The Artillery Tower: what do users think?

Ryan Janisch: greyhound along. The food was absolutely outstanding, from the bread to the soup appetiser, to the amazing crab starter, to the delicious fish main with perfectly cooked sides

Joanne Baillie: It was our first visit last night & we were not disappointed.Service was top class, we felt like VIPs. Log fire set the scene & the food was amazing.Would definitely recommend & will be back with my family xDietary restrictions: Catered really well for Gluten free.Parking: Just needed to register car registration for free parking up untill 8pm.

Na. P.: Fantastic restaurant! Rustic atmosphere and great service. There was a choice between a two or three course menu and there were three to four variations per menu. The drinks menu and especially the wine list had a lot to offer. The restaurant is run by a man and a woman. He cooks and she ensures the good service. It was a really great evening. In total there is space for around 20 guests. You have to make a reservation here! Spontaneous doesn't work - it's a good thing because there were simply no walk-in customers and that made the whole thing even more comfortable.Highly recommended!

Mary Russell: was delicious! At the end of the meal, Peter the chef came out of the kitchen and spoke to each table. A real personal touch. I cannot wait to return...

Senses Candles: My first visit here for my husband’s birthday and I was amazed by the quality of food, the atmosphere, the warmth of Debbie and the stunning views. Everything was exceptional and I am looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend Artilery Tower!

Richard Honey: Definitely the best restaurant in Plymouth. Very limited number of covers so well worth booking in advance as is checking whats going to be on the menu. 8 of us went there for my mates 62nd birthday meal and everything was spot on. Belly pork was full of flavour, the rack of lamb was cooked perfectly pink and fillet of beef was as soft as sponge. If you like dauphinoise potatoes you will be in heaven here. Will certainly be back for any other special meals.

Al Hodgson: This was the 2nd visit to this chain but another location. Since the 1st visit I'd heard about a few complaints. I was surprised so paid attention to these points by other guides. I've checked the bathrooms as there was a problem reported. I didn't find any problem not to say something was amiss at another time. See photos. However the problems with "service" did exist hence the loss of stars. Waiters seem to disappear even when told we had been waiting too long. The head chief had to shout for service of our desserts in a very loud voice & seemed angry. The other guide described our experience so we see a kinck in the service area. I'll leave readers to study the various reports. Shame as the food here was very good. We will go again to this chain but will be watching.Parking: Nearby paid parking available. Wheelchair access.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy flat access.

Coral Wilson: : delicious but could do with more sauce but personal preferenceMainsLamb: Cooked perfectly pink - small downside was 2 tiny potatoes but husband demolished it fast enough!Chicken foriestiere: delicious succulent chicken - sauce was nice and rich- a lot of spinach but ate allOverall visit : 9/10We will be revisiting

Jolly Jolly: Had a great meal last night, great food and wine. The service was also great and didn't feel rushed. The only thing we didn't like was the discretionary 10% tip. You can ask for it to be removed but it makes you feel uncomfortable, although we did and left what we felt was the right amount without being told what to leave....Overall a lovely evening.

john palfrey: Good friendly service Can get busy at timesDietary restrictions: They are happy you telling them your dietary requirementsWheelchair accessibility: Ramp up to reception and lift to penthouse level

Cameron Copp: BrilliantDietary restrictions: N/aParking: Just outside of the hotel.

Sian Bennett: We had arranged a friends baby shower here with afternoon tea. Prior to our booking we were very well looking after by Brittany who helped to organise our day! When we got there on the morning to decorate before the rest of our party arrived, we were looked after by Dan who was brilliant nothing was too much, and he was so helpful making sure we had everything we needed. They catered for vegetarians and took anyone who had any allergies very serious, we felt very well looked after. Was a perfect day, and extremely helpful staff, and the afternoon tea was lovely.

The Boathouse: what do users think?

Mark Canham: Had beautiful brunch here several times. All the food came together and was fresh and hot. There was a mistake on the order which they rectified immediately without any fuss and were very apologetic, superb service! Reasonably priced for such a premium location, you can see all the boats coming in and out of Sutton Harbour.Parking: 5min walk with a steep slope or some steps.

Lindsay Mason: Great seafood lovely friendly service. Melissa our server was awesome. the chef went above and beyond dealing with my wife's onion intolerance. all in all a great lunch with exceptional service.Vegetarian options: good varietyDietary restrictions: onion intolerance dealt with sympathetically

Grace Jackson: This place was perfect- great view of the water and just paces away from the aquarium. Prices were fair, and the amount of food you get is generous- I got the mussels and couldn't believe how many were in there! The staff was nice and let us order from the lunch menu early. Thank you to our server Kevin!

Yusuke Hori: The Boathouse Plymouth is a must-see restaurant for great food and a great atmosphere! Here you can enjoy fresh seafood and dishes made with local ingredients. The lobster and fish and chips are especially delicious, so be sure to try them! The interior of the restaurant has a sea atmosphere, and the atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Also, since it's close to the coast, you can enjoy your meal while looking out at the ocean from the window! It's a great place to visit for lunch or dinner, or to celebrate a special occasion with friends and family. If you're in Plymouth, be sure to stop by The Boathouse for delicious food and a great time!

Sophie Kirkham: There are times in life when the paradisal and delightful treat of a Michelin-starred restaurant meal is possible; Our turn was on Valentine's evening at Àclèaf and the meal was exquisite. Savouring the flavours of every mouthful was so much of a joy, and we were waited on by the most kind and considerate team. Phenomenal courses that consumed me enough that I couldn't talk to my ever-loving husband at points because the flavours were divine and all my attention needed to be on them. If you can go and treat yourself I am 100% confident that you will have a dining experience you remember until you go there again.Vegetarian options: lotsDietary restrictions: I can't eat alliums and the Chef and team made sure I had an exceptional meal.Parking: Acleaf is at The Boringdon Hotel with large car parks

William Townsend: Could not fault a thing, my friends had the paired wine menu and were completely blown away. Will go back, and soon!Vegetarian options: Did not require but were availableDietary restrictions: Very aware of our requirements

Mark PW: Imaginative tasting menu prepared and served to the highest standards.Michelin star well deserved for taste and presentation. The service was almost better than the food with staff who were impeccably trained and knew the food in detail. The explanations of the dishes were occasionally a little rushed and mumbled which meant I had to ask for them to be repeated. The website does not do the restaurant any favours with no photographs of the dining area and a confusing description of where you are to be seated. My only disappointment given the elegant food was the mediocre dining room. Whilst clean and smart enough, it had no thought given to decor or atmosphere, it just wasn’t interesting or special enough to match the food.

Joli Bee: Absolutely divine food! For the starters I had the famed scallops, which was very fresh and complimented with the use of sour apple flavours. Then I had the crab which was absolutely the best! Such a unique yet magical blend of flavours. For the main I had the wagyu, which was melt in your mouth. For the pre dessert they made you play a paper game at the beginning and they use that to figure out what dessert you would prefer! Very creative, not the mention the dessert was amazing. For the bread I loved the goat butter with honey on top.Service was attentive. They noticed that my partner was left handed and moved the utensils to the left for his convenience. All in all it was a perfect dining experience which I would 100% recommend to anyone who plans to visit.

Gary O'Brien: Access via the bar area. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, in keeping with the surroundings, with some separate areas. You order your 4 dishes, one from each group. You are started with bread and other nibbles made by the kitchen, followed by your dish selection, which is timed perfectly not to rush you, but not waiting too long either. You also get an extra pre-dessert dish. Excellent food and sevice, a great evening. The dishes are large and the meals are small, but pack a punch in taste and refinement.

Georgina T: A superb dining experience here for our anniversary dinner. Firstly, the service could not be faulted, the staff were attentive but not intrusive, very friendly and welcoming. The only option for food is to have their four course dining experience but there are three options to choose from for each of the four courses. Before our official meal we had some starters including some cured meats, freshly baked bread, pork cheek arancini style balls with truffle powder and potato with Asian nashi tartlet. For the first course we had the scallop and cremet, second course we had the truffle risotto and squab, third course was highland wagyu and sole and finally fourth course dessert we had the chocolate miso and duck egg options. They gave us a complimentary pre-dessert based on a selection of shapes & colours we chose at the start of our meal, not to mention ice cream sandwiches as an anniversary treat and a take home gift of homemade chocolates. With every dish you could just tell the effort that the chefs went through to put the plate together both visually and taste wise each dish had a unique flavour, but not overpowering. Honestly, truly outstanding culinary delights in our opinion. They also gave us complimentary glasses of their Gusbourne sparkling white wine to start, and my husband enjoyed a glass of Walt Riesling and Banyuls Rimage dessert wine during our meal which we're recommended by the staff as a pairing to the course options he chose and he absolutely loved them both.We loved this dining experience, the atmosphere, the food, and the wine was just perfect. Even though it was fine dining it was not one of those uptight dining experiences, it was down to earth and very pleasant. The chefs came out at certain points in the meal as well to give us an introduction to the dishes which we enjoyed and the table staff really knew the details of the menu very well. We dined for about two hours in total and left feeling very satisfied. High praise to the wonderful chefs, table staff and everyone else behind the scenes for an excellent meal and dining experience that we'll always remember. Would highly recommend and would come back again if we're back in this area.

Clarissa Splotzina: Fabulous food for vegetarians, very nice staff, and very accommodating to me with my assistance dog. I will definitely return if I'm in the area again.

Connor: Fine dining at its finest.Superb front of house staff that endeavour to look after your every need.Wonderful chefs that have mastered their art and produce deceptively simple dishes that explode onto the plate with flavour and passion.Stunning grounds and a brilliant air of sophistication and tranquility. If you can afford it, it's a must try. One of very few true culinary experiences in Plymouth. And as of just yesterday, a michelin starred one.

Joss: Recommended dishes Wine Pairing

Alice Hobbs: and the staff were all absolutely wonderful. We’ll definitely be back!

Keith henson: Fantastic food great service and a lovely peaceful atmosphere. The staff are very attentive. Lovely evening.Parking: Parking is available in the public carpark a few meters from the restaurant

Allen James: After the usual online search for places to eat, we found Fletchers and was impressed by the reviews and social media publicity. The food was on point and it matched everything we expected. Maybe food portions could be a little more. We chose from the 530 to 600pm meal deal for approx 25 each. The ambience and cleanliness was fine. Nothing to gripe about.Service was attentive but overheard other tables waitress having to apologise and ask for information again, so maybe just new or a confidence thing. Again not a disaster for anyone. The biggest and most concerning complaint from us was upon arrival we were made to wait outside in the rain and cold until they opened at 530pm. The issue was our table was booked for a strict 530 to 7pm window, so you would expect to be arriving a few mins early to have a drink in the bar and then be seated. What you should be doing is making your table times 10 or 15 mins later than your opening times to allow for this. There was another lady who arrived 15 mins early to meet friends who was elderly and cold. By allowing customers to arrive and relax into their evening would allow you to sell more drinks before they are seated and more importantly make the experience more enjoyable for the customer.Lots of positives but some tweaks needed.

Geoffrey Jones: Great tasting menu

Metal Potato: Fletchers Restaurant embodies the ideal dining experience – exceptional fine dining, a welcoming team of knowledgeable and friendly staff, and owners committed to engaging personally with customers. Owner Jess in particular is always a joy to speak with! It's reminiscent of a visit with family, where you feel genuinely welcomed and special. The memorable service, coupled with incredible food, leads me to wholeheartedly recommend Fletchers! With thanks,Andrew MacDonald

Megan Green: Beautiful meal at Desire. All of the food was excellent and really well presented. We recommend the spaghetti bolognese and pene bufala - both dishes were packed full of flavour and were generous portions too.The tiramisu for dessert is also a must! The ambience was so cosy throughout the restaurant and the service was excellent. enes demirci: Margarita was very good, calamari as starter looked nice. There was no problem other than the waiters wanting us to eat everything on the menu 😄Prices are at average levels.

thomas beman: The key for this place is not too judge from the outside. The inside is lovely, kept clean and tidy.Turned up for a date night on a random Wednesday evening and we were given probably the last available table, which really does show how popular it is.Free bruschetta was fabulous 👌.All the food was amazing, I'd recommend going for one pizza and one pasta and sharing. We definitely wish we had done that as two pasta dishes were a lot!Starters are possibly a teeny bit on the pricey side, but the mains are fabulous value when you consider what you pay at any of the awful Italian chains that exist!Staff were attentive without being irritating, and we're more than happy to help with recommendations.Went here based on a couple of recommendations and we were really glad we did!

Peculiar Pots: Lovely lunchtime treat with friends and little one. The food was fantastic and took us back to Italy. Portions were a very good size; I could not find room for dessert. As a chef myself I know great food! Staff were attentive and sweet. The atmosphere was cosy. One small thing was it would have been nice to have a baby/child chair available so parents could enjoy their meal without having to contend with an armful of little person. I would feel sorry for any parent who had a troublesome bundle of joy; our little man is a happy soul and just adored the tomato sauce. Other than that, a wonderful meal with fabulous company and great service. Thank you.

The Fig Tree @ 36: what do users think?

Rachel F: Was a little disappointed by my most recent visit as have been before and was blown away then. We were seated in the back section which was cramped, brightly lit and had very loud music not suited to the restaurant. We did ask it to be turned down twice. I think largely the lack of atmosphere was my main issue. Food and service were both good but mostly we left feeling a little underwhelmed after looking forward to visiting so much.

Michael Tracey: We had a cancellation from a Restaurant about 2 hours before we were due to go. Phoned Fig Tree and they got us a table for 2. It was our 39th Wedding Anniversary. Food, staff ,service, ambience was amazing. Would recommend anyone to book a table and be transported to a brilliant experience. Have been twice now and both times absolutely 💯 percent good. Ty Team Fig Tree keep up this amazing work you all do

Howard Broadribb: We are here on our first night in Plymouth and would highly recommend everyone to enjoy the absolutely superb food, service and atmosphere. It's small, friendly and the menu is amazing and very well priced. We both had the 3 courses for £45. Total bill was £140ish as we also enjoyed two bottles of wine.I would imagine booking is essential if you want to be sure to eat here.

Kyle O'Regan: Always exceptional. Great food, lovely drinks and proper service. All for a really good price.Vegetarian options: Not a cliched risotto in sight. Excellent food, wonderfully cooked.

R Wong: Discovering this delightful place was a joy, with its incredible cuisine, especially the intriguing combinations in the Taste the Chef 3-course set. The element of surprise before tasting each course added to the fun, and the outcome was consistently delightful! The staff were exceptionally professional, attentive, welcoming, and friendly, making our night truly wonderful. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Ian Chadburn: This small restaurant tucked away on a street in Plymouth is an amazing place to visit for a date night. The atmosphere is really cozy and the staff are really friendly and accommodating. The 2 course meal cost us £38, or £45 with a pudding which is well worth it for the quality of the food.Parking: There is on street parking if you are lucky otherwise there is a parking garage around the corner.

Tim Jones: Visited on a busy Saturday evening.General impression is the restaurant is clean, well presented and evidently well liked for how many people were in the small dining area. A little noisy, particularly in the confined space beside the kitchen, when seated close beside a louder table. As the evening progressed, we felt quite cold - not sure if the heating was on?Service from the staff was outstanding, very friendly, polite, attentive, but food was slow to arrive. We were a little perplexed by having the appetiser on the table before our starter/main order had been taken, so having to work around still having the menus. The smoked butter was very strong - my partner liked it, it was too much for me.Both fish starters were good, with the mackerel our favourite. The main courses were OK. The lamb was fine, but served with lamb fat root veg meant the whole plate was very similar flavoured, and the green beans/salsa verde felt like an afterthought. The skate wing was nice, and the crispy capers were a new and pleasant experience. The desserts rescued the food for me - the creme brulée was outstanding, and the chocolate special was very good, with exception of a slightly chewy meringue.I feel I'm being picky with my criticisms, but fig tree is definitely priced higher than other more standard fare restaurants in Plymouth where we have also had very good food.

Janice Black: First time here today with friends.Had the trust the chef lunch menu.Loved the element of surprise & trying things I would normally not choose. All the courses were delicious. Will be visiting again.

Erika I: A lovely place in Plymouth seaside, nice wiew to the sea and the Smeaton's Tower.Big inside and outside options. The staff is very lovely and helpful, the food was tasty, wasn't expensive a meal and a pint of beer only £20.Toilet is very clean, I loved the mirror frames, very creative.Updated:3 years ago after lockdown Plymouth was the first place - far from my home - that I visited after a very difficult period. My accomodation was very close, so I've had my first beers and first foods outside in this pub. I'm very sentimental person, so this place going to be very heartworming for me all in my life.I've celebrated the life and freedom here.

Charlie Salter: Fantastic evening spent at the waterfront. We arrived to be greeted by friendly faces. Who offered us a table. The food was amazing. I had the lamb scotch egg. Such a simple idea that had become a fast favourite of which I’ll be ordering again at my next visit.Aswell as the beef shin and ale pie. That was the perfect portion size for a big eater like myselfWe finished our evening by sitting in the wonderfully scenic deck outside the restaurant to enjoy a final drink. It was atmospherically lit, cosy and quiet.I’ll definately be enjoying more evening at the waterfront
