Chris Andrews: Due to how the room is set up, it was just too loud, even other guests commented on this. Service was good at best, maybe they couldn't hear our requests. Soup was nice.Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More

Iulian Turicianu: Not only was the food delicious, but also the staff working there was very friendly and helpful! They let me keep the bike in a safe space and everyone who came to serve us was lovely. Because I’ve celebrated my birthday I even got a surprise present! It was a very nice evening, so I recommend them 100%!Recommended dishes Cheese Board …More

Isa Jo: Nice atmosphere and friendly team. The food was presented nicely and tasted okay. The menu was very long, so we wondered if anyone would be able to prepare so many different things fresh every day. For what it is, a little overpriced.
Alasdair MacK: Dishes packed with flavour, served by attentive and responsive restaurant staff.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Chris Lagkadinos: Tasty food, lovely staff, great location and nice ambience. Slightly pricey for Reading, but we kinda excused it, cause of the reasons above. The experience went south the moment we received the bill. Having a look at the picture attached, it is easy to figure out that the optional service charge is not on the VAT receipt, but written manually on a piece of paper. Which means that this 12.5% service charge goes straight into the owner's pocket, without paying taxes for it, without any control of that amount whatsoever. It was also easy to figure out that the actual 12.5% of £110.70 is £13.83, not £14. But they decided to round it up to £14! Do I have to mention that £110.70+£14 doesn't equal £125?!? That is another 30p round up, because why not?It is a disgrace for the hospitality industry and a straight up theft to charge a fake and random gratuity amount. Shame! Not sure if this is an offence that the police should be involved in...
Barnaby Brampton: I did have a really enjoyable meal here and they staff were all very friendly and attentive. I was quite disappointed with the food, compared with other places that are a similar price this didn't feel good value, everything just felt like it was missing a finishing touch or something. I also was a bit surprised that dispite the fact a meal this price is a real special treat for me, most people there seemed to just be popping out for a casual meal. The food here felt more suited to that sort of event. However, the staff were very good and hospitable so maybe that makes it worth it for you.
Matthew Griffith: Excellent food, fantastic service and in a lively setting. Great to eat at somewhere independent and local in Reading rather than the many chains that are around. Would highly recommend!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Yvie Crocks: A great dining experience. First time there but it definitely won't be the last.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Dickens Bar and Brasserie: what do users think?
Bikal Shresthawwq1z,: Over charged us on beer pint . Only one toilet per gender which is very inconvenient when the place has few people
Paul Church: Lovely lunch and atmosphere
Emiel Noppe: Perfect
Fc Javier Garcia Torres: Very good
Richard Allum: Ok bit expensive for me.
Chris B: Nice atmosphere
Jillian Patricia: A lunch with friends, excellent food, lovely venue. Although it was very busy the staff were friendly and spot on. Really enjoyed our meal.
Elena Quinn: Food is ok, generous portions, I like their Indian vegetarian dishes. They have two areas; a pub and an Indian restaurant. The staff is not to welcoming and seems to be annoyed when you ask to be served outside in the patio or indian food in the pub.
Dave Roy: Average
Nigel T. Brown: Lovely coffee even if a little pricey
Sumesh Thazhath: Don't go with kids. Waiters are non friendly, especially if you are with kids. Avoid at all course. Hope at one day they will understand you can't teach a 2 year old for not to make sound and roam around.
