HonkyTonk Wine Library: what do users think?
David Easton: Went for a birthday meal ,on arrival met by a lovely waitress who showed us our table then brought us the menu and a complimentary glass of bubbly for my birthday, she explained the menu suggested the sharing platter for two ,we had the fish one with garlic prawns on her recommendation glad we did food was excellent and well presented, she suggested wine to have with it again excellent choice, lovely relaxed setting have already booked to go back for our anniversary
Andrew King: Fabulous aa usual
Jodie: I love this place! It's cosy and chic with wonderful, knowledgeable staff. They're happy to help wine enthusiast with zero actual understanding of wine (like me) and will give you great recommendations based on your tastes. Yummy veggie sharing platter plus a side of chicken wings (I know!) had last time I was there, and some delicious limoncello-spritzs the time before. They also have a little stash of board games, can't beat a bar with a board game!
Charles Furborough: Family run with years of knowledge, these guys have the wine bar vibe nailed down.Highly recommend HonkyTonk if you’re searching for a plate and a glass of something wonderful. With a constantly transforming menu, and themes ranging from Jazz to Jamaican Independence - this library is anything but boring.NB: get the salmon and eggs for breakfast; it’s delicious.
Mark Lang: Once again the Honkytonk absolutely nails it, fantastic food and great service. I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be for lunch on a sunny afternoon. Thank you. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
linda shields: Loved it! Food was excellent as were the wines - recommend a platter to share with a flight of wines each! Service first class.
Fannie Byrd: As always impeccable food and service. Looking forward to our next visit.
Andrew French: Brilliant!
Minako Ishibashi: *30 May 2023*Didn't try any food, so can't comment on that point, but the atmosphere and the selection of wine they have was amazing - many of which I have never seen or heard before. There is a wine list, but you can also chose wine from their shelves - which is more fun, in my opinion!Wine's we had:Jade Dove Red (Cabernet Sauvignon + merlot) - Rich nose, full body, yet perfect balance of taste... bold and dry yet smooth and soft.Calancombe Estate Blanc De Noirs - Bubbles. Slightly on the acidic side, yet perfect for aperitif or to enjoy outside on a sunny day.Staffs were very attentative and always making sure of we were doing alright or wanted anything else :)
S. Louise T: The food was so good it gave me nightmares. Fear was stricken within my very soul. I'm actually scared that I will never be served a vegetarian platter as painfully good as this.
Fishbloke 75: Absolutely faultless!!!Love the knowledge and attention to detail!! Phenomenal!!I’m not easily impressed but I’m always blown away by these guys…
Emma Mabin: Amazing place
SV Falcon: Fabulous place. Great food and wine. An up market but cosy ambience accompanied by attentive and personal service. It doesn’t come cheap but it is still great value.
rhaa Monkey: Really nice, great atmosphere, enjoyable venue and nice service
Lilian Chapman: Has a great atmosphere wether you come for coffee and cake , breakfast or a more planned meal. Roasts are so good !! Well worth a visit
Rachel Neal: Splendid food, setting and wine. Sunday roast is good value. Friendly staff.
Wei Fong Lim: Good choice of wine to drink. It was very busy when I visited.
Thomas Coles: Well presented sharing platters and good wine selection - the wine flights are good fun. Recommend not driving home
Phil Fletcher: Lovely friendly staff, with a nice chilled vibe. I was surprised how many of our friends hadn't heard of this place. We had the infamous sharing player for two (thought it was slightly overpriced, at £60) and it did not disappoint. Lots of tasty flavours, with plenty to go around. We had their organic cola, which was flavoursome and less gassy than your typical brand. Over all, a great place for a couple, or for a group event. Next time, we'll not be driving- bring on the wine 🍷
Will Scott: Spent a rather enjoyable 4 hours lunch catching up with a friend over excellent wine and a fantastic deli platter. The baked camembert was out of this world.Fitz, the owner, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The staff were attentive but not too in our faces. We were seated outside on a sunny day, overlooking the harbour, and time just flew.Being from Manchester, I found this to be exceptional value for money, at least 1/3 cheaper than I'm used to.Already booked in again to try the seafood platter in a couple of weeks time.If you're reading this Fitz, open your second in Westhoughton!
suzie Burridge: Fantastic experience from great food, excellent selection of wines and spirits with recommendations. The staff are extremely attentitive and want to ensure you are happy. First class team, well done. Definitely recommend and will visit again.
