Alex Scott: Another visit overnight to Malmaison in Reading and was once again given a fantastic 5* service. I also had a delicious dinner in the restaurant, the food was outstanding. Special thank you to Nick who made my stay very welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Simon Birkbeck: Rooms comfortable, but dark decor throughout. Air conditioning good in rooms. Breakfast pleasant. All round worth staying.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Adam Cole: The poorest of the malmaison group.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5 …More
sade finn: It’s such a beautiful hotel, very good prices and very nice location! The room was so lovely and the staff were so sweet
Fotokunst RheinMain: Keine warme Dusche!
Stuart Beamish: One of the best hotels in the centre of Reading. 2 minute walk from the station. Trendy inside, bags of style. The rooms are large with large bathrooms, some with outside terraces. Coffee machine with pods, bottled water and soaps provided in the room. The food was excellent but a bit pricey £33 for ribeye steak chips and salad, but it was hard to fault. No parking, but there are car parks from £11/day nearby.Rooms: Large rooms with large bathrooms, some with terraces. Luxurious inside.Food & drinks: The food is as good as any top end restaurant.
Phil Wheeler: Second time we have stayed here, ideal if you are arriving or departing Reading via train or the RailAir coach service. Friendly staff in reception. We arrived early and wanted to just drop our bags off, which isn't an issue, however our room was ready so we checked in early. Previous stay we had a club room and this is the standard, but as you can see still very nice. Ideal for our overnight stay before early departure for the Eurostar in the morning. Has a bar and room service is from 3pm until 10pm.
The Knightstrider: Wouldn’t stay again. Unfortunately despite being in a great loction, our stay was ruined by no hot water for 4 days as the boiler had broken down. No real apology other than a letter on our bed full of excuses as to why it couldnt be fixed due to bank holidays. We complained to the front desk multiple times and we were offered just £100 back of our £550 total bill. This just about covered our £5 showers at the train stations. Handled very poorly, not even an offer of a breakfast or drink for the inconvenience of not having a basic necessity for our stay (hot water). Room and hotel were fine but the poor management of the situation let us down. Regular maintenance checks of the boiler system would have avoided a major breakdown that punishes your guests!
James Murray: I've often stopped by the hotel bar but this was my first time in the hotel. Rooms were lovely and staff were nice, but there was no hot water in our room. I'd hope this was a one off but I have to rate based on my experience.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Graham Clifford: We booked a package which included a junior suite plus 3 course meal, with a bottle of champagne, and breakfasts the following day. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, especially Yvette and Matt in the restaurant. The Flying Scotsman suite was a very good size, with a decent sofa seating area and large bathroom. The food in the restaurant, both in the evening and during the morning breakfast, was fabulous - we both commented that it was some of the best restaurant food we’d had for a long time. A great stay with no complaints.
Claire Woods: I needed a place for a last minute business lunch near the station and decided to try Malmaison in Reading. We went to the bar and were served by a very welcoming employee called Yvette. Yvette went out of her way to look after us, our drinks and food were absolutely spot on and the service was the best I have had for a very long time!Next time I need to go somewhere in Reading for a business lunch I will most certainly go back to Malmaison!Noteworthy details: Yvette is an absolute star!!!!
Carol Adkins: We ate last night in the brasserie and had an excellent meal. Each course as well presented, we tried the crispy calamari, burgers and steak with half a bottle of house red and white. Yvette our waitress was friendly and helpful and went out of her way to make sure we had an enjoyable eveningService: 5/5 …More
damon grégory: We spent one night before leaving to Heathraw. The crew was very kind and helpful with our 6 big baggages plus our cat. Thanks for helping us carrying them to the train station.Sorry for having left in the rush.
Mo: This place is a gem out of London.1 min walk from the station. The staff is absolutely amazing and the junior suite (orient express)? Ooooooo we did not want to leave!!!! Thank you guys! :)Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Chris Giles: The rooms were not very good. Getting a bit old and rough around the edges. The shower head needed descaling. Bathrooms had nowhere to hang the hand towels or anywhere to hang near the shower. The USB charging points did not work next to the bed, the desk lamp did not work and worst of all the WiFi is completely insecure. No passwords needed to access at all!! Also the cleaners were very noisy in the early morning by repeatedly slamming adjoining room doors. Won't be staying again unless they give the rooms a refresh. The staff were great and dud go above and beyond. The breakfasts were good as well, although the portion sizes were different each morning. That meant the value for money was diminished without explanation
Tracey: I would like to thank the staff and especially Nick for providing me with the things I requested for my partner’s birthday. They let me send parcels over to the hotel so I didn’t have to bring it all back with me. I appreciate the set up for the table and the extra drinks and snacks you added to the room, we could not thank you enough. I’ve stayed in Mal Maison Reading for a few times now their rooms are clean, the restaurant food is so good and everything else is up to good standard. I recommended to family and friends, this hotel does not dissapoint. Highly recommend. See you soon!🙂

Faf: No aircon, just a weak fan, a broken bed frame and an old mattress (you could feel the individual springs poking you)......was allowed to swop it myself with another room's bed, although no help offered or given. This after I changed rooms because the connecting door to next door's room couldn't lock and they had no key for it.......I walked in on an old man lying on the bed in his pants when I checked that door. Shower curtain so close it just keeps clinging to you when you try have a shower. Bit pricey for what you get, but if there's nothing else available, it'll do.
Emily Jenkins: Awful, avoid, bed bugs!! We stayed here after having the most wonderful day at Royal Ascot only to find we weren't the only guests in our room.... it was invested with bed bugs!!! We ended up leaving at 1am, the night porter said that he has reported the bed bugs on numerous occasions to the manager!! AVOID! Even the sheets were stained as photo below shows! We were kindly offered a refund!
Jackie Wilcox: When we arrived their was 2 of us but there was only one cup and no spoons and the milk was off so I had to go and get milk from the reception and we stayed at the lawns hotel not the Parkside international.
Petecunningham Cunningham: Staff friendly, beds, pillows and TV dreadful, breakfast was microwaved in my opinion with a fresh egg, there was even cling film on the bottom of the plate.... for the price it was ok, workman's hotel for sure, ok for 1 nightRooms: 2/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Tina Arbuckle: Disgusting pit of a place. Upon arriving to book in, we were 'greeted' by this surly, miserable old goat, that remained in the same mood until we left. Filthy sink and toilet. No power shower - and the water was barely lukewarm. Towels stank of damp and cigarette smoke. Doors banging very loudly at all times of the day. WIFI stopped working and the staff couldn't care less about repairing it. Not worth £55 per night in the slightest! Since leaving, we have spoken to other people who don't rate the hovel at all. Avoid at all costs folks!!
Raj Jilka: Staff are very good and caring Great but odour of cigarette smoking is a put offRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ifeatu Nnachetta: It did what I needed it to do from a location perspectiveRooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Ron Carter: Was good value for money, was a bit ofMisunderstanding as I thought the priceIncluded breakfast. So had to pay for the breakfast. It is a pity they have not gotA bedside cabinet at the side of the bed.
Dj Marcdamohawk: Seriously needs a revamp
Jessica Wilson: Staff seemed friendly but I left my fitbit there by accident. I sent a self addressed envelope with a letter asking for proof of posting so that I knew they had posted it as promised. A month later, the fitbit hasn't arrived. They have told me to be patient as there are postal strikes but I don't think stuff is taking a month to arrive. They didn't get proof of posting so they're unable to prove that they posted it. It also means that the post office won't compensate me. As far as I am aware, they are now liable for the cost of the fitbit because, if they did post it, the poster remains responsible until the package arrives. They have not offered me any compensation! For a cheap hotel, with a lumpy bed, it ended up costing me a lot of money.
Huw David Wright: Excellent place to stay staff are amazing go out of their way to help you out if you need anything highly recommend.Stayed here from 28th October 2922 til 8th November 2022 after being discharged from Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Premier Inn Reading (Caversham Bridge) hotel: what do users think?
Zain Mehdi: This is a budget hotel in Reading. Although the rooms are much larger for the same price you will find in London, this premier inn branch is one of the worst I have come across yet.Small uncomfortable bathrooms, poor lighting, hastily put together rooms and no air conditioning. We came here for royal ascot and its only 24 min away. Therefore good location if you are coming from afar and trying to save a bucks

ODJEQP IOJPI: I had a terrible experience. First room I'm given has a joining door to another room!!! We can hear their TV and them speaking. Itvwas like they were in our room.So after lots of hard work, I then get moved to another room. All seemed good, and then at 4am so much noise started!! So much banging and moving of things around. It went on from 4am until we left. Like we were on top of a kitchen or a loading bay. I didn't sleep well. It was terrible. I will never stay here again

tony dobson: Val on reception is a credit to the company. She has a wonderful friendly sense of humour and yet still remains professional ..If ever she moved to Stoke on Trent would employ her for front of house without a second thought. We went to the Toby on-site and the service was disgraceful and disrespectful. The food was ok but the young guy chewing gum behind the bar got the order wrong.I ordered a double vodka and Diet Coke and was told the pump had no gas,so would have to buy a bottle ( and we all know they are more expensive so asked could I have that @the same price? The young lady with glasses said no so either have flat coke from the pump or buy a bottle which I did.The chewing gum young man came to clear our table and we said, the service wasn't very good and he said "I've had a bad day, kicked a door and went into the kitchen. These young staff need training and until they do would recommend going elsewhere.

Maciej Dąbrowski: I stayed at this hotel from 23 untill 28 od april with a group of 24 students and 2 teachers. I had a very unpleasant situation from a hotel employee who was on shift at the reception desk after 10 pm (23.04.)Our check-in was handled in a shameful way.First of all, despite the fact that the employees received the check-in list a week before our arrival (which I proved), they did not enter the names into the system, which made the check-in process last at least 1.5 hours. The receptionist could issue room cards to our students during this time, and enter the data after everyone was in their rooms but she told everyone to wait in the lobby for all that time, which was not without a negative echo among our participants and without negative opinions about my company, which organized the trip. It was really bad if even the children said that the check-in at this hotel was a "joke".The receptionist, despite my very calm demeanor, was sarcastic, dry, phlegmatic and unprofessional. Most rooms had unmade beds and no towels. It is unacceptable. On April 24, half of the group, due to an error in the system, did not want to be allowed in for breakfast.Despite the negative experiences, I also have positive impressions.I would like to especially thank Mrs. Sharka who is the manager. Her professional attitude and commitment made it possible to explain and rectify the whole situation in a way that was satisfactory for us and to erase the unpleasant impressions from the first day.In addition, I would like to commend the rest of the staff - the receptionists and the service dealing with breakfast. Thank you very much for your attitude.Maybe after another visit i will change my rate for 5 stars, but for now 3 is enough.

Sure Hotel by Best Western Reading: what do users think?
The Boy: Was expecting a proper restaurant, instead of a simple bar snacks. Room was clean although the curtains didn’t close, and was two buildings down the road from the main reception & bar area.
Kelly Porter: Room was a little dirty but very friendly and a last minute bookings for us as we we're let down and they upgraded our room so I would go here againRooms: Rooms were great a little dated and could do with a bit of TLC
Josh C: Good, pretty clean and not too expensive. Ideal for work trips. Can be a luck-of-the-draw with rooms howeverRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Lizzie Austin: Clean hotel with all the things you need for an enjoyable weekend away. The room was equipped with microwave, fridge, kettle, cutlery & tea/coffee/sugars. Staff very friendly and I enjoyed my breakfast. Would visit again!
David Chapman: Checking in late after a very long travel day, I did not have a great first impression. However, the next morning, I started to notice that the room and hotel was actually pretty decent. The exteriors of the buildings are charming as is the breakfast room. The room was definitely 2star, but clean and quite functional. The manager and staff was very helpful and friendly. In fact, the stay was pleasant enough that we added a few more nights and used Reading as a base for day trips. Breakfast was Ok. We would have bought breakfast more if we were able to just order the Ala carte items like the full english or an omelette without the continental buffet table. The packaged pastries were better than most, but I prefer to do no carbs for breakfast...so just personal preference.Location has some good restaurants, convenience stores and a drop off laindry within 2 blocks. Downtown and train station was about a 30 minute walk... doable for us sightseeing ...without luggage. Overall, a very good 2star hotel choice.
Trish Wilkinson: Much better than expected for a 2 star hotel. The room was lovely and I even had a bidet and a jacuzzi bath. The staff were lovely and attentive.Yes it needs a bit of TLC but then it would get higher stars and be more expensive.I would definitely stay again.
Manisha Sharma: The service was excellent. Staff was helpful. Rooms are well equipped but can be slightly more clean.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Phoebe Till: On the first night I found a bedbug. After telling the night porter we were offered a room that was worse, it had been made up but not properly cleaned - we found rubbish on the floor, and live insects in the dirty fridge. To his credit the night porter did his best to transfer us to a different hotel but couldn't due to the late hour and short notice. Instead we were offered a place in an external apartment. This proved to be both difficult to access - the path was not fully paved and it had rained heavily during the day - and not adequately heated, having only small wall radiators that didn't work properly. After one difficult night and several hours the next day, we were finally moved to a different hotel.None of the staff we spoke had been taught what a bedbug is and I did not feel as if our problems were taken seriously. One bedbug might not sound like a problem but anyone who works in hospitality should know that a) one is too many and b) there are almost always more. We will not be staying at the Sure Hotel again.
Lauren: I stayed here this past weekend for a convention. We stayed here the year before and whilst we had no issues then, on this occasion, my friend found a bedbug over the bed. After alerting the staff, the second room they showed us still had more bugs and was unclean. Although we were moved into one of their apartments for one night, the place was freezing cold, and by that point we were uncomfortable staying there. Night staff were helpful trying to relocate but the morning staff were quite condescending and rude towards my friends and I. Overall a general lack of taking responsibility for the unhygienic state of the first two rooms we were placed in, considering the potential severity of what we encountered and what could have been far, far worse.
Ronnie Ah-Chuen: Stayed for CosXpo and our hotel room had bed bugs. They moved us to another room with live ants in the fridge and rubbish on the floor. They couldn’t relocate us at 1:30am in the morning so we stayed in an external apartment which had no heating and dusty carpets which several affected my asthma. We woke up freezing and we asked about relocation the same morning. It took them 2 hours to find us another hotel even though I found several nearby on my phone much sooner, and when they did, booked under my card and called pretending to be me instead of on behalf on the hotel. Staff were rude, treated us as if we were the problem and described as us as ‘unsatisfied’ instead of recognising the existence of several health issues.
Lolo Weiss: Cheap and cheerful.. comfy beds ..awesome location for CosXPoRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
