Portsmouth Historic Dockyard: what do users think?

Helen Potts: So much to see and do, we didn't get to do as much as we wanted so we will definitely have to come back for another visitVisited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Wayne Hayward: So much to see! One day is not enough.Visited on Public holiday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Adam White: looking around and still didn't have time to cover everything. Spent the first day mostly at the submarine museum over in Gosport - absolutely phenomenal, the water taxi is also quite fun to get over there. HMS Alliance is amazing and the guides on board were really interesting and helpful. The rest of the museum is also good but was a bit of a rush for us. The harbour cruise was an absolute highlight - goes all around Portsmouth in just under an hour, sees lots of warships, aircraft carriers, defences, and more. Boathouse 4 is also pretty good to look around.Spent our second day in the main dockyard. HMS Warrior is amazing - loads to see, great guides on board in character, love the engines. The Victory was of course amazing too, although there's very, very limited headroom. Hardy must have struggled

László Szabó: must see attraction! Not an overhyped nothingness like many stuff in London or countryside, but a real living history! Absolutely loved it!Visited on Public holiday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

T Gartshore: You will have a great day here. So much to do. I bought the ultimate ticket. The only problem is that the place is that big you'll probably need a few days to get around it all. Just make sure you plan it well.I'm going to have to go back again to make the most of the tickets. It lasts all year. Everything I saw was 1st class . All the staff were very friendly and so helpful. You can even get chauffeured around docks on a golf buggy. Just ask the driver if you see any pulled over and tell them where you want to go and they won't hesitate. You might get lucky like me and see the aircraft carrier in the dock.

Kevin Minihane: Very interesting and thoughtful exhibition. The ship that has survived longer than most. It has told a tale of a sailors lifeVisited on Weekend Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended No …

Paul Bancroft: Genuinely astonished at how good it is. Not just the Mary Rose - the variety is amazing.Very thought provokingVisited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

Paige Charman: Been here several times and love the little museums here and walking around.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait …

Genadijs Gerasimovs: Southsea Castle offers a captivating blend of history and scenic beauty. As a history enthusiast, my visit was a delightful journey through time. The castle's well-preserved architecture and informative exhibits provided a fascinating glimpse into its rich past. The panoramic view of the Solent from the castle ramparts is truly breathtaking. It's a perfect spot to appreciate the sea breeze and soak in the beauty of the coastline. The strategic location of Southsea Castle adds an extra layer of intrigue to the overall experience.

Vinny Samuel: It’s a beautiful scenic spot to capture the visions of the sea and the sun. Been here on a weekday; though the castle is currently closed you can still hang out around the castle. You will see lot of people enjoying the sea breeze and if you have a penchant for sea- you will love this. There is a paid street parking which is fairly cheap. Highly recommend this place of you ever visit Portsmouth.

Ayumi: There is also a souvenir shop and restaurant. If the weather is good, you can see the opposite shore beautifully.

Pepster: If you like tudor history this is a great place to visit. It's free to enter, even if the keep is closed you can still gain access to the outer yard and cafe etc. Some fantastic views across the solent towards the Isle of Wight. Sadly ongoing works on the sea defences prevented direct access to the beach.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait …

Paul King: Great to explore

Glenda Truscott: Excellent venue. Very disabled friendly for this type of place.
