CrossFit Reading: what do users think?
Felipe Vieira: So far the experience has been amazing. Great coaches and great support from the community. Look no further 🙌🙌🙌
Letícia M. Ventura: I cannot recommend enough, I am so happy with the classes, atmosphere, support from the professionals, everything about this place is great. If you are looking for a exciting way to exercise, go for it. Big thank you for Jodie, Paul and Tom for welcoming me very well in my first week.
Edzus Viksna: I joined them for a drop in. A bit cold in winter, but great box with great people. I will definitely return when I can. Good example of good CrossFit.
James Culley: I've been part of CFR for about a year ago and it's been so beneficial having it as part of my weekly routine. The coaching team are great and the owner (Paul) has always been supportive when sorting out membership queries etc. The advice and variety provided by the daily WODs has helped me stay consistent with my exercise and has made me enjoy it a great deal more as well. I recommend CFR to anyone looking to achieve new fitness goals within a supportive community 👍
David F: Great coaching and good programmes
heleena11: My first CrossFit gym and my expectations have been succeeded. The coaches are such pros and the community is so supportive. I really like the focus on proper form across all movements, as this was something I was worried about before joining. There’s also a range of different classes from WODs and Barbell to Gymnastics. Definitely give it a go if you’re looking for a new challenge.
Ransome Oginni: Manager was really accommodating and helpful. Trainer was friendly.
ANDY PIKE: Friendly staff and members and great location
Tippers Pritchard: Great place, great team
Cyrus Wilken: Amazing box, great coaches, lots of kit 💪🏼😎
T Demon: Just tried the taster session with Amy. Absolutely loved it and looking forward to booking the foundation course. Thank you.
Brendon Nicholl: Kids class was great and we are keen to get involved too!
Jodie Bishop: I've been a member of Reading CrossFit for over a year now and I can honestly say it is the best thing I have ever done, it has pushed me mentally and physically and I am a stronger person because of it. The coaches are absolutely amazing and so is the rest of the community and I have even developed new skills since joining. During lockdown, CrossFit has been there for all of its members. Me and my family have been doing zoom workouts most days and it has made the days much more enjoyable.
Chris Stilman: Joined in 2019 and wish I'd joined a lot sooner. I've been a member of various gyms previously but this place is a complete different animal. Seriously high quality coaching from a superb team. A genuine community amongst the members and coaches. It all comes together to make everyone feel comfortable training, whether they are top level athletes training for competitions, or a complete fitness newbie who needs guidance and support. My fitness and strength gains in the last 18 months or so have been far more than I've ever achieved previously. Worth every penny.
rebecca soroko: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityHow do I give more stars!? Life changing place and people. If you're reading this and considering joining. DO IT NOW!
Sean Linge: Noisy
Martin Winch: Been a member for almost half a year now. I have worked a total of almost 5 years in gyms and I have to say this is the only one I will train in from now on. Amazing classes, amazing coaches, amazing owners, and above all amazing community!Couldn't recommend enough!
Charles Holden: My gym of choice, love it
Mike Moran: Amazing coaches and gym
Tala Halawa: Such a great box and a super helpful staff... a very kind and friendly community! 5 stars!
Sara Brayfield: Awesome facility, great people and an excellent venue for the competition I attended

Progressive Fitness Unit: what do users think?
Allahditta Ali: This is the best place to train
Clare Clarke: Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great atmosphere
Ian Emmett: If you want a good work out with an awesome bunch of people then this is the place to be.
Leigh Leigh: 6 weeks ago I decided to change my life and get healthy. On my way to work I saw an ad on Facebook about `The Unit'. It advertised a different way to exercise. A non conventional gym with group training.  I joined the 6 week programme, met James Parker the Head coach and learned about what Progressive Fitness Unit could do for me. He took my measurements and that very day I attended my first training session with Lee, another of the trainers. It was tough but with the support of Lee and the other group members I made it through and was back the next day!! Me the Exercise Hater became a regular and enthusiastic member. 6 weeks are completed and I am happy to say, I have lost 3kg in weight, almost 10% body fat, and 15 inches from around my body!!! This is just the start of my journey!
Arhamis Lazaro Medina: Great atmosphere
Lee Carnaby LCSC: Awesome! Especially the coaches. 👊🏼

The Shredquarters: what do users think?
Fabio L.: Pleasant environment, great friends and engaging sessions. Recommended
Tara Raza: Michael is the best and the gym is so nice and accommodating to all abilities and needs - by far the best gym I have been to in reading and the surrounding area .
Sam I: Very happy to have been recommended this training venue.Great trainers plus brilliant Atmosphere for work outs including Hit/shred and lift.
Claire Balshaw: Best classes and people! Yesterday with Louise & Vanessa was a viiibe! Great motivation and music! Endurance class was tough but so worth it 🔥
James Murray: Amazing gym with friendly staff and community to help you with your fitness.
Rory Armour: Great trainers, all new equipment, good mix of resistance, cardio and now yoga.
chloe tate: Positive:QualitySuch a great way of keeping fit, the team are all lovely and so supportive, its a super fun way of working out and I actually look forward to my workouts in such a fun safe environment. Could not recommend enough!
Matt Slade: Best gym in Reading, tough but fun sessions, organised classes and top notch PTs
Manesh Parmar: Great community vibe in these class sessions. I'm not a gym person but this is completely different with motivating trainers and a great atmosphere. Each class is different and highly recommended
Darryl Gibb: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityThis gym is like having a personal trainer every time you go to the gym but sharing this with great motivated people who help push you to exercise that little bit harder. You can go at your own pace, learn't soo many new exercises and have became the fittest I have ever been.
Mike Parry: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
hugo guianvarch: Great gym, I joined a month ago and can already see the result from a fitness levels. With the current global situation, they are very thorough and clean everything right after our use. Some may say over the top but it helps to feel good to come back on a regular basis.
Daniel C.: I wasn't told by anybody at Shredquarters Reading that I was signing a mandatory 8 weeks contract, I was hurried to sign the papers as the class started already , After 2.5 weeks I got a really bad flu that kept me away from going to the classes for 2 weeks, I decided to stop going to the classes as I was basically giving money away for nothing as I could not train in that condition so I contact them to tell them to stop taking money from my account( they do not set up a debit, they take the money manually each week so you can't stop it) as I can not attend classes due to a cough that went on for a month and only stopped with with antibiotics, they asked me to send the request in an email which I've also done, 2 weeks pass and I notice that they are still taking money from my account each week, I talked to them again and only then they told me that I signed an 8 week rolling contract, they did not tell me about this when I signed it, nor when I told them that I could not attend the classes anymore due to my bad health and asked them to stop taking my money, they told me that I had 3 weeks to run on my account but my account is now settled and no further payment will be taken. Guess what, just yesterday they took my money for another week again. I was told that someone would call to talk to me about this whole situation but nobody did. All of you think twice before getting involved with them.
Adrian Collins: I would be lying if I said I love attending SQ, boy it is tough!! Having done very little training for some 20+ years I was a mess when I joined up in Oct 2016. However, with each class being different and pushing every part of the body, training amongst great fellow members, coupled with fantastic and enthusiastic trainers, nothing will ever compare. Beats the results of any other gym hands down. As I say, I don't always have the motivation to hit the 6am class but I'm always glad I have...............once it's over!! :o)
Adam G: Great range of equipment and different classes. Very instructive coaches.
Erin: I went this morning for the first time, having not exercised in forever. The equipment and space are great and the trainers could not have been any more supportive. I was pushed to keep going (during a pretty brutal but fun and diverse session) while still being allowed to go at my own pace. The environment and atmosphere was great and I will definitely be back!
Mili Anderson: Amazing session every time I attend
Laurence Lupato: Have joined this morning and have meet Carlton and Katherine, I hope I got your names right...great cardio exercise...have found out how unhealthy and how heavy I am..be hoing back Monday morning and might sign up...thank you guys..lovely people as well...highy recommended..
Richard Harris: Quite simply the best circuit training I have ever done. Adam, you are an inspiration. Thank you for everything you have shared.
Rob Jarvis: Best workouts in town.. always different and always challenging. Amazing trainers who will always modify the workouts on the fly if you have any injuries and second to none in terms of getting everyone motivated.Best of all is the SQ community. Real family feel to the place and egos are all checked at the door. Everyone is all in and it’s an even playing field for all.
Yvonne Siggemann: Words cannot describe how much I love my gym. It's not an ordinary gym, thank goodness cause I get bored. Instead, it's instructor led training classes that are HARD even my eyeballs sweat combined with lots and lots of friendly faces. Joined 5 months ago, have lost 7kg and down a dress size... I am a lot stronger too and I feel AMAZING. You go here to push yourself with the support of fellow Shreddies and the Instructors and the rewards are astonishing. Can highly recommend.

The Gym Group Reading Central: what do users think?
chinta hareesh: Nice and hygiene.
Bindu Gopakumar: Great place
beah: TLDR: No longer 24hrs, stressful atmosphere ever since change in working hours, always cramped due to change in working hours. also NO HIP THRUST MACHINE?????? IN 2023?????? it has already been proven that doing hip thrusts without the assistance of a machine can be extremely dangerous for women due to the pressure it puts on our reproductive organs.used to be decent for the membership price (£20), however it is no longer 24hrs and the membership no longer seems worth it. the gym now closes at 10pm, however, it becomes impossible to workout after around 7pm, as staff starts rushing to clean the space which creates a very messy, stressful atmosphere, as you’re trying to workout, there’s someone vacuuming next to you.
Vishnu Somadula: Hello Sir, I really enjoy training in this gym, environment is friendly and machine are very good conditions. However I have only one request to members of staff to please switch On all the light specially in rush time in evening, due lack of brightness the gym ambience looks bit dull.I have been to other branches such as Wembley Park, Feltham and Kingston as well but they don’t that. After talking to one of the member stuff in gym he suggest me to write email to gym about the situation.Thank you
nikki pillai: The most disgusting gym i’ve ever been to for various reasons. Used to come here a couple of years ago and despite being small, the layout was good and not overcrowded. Went back last night after years and firstly it stank of BO in the most vile way possible. Never ever seen such sweaty, smelly people in my life to no fault of their own. The AC was definitely not working, or no ventilation. People were dripping and I could barely breathe in there from the humidity and smell. Also the layout is so overcrowded with equipment so close to each other with no space between people. It’s now no longer open 24/7 either and really ridiculous to close at 10pm. Sort the AC or ventilation, the layout, and the timings please because this membership is so not worth it otherwise. Disgusting!!!
dennis bazitov: The only gym from this company which is not 24hrs, also despite it saying it closes at 10pm the last 2-3 weeks it has just been closing randomly during the day. Very Poor management.Would not recommend
Nevin Li: No longer 24 hours
N Jaz: Clean, friendly staff and great gym.
Rahul Goswami: This is the best place to get toned and ripped.
Sibashish Mohapatro: Great place to workout. Superb space, equipments & trainers. Its been 4 years plus now. I live 40 mins away by bus, but still come to the same gym.Shabaz been very helpful in attending small stuffs. Plus all others - Gian, Owen, etc.Cherios.
Ruxandra Gheorghiu: always the best experience. amazing location and everyone is so friendly! can't recommend the gym reading central enough!
Ghazala Fasal: Amazing gym and amazing welcoming and helpful staffThank you guys
Megan Davidson: Myself and my partner come to The Gym Reading Central consistently! The PT’s and GM are always super friendly and welcoming, and are always on hand if you need any help. The equipment is brilliant, and it has a brilliant atmosphere in general!
Alana Samuel: clean, good staff
Brendan Arndt: I joined The Gym when my Anytime Fitness went bankrupt. I was hesitant to as The Gym Central is much bigger and a lot more people. But I never feel intimidated here. Lots of mat space and free weights. I have done lots of the classes and the staff are super friendly too 👌
Anne marie Pejcic: Lovely staff and place to work out
nick bowcock: Since joining a few months ago, I’m glad to report that the staff on the floor are always helpful and smiling and the general feel of the whole gym is accepting while some gyms can feel intimidating.Always clean and tidy with good equipment!
Em jai: Fab gym and amazing friendly staff!
Ready2 Spray: Wild in less than a month you slash opening times from 24hr to closing at 10pm - and now you're raising membership fee!!Hope you go bust
hettyu 347: Amazing gym with great staff such as Shabaz and chad, deffo recommend.
Jeet Doshi: Great gym with all equipments. Best part of this gym are the classes that takes place everyday. Staff if good and friendly in nature.

CrossFit Aldermaston: what do users think?
Harry Gooderham: Incredible facility and very friendly members and staff. Would love to go back!
Phil: I spent a couple of days working in Reading, so contacted CrossFit Aldermaston for a drop in to tide me over until I was back at my usual gym. Helen was really helpful and the session was very straightforward to sort out.The members in at 6.00am were great, all of them super welcoming and friendly. Class was well coached and the gym was really well kitted with plenty to go around. Well worth a visit, and I’ll hopefully be back next time I’m local.
Rebecca Lowe: Fantastic place! Went to a few drop in sessions while home over Christmas - being new to CrossFit the coaches were brilliant at teaching technique and giving advice, equipment was great and everyone was very welcoming. Highly recommend to anyone new or experienced!

C P: Visited this CrossFit box as a "drop in" (visitor) whilst working in Reading in August 2019. Emailed them beforehand and received a warm response saying I'd be welcome. Turned up at 6.00am and was welcomed by all the other attendees :) Great session, supportive and challenging. Well worth a visit as a drop in (& undoubtedly as a member) Thank you!

Anytime Fitness Reading: what do users think?
Ray Zee: Very bad service. My husband paid up-front for the whole year and the Gym went under administration. No help or support offered. No other branch is helping either. You are warned.
Helene N: It a nice place to do exercise. It's really great, that it's open 24 hours.
Tom Smith: Gym looks like it has been shut since December, no warning from the owners and they've taken 2 months payment since then. Cancel your direct debits
Dragos “John” Mihalcea: It's closed. Really sad. I met so many great people here. Had so many banger workouts too.Well, all good things come to an end. Right?
Desislava Todorova: Gym was really good, nice equipment and trainers, but premises have been shut with very short notice and no money returns. Very Poor management!
Brendan Arndt: I joined here 6 Months ago. Its a really great gym and the staff are fantastic. But they have now reduced the free workout space to a tiny corner of the gym and there is a massive boxing bag in it. Several times now myself and others who want to use this space with the mats can't as there is a personal training class going on or someone is boxing and taking up the space. I don't think I will be renewing my membership here going forward.
Laurence Goodacre: First visit was fairly uneventful in a good way. Had a slight issue finding the entrance with the volume of building work being undertaken at the current time. Good selection of machines and weights and a wide variety of quite weird and wonderful machines. If you're a member it's well worth the visit if you're in the area.
Peter Queripel: Good gym but they’re tight with the air con. Always too hot.
R H: Just had a refurb, looks fantastic.Doesn't get too busy and friendly.
eddard 16: Best gym in Reading
Ahmed Marzook: Great gym, they have all the equipment you really would need, but some of the weights are definetly old and outdated but do the job.
Ben Robertson: Aweful. I used there very par level gym for a few months. Ran into some issues to take care of in my personal life so I decided to pause the membership for a few months. The nice woman on the phone told me that she had done so and that they would call me once the few months had gone to see about unpausing it. NEVER received a call from them. I tried calling them wanting to explain I was still sorting things out and wanted it paused further. They never replied and simply restarted payments that at the time I couldn’t pay so I cancelled the direct debit. As it stands now they have called on the services of a debt collection company (CCS) to charge me just over £50. That is not a fee charged here for 1 month or two so they have just come up with a random or at least unexplained figure. I have paid it as I am honest and don’t like money over my head. This could have all been sorted if this company was courteous enough to just pick up the phone and talk about it. Instead they hire bailiffs to collect unexplained fees that are above and beyond what there services could ever be worth! Utterly disgusted with how this has been dealt with.
Darren: For the size of Reading as a town I was surprised on my first visit to this gym that it was so small. Also very dark in dingy - although the building has scaffolding outside so I guess that’s restricting the light. I saw quite a few out of order signs on equipment. The changing rooms were odd, and also not very clean. I’m gonna try the one in Woodley next time. The one in Newbury is amazing, and I guess I was expecting the Reading one to be even better.
Simona Sergieva: Customer service is absolutely awful! At no point during my first "free" session and then signing the membership I was told that the membership commitment was 12 months. Absolutely nothing was explained - T` and C`, equipment, amenities - nothing. All I was told was "well this is the gym floor, here we have classes, behind you is the bathroom, leave your bag here". Not to mention that their system was not working so they couldnt complete my membership. I was told though that I can still use gym and will complete the forms "when the system starts working". Well a few days later I went to the gym, key fob not working and I was kept waiting outside for 25min because "oh sorry I didnt hear the door bell".I have sent an email on 1st of January giving my 30 day notice to cancel my membership and got a phone call back on 4th Jan saying "you cannot cancel as your commitment is 12 months. Also January payment already went through and since you sent your email on the 1st January you will have to pay February as well". It was a shock to find out later that day that my membership was "inactive" even though I was told over the phone I have paid for January!!! Absurd!! All they care about is taking the money!
Steve: Positive:QualityWell equipped, clean, all exercise stations well apart, well run and looked after. 24 hour access - once all of the local building works are complete it will look a lot better from the outside.
Laura VR: A sad experience. After trying to work out once restrictitions were lifted. One personal trainer approach me to complete the MOT that is coming for free in your membership, and another day free of personal trainer too. Unfortunately the person was horrible to me, with her comments, you could see that she was judging me and making comments like, you should be stronger and fit with the job that you do…. Anyways I gave her another opportunity and she almost killed me in 15 minutes, she did not plan the session at all as she said she will, and she put me too much weight. She almost injured me, the next week I couldn’t even walk properly, I never feel that kind of pain. I stopped going to the gym, I sent the complain to the manager, which he answer me and told me that this person left the gym and was no longer with them, and they were sorry about my experience and they will give me a free month. Unfortunately I move to another gym, but I guess that at least they are compassionate and listen to you. The gym is good, specially in the morning that is less people. A bit pricey but it’s what it is.
Giuseppe De Chellis: Nice place for get yourself workout , good equipment and good and friendly staff,
Toader Iulia: After working hard, you can lay on the hydromasagge bed ❤️
Peter Green: Excellent gym and staff
George J: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,QualityDirty moldy bathrooms. Dispensers accusing broken.
Mirecki W: The service is not very nice. The trainers think this is their private gym. They leave their trucks at the crossings, which is very dangerous. No boss to indicate where they belong. I do not recommend
