Peak Underbank Residential & Activity Centre, Sheffield: what do users think?

Katie Haxby: James, Nathan, Megan, Aiden and Morgan were amazing for our school group. Our coach was over three hours late and James and his team stayed and kept the children entertained and had great games good to go. James drove one of our staff to pick up some food for our group too. The activities were fantastic and the children learned so much. Thank you to the whole team!

jumbo lox: Love this place , perfect for walking, fishing, and kayaks, the centre is so helpful and have loads of activities available.

Alignsports Holistic: The girls had a fantastic week at the holiday club and we all thoroughly enjoyed the sup lesson, the staff are so friendly and helpful, we will definitely be returning.

William Veats: Great place to experience outdoor activities with highly motivated, experienced staff in a very safe location.

Nick: My 2 boys had parties here and had fantastic times. One did kayaking with Nathan (loved it, learning skills, playing games and even got to jump into the reservoir at the end). My second did bushcraft with Nathan and Tom. The weather was a wet and miserable day but they had an awesome time learning how to start fires, scavenging for resources and they were happy the whole time. Would recommend and will probably use them again next year for a new activity.

Julie Doubleday: We had a fabulous morning kayaking at Underbank today with our instructor Will. Both the kids (11 and 8) and the adults loved it. We played a fun game of tag, paddled the length of the reservoir and our eldest son enjoyed a few swims as well! We will be back soon!

Lee Green: James, In conclusion to the canoeing event that you provided for our Scout group on Saturday 11th I would like to give to following feedback. Communication. Thorough out this whole event has been excellent, quick responses from all your team weather that be admin, finance, and your team at Underbank. When organising such events from our perspective as volunteers communication is critical. As volunteers we sometimes don’t have the time, we would like to spend organising such events so the fact everything was quick and easy all the better. Facilities. Were spot on, we could not have asked for more, everything that we needed you had. It was nice after the event that the Scouts had the opportunity to get changed and dried off (which is not always the case at some events) was a big bonus and the tuck shop also went down a treat, I do think our Scouts bought out the whole shop. The event itself. Was an all-round success, we have had nothing but praise and thank you from our Scouts. A big thank you to Nathan and Tom for showing our Scouts all the ins and outs of canoeing. From the feed back we have had form the Scouts I think they enjoyed the kayaking more than the canoeing, but I think this was more down to the wind as they all seemed to struggle with me included. They also really enjoyed the capsize drills and trying out the different methods and different types of canoes. Scouts and water always go down well. A couple of negatives from some of the younger Scouts was that a full day was a little to long for them, but I think that was just the age of them. Speaking with Tom after the event he mentioned that we might be able to get British Canoeing “Start Award and Discover Award” certificates is this something that you can look into for us as it would be a great way to reward our Scouts. Finally with agreement with Nathan and Tom all but two of our Scouts have managed to achieve level 1 and 2 paddle sports badges. So again, a big thank you to the two of them. So, on behalf of 229th Greenhill Methodist Scouts, thank you. Regards, Lee

Andrew Woodcock: We booked in for the canoeing today as a family of four. James the instructor was excellent, took us around the lake at a nice pace for us as learners and we played a few games between the two canoes that we had (two people share a canoe). We arrived early just to make sure we could get there on time and James was very accommodating. Suggest taking a spare pair of clothes and towels for afterwards. Our youngest jumped in at the end and we are loved it!

fred Levitt: Wow what a lovely place to visit for a few hours
Connor Ratcliffe: Used this place very recently for a school trip, staff were fantastic, couldn’t be more helpful for both staff and students. Already discussing making this an annual residential.
jumbo lox: Love this place , perfect for walking, fishing, and kayaks, the centre is so helpful and have loads of activities available.
Christine Rowland-Paine: Great Activity place for Youths, etc 👍

Ninja Warrior UK Adventure (Sheffield): what do users think?

Oluwatoyin Agbeye: It was my first time here & I was pleasantly impressed. My sons had their birthday party, a total of 10 children. They all had an amazing time. Also, Olivia was great, she made sure all the kids enjoyed their time. Definitely a great place to celebrate kids birthday. The food was good too.

Victoria Stewart: Absolutely brilliant! Daughters birthday party. Party hosts were fantastic! They even took care of my 5 year old for the whole hour and took him on all of the equipment. Everyone has really enjoyed themselves. Highly recommend
Brian Turner: Kids loved it
John & Susan Sheehan: Great experience, the kids loved it, plenty to do and loads of space to chill and have a drink too.
Claire Todd: We had our ten year old’s birthday party here today and it was superb!Plenty of time to play, great food and our party host, Marianne, was just brilliant! She took care of everything and was great with all the kids.A real credit to the centre. Thanks for making our party so special.
P McD: Good activity venue for children. Unfortunately abit disappointed with the hot chocolate drink.
charmagne haxby: Absolutely fantastic visit today for my son’s birthday. Cannot fault the venue, amenities available and the staff. Special shout out to Scott who took the extra time and care, offering advice to ensure our visit was memorable. Thank you so much!! We will definitely recommend and be back!
Mark Taylor: Fun time had great for children and young at heart adults
Zoe Morrison: My lads 7th birthday party 13th April....The kids all loved the different activities on offer! The staff were exceptional!!! I cannot praise them enough!!From the minute we arrived they were friendly, attentive, well informed and organised. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made looking after fifteen 7 year old seem effortless. They made a massive effort with the kids to make sure they were all involved and able to do everything.Thank you in particular to out party host Taylor. You really really went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were well catered for. I've got 3 children and have never had a party host put so much effort in and made a party seem so fun! Thanks again.
Gemma Overend: Sons 9th birthday party here today, absolutely fantastic service, exceeded expectations. Taylor the party host was fantastic, he made sure all the boys enjoyed the party, encouraged them all with the wall and was a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend him and ninja warrior for parties, there was plenty of food, very obliging staff and Extremely pleased with the overall service. Thank you Taylor!!
Ken Shephard: We were having fun playing in the football soft area and the ball went over 2 times when a member of staff with no name badge like most workers have took the ball of us stating it was too busy for staff to keep fetching and utterly shocking we were only ten and nine i would not recommend coming here
Hazel Kirk: Brought kids here has a birthday treat for my grandson and they loved it. Food and drinks were a bit pricey.Staff were friendly and helpful
A H: Super birthday party, very well hosted and organised by Olivia who was really excellent. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Jason Linkhorn: If the full on ninja warrior experience is what you have in mind then this could be a let down. It might be worth a try just to have a go but one time is all you will want if that. The brand is wasted on this bouncy castle and a hand full of swing bars which is a shame because thats what your paying for.
Dawn Green: Absolutley brilliant ..
Andrew Heeley: We had a 9 year old party at NWUK. 10 chaotic children well managed by Kensie, who was energetic, entertaining and friendly. Thanks guys. Great day!
Fiona Ladd: Great place
Pooja Singh: A very good experienceHave to pay £2 for socks, which you will need and a bit pricey at £13 for 1 hour
Sue Flintoft: Kids absolutely loved it.Café inside, price's reasonable, but very limited menu. Our grandchildren want to return. There's plenty of good shops around too.
Heather Matthews: Great place. Value for money. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Will be coming back.
Rob Uney: Great party for my daughter, lots of activities and we were really well looked after by our host Tanayah. Thanks for a great afternoon!
philip hinchliff: Lots to do for the kids some a bit difficult but it is for all ages what I would say is even the spectators have to be ninjas when trying to get a table and chairs there's just not quite enough overall though a good experience
ross helliwell: Kids loved it, not a bad for a rainy day

Girlguiding Sheffield Outdoor Activity Centre: what do users think?

Giulia Gigliobianco: Lovely place to bring your Guides Units to, always clean and well kept, plenty of amwnities and space to carry out your guiding activities.

Monika Gregorczyk: 👍💪👊👌
Jason Ede: This is a lovely safe space that scouting and guiding can use for all the activities and to just have fun together.
jo nathan Shaw: Fantastic place for youngsters to stay over. It is set amongst 9 acres of woodland, on the outskirts of Sheffield. Whitely Woods OAC offers activities to suit all ages. Instructor led and run by group leaders. From Kayaking on pond, to crate stacking, tree climbing, purpose built adventure course, indoor traversing wall, archery, grass sledging. There are 4 camp sites all with wet weather shelters and access to toilets and showers all with disability access and 2 residential buildings.
Jamie Brown: OAC is a peaceful tranquil location where young people and adults can experience the outdoors either through a residential experience or as an evening visit. The centre has loads to offer and there is always a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you drive through the gate.I have had the pleasure of many visits to OAC and met lots of great people.
Eileen Topley: A wonderful place with wonderful memories in the 1940's and 1950's.As well as other organised occasions with other groups we used to go there sometimes on a summer evening instead of the usual guide meetingI have very clear memories of one occasion when there were thousands of newborn frogs hopping around near the stream. An amazing sight. We were always worried about the bats flying around near the stables in case they 'got in our hair' !

Adventure Now Sheffield: what do users think?

Shannon Andrade: Had an absolute blast doing the archery and axe throwing with Adventure Now. Would 100% recommend this company to anyone wanted to try either. Our instructor, Mark, was very welcoming and made the experience so enjoyable with his guidance and different games for each activity.

Philip Strutt: We had a brilliant time at the archery range with instructors Vaughan and Kat. They made the lesson f in n and gave us a variety of challenges and competitions. Would definitely recommend!

Davida Howard: Great session with Vaughan- such good fun and an excellent teacher introducing us to Archery. He made it really enjoyable with lots of tips and surprise games etc. Felt very well organised and safe. Gave us plenty of encouragement too when the arrows didn’t go where we wanted them to! Great activity for families and friends. And the afternoon tea at the Kenwood Hall Hotel wasn’t bad either with 20% discount!

Katrina Taylor: We went along to an axe throwing session today with my son and his partner. I have to say that the instructor was brilliant. The staff were fantastic. Informative engaging and made the afternoon really good. The safety aspect was exemplary. We will definitely be doing another activity with them. Top drawer.

Jacob Morgan: Brilliant fun at a beautiful location. Our instructor Vaughan was excellent and was really friendly and informative. The crossbow activity had a variety of games which added a fun level of competition and challenge! I would highly recommend for those looking for some outdoor fun and/or looking to try something new.

Daniel Jeffrey: Myself and my missus went for an archery lesson. Adventure Now use the grounds of I think the Laura Ashley hotel, which is rather swanky. Anyway, we had Steve as an instructor, very friendly bloke, easy to talk to and was very patient. He told us he is leaving soon unfortunately, but I would definitely go back as it was good value for money and gave me the bug for archery.

CarloS: We had a great afternoon doing the archery. Very good instructions from Rachel and Vaughan. Will be coming back soon to do the crossbows or axe throwing. Highly recommended. 👍

Leigh Williams: Did an hour of archery with the family. Josh S took us for the session. He made it enjoyable and improved our skills and aim. A very friendly, relaxed and safe environment. Many thanks

Anand Chandarana: Fantastic session of archery! Josh took our session and was excellent! Would def recommend to anyone! No experience necessary, just turn up and have a great time!! Cheers guys!

Ej Halls: A really great afternoon. Instructors Rachel and Vaughan were friendly, helpful and lots of fun. Lovely location. Highly recommended leisure activity for all the family. We will be returning!

Aleksandar Ivanov: Excellent staff, location and a lot students.

Ponds Forge International Sports Centre: what do users think?
Dilan Killer: not cool place anymore
John Cassidy: I worked there.
Badroddin Kazkaz: Wowza.
Stephen Roberts: This is an iconic venue for aquatic sports in the UK. We have attended swimming events for which the pool is great. The main pool is a ten lane, 50m set up with decent blocks at both ends. There is a boom that can be used to form two 25m pools. The diving pool is often used for warm up/swim down during races. There is ample space for swim teams and coaches on one side and spectators on the other. There is a fairly basic but less expensive than many cafe and good access by public transport. It is marked down to 4 start as the venue is tired in parts and facilities like toilets are worn. The cleaning teams obviously make an effort but there is only so much that scrubbing can hide!If you get the Fagan e to watch an aquatic’s competition here I would say go for it!
GR: If you come for an event at pf and park in the q park they can validate your ticket for 50% off!
eany meany: Could do with some tidying up around the edges but it's a great place to swim and be active. One star reduced sure to lack of cycling parking, being such an iconic building should be providing the best bicycle parking the city can offer.
Jan Paweł: Expensive car park, but give U back £2 to use in cafe
Natalie Atkins: Great swim with the children. Not to busy
wayne wentworth: Best swimming baths in Sheffield, with both lanes and family pools
BigdaddyK KingKong: Great swimming pool, my child love it. Staff are very professional
Max W-H: Fined for parking, even though there were no parking spaces. Ponds Forge should disassociate from the awfully autocratic and overzealous Parkingeye.
Jodie Booth: Parking is a nightmare every week
stephen trevor: Swimming is great there, free lockers for members aswell. Sauna and spar are out of order., saving electricity. No change on price though
carl-john yates: Awesome place
Ovidiu murgu: The best swimming pool
Sean Morland: Went to watch the basketball there, sharks v flyers. Venue is OK and the seating is comfortable enough. They have a food area selling hot and cold drinks as well as hot dogs and other snacks.A double win for Bristol this season in the shark tank, come on @bristolflyers
Peter Meijer: Mooi duik- en zwembad
Phoebe Cooper: Great swimming spot for little ones, lovely interactive toddler pool with plenty of water features to enjoy! If you're taking your pram, make sure you bring an extra £1 so that you can lock it up in the buggy park outside the changing rooms.
Luke Denman: Decent leisure pool, cheap enough, easy to get to. Only downside is parking is a nightmare. More of a Sheffield issue than Ponds themselves.
Selene Ryall: Amazing and helpful desk staff on the day of our visit, life guards attentive too. Clean and plentiful changing rooms. Pool nice temperature, lazy river had lots of flotation rings, wave machine decent. Lots of safe fun to be had

Owlerton Greyhound Stadium: what do users think?
Chris Ledger: The cafe/bar food under the panorama room is woefully under resourced. On a speedway night be sure to queue at least +30 mins before you need to otherwise you’re going to miss half of the speedway meeting. The queues are very long and sadly there’s insufficient staff.
Geoff Telford: Loved it. Meals were great. Staff were super6 WinnersThanx
Andrew Line: Good night out. Great value for money
Nigel Lindley: Brilliant place for a group get-together
Bridget Llewellyn: Great food good service and great atmosphere
Gill Podoski: Went 6th May for my birthday I picked roast belly pork it was terrible all fat no meat I did complain but all I got was ok spoiled evening for me received email over a week ago saying they would look into my complaint not had a reply shocking
Nick Jackson: Great night out
Fay Ibbotson: Enjoyable evening lively food just pity only 1 winner on the dogs but still good night
Jean McKenzie: The staff were brilliant very friendly helpful, meal was very good plenty of meat in all dinners
Brenda Peters: Had a brilliant night, meal was excellent, friendly staff, very helpful, excellent customer service, value for money, great night out for everyone, couples, friends, family, plenty of parking or fancy a drink you can get a taxi, would definitely recommend
Mark Crapper: Excellent food. Good drinks. Shame many of the races had fewer than six runners.
Joss Dutton: Good facilities and food from snack bar was great quality
Lynn Legood: Brilliant place, so much fun.
Philip Johnson: Hired a couple of VIP boxes at Owlerton stadium for a birthday party. The staff were very helpful in the organising prior to and then on the day itself. The hot and cold food was plentiful and enjoyed by everyone. We had a sponsored race and the announcer was kind in organising photos of the birthday boy alongside the winning dog. We had a great night and would certainly recommend it.
steve calvert: Nice food.Very busy but friendly team
Graham Short: Watched the racing in comfort from the bar, good facilities.
eric leigh: Good food, atmosphere is spot on,loved every minute of last night,we will be returning.cannot fault it.
Linda Beckham: Brilliant evening. Lovely meal and efficient staff. Really enjoyed it.
Philip Wright: The stock cars where very good I really enjoyed it back into itWe had pie 🥧 chips 🍟 mushy peas and grave which I can recommend 👌 it was excellent very tasty

Goodwin Sports Centre: what do users think?
David Fisher: Well worth the price. 2 floor gym, pool, sauna, steam, squash courts and football pitches as well as lots of classes. When I visit Sheffield I always grab a week pass and make the most of this great gym
Areli M: The swimming pool needs maintenance
Rachel Cabral: Fantastic facilities sports!
Zing Siang Lee: Well equipped gym with a swimming pool, some equipment is a bit worn out but overall it is well looked after.
Alex Fookes: Far too small for the amount of people allowed in, machines can take months to be fixed
Finlay Sandham: Absolute disgrace of a gym. Completely unusable between 16:00 and 22:00 on weekdays - I tried going after uni once at 17:00 and there were so many people you could barely move. Took me over two hours to finish what should have been a 45min workout because I had to spend half the time waiting for machines. And even if you do manage to get a barbell during peak hours there aren't enough weights to go round. To top it all off, despite the fact that they have already given out at least 50% more memberships than they have capacity for, in January they were advertising new years deals!! As far as I'm concerned the people who manage memberships for this gym are thieves and I'm gonna be asking for a refund seeing as it's unusable for 30% of the advertised opening times. And despite all the money they rake in it still takes multiple weeks for them to fix machines and there are always at least two to three that are broken.
Daniel Thomas: Go at right time it’s empty peak times packed
A: Pool water is cold, sauna breaks down a lot I'm told. Apart from that fair price to pay as you go £5Worth noting staff said the pool temperature was fine but twice now I've braved the cool water, ok once you get going but bracing on first contact with the water! This is in winter
Bhone Pyae: Good place for students.
Winko: Good price for the prime location it's in. Freidnly staff, great atmosphere. Only wish they were open till midnight instead of 10PM!
Lisha Jackson: Clean
Sam Barthram: AstroTurf is lovely and green
Altaf Quereshi: Very helpful
Joshua Ellershaw: Alright
Lizi Attwood: I use the pool here all the time, it is a good length and good value for money. The gym is well equipped with friendly helpful staff!
Amongus grand dad: I have only written about sheffield museum once before, though I've come across the building on several occasionsWhile I understand that museums are always being re-invented and changed in to fit a modern audience, it seems the timings of this process are somewhat different in my experience. I think that visitors should take the museum at the point at which it is changed and try to use it as it was designed to be used.To achieve this, you have to have a good understanding of what that museum was designed for. In this case, a small and easily accessed museum built for children.
Ritwick Jha: Staff sometimes very rude
Yihang Zhao: Very patient and considerate staff, equipped with complete trauma treatment items, effectively saved my own trauma caused in the exercise
Oddiseaofhomer R: My local sports center and 7 aside pitches, once a week I get to play on great pitches with fantastic surroundings. Staff are helpful but only downsides are holes in the pitch dividing nets and during term time we get bumped off for student activities
Arshad Najimudeen: Good and cheap place to play badminton
James Main: Great facilities

Jane Hawes: I use a mobility scooter so was VERY pleased I phoned for advice before I went to a party. There is a lift to the side of the reception steps which took me up to the correct floor and I certainly needed the scooter there was no way I could have walked the distance to the gathering
Jenplayz27: Booked a last minute joint birthday party for two of my children, the staff were incredibly welcoming and very friendly the room with dance floor and disco lights was an excellent size which we decorated ourselves, the children and adults were well catered for and very reasonably priced drinks at the bar and with free teas and coffee for the adults, all the children loved it, thankyou for a lovely afternoon x
Michael Cammack: That was a amazing achievement those lovely people have done today so many Christmas Dinners a afternoon to remember well done ladies didn't reckon much to the two singers at the end far to loud killing the songsAnyway merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all men WOMEN and child it was a good afternoon
