The Rising Sun Arts Centre: what do users think?

Daran Thomas: My Son visits the Linkup event on a Wednesday which he enjoys. Great for teenagers into local music.

Jason Cox: Good experience lovely guys

Christy Harrington-Brown: There's always something fun going on at the RSAC. Love music, art, poetry, burlesque, you name it they've got it. A truly wonderful local arts centre with a cosy and quirky atmosphere.

Felix Brunner: A proper community Arts centre

Richard Sanderson: Wonderful wonderful venue for live music. Run by the best people in the world.... honestly. Please support this pillar of the Reading Music Community.

Salim Yakub: Wednesday evenings are a great night for open mic singing, rapping, and occasional dance performances. Artist Link Up hosts the evening to provide a platform for young and upcoming artists to perform on stage. All of these young artists are very talented and many write and sing their own songs. Very inspirational and worth a visit!

Eric Fairman: I think the place and people that go there are amazing, last night I went to a rap night and really enjoyed myself. And made some friends also. The talent on display was awesome and so many young talented artists there! And some not so young but nonetheless brilliant! Happens every Wednesday I think and I will be going again! I didn't think I liked rap that much but I do now! The Rising sun is a brilliant place that hosts many events, including poetry which is my love! Eric 🙂

Caboodle Travel: The Rising Sun has long been a staple for local live music and community events. It's located in the oldest neighbourhoods in Reading, which was the red light district, and I think started life as a halfway house. There's no air conditioning and the drinks selection is small but you're here to enjoy whatever is going on. The building has been massively underfunded so the toilets, structure, gardens, etc are in dire need of maintenance. So go along and support your local arts and community centre.

Richard Ennis: Always enjoy going for the art classes. I really hope this centre can remain open as long as possible

Sue Beckett: This local indie venue should be on your list of reasons to be visiting Reading if you love music. There are so many great events, you'll be spoiled for choice. There's always the opportunity to see the next big thing! Run by volunteers, decent drinks selection.

Richard Homer: I went for a poetry evening beginning December. Enjoyable, nice atmosphere, experience.

MARWAN ALESSA: It's very good
