Roman Masaryk
Roman Masaryk: I like the museum. The visitor can see the history of city in a nice, interactive, exhibition... from the age of dinosaurs, throught the stone and bronze ages, Rome and Napoleon wars until the modern era. And for free except special exhibitions. Four stars. What I do not like is the Coffee House. The DIY potato, warm "cold" drinks because of not working fridge. Two stars should be much enough. This is not visible in my review as the Coffee House is not separated on Google Maps and I do not want to harm the museum.
Karen Basinski
Karen Basinski: It was a really good afternoon out.. The kids and adults all enjoyed the experience.. Thank you 🙂

Longthorpe Tower: what do users think?
Sue Lill
Sue Lill: We went along to one of the events last Saturday (2nd Dec) and we were so impressed. Being a timed slot, the guides had to stick to tight timings per group, however if anything, this left us wanting more! The guided were in medieval dress, telling us about he history of the Tower and it's paintings. Also a glimpse into another time. Very knowledgeable, all of them. We will return.
Dave Leach
Dave Leach: Very interesting building with a great history.
Roella Trudgill

J D
J D: A 'Nothing' of a place... for £5!
Jarrod Hunt
Jarrod Hunt: The tower itself you can only explore the inside of, and it's only two levels, so won't take you a lot of time, but the ground floor wall paintings are worth the visit alone. The volunteers give you a very detailed description into the meaning and history of the walls and their paintings. It's really really impressive to see art from 1320-1340 up close like this.
Bodge Aylestone Ward
Bodge Aylestone Ward: Closed when we arrived
John Blenkinsopp
John Blenkinsopp: The wall paintings were fantastic. The volunteers told the story behind all the paintings - very interesting.
Lord Kenneth Montgomery-Moore
Lord Kenneth Montgomery-Moore: Enjoyable place to visit
minnie mimi
minnie mimi: I've long wanted to visit Longthorpe Tower but their weekend-only opening times made it a challenge. It was absolutely worth the wait. I enjoyed a hour-long detailed tour of this unusual and unique dwelling that once represented the prestige of the upwardly mobile Thorpe family whose lineage sadly died out.Much about them remains unknown and the beauty of the paintings of the tower is in as much as what we cannot see but only imagine as what can be seen. If you find yourself in Peterborough at a loss for things to do, strongly consider this beautifully preserved English Heritage site staffed by informative volunteers.
Roger Atkins
Roger Atkins: Very interesting building brought to life by two very good and knowledgable guides
david nock
david nock: What a hidden gem this is, make the effort to visit. The medievel walk paintings are stunning, and very knowledge staff to boot
Mike Sweeting
Mike Sweeting: Remarkable place. Wall paintings from the early 1300s are rare, rarer still outside a religious building. V helpful friendly volunteers
Luke Stanley

Dave Bingham
Dave Bingham: Great place to visit , very knowledgeable staff
Michael Graham
Michael Graham: Hidden gem helpful staff and medieval wall painting
bryan treloar
bryan treloar: Loved it
Marcus Anderson
Marcus Anderson: Fascinating place to visit. These paintings may seem nothing special but they are dated between 1320 and 1340. Given that some of them are religious, it is amazing that they survived the Reformation, let alone to today. You have to climb the wooden stairs outside, to the first floor, to enter the building. See the Photos, if you are concerned. The stairs inside are the usual tight affair, normally found within castles. For those of you with younger children, there might not be enough here to entertain them.At the moment, you have to book and your time will be limited to the start of next tour but it is more than enough time. The staff on site are very knowledgeable and survived our questions.
Brenda Kent
Brenda Kent: Amazing tower with incredible medieval paintings on walls. If you are a history buff, this is for you. The staff give you an interesting talk about the tower, the attached but inaccessible manor house and ways of life in the medieval period. Staff members were kind and helpful and more importantly informative. Well worth an hour if your time.
Tracey Tostevin
Tracey Tostevin: Excellent tour and explanation
Tom Butler

The workshop workers are very friendly and passionate about their trade. There is also a soft play that is clean and well maintained and an amazing play park. They also have a café and shop, however you can bring your own food as there are many eating areas. There was so much to do for the price, the staff were so friendly as always and the kids loved seeing Santa of course! We will definitely be back for the Christmas experience again. Inside was beautifully decorated, the kids were able to write letters to Santa, have a Christmas story, toast marshmallows, have photos on Santa's sleigh and spend as long as they wanted going round the farm too!In the summer, the natural stream area is lovely for the kids to play in (and the dog!) The fact that it is dog friendly is a huge plus. We love the mill and the animals, and the park area is absolutely massive. We love having this on our doorstep!

The children loved the farm animals and the play areas. There was something of interest everywhere we went. For a small additional charge we booked a seat on the tractor ride. For the children this bumpy ride around parts of the farm that they wouldn’t normally see was just one of the highlights of the day. There are good facilities for children including several toilets about the farm. It is well maintained and a pleasure to visit.
