plate.

Jon Sim: Really attentive staff and food was faultless. Had butchers block and every cut was perfect. CJ really looked after us and had tables cleared within minutes of finishing a course and even went out of their way to find us a quiet table as we had a newborn. Really enjoyed our visit and will be booking again.
Andrew Read: You can't beat a good steak and I always have a good steak from M&C. Waitress was absolutely brilliant too and took good care of us. Only thing I would say is that my old man had the sea bass and was massively underwhelmed, but that was his food not mine and it serves him right for not having a steak when that is what they specialise in. The dirty burgers went down a treat too 👍

Steven Williams: Another excellent Meal at Miller & Carter, Ecclesall Road South in Sheffield.There is Parking at the front if you come from the Sheffield City side but I have always parked at the rear turning left into the car park, just after the restaurant entrance.I had booked online and as soon as we arrived, we were seated at our table.Whilst it was a busy Friday night the service could not be faltered.May not have been the best choice of starter when having a large main course, but the Cheesy Garlic Bread to share was inviting for us both.My partner having the 12oz Sirloin with the three peppercorn sauce. I was tempted by the 16oz Ribeye with beef dripping sauce. We both went for the chunky chips and were served with onion loaf.Whilst only wanting a couple of other sides we were swayed by the choice of three for £10. So, we had, mac and cheese, garlic button mushrooms and sautéed greens.It was a great meal with a couple of coffees to finish.I know they have delightful desserts but that would have been overindulgent.Parking: Parking to both the front and rear of the premises

He helped us with our selection by recommending what sauses to have,We usually go to Miller and Carter Sherwood Forest but would recommend this one and would definitely visit again.We had the 30-day aged chateaubriand 16oz, and it just melted in our mouths, we also had the 3 for £10 sides. We had macaroni cheese, onion loaf, and garlic mushrooms. All cooked to perfection.we accompanied our meal with a bottle of the house rioja.My only downside to our visit was that the meal wasn't very hot, so it got cold quickly. I had to send the fries back as they were cold when they came out. But this didn't ruin a great evening and meal with great company.

Everything served piping hot and cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend the Butchers Block. Will definitely recommend to all and will revisit.
Vic: 5 stars all around. They have a steak expert to help you with the options of how well cooked you wanted your steak (also happens with the dirty burger). It is a bit pricey (which is expected of a steak place) but every penny is worth it. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. I didn't get a dessert but they all looked amazing and well done.Vegetarian options: Limited veggie options (to be expected)
Daphne D: I didn’t have a good time there because I was being asked to show my ID and I didn’t bring it with me as I’m 37!!! Not 17!!! I can’t believe as my age I’m not allowed to have wine at your restaurant and you don’t accept my ID photo either!! That affected everything, I didn’t enjoy the food and the tables are to close to each other we could hear everything from next tables, and the smell in the restaurant was not pleasant. I won’t go back and I don’t recommend this place.

I tried the Bailey special cocktail which was a disaster.I do understand that is a new venue and needs lots of work but as a customer what you pay is not worth this experience.I will stick with the one on Eccy Rd.

Small thing, but the glasses and cutlery were also sparkling clean. So nice to drink out of a wine glass without water marks on it! Alfie kendall: Me and my girlfriend went here yesterday, the food was amazing and lived up to the expectations that were set. A big thank you goes out to our server Annabelle, she was so kind and made us feel welcome with the friendly chat. She asked about any dietary recommendation ls before starting and after taking our order she spoke it back to us to make sure she got it right before leaving the table. Definitely be coming back soon.

Charlotte Batchelor: Me and my boyfriend went for a date night for the first time and we can not recommend this place any better. The food and drinks were immaculate and there was no faults whatsoever. The presentation of the food on the plate was placed well. We had a lovely host whose name was Ruben (butler) and he did a splendid job. Always asking how everything was and how we was. He was always making sure we had a drink as we brought a bottle of wine so our glass was never empty. We will definitely be going there again. Will definitely recommend to other people. There was no faults or any criticism that we could give to make this place better.

Mae L: Took my girlfriend for her birthday. Despite not mentioning to the restaurant that it was a special occasion, they ensured to ask and gave us a complimentary bowl of ice cream. The servers were great and occasionally checked to see if we were ok. Although, the guy at the front desk who wore a grey suit gave us quite a bad impression with his greeting us while chewing and showing no smiles or a welcoming behaviour. We had had fillet mignon from the set meal which we found to be great value for money. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection which is important for a steakhouse. However, the prawn and crab cocktail we ordered from the a la carte menu tasted horrible. The taste is exactly the smell of the seafood section in the supermarket. Frozen prawns. It was served in a fancy looking plate with salad and not at all like a prawn cocktail that you would expect, which made it seem like a way to increase the price that it did not deserve at all.

Christine Wilson: First time visiting and it was quite disappointing 😕Booked a table for 6:00 p.m. arrived around 6:10 to be told they were 15 minutes behind. I assumed that meant the table would be ready for 6:15. Unfortunately we weren't called until 6:30!It was extremely busy and noisy. The food was delicious when it arrived, but the water we asked for, didn't come. We had to ask for it again and it arrived as we got the bill.We were extremely rushed as we had booked into the arena and was almost late for that.I got the impression they had taken too many bookings and couldn't fulfill them all. 🙄

Hazel Smith: Well don’t go !!! After booking for 2 birthdays for 6 adults and 4 children. What can I say the meal was awful I have never given a negative review or never not left a tip but this is on another level of feeling ripped off. We were asked to pre order our food before our Sunday evening visit, there were a handful of other guest in the restaurant we waited a while for starters very mediocre to say the least, then mains were absolutely awful steaks not cooked as asked for , the chicken had a really strange texture to it making it inedible all served on cold plates so food was cold too. My grandson ordered chicken crunch to start with and when his main meal came chicken Goujons it was the exact same as his starter. Very very disappointed as this was a family celebration I told the waitress how disappointed we were I did actually feel sorry for the staff they seemed to be over stretched even though there weren’t many people eating. They did take the kids meals off the bill and we didn’t stay for the desert we won’t be back. Jay Badenhorst: This is supposed to be a steakhouse. Right... I ordered the rib eye medium. They could not do mixed veg so ordered spinach and peas to do it own mixed veg. The steak arrived and was blue and really tough and stringy. They have obviousliously not prepared nor cooked the meat properly. I could not eat it so sent it back. The waiter said that they will cook my meat more. I said thanks but I'm not eating that piece that was not the quality I would expect. Another piece of rib eye arrived. Sigh... rare stake. Ok... I'll try eating it but it was so tough and stringy you could not cut it. Even with a steak knife... because the chips were on my plate it wasn't returned so had to ask for more. It arrived but at this point I have given up with the steak. I sent it back again and told them I don't want a replacement. I ordered gnocchi instead - staying well cleared from anything meat. Surely they could not mess this up. Erm... snotty gnocchi arrived soaked in what tasted like canned tomato gravy. Not nice. I also asked for parmesan... never arrived. I had to use cutlery which I took from the table next to me. There was also flies. Urgh.... Annoying whilst eating... Marco PW would hang his head in shame. Would not eat her again. Ever, not any other MPW restaurant frankly...

Arch: Awful, DO NOT GO. Made the mistake of not checking the reviews, don’t believe the good ones. Atmosphere was grim, felt like a mix between a funeral and a gta loading screen. Food was bad/mediocre, especially for the price you pay. Website says they have a range of cocktails, they don’t do cocktails. Service was ok but not very attentive. Also the calamari was just squid rings, literally no batter on them like how do you mess that up so badly. If I could give this minus stars I would but 1 star is the lowest they go.

thomas chambers: What a shambles! I have never in my life had such a terrible steak!! Myself, my father and a friend visited for dinner. Starters of calamari and scotch egg where very nice and we where anticipating a nice steak . NOT THE CASE !! 2 medium rare sirloin came ,both came v v well done , I asked the waitress to change as can't eat overdone due to digestive problem which she did . She only came back with my father's steak vv w/d and gave to me . ☹️ At this point I got a bit annoyed , being a chef myself I was flabbergasted how this was happening. They replaced the 2 pieces of fallout with one medium rare ( father) and another fallout disaster for me . So after 3 attempts I gave up . Later while at the bar in the hotel I see the problem , the chef/ cook/ porter looked intoxicated. MPW group need to address this issue . I have eaten numerous times in other outlets and always great standards . The only nice thing about the experience was the waitress who only a student handled it very professionally and deserves a commendation .

When I told the server at the end that the food was great it was just very slow to come out, she said oh sorry I should of mentioned it’s freshly cooked to serve, I mean I expect that but I don’t think it takes that long to cook lamb. However, the food was not as described on the menu and when it was sent back for replacement, the original food was just disguised as a fresh meal, including warming up my soured cream. Couldn't eat any of it for fear of food poisoning. Very disappointing experience. Left hungry. I dont usually mind paying over the odds for pub grub if it is good but will not be returning. I will stick to the Three Magpies in future

Shane Kaye: Ordered the first round of drinks which took a while then we ordered our meal including starters which took over 30 minutes to arrive, then the mains were about 20 minutes after we had finished. The presentation & quality was poor, my wife had fish & chips which she she said was mediocre, I tried the chips which were chokingly dry & the peas were dry & tasteless.I had chicken & pork ribs which was bland & un inviting, the staff seemed friendly enough but forgot our third round of drinks & forgot my request of bbq sauce to make my meal a bit easier to digest. It may be a mistake to be able to see the food being prepped & watching kitchen staff just drop food on plates then swap it around by hand to different plates !!! I don’t know if they were understaffed in the kitchen tonight but service was slow & seemed a bit un presentable.

Having originally got a groupon voucher for mid week brunch value £20 on booking was told they were not doing brunch anymore so if we wanted to pay £15 we could book for evening meal. But out side the restaurant there was a sandwich board which was advertising Sunday Brunch for £7 ? When bill arrived we had an extra charge of £23.65 for the meal. We paid but won’t be going again

mark hornsby: Popped in today on our way home and it was quiet so we were seated immediately. Our server, Millie, was excellent throughout, nothing was too much trouble. Our food arrived promptly and was top notch. My mozzarella sticks were gorgeous, especially with the BBQ sauce they kindly swapped from the marinara that I don't like. My main was a glazed cheeseburger with bacon and it was the best, tastiest, burger I've had in a long time. The pot of glaze to dip it in was gorgeous. I'd recommend double dipping with BBQ sauce, the taste was amazing! My daughter had the hotdog and she loved it. It looked so good I wanted it! My wife's starter was chicken strip's while her main was Ribs and she thoroughly enjoyed the lot.Overall we had a great time at TGI Friday's and will definitely be returning the next time we're in Sheffield.

Michael Dexter: Excellent decor and atmosphere, staff were great, friendly and attentive. Beer was good, service was quick and the overall experience was good. I did knock a star off for the food, it's average price for this sort of place and was nice enough, but it's like all chains, it just didn't seem quite as good as it reads on the menu. Absolute top marks to Gabby our waitress, first day on the job and aced it in every way.
