Lisa Loveridge: Rooms: Comfortable, room 5 spacious and everything you needed for your stay.Nearby activities: Clarence pier 5 minutes walk. Food and seaside fare available. Catch the hover craft from there also. Gun whafe quay 20 minutes walk along the seafront. Designer outlet for shopping and The Spinnaker tower too.Walkability: 20 minutes walk to quay and city centerFood & drinks: Breakfast was top notch and great value for money
David Whiting: A great stay. The hotel is very cosy. The host were wonderful and had a lovely breakfast. Very comfortable room and clean.
Pete Clark: - but the owner didn’t want to let his booked guests down and, admirably, strove on. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, he fully ensured that we were still well catered for and that our every need was met upon arrival. His care didn’t stop there: my wife was unwell on arrival and so, in addition to ensuring her wellbeing, her breakfast the next day was as ‘stomach friendly’ as possible, while I had one of his Mum’s most fantastic sausage butties

Rowan Chalmers: Does what it says on the tin. Budget place to stop for a quick trip.Room cleanliness was fine, contrary to other reviews.Staff were super friendly and welcoming, which certainly makes the hotel worth it.The location was great. Every destination I needed to visit for my short stay was only 10 minutes walk away.Similar to another review, the shower was SUPER hot. I came out looking like a cooked lobster.The deposit seemed a bit intimidating but I got my money back no hassle, so it's fine.

Jennie Martin: This hotel is excellent value if you want a budget option. Sure, the room and bathroom were basic but they were fresh and spotlessly clean and everything you need was provided. Our room was completely quiet - ask for a room located at the back if traffic noise bothers you. The manager was charming and helpful and the other two staff we dealt with briefly were fine.Walkability: It's 15 minutes walk from both Portsmouth city centre and the docks area.Food & drinks: The hotel doesn't offer food but The Chambers just a few doors down is an excellent restaurant/café/bar.

David Kay: I can only speak for bedroom N⁰2 but this b&b ticked all my boxes and I've enjoyed my 8 nights here. Very welcoming friendly Owner, the bedroom was just as I needed with en-suite, good WiFi, nice little wall mounted smart tv, location is good for the town centre and there is a CoOp only a 3 minute walk plus there is a Council e-scooter stand close by, I would certainly stay again.🙏
Tru: Iris the owner is so friendly and made me very welcome throughout my few days there. Her FE breakfast consisting of Bacon, beans, egg, mushrooms, tomatos, sausages, hash browns and toast was superb although I opted out of the hb's....a bit of black pudding instead of the hash browns would be more my liking. A slight problem with the TV was sorted by the next morning but I spent most days/evenings out so no biggy really. My only gripe is the bed, as I was in the top single ensuite, the bed was a bit too soft for my liking but the sea air got me to sleep in no time. I would definitely stay at iris' again but hopefully in a double - I booked too late otherwise she will try to accommodate if available.

Steven Payne: This is a budget hotel / B&B and I stayed in the top floor single en-suite room for three days. The facilities were clean and everything worked well. The shower was hot, the room was small but adequate, the wall heaters worked and there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There is no lift to the top floor, but the stairs are manageable. The hotel provided a pass for on-street parking outside, and it is very close to the seafront and a short walk from nearby shops.The owners are friendly and breakfast was provided.I have stayed in hotels costing 2 to 3 times as much which were not as good, and would say that this one is ideal if you are simply wanting a reasonably priced place to stay when visiting Portsmouth.I would certainly book again.
