Plymouth Sound Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite: what do users think?
June Haycox: The view as always stunning. Site due to bad weather not the best. The site water logged. The wadens just back from few days off had a lot on there hands to come back to. Just a shame the caravan & motorhome club don't think about putting in hard standing. For motorhomes and people that are disabled . ( Just a thought)Service: 1/5|Location: 5/5 …More
chris mitchell: We have visited this site a few times over the years. Sadly the club have increased their prices again but there have been no improvements to the site. No toilet / shower block which could be down to planning permission. No hard standing pitches. No additional stoned access tracks. Therefore when you have a little rain it can be quite challenging to get off the site even with a 4 x 4 motor home. The lanes leading up to the site are very narrow in places especially the final tight bend approach so it’s best to check out first before booking. However this is a truly magnificent place with amazing views across Plymouth sound & of course Bovisand beach which is a 10 / 15 minute steep walk down from the site. The wardens are very friendly & really do their best to look after everyone especially when you get stuck in the mud while trying to get out.
Lorraine and Mal: Lovely quiet site and very nice owners who are very frexible and happy to help with anything.
Theresa: Excellent site with great views and plenty of walking. The site is very well kept and the staff are friendly and helpful. You need to have your own toilet and washing facilities.
Robert Goodall: Wardens were really friendly and helpful. Lovely site with stunning views over Plymouth Sound.
Christian Rohner: Schöne Aussicht über die Bucht leider keine sanitäre Anlagen
Damian Murphy: A fabulous site overlooking Plymouth sound. Wonderful views, pitches are well-spaced, and site is very clean and well-maintained. Electric, and all the usual service points are easy to access. No showers/WC, so come equipped!
David Meek: Excellent service and great views
George: Lovely site with beautiful views and excellent dog walking area. Will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend!
Karen Smart: Beautiful place, stunning view
Volker Rippegather: We spend 2 nights at this beautiful. amazing view campsite, very nice and clean thanks to the excellent service Kevin and Anita are providing. It‘s really worth spending a couple of days in this lovely and romantic scenery.
Jensede: Der Platz ist sehr schön und die Aussicht ist super über die Bucht.
Amanda White: Just had five wonderful nights here . The grounds are very well kept . The dog walking park is lovely . Excellent walks , with my dogs all around the area . Dogs where welcome every where we went , bus’s , ferry’s , pubs etc . The wardens are so lovely . Very helpful, easy to talk to . We loved watching the Plymouth sound , great views from our Motorhome over the waters . A very enjoyable stay x
Jenny Ware: A beautifully well maintained site due to the very caring wardens. Whilst there are no shower/toilet blocks the views over Plymouth Sound more than make up for any inconveniences! Love it 💖💖💖 Most evenings a young man brings his bird of prey..a Bengal 🦉 Owl over to the field behind the site to exercise and gives a very entertaining chat. Happy memories 💜😗
Ahrlene Fuller: Nice campsite but not very level make sure you have your chocks. It also has no toilet block which we failed to notice but site manager Kevin very nice chap. Biggest problem for us was the distance from Plymouth town centre itself..over five miles and costing £14 a time in a taxi. Our fault as we thought there would be buses etc but there wasn't. So we had to leave the van and book into a hotel in town for a couple of nights as we were attending several events. It worked out fine in the end and we knew the van was safe with CAMC.
Bev Bayes: Lovely friendly peaceful site , fabulous view of Plymouth Sound .Bovisand within walking distance, great local pub Mussel Inn nearby .would recommend getting ferry at Mount batten to Barbican .Dog Friendly at all places visited 😊
Alan Mutter: Well kept site, nice friendly wardens.

South Devon Wild Camping: what do users think?
Darren Ashton: Absolutely beautiful campsite with incredible views and an amazing sunset! The owner is very friendly and provided a brilliant service. You will not be disappointed with your stay.
Richard Dale: Excellent camping site. Beautiful spot and a great sunset. Very peaceful in rural Devon.
cherry stone: Lovely sunny spot with breathtaking views. Very nice owners
Hannah Funnell: We booked to stay here 3 weeks in advance, for 3 nights and paid in full. We got up early on the morning of our holiday and on the drive down to Devon received the following message:“Hi Hannah im so sorry to let you down but im afraid we are no longer able to accommodate you this weekend. Please could you send me your bank details and i will refund you. Sorry for the inconvenience. Kind regards Laura”There was no explanation at all. We were forced to find somewhere else to stay over the Jubilee Bank holiday, which unfortunately made for a very stressful start to our holiday. We did receive a full refund 2 days later but would absolutely not recommend booking this.
Stephen Ball: The postcode led me to a junction in the road. No signs up anywhere. I drove round the village hoping to see a sign Nothing. I eventually went down a country lane where there was a wild camping sign.I sore to tents ⛺. A portaloo and that's it. It was very dark, ok the stars were amazing but that's it.I drove round the field looking for a flattish piece of ground, but gave up.Didn't see the toilets or showers that people talked about.
Maris Jacis: Awesome wild camping place. Basic however does the job! Multiple portable toilets available with a basic hot shower facility. Dog friendly with relatively close to nice cost line walks and beaches.Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Enes Muslu: I was very happy with the shower temperature and water pressure
James Osbiston: Had the most wonderful time. Very relaxing site with a great vibe. Great for kids and dogs, plenty of space. Laura and her family cannot do enough for you. We are definitely coming back.
Louise Russell: Fantastic, loads of space, best campsite shower ever, basic but brilliant. Friendly owners that drove round & check everyone is ok. Will be back!
Leah Dawes: Having stayed here a few weeks ago we couldn’t resist coming back again, so peaceful and lush views. The owners are so welcoming and lovely. The site has clean portaloos and a hot shower also which is a massive benefit! The sun sets in front of your tent, which is absolutely beautiful. We will be coming back again for sure!Xx
Jack B: Nice very nice 👌love🤩 me and my dog🐶

Maker Campsite: what do users think?
sonia vigie: Absolument fabuleux ! J'espère y retourner un jour et en profiter vraiment 😍
Clare: Wild and wonderful campsite, just as they should be, peaceful with elderflower hedges and meadow grass, loving listening to the skylarks. That would be enough for me, but it also has loads of immaculate facilities, bonus. It’s going on my list of favourites!
Lynsey Tiplady: Very relaxed . Great views . Fire bowls , canteen with amazing food . Cocktails I heard somewhere . What more is needed !
Sam Smith: The kindness shown by Jo and the team at this campsite is what makes Cornwall truly beautiful. Despite not having any availability, they went so far above and beyond to help us find much needed accommodation, it truly reminded us of how brilliant people can be. Thank you againRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ryan Smith: Expensive stay for supposed a week. Actually turned out to be four days. Spent all of the fifth day traveling home. Holiday was arranged with Moorville residential and was very expensive. I Felt ripped off. I have went four times since 2019. Jeff and Natalie rub this place from the nearby village of kingsand and cawsand. The campsite is called Wilderme and they seem to take advantage of people with special needs (autism, dispraxia, downsybdrone, adhd etc) probably in a bad way.Rooms: Geodome tent door zip was ripped. Shower does not always run hot, so you end up getting a mostly cold shower. Toilet facilities are poor for camping and less than ideal.Walkability: It is along uphill walk from the village to the WilderMe campsite.Noteworthy details: The people who run the place are hippies.
sandra dyer: Return to maker camping after a gap of a few years. Lovely site, relaxed and amazing location. New facilities much improved. Friendly staff and find your own pitch .Sad to see the results of having to sell some of their land. Glamping site next door now has the best sea views with squishedtogether bell tents .Still maker remains uniquely lovely. Will be back soon!
Tequila Dave: One of my favourite campsites.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Kid-friendly …More
Jill S: Really nice location and very good tent sites. Impeccably clean facilities, including a common area for washing up and eating if you like. Met other very nice people out walking. My only issue is with communication-- the hosts are only at reception about five hours a day max, though they are super when you get hold of them. The website to book is unnecessarily convoluted and difficult to with through, and even after booking I didn't get the confirmation email, despite using my correct email to log in to their system. It would be nice if the system were simpler. It would also be helpful if the site areas and drinking water were labeled- about four of us were scratching our heads as we all arrived after reception left and it wasn't clear if the "water points" were drinking safe, especially as some of the "water points" were just fire extinguishers. Similarly, the campsite next door told us we could camp in very different spaces than the Maker Camp map showed. Not a big deal but a little confusing.Overall, really nice place and loved the community area.
Imogen Le Hunte: Fabulous, chilled campsite. Great new shower block, fire pits to hire. The Canteen restaurant is just amazing - brilliant food & staff, takeaway pizza on Fridays. The Barracks are really interesting too & host a bar & café.
Inge Shepherd: I'm in two minds about Maker camp. It is a lovely location with some good walks, beaches nearby and ferry access to Plymouth. The facilities have been upgraded so there are good toilets and showers. There's no EHU so I think it's a bit expensive for what you get. Also, the field with the best views is now set aside for glamping. There is a pop up cafe on site, and possibly a bar although it wasn't open when we visited. Very windy due to its exposed position.
Tim Yates: The Cabarats at Patchwork Studios were great. Nice venue as well.
Allison Palfreeman: Absolutely fantastic couple of days camping, relaxing, lovely and clean..would highly recommend visiting here... looking forward to our next trip..thank you to Jo and all staff for doing a brilliant job 😊👍 Allison Palfreeman + Lee Scallan
Alex N: Lovely quirky site, £12ppn. Great views, food and toilets on site.
Price Family: Lovely setting, great facilities and a warm welcoming environment will definitely be back.
Laurie Greysky: Great stay at Maker Campsite, lovely natural informal setting with great facilities and the food was great, stone baked pizza on Saturday, lovely breakfast on Sunday morning.
Tim: Website booking is a nightmare and there is no-one willing to answer a simple enquiry, dont worry we wont be visiting, you couldn't have made it more anymore complicated .
Cher Ricard: Easy to book, helpful friendly staff, will definitely use again. Thank you
