Emily Dtone: Museum is a very small Museum. Next to the restaurant.
Mariam Yady: Wait time No wait Reservation recommended YesMore
Kenny Sharp: Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended NoMore
Che Hong Tam: good history museum
David Gardner: It's a small place. It won't take more than 30 minutes but it is interesting and the gypsy caravan is beautiful. After visiting you can walk to the Reading Abbey ruins, they're nearby. We'll worth a visit because they are excellently curated. Two free visits for the price of none!
Teresa Lemmer: Very beautiful place, however the Museum itself is quite small!
Stephanie Cronk: For a free museum, it's not bad.
Chris Mercier: Good little art venue in Reading.
Freweyni Tzegazeab: It's not even open
K B: Not my cup of tea
Cezary: Small but very nice and interesting
Daniel Podrażka: At the time I visited the Riverside Museum, the exhibition was very small and didn't interest me. Maybe other exhibitions are better.
Kira Kearsley: While it was just two buildings, there is very interesting history about gypsies. While the museum is small, it is also worth a visit to the restaurant as well.
Antonio Fernandez: Had some good displays. Nice resto adjacent to museum.
Simon Wise: There's a few worthy exhibits in the hall, a gypsy caravan and river parafanalia. Best though is when there's an art exhibition in the old turbine house.
Guy Duhau: Nice museum to visit, ultra small but interesting never the less. You can park at Bel&Dragon for free =0)
Greg Sutton: Small museum but lovely romany caravan lots to read artefacts and pumping house.
Stephen Parr: A little gem of a free museum close to thrown centre. Not very big and it's over before you know it, but worth seeing.
Karen Shanahan: It was closed. Check the site's website not Google before visiting for up-to-date opening times.
Steven Steven: No comment
Malcolm Tott: Interesting place and setting - not a lot there but good history of pump house and Romany people.

Richard of Reading: Henry 1 is a moving play of historical events enacted with love. A breath of fresh air quite literally! 🎭Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More
Caboodle Travel: The atmospheric and stunning grounds are a great setting for open air cinema, theatre and live music. Steeped in Henry I and Reformation history, it's the jewel in the crown of Reading. If you visit, go round the corner to see the Banksy on the side of the prison. And the prison itself as the place Oscar Wilde was imprisoned and wrote De Profundis.

Pippa McHale: I had to spend the day in Reading as my car was being serviced at Dacia so I met up with a friend who took me to see the Abbey Ruins and the Forbury Gardens. In medieval times, Reading was the site of a great royal Abbey – a religious community centred round a magnificent church - one of the largest monasteries in Europe. In 1121, King Henry I announced that he wanted to have a new abbey built at Reading. The Abbey would have a large and impressive church and living quarters for dozens of monks, who would worship in the church. No expense was spared in its construction. Henry I is buried there but the grave is unmarked. The Maiwand Lion is a sculpture and war memorial in the Forbury Gardens, a public park in the town of Reading built in the grounds of the old Abbey. The statue was named after the Battle of Maiwand and was unveiled in December 1886 to commemorate the deaths of 329 men from the 66th (Berkshire) Regiment of Foot during the campaign in the Second Anglo-Afghan War in Afghanistan between 1878 and 1880. It is sometimes known locally as the Forbury Lion.
Elizabeth Ord-Hume: Wonderful to see this place reopened again after being closed for many years.Watched a Shakespeare play with mother, much ado about nothing performed by Progress Theatre.Magical setting to see a performance , especially at twilight.
