SpaMedica: what do users think?
Janet Marcroft: After having cataract surgery at the local hospital, I don’t have enough words to express my thanks and appreciation of all aspects of my experience from referral to the operation itself. Very efficient helpful staff throughout. What a pleasant experience so different to my local hospital.Don’t worry you will be in good handsThank you so much
Joanne Hague: My Dad had his cataract eye operation here and the whole experience was fantastic. Staff were outstanding, so kind and professional. The building was spotlessly clean. A comfortable area to sit and wait with complimentary coffee and biscuits. Ample free parking close to the building. I totally recommend this facility to anyone needing this procedure.
Mark Bryan (m1tvr): Had cateract on left eye ,the place is excellent th
Jocelyn Storey: Lovely nurses. Surgeon was very blunt and rude to me, lacking a caring attitude. Good facilities.
Della Stone: Had cataract surgery on both eyes at the Chapeltown branch.Fast, friendly and very organised. Would highly recommend it.
Dawn Norburn: I had my first cataract surgery at Chapletown on Saturday 2 days ago. My whole appointment went like clock work. Surgery took about 6 or 7 minutes and was painless. Wow, thank you for giving me back the precious gift of vision, I can see perfectly, your whole team are angels and look forward to having my second eye done. Thanking you all again xxx
Julie Waller: From entering the building the door man ,the staff and all the medical team outstanding. My dad was extremely impressed with the outstanding care and support .Cleanliness 100%Highly recommended
kath backhouse: Took my Dad for laser treatment. Fantastic place.
Mary Clark: I would like to thank spamedica staff at smithy wood drive Chapel town for operating on my right eye yesterday the 31st January the staff could not do enough for me they was so good with me and I have to go back opticians on the 1st march to check my eye ant see if it's all OK and to see if I need my left eye done but thank you all so my and the surgeon for doing a wonderful job mrs m clark Hoyland S74 9QX
David and Jax Parkin: Visited this private hospital earlier this week with my mother for a first appointment to discuss cataract surgery. There is plenty of car parking with spaces quite near the door for those with mobility difficulties. There is a lift to the first floor where the assessment took place. Waiting / assessment time was approximately 3 hours. Staff were friendly and supportive. My mother was given a cancellation date for two weeks time for her surgery which I thought was really quick and efficient.
SkyChaser High: My dad is/was under the of SpaMedica care for cataracts.Great location and easy to get to just a min off the M1. Simple enough to find just look for the Yorkshire Water building.Dad has nothing but praise for the service provided.Dropped him off and they call when he is done (if it's a long appointment) never had bother parking up.
Paul Skinns: Apart from an hour wait at the beginning, could be due to many things, a really good experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the whole procedure was so relaxing I feel a sleep during the during surgery, brilliant.
Jean Black: Just had second cataract operation and both went very well. All the staff here were absolutely lovely making you feel at ease. The Clinic was well run very professional right from the initial assessment. The actual operation was over within no time at all. Post operative had no problems at all and looking forward to not wearing distance glasses. I would highly recommend SpaMedica.
Susan Gale: I have just had cataract surgery at spa medica Sheffield , I have received excellent care before and after surgery, I couldn't have wished for better , I would highly recommend them , thank you
Sylvia McCormick: The majority of the staff are wonderful, the place is superb, well set up. Do not expect to be treated if you struggle with your back. I quote " We are a private hospital not set up to deal with people like you. We even get sent people in wheelchairs who we are not set up to deal with" Further if you struggle with masks as I do there is no provision for you to remove it and the staff do not wear face shields, only masks.
Robert Payton: Highly professional, clean and efficient
Anne Heathfield: On behalf of my father, Barrie Heathfield, He would like to thank, Ruth Berry and her fantastic team for, my laser treatment on the 3rd February 2022 on, his right eye. Barrie, my dad vision is excellent. He cannot thank you enough.
Evie Reverie: Great service from the staff for the actual medical procedures but god forbid if you get there before 10 minutes to your appointment (due to the lovely 1 bus an hour schedule), its straight outside in the freezing cold and whilst its raining. Appalling place for surgeries and check ups location wise.
Deb Sheff: This is not an NHS clinic and should not be advertised as such. You charge the NHS and make a profit but to do so, you use all the referral systems paid for by the NHS, employ staff that have been trained by the NHS, and use NHS marketing.
anthony oxley: Had my first cataract surgery on 14th Oct. Excellent treatment from the moment I arrived from every member of staff that attended to my needs! Now looking forward to the other eye surgery in the future!
brian slade: This is how a hospital should be run. No messing about, the first visit covered everything that was required and the second was the operation. The Surgeon was excellent as were the support staff, the whole operation was completed in just over 1 hour, .thank you

Ravenfield Surgery: what do users think?
Jean Bolton: Fantastic staff so helpful jb 😁
Sam J: Appointment system is horrendous. Good luck getting in to see anyone....
Lisa Edwards: Can never get past the receptionist to book to see a gp...they decide of you need a appointment and who you see!!My son has mental health problems and often has anxiety about his health, but I feel when I mention his name to the receptionist they think oh its only him we will just tell him no doctors are available or there are no gp's working today! I think they think he is just wasting everyone's time...its disgraceful, I know they have to weed out the really poorly from the people who just need to chat about their health...but mental health is killing people!! I wonder if the reveptionists have ever had Anxiety...??On the board in all Gp practices it seems the receptionists are the problem !! And have no empathy....awful , how would they like it if it was their own family to be told this...
Tom Howarth: Impossible to book an appointment and constantly told to ring 111 for non-emergencies. Do all they can to put you off booking an appointment. We are moving surgeries we are that fed up with them.
Lorraine: Getting through to the surgery and booking an appointment is hard work. Even when you order a repeat prescription and go to pick it up several days later (if it’s not urgent) you have to chase it between the pharmacy and docs surgery as it’s never where it’s supposed to be. It’s such a pity as the docs and staff are brilliant
Dj W: This practice was once one of the best in the area. Now it seems to be run for the unwaged / elderly / on benefits sections of society. If you work full time just ordering a prescription has now become a trial as the small window of opportunity is hard to hit if you actually work !Appointments are usually on the day only so a morning or afternoon off work at very short notice is usually required, which really makes you popular with your employer.Find a lump, worried about diabetes ? Just wait 2 - 3 weeks for an appointment !!!The staff, non medical, answering the appointments line are asking deeper and deeper personal medical questions in order for you to get an appointment, so much for privacy. No doubt all of the above will be pushed aside by the staff as they will quote efficiency and workload as their excuses.May be they should try treating patients as individuals and not as an interference in their "busy day" !
Andy Barratt: Absolutely shocking, can never get in for a appointment unless you wait weeks
Pamela Fletcher: Very curt receptionist on prescriptions phone line. Hard to get through for emergency appountment, then none left. For general appointment....a 2 week wait.Doctors pleasant....but access to appointment poor.
vanessa scholey: Went for minor surgery and whilst the staff and doctor were fantastic the waiting room leaves a lot to be desired. Have never been in an enclosed waiting room before visiting here and to sit in there with everyone coughing and sneezing plus people saying how they'd caught a bug on a plane doesn't make you feel great. As predicted 2 days after sitting in there with all of this myself and partner came down with the most horrendous cold I've had in years!! If you're going to cramp people into a small room please ventilate it so germs can escape. Made much worse as I was the last person to be seen so had to sit there for 45 minutes in this.If you visit recommend leaving it till last minute before going in there or take a mask!!
Alan Miller: Nice doctors, not always easy to get an appointment but I suppose it's the same everywhere these days. Chemist next door
