Southway Clinic: what do users think?
Dominic Mitchell: Neglected care plan, didn't listen to my concerns and when I complained they lied about me in my medical notes. Experienced racist overtones and told by the consultant psychiatrist that if I was nicer person I would get better care. When did the quality of care become dependant on your moral character or lack of behavioural distress at presentation. They want fully compliant patients who don't ask questions and abuse the power imbalance. Some staff members should not be working in the mental health field with the attitudes and the treatment of clients. Had to leave the UK partially because of them. Please record every encounter, always have a witness present and goggle "Plymouth mental health advocate" to get representation if needed. Please always look after yourself when engaging with so called "professionals" and remember you are the expert when it comes to your own body and how you feel. Clearly a lack of compassion and professionalism at this clinic and these poor practices are often endemic due to poor management and larger cultural views of those with mental health struggles still not treated with parity with those with physical health challenges.
Matt Whitcombe: Very helpful, was expecting the usual "adhd isn't a thing" but instead they was very helpful and gave me contact numbers to support networks and gave me the tablets that I needed
Simon Paull: First time with them great helped a lot with mental health but if you get referd to them again for help they couldn't care less and want nothing to do with you

Plymouth Options: what do users think?
Rispa Fisher: ''What a joke! Haven't even finished the CBT course yet, but was discharged by my support lady because I've had 1 week of feeling a bit better!! She has decided I'm in recovery. 1 week after 4 years...really? Useless, no point in completing course now as no-one will be monitoring or supporting me. And now I'm discharged and listed as an Options success story"Incredibly disappointed.Sent from my Galaxy
Cornish Lassy: I've found these services to be extremely condescending. They will only tell you the obvious, that which you already know, and speak to you as if you have the understanding of a toddler. They also arranged my next appointment at a time that was not good for me, without checking first, and told me I need to re-refer myself if I miss it.
Kate M: I attended the Stress Management course and then had one to one CBT which was helpful and it helped me through some tough times. Please take the negative reviews here with a pinch of salt, this service explains on their website what they can and cannot offer I.e. they can't support people with risk. It's a free NHS talking therapies service with some caring staff.Update 21st March 2023: I have used Plymouth Options again, had one to one CBT and found their staff and the intervention I've received helpful. My referral was processed fairly quickly, waited a few weeks for assessment and to start treatment.
Flufflepuff93 !!: Due to anxiety/depression issues I wasn't ready to start therapy just yet, so requested to go back on the list even if I go back to bottom. Instead I received a letter stating 'this lady was removed from the service'. Have lived here for 7 years and found Options attitude to be disgusting
Dan Rudge: There are not enough characters in the field to explain the depths of deceitful and manipulative processes used to mitigate the damage to reputation of service in the face of unconscionable mistreatment and neglect of service users needs stemming from the gutting of the costly and effective areas of the system which would have been funded by money currently in the seychelles.so Plymouth options runs like it is a CBT mindfulness service with some tiny portion of other services.Plymouth options is the only option for all therapeutic mental health needs for individuals who do not have the personal expendable income to go private.Plymouth options has amazing therapists in many many fields. No where near enough of them. but the ones working there from the students to the veterans are all amazing at what they do.that is not the problem.the problem is those therapies cost money.and rather than having a mental health service run as a social endeavour. just like the rest of the public service system including the nhs. THIS IS BEING RUN SO SOMEBODY MAKES BANK.The problem with plymouth options is greed. there is one star up there. it is for the people still trying to care for others in the system. i appreciate you. i condemn the system.
TheBestofJikook: Year long waiting list. It started off strong but then they ditched me out of nowhere with no warning of any last lesson and told me that I was frustrating to deal with
Alison House: I have only given 4 due to the extreme long wait to be seen . But the help I am getting is amazing
Rosie Miles: Absolutely no help at all. Told me I had to do CBT or have no help at all even after I told them I’ve tried it in the past several times and it did not work, they then referred me to addiction services when I had no addiction to anything.
Ashot: Completely incompetent in mental health. I felt like I was interrogated like some kind of criminal. I can't believe it was my GP who referred me to this organisation. Considering their reputation on the web, how are they still operational?
Sam Jackson: Awful. They dnt care wasnt even offered a service so dismissive
Greg Clark: The person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful, which is why I have rated 2 stars and not 1. I think it's quite poor to be referred to this service from the NHS. Unfortunately the use of systematic and wide ranging questionnaires mean you won't get definitive help (e.g. counselling) unless you rated as high risk. In my personal situation I have made as much effort as I can to understand how to improve my mental health (panic, anxiety and depression). However, I need someone qualified in psychotherapy to help with the last part, which like I said, you won't get unless you are deemed as high risk. This is not an issue which should be treated as binary, people suffer in all different ways. It is particularly telling that a mental health service are willing to shift the responsibility after a maximum of two phone calls. I was referred to an online service, which I will do, as I am open to any treatment, but my advice would be to try and find the expense for a well researched professional counsellor and go in willing to listen and open to any suggestions.
Mary Gothins: The CBT course is for people who are not self aware. If you know your problems and triggers this is not for you. The longer I'm on this course the more patronised i feel. I've seen plenty of people joke about other mental health services recommend a cup of tea and a hot bath, well this isn't much better. Deep breathing is the answer to all my problems apparently, like i dont meditate most days. I've also found it incredibly sad that they dont consider other ways of people harming themselves. Its like they have a sheet to run by and anything else isn't relevant. I'll be paying out for a real counsellor in the new year because this is a joke and a massive waste of time. I only give 2 stars because I know people who feel its helped
Inita Kalneja: Got a call from them some time ago, they asked fee question, basic ones like-what is bothering me mostly (e.g anxiety or depression). Explained them everything, answer I got just shook me-we cannot help you, you must look for professional help. Plus lady on phone seemed she has no clue what is she doing there, sounded so ignorant and emotionless . Thing is I got referral from my gp. Just why you even exist if you can't help people, I better pay then for therapy and know they will take care of me. Useless place.
Holly Archard: I was referred to an online course which I needed to access via a link, that expired very quickly but it gave me an option to request another which I did. At the time I was extremely busy with work so was behind on checking emails. They never sent me a new one and I tried multiple times with nothing back. I then emailed Options directly, twice and haven't heard anything back it's been two weeks now so my emails are clearly being ignored. My emails have been polite and formal so to be ignored when I'm clearly asking for help it's very unprofessional and concerning coming from a mental health service. You're a service built to help those who ask for it, not ignore them.
Daniel Platten: I had EMDR Therapy with Richard and it has completely changed my life. I didn't think it could or should work. But i cannot recommend it highly enough. Whenever i can i tell people and the effect it has had on me personally and for my family too. Staff are very professional, nothing is too much. When arriving it is a very safe environment which makes it easy to do the counselling provided. Yes the waiting times are sometimes long, but you are getting a free service. And what is 6 months of waiting when it could change the next 20-30 years of your life and for the better.
Olly Moody: Its basically a scam. no matter what you cant get on their waiting lists or if you somehow do the drop you after a few months. then they refer you to expensive places instead saying that's the only option. I wonder if these "nurses" are getting a kickback from the company's they're shipping vunerable people off to lose wheat little money they have.
B B: Fake place. Waiting list after waiting list awaits you, even if you are suicidal.Just another scam, with so called skill practitioners.
Lianne Harvey: A safe caring and understanding environment. Fabulous staff, amazing counselling and treatment, if you need their help, you will get it!
Sarahclark KantarTrial: I’m disgusted that you give wrong information and when I pull you up on it you tell me I’m wrong. You are dealing with vulnerable people. You tell me you know all about disability but you don’t and cause distress. You are also inflexible.
Elaine Blake: So far, after initial call with a lady who was lovely, I was passed on to someone else who was very unsympathetic, bored and made me feel like I was a nuisance as she was so busy. So here I am several months in, still waiting for an appointment and treatment to begin.
Judy O'Carroll: 12 months ago I was stressed out and depressed due to a difficult work situation and both nearest relatives needing extra care.I was seen by a good student and assessed within ten days of signing up. I then attended the Stress Management course over four evenings. I learned more there and acquired more coping skills than at uni or any previous course or job situation. I am immensely grateful.I

Plym Bridge House CAMHS Unit: what do users think?
Rosanna Wiggins: Slayed
Heather Elliott: Worked here and absolutely loved it, the team are incredible and go above and beyond.
Kevin Vogan: My Daughter was detained there under section Oct to January 2020/21 Thank god this service was available. Its a tough environment for patients and staff, we Thank you with all our ❤️ for your commitment and care. Wishing you strength in 2023 to carry on doing what you do.
Megan Jones-Dellaportas: I worked here and absolutely loved it. The staff all have patient centred care at their heart and work extremely hard to ensure every single patient gets exceptional care. The young people have boundaries but are not too restricted and have a wealth of activities they can get involved with to support their recovery. There were obviously difficult moments but there was also plenty of opportunity for fun! Would recommend as a place to work and would have no concerns if my loved ones or future children needed admission there.
Sascha Bark: I was admitted here for about a year and it was HELL!!! If you can, find another unit!
Dude Actually Perfect: they ate my nuggets
Daniel Tape: absolutely brill
paul murphy: As a father to a 16 year old daughter in plymbridge House's care, im not being told the truth, I often get fobbed off. They have lied to me about where she is (like a&e after trying to take her life but telling me she was at a&e having bloods taken!). Do father's have any rights nowadays, its certainly not the case in my situation.
Lauren Rankin: Helped me through the darkest days of my childhood and gave me the strength to become a better person
Rhiannah Tart: food was cold and tasted like hospital food. worst restaurant ever.
Nicholas Kay: They do a great job despite NHS funding cuts
Danielle Sprangle: Absolute shocking service ,
