Melanie welcomes you into her home and quickly puts you at ease. She has infinite patience and is ready with praise and encouragement which is just what I need as a mature beginner. But above all it is her enthusiasm both for teaching and for music in general that is her best quality.

Melanie taught my daughter violin getting her to Grade 3 and securing a distinction in her exam. She is a wonderful player and very inspiring for any student. What I really enjoyed about her teaching was how willing she was to encourage a wide variety of musical tastes and her openness to go in any any direction that interested my daughter. This really engaged my daughter and kept up her enthusiasm. Lessons were fun and lively; at the same time Melanie was keen for her to make progress.

Magnus is learning to play the piano with Melanie, at her warm and welcome house. He is enjoying his lessons and making good progress. Melanie is a patient teacher who knows just the right way to communicate with children, and engage them in their learning. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a music teacher.

I have had two lessons with Melanie so far - we discussed what my aims were and we agreed we would follow a plan. Melanie writes down her advice from each lesson in a notepad so that it doesn't disappear into a vortex. I find her approach to teaching very constructive - she observes and then provides advice on how to improve. Melanie has comprehensive experience from studying, playing and teaching.
