User FAQs

Victoria Park offers a multi-use games area, a small cycling track, a large playground, and flat tarmac paths for easy access for prams and wheelchairs.

Visitors can access Victoria Park using public transport with bus stops along Molesworth Road to the west of the park. There is also unrestricted parking available on some adjacent roads.

Before the creation of the park, the area was saltmarshes known as Deadlake. The park was originally designed to be completed for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 1897, but wasn't completed until 1905. The former park keeper's lodge is located in the centre of the park.

The Friends of Victoria Park group organizes and takes part in a range of activities throughout the year to support the park. They are always looking for new members to help them in their mission to keep the park special for everyone.

Visitors have mentioned that Victoria Park is a great place for walking, cycling, playing sports, and enjoying the playground. It is dog-friendly and has a lovely space for a day out with kids. The park is well-maintained and offers a variety of activities for children and adults alike.
