On completion of work a NACS chimney sweep completes safety checks and issues a Certificate of Chimney Sweeping to be signed by the customer and also recommends when future cleaning is necessary.
As a NACS Chimney Sweep I have undertaken a rigorous training course and successfully completed a full assessment prior to becoming a NACS Chimney Sweep Member. All NACS Chimney Sweep Members must hold valid Public Liability insurance as a Chimney Sweep, of which they provide a copy of to the Association on an annual basis. They must also have the correct equipment to be able to undertake the job which is checked at the time of their assessment.
As a NACS chimney sweep we work strictly to the NACS Code of Practice 1982 and Code of Conduct for the cleaning of chimneys.
* Prices start from £65 with a 10% discount for multiple sweeps in the same property or if you can book with your neighbours in the same street.
* Every precaution will be made to leave your home as I found it. This involves using 'walk in' sheets and hearth sheets to cover your surfaces before sweeping commences.
I use the best approved HEPA three stage filtered vacuum for a professional clean and tidy chimney sweep.
* During the breeding season (March - August) nests cannot be removed if birds are incubating eggs or caring for young.
* Gas fires generally require a qualified gas engineer to disconnect and reconnect the gas before and after the flue sweeping. Please call if in doubt.

Despite having an open fireplace and wanting a log burner, John & Scott couldn't find an open chimney so instead came up with a stylish and elegant solution that looks just as good. Their attention to detail, work ethic, cleanliness and professionalism is to be commended. Great experience, great outcome and highly recommend the team.
Keith Johns: We were very pleased with the installation of a wood-burning stove by Fireplace Magic. John, Josh and Scott were careful, polite and thorough in their work and they gave us all the necessary information for the on-going care and use of the stove. I had arranged with our neighbour that it would be possible to place a ladder on top of their garage in order to reach our chimney and I was impressed with the care taken to protect the roof before setting up the ladder. Although delayed by a few minutes he kept us informed by text when he would arrive. He was very organised did an excellent job of cleaning and inspecting our chimney. Everything was kept clean and tidy. All done at a reasonable price. Overall very pleased.

Graham was asked to sweep our chimney, as we had been experiencing some difficulty in getting the wood stove lit properly. After an initial inspection and a summary of what was found, he set to and began to sweep the flue.He had no way of knowing just how badly chogged up our chimney was before he began! The rod driven brushes were struggling to break through the collected soot and when they finally broke through, the amount of soot that came into the stove itself was nothing short of a bucketful.Graham patiently explained the do's and don'ts of how to get the best from the stove and which fuels to make use of, and we were both surprised and slightly taken aback at how inefficiently we had been using the stove since its installation some years previous. We listened and absorbed the information being imparted, clearly someone knew their subject and was happy to explain it in a clear and non-judgmental manner.If you are looking for a professional sweep, you've found your man!
